Morning losers! 🌄
Drumroll 🥁 please . . . I have broken my plateau 😀 only by 1/4 of a lb but I now weigh less than I did when the year started with 19!!!
I feel 'on it' again, after the summer. I have a very social week coming up with two meals out so I will need to scour the menus before I go. I can't risk it now 🤣
One is to an Indian restaurant - any ideas about good less calorific choices?

Yay, well done!!!!
Re Indian, I tend to go for tandoori chicken or chicken tikka, high protein and normally comes with salad. Otherwise a non creamy dhal or chana masala. I sometimes have a chapati ( although can never eat it🤣). Enjoy!

BreezyPeer · 30/08/2025 08:47

@MisseyLurker 5st!!!! That's a fantastic loss. Well done 👏
@PenelopePoweringOn wow! Your house sale has been so quick 🔥
What sort of place are you looking to move to? I moved here 16 years ago to a small town because of a time crunch and lack of options 🙃 and I love it here! I act as the unofficial tourist office for the town, spreading how wonderful it is far and near! I hope you find somewhere that suits you as well 😊
@myladyjane STS is disappointing but I reckon the loss is in the bag it just isn't showing today for some reason! Whoosh for you next week 🤞
@Jins we are pen twins! I have 3 10mg pens and I've done the maths same as you! I also looked for an extra pen 'just in case' but I just can't justify the cost. You have made me feel better about the fact that there might be new discounts come December. I am pretty much hoping to come off it after these 3 pens but I don't know if maintenance will be possible without it.
@meatyryvita well done on the size 12 jeans! You made me laugh with your description of how tiny they are! I got a new 'small ' top from Vinted yesterday. It looked like a doll's jumper! And it fit!!!! 😃
@cloudjumper good luck with the interview
@Aimingdown hoping 🙏 for your healthy bmi!
@DGonMJ that's a healthy attitude! We need to be able to have holidays and feasts and even put weight on but then get back on the wagon. Sounds like a brilliant holiday- and lots if people must think so if it's already booked for next year 😎
@2025istheyeari losing cm is great although I feel your pain with the plateau. It seems common for us all at this stage in our journey
@Thelittlestranger kefir is a good idea 💡 I'll have to look into that. I need some maintenance habits now.
Enjoy the festival! Dancing to house music is a great way to get your steps in 😅
Have a great Saturday everyone 😀 xx

MJalltheway · 30/08/2025 09:02

Morning lovely losers 😎
im off out for Indian tomorrow as well @BreezyPeer, I like a shashlik or a bhuna. To be honest though, if I wanted a creamy sauce, I'd have it anyway and just eat less of it. One calorific meal won't make any difference.

Taking a car-full of teens out later for my DDs birthday, always fun to get to eavesdrop on their conversations in the car!
And I need to find a new pair of trainers. It's very difficult for me to find trainers that fit (wide feet and need arch support) and the pair I have had for ages have started to make my left foot painful. 😣 They don't seem to make the same style any more (they are vionic ones), such a pain!

Zempy · 30/08/2025 09:06

@BreezyPeerwell done! I also broke my long plateau today!

Sw: 13:7
CW: 9:2

I would so love to see an 8!!!

Yeah I agree with @2025istheyeari. I always get chicken tikka with salad. If I am feeling greedy I might grab a spoonful of Bombay potato 😜

Everyone is doing so well. Look at how far we have come!!! It’s absolutely normal for weight to fluctuate up and down, but it is going to be difficult to readapt to that after eight months of continuous downward trajectory.

The weather is horrible. I want to do my wardrobe swap over but I know it’s way too early. Plus I have an October holiday to Malta and need to have clothes for that readily available. And of course I don’t know what will fit then (as I will be eight stone something) 🤣

I’m kidding myself. I just want to do more Vinting because I’m obsessed/addicted.

myladyjane · 30/08/2025 09:21

@2025istheyeari shall we scold our very rude scales?

@PenelopePoweringOn oh mate. Re the houses, are you looking to stay in the same place but smaller or relocate? I know you need to have rooms for dcs but in my head I am picturing you in a small distinctive cottage at the edge of a picturesque village, mysterious and fascinating with lots of carefully curated fabulous things around you. And books everywhere. Possibly an attractively muddy dog. Very peaceful and serene.

@Thelittlestranger pleased to see the kefir is having a good impact. We charmingly call it vagina juice here as dd is on long term antibiotics so we got her into it to keep her gut microbiome in good shape as well as try and keep any downstairs issues at bay. You have inspired me to have a bit in my breakfast smoothie. I am the same re a swim - hoping weather is ok tomorrow but am not gonna risk storms today.

@BreezyPeer you go girl. I tend to go tandoori king prawn and saag when out for Indian. Protein and veg. Maybe a tiny bit of dhs rice or a poppadum but just one. Love how fired up you are.

well it feels properly back to school doesn’t it. Which I am so here for tbh. I love autumn, it always feels way more new year new start to me than January does. I have some autumn chores to do - have to use up our chilli’s to make chilli jam for dd. Plus dd is crocheting me a jumper so we are off to the wool shop. She’s very good so I’m quite excited. The plan is to do that and some cleaning this morning, a bit of exercise then settle down for a good read this afternoon when it’s all rainy and then family film and curry this evening (Thursday murder club we think).

only fly in the ointment is bad tummy/sulphur burps are back. Ffs.

PenelopePoweringOn · 30/08/2025 11:29

Hello losers, checking in for a pit stop. I asked an EA for a cafe recommendation between one viewing and the next. Two on my list have sold overnight so those are cancelled. One is absolutely perfect but has a complication 😱 that I’m not sure I want. Another could be lovely but is actually a bit too big and I’d want to spend at least £40k on it.

Well done @BreezyPeer.

@BreezyPeer and @myladyjane not where I am, but within 20 miles. Closer to a train station which could be either in a village within three miles of a station or in one of three fairly leafy towns. One of the places was exactly that, serene, old, next to the village church, potentially really lovely but probably too much inside space, too little outside space and needed a bit of work in the longer term.

Yesterday’s houses were at the cheap end of my budget which just means I know that I need to spend more.

Two more to go today and then back to the drawing board.

Polkadotdash · 30/08/2025 11:46

Results of four day chips only diet - 3lb gained. FFS.

Jins · 30/08/2025 11:52

Weigh in a day late and first maintenance weigh in. When I left I weighed 8st 13.6 and after a week away, eating pretty much what I fancied I now weigh 8st 13.6. 🤣

Sticking with 5mg for the foreseeable.

Zempy · 30/08/2025 13:52

Well done @Jins.

@Polkadotdash God I would love to spend four days eating chips!! Hopefully the three pounds is just a big 💩 or something.

I had five pairs of jeans and chinos arrived from Vinted today (did I mention that I have a problem?) all size 10.

I picked up the first pair of jeans and my heart sank because they were clearly way too small. Except they fit perfectly. As did three of the other pairs. One pair is actually too big so I am re selling.

cloudjumper · 30/08/2025 14:18

@ZempyI also have a Vinted problem 🤣 Recent convert, just love it. My justification is that I’m also buying lots of the kids’ clothes and shoes there. And I’ve just uploaded a ton of stuff that I want to sell (including my size 16 jeans whoop 🙌🏻)…

PenelopePoweringOn · 30/08/2025 16:46

@Polkadotdash , sorry you found food such a struggle in my home county. Well done @Jins . @Zempy and @cloudjumper , do you give lessons? I am hopeless.

Really disappointing day here, nothing I am interested in other than the perfect house in the perfect place that has a complication in the form of a ridiculous covenant that allows four households to traverse through the beautiful garden (and has done since they sold off land in 1903 or something ridiculous). It really was perfection. The agent was completely oblivious 😤. I paid to see the title at the Land Registry post viewing once I had seen the gates and realised I loved it so much. There's nothing else I want to see on the market right now. 💩. First world problems I know.

Jins · 30/08/2025 17:32

If there’s one perfect house there’ll be another one @PenelopePoweringOn

We picked up my free cross trainer this afternoon. It’s a serious looking piece of kit to a novice like me. I’ve had a 5 minute session and it’s targeting exactly the muscles around my knees that need work. Fingers crossed. DH picked up his new toy as well - a better pizza oven. Not very exciting for a coeliac but he’s very happy and I’m sure I can find a suitable container for gluten free cooking if needed

Polkadotdash · 30/08/2025 18:32

@Zempy im really hoping it is that! I mean, I bloody love chips but by day 4 I was totally chipped out. I did have a deep fried sage and onion fritter thing that was a lovely surprise though.

BreezyPeer · 30/08/2025 19:30

@PenelopePoweringOn do the 4 neighbours actually use the right of way? If not, I think it lapses after about 15 years. Might be different with a covenant? If you love ❤️ it might be worth taking some legal advice?
Or maybe it isn't actually the house for you 🤷‍♀️

BreezyPeer · 30/08/2025 19:35

@Zempy @cloudjumper I love ❤️ vinted! Literally just got back from sending two more parcels. One of something too big and one of something the wrong colour!
Opened my wardrobe today and it's pretty empty but I can start to see the harmony in the colours. It's really nice!
The other good thing about Vinted is . . . Its free money to spend on clothes! I always gave all my clothes to charity before so I never saw them as having any value xx

emmsyg · 30/08/2025 20:32

So I just wanted to give a perspective of someone who has stopped now, starting weight 12st 7 at start Jan, current weight 9st 7lb. I’ve been off Mounjaro completely now for about 4 weeks. My highest dose was 5mg, I titrated down to 2.5 for two weeks then stopped.

All good so far. I actually lost about 2 more pounds but the biggest difference has been to my energy in exercise - I’ve smashed through my 5k and 10km Personal best times twice in the past three weeks - it’s like I have access to energy I was missing before. I should say that I was a grazer with food, I don’t think I had any metabolic issues, I just ate too much and found it hard to lose so the Mounjaro was a godsend.

I'm now doing fasting 5:2 to maintain and it’s working so far, just to give a positive slant (so far) to stopping cold turkey!

DGonMJ · 30/08/2025 20:47

We’re home after an epic 9 hours on the road! Car is emptied. Food is back in the fridge and cupboards. First load in the washing machine.

And I have weighed myself, after eating whatever I bloody want for two weeks and lowering the dose to 2.85mg. I am 58.15kg which is a loss of 0.6kg on my previous record low. So I’ll be lowering the dose tomorrow to 2.5mg.

I partly wonder if the loss is from getting good sleep, low stress from not working and instead staring out to sea. Oh and my lifting muscles turning to jelly because I’ve only been swimming and haven’t done any weights.

DGonMJ · 30/08/2025 20:54

That’s great @emmsyg love hearing that you’ve got more energy. I found swimming to be so easy.
I’m now wondering if I might do better than I think coming off it.
I had been thinking I’d microdose at 1.25mg just to keep my inflammation down and try and set my body at this new weight for another year. I haven’t been low in energy lately, but I’ve lost a bit more than I intended and I need to put on another 1.5kg really. I’m hoping getting back onto the heavy weights will help. Maybe I can start on the creatine now.

supafish · 30/08/2025 23:33

Thought I’d lost you all after thread 7 , great to find you again ! 41 pounds down loving life on mj !!

Thelittlestranger · 31/08/2025 07:43

Good to hear @emmsyg - well done!

@supafish welcome back!

@myladyjane vagina juice 🤣 Very apt.

I danced away 27k steps yesterday! Legs feel knackered. WI and I'm 1.5lbs up from my low the other day but below 9stone. Hovering around this weight works for me. Goal is to maintain on or below 9.

I might have to set myself a goal of finding out my colours for my winter wardrobe. I will definitely need some new stuff - I also love autumn and I'm ready for it. Now until Christmas is probably my favourite time of the year. January can do one though.

Lazy day planned today.

HeidiLite · 31/08/2025 08:04

Happy Sunday losers - back from the wedding, also went to London for a few hours before the flight, certainly got my steps in. Some light clothes shopping, looks like I need to go for XS now. I have never been XS.

I am not so sure how I feel about calories on the menus (they don't do it over here). Went for breakfast and each dish was 800-1000 kcal. For breakfast! That's crazy, isn't it?

I'm starting with my gym classes again on Tuesday, promised to gym manager I'll go super light. Will see how it goes, really want to re-start before I lose all my muscle.

Wedding was lovely - what's funny, almost our entire table (except for my naturally skinny DH) was on MJ and 2 people who weren't, were about to start (one even got it on NHS). And I don't hate the photos of me. In fact, I look quite pretty. 😛

BreezyPeer · 31/08/2025 08:19

@emmsyg 3st loss! That's brilliant 👏 Maintenance seems to be going well for you. 5:2 fasting is a good one to put in the mix. I am doing 16:8 which seems to be working OK
Are you going to hang around with us for your maintenance journey?
@DGonMJ that's a mammoth journey! Well done at being so organised when you got in. My bed would have been calling me 😴 💤
The micro dosing for maintenance is a really interesting idea. I am not there yet ( I don't think) so I am following your journey with interest.
Welcome back @supafish ! I am old fashioned, using stones and pounds. Nearly 3 stone, that amazing!
Are you maintaining now? Or still on your weight-loss journey?
@Thelittlestranger having my colours done was a brilliant thing for me. I don't think there has been another time in my life when I would have been buying all new clothes so I am being so picky. Literally taking my colour fan into shops. I look like a loon but I don't care!
@HeidiLite I bet you look stunning in the photos!
I am imagining your DH having 8 plates of wedding breakfast to finish off!
I quite like the calories on menus, I don't take any notice of 100 or so difference because that could change in the kitchen but if I'm choosing between two dishes and one is 600 and one is 1500 kcals I know which one I am going for!
800-1000 kcal for breakfast does sound high! But, if it was brunch and filled you up ( and was delicious 😋) why not?
XS is a mythical size! I am not sure I know anyone in real life who is an XS!
Happy Sunday everyone, I'm back to work tomorrow after extended time off (holiday, sickness, holiday) I am NOT looking forward to it 🙃 xxx

MJalltheway · 31/08/2025 09:03

Just quickly popping on to say I reached 80% of goal this morning AND I'm below 12 stone!! 😱

Now I'm off to do a weights workout! 🏋️

PenelopePoweringOn · 31/08/2025 09:33

@BreezyPeer , no it doesn’t expire with a covenant. I wouldn’t entertain it tbh, even if it was used respectfully today there’s no guarantee that it would be used respectfully in the future.

Great to hear how everyone feels good about maintaining their weight further down the road than some of us. Well done @MJalltheway .

@DGonMJ I do think that stress has a lot to do with our weight.

Still at 85kg this morning, it’s definitely not as a result of eating much. I’m going to increase my movicol dose today. Also need to inject and I’m going for 6.25 again because my appetite isn’t great.

I’ve been on an early morning house spotting drive this morning, two possibilities so more viewings to arrange tomorrow.

More declutterring and a trip to the dump planned today. Exciting stuff 😂. Happy Sunday losers.

supafish · 31/08/2025 09:34

@BreezyPeerNo I’m still at it , taking the slow route . I’m on 7.5 and have been for 4 months . Tend to loose about 5 pounds a months on average . I’m not desperate to be a skinny girl , I want to be a comfortable size 14 and I’m almost there. I’ve 2 pens in the fridge and will carry on until it feels like the time to slow it down . I’m loving selling my old clothes on Vinted although also gutted seeing some of my favourite bits no longer fitting me .
I shall be bothering you all asking about the various clicks you all do to give yourselves smaller doses because I think that’s the way I shall titrate down when the time comes . I have no idea about all that at the moment 🤣
I think my goal is 50 pounds loss so 9 pounds to go , forgot I weighed yesterday and lost another pound !
it’s great to talk about it , I’m a secret jabber , only a few people know about mj in my life . People can be very judgy !
