Well done @supafish 41lbs down is excellent!

@HeidiLite glad you got a bit of London shopping in! Interesting that the whole table was on MJ or about to start. Did everyone still have a lovely time?

@MJalltheway woohoo on 80% to goal!!! Enjoy your weights session.

Same @BreezyPeer I’ve only been off two weeks and not looking forward to going back. It’s been such a lovely break…spent a lot of the drive back wondering how long till I can stop working and just stare out at the sea.

Good work on the dancing steps @Thelittlestranger and hovering at your preferred weight.

So my official Sunday weigh in today before I jab was slightly lower than last night. And I ate a giant scone about 10pm.

I’m 57.95kg which is a loss of 0.85kg over the two weeks. I would like to get back to 59.5kg. Although my new Whistles jeans felt a bit more comfortable to sit in, my face and neck can’t tolerate any loss.

Lowering the dose to 2.5mg today. I’m expecting I’ll increase in peloton bike and dumbbells exercise over the week and that’ll add a bit more inflammation.

myladyjane · 31/08/2025 10:18

@supafish we sound v similar in terms of goals I think. And possibly rates of loss too.

@BreezyPeer @@DGonMJ sorrows and prayers re work tomorrow. hopefully it wont be as bad once you actually get started - sometimes the anticipation is worse than the reality.

@PenelopePoweringOn fingers crossed with next viewings (and the other thing)

@MJalltheway good work.

i am deep in side effect city again. v wearing. probably not helped by the curry last night - although it was a king prawn saag so hopefully not too awful in the great scheme. tablespoon of plain rice and half a poppadom and i was done. delivery was v late though and we were all chewing our arms off.

was meant to swim today but i did some weights yesterday so awful doms today like i always get. will go for a walk later. maybe with dh although he was a grumpy twat all day yesterday so maybe not…..

oh and i got my juniper pen yesterday. tried to cancel today and it said as my prescription was being delivered i could not. hopefully just a timing cross over so will try again tomorrow.

MJalltheway · 31/08/2025 12:18

Good luck with the next lot of house viewings @PenelopePoweringOn ! It's over 10 years that we've been in this house but I remember well how soul-destroying the whole process could be!!

@supafish i know what you mean about the favourite bits that no longer fit. I have a fab dress that I love which hangs off me now but I can't bring myself to get rid of it. I keep scouring Vinted in case it comes up in a smaller size.
5 lbs a month sounds very respectable @supafish, it's just over a lb a week which is the recommended rate so nothing wrong with that at all!
@BreezyPeer another 16:8 fan here, it works so well for me.
@DGonMJ 🙌 for the giant scone and still being down on the week.
Sorry you are suffering after the curry @myladyjane , we're off for ours tonight. I hope it was worth the side effects. We're meeting up with friends I haven't seen for ages so really looking forward to that.

PenelopePoweringOn · 31/08/2025 12:26

@supafish and @myladyjane I’m in the same path too. Lost 43lbs ish but ideally with 17-27 to go or where I feel happy, I don’t want to be less than a size 12.

Sorry you’re suffering @myladyjane .

Does anyone else get a weird little stomach ‘flush’ when they inject? I’ve been meaning to ash this for ages but within five minutes of injecting I feel like I feel it all the way up to my throat.

I’ve just washed down my pills with movicol no 2 (not a play on words 🤣).

Staring out to sea chat struck a chord. If I’ve got enough cash left to buy a tiny one bed or studio flat I may well do it at the coast. Once the kids have both moved to uni I’ve thought about how nice it might be to be able to spend three days a week at the coast. Some of the northern seaside towns are super cheap and DC would love/use it.

PenelopePoweringOn · 31/08/2025 12:33

@MJalltheway I know it’s early days but you’re right. I drove to see where more at the bottom end of my price range are located today and I’m thinking that I might not buy my final move house, just something until I know what the kid’s futures look like. Partly because I’ve had the flat at the coast idea. My head is scrambled with it all tbh but I think a flat could be a good move, it will ring fence something for DC’s future deposits and I think we’d all enjoy it and I could work from it.

myladyjane · 31/08/2025 14:12

@PenelopePoweringOn my parents did something similar. Mum was left a little bit of money when her mum died when they were about 60. They had good pensions (civil service final salary) and both retired early ish. They bought a small house in a seaside town they knew well because we had family there. Not a typical ‘by the sea’ place, rather a house that locals would get in a town where the main trade is fishing not tourists. They would go down and stay all the time. Made a couple of friends down there etc. once we lost my dad, I did wonder if mum would keep it but she does. Will potter on down every 6 weeks or so for a week. Swims in the sea, walks the coast, sees her friends and my aunt who lives near by. I genuinely think it kept her going tbh. She’s not far of 80 now.

bit if a ramble but I say do it if its feasible

PenelopePoweringOn · 31/08/2025 14:41

Thank you @myladyjane that’s a lovely story. I think I might like it. I don’t think I could afford anything where my family have property but I will definitely consider it.

Parts of the Yorkshire coast are quite deprived in places, Scarborough springs to mind. Property can be really cheap this is an example (although with high management fees on this one). I could do something up a bit and I’ll have enough stuff to furnish two smaller homes.

MJalltheway · 31/08/2025 14:51

Love a bit of Rightmove snooping. That looks an absolute bargain for a sea view as well! Seems ideal. DH is desperate to retire to the coast but I'm not very interested, maybe we could get a little seaside flat when the time comes to fulfil both of our needs. We're in the south west though, much more expensive down here!

Jins · 31/08/2025 14:59

We really liked Scarborough when we went last year. Also Bridlington which surprised me by how much it has smartened up. We both grew up within easy walking distance of beaches and I really miss being away from the water. We’ve got a river which is ok for swimming and boating but it’s crazy busy on nice days. There have been career related compromises for most of our lives and we aren’t ready to move yet but part of me would love to move back to my hometown.

Slight dip in the scales today to 8st 13.4. I’m happy enough at this weight but I’d like a bit more leeway as I don’t want to go above 9 again. So I’m going to aim for 8.11 and keep working on toning up and rebuilding muscle.

Malta towards the end of September so I’m hoping to swim lots and top up my vitamin D levels for the winter

Had to correct before posting - I’m so used to typing 9 that 8 seems weird

Zempy · 31/08/2025 15:19

I live by the sea. South coast. I love it and would never move away.

9:1 this morning. So close!!!

HeidiLite · 31/08/2025 16:24

trying to catch up, we are a chatty bunch!
Just finished a 5 hour hike with some friends and all respective dogs and kids, they should sleep well - which is good as school starts tomorrow. I always hated autumn, but I'm from a country further north, so autumn is always cold, muddy and rainy. Over here it's gorgeous.

Ah all this talk about sea - I lived most of my life on one coast or another - but am now hours away. DH and I luckily both agree that we definitely, definitely want to find a place by the sea when we retire.

BlueLimes · 31/08/2025 17:41

Everyone is doing so well. @jins @Zempy @DGonMJ fab priceless. @myladyjane goor you feel better soon. @PenelopePoweringOn good lunch with movements (houses and digestive(.

Lots of interesting thoughts re retirement plans where are currently is fine while we can drive. We live quite rurally (1x tiny shop, 1x pub in the village) and I commute into London 2 days a week. Can definitely see the appeal of the sea though. I’d echo @MJalltheway

I took my jab 4 days late and suppression a lot less. I think ok herd 2x more 15mg pens and then I’ll start to reduce slowly. I may had 5lbs to go but suspect I’ve put at least 5 on. Im
kind of with it for the family time we have had.

BlueLimes · 31/08/2025 17:44

@supafish @emmsyg @MJalltheway @BreezyPeer also fabulous priceless.

on my phone think I’ve missed things - sorry !!

BlueLimes · 31/08/2025 18:02

And lots of typos doh - need bifocals.

PenelopePoweringOn · 31/08/2025 20:15

🤣 @BlueLimes … movement.

I’m feeling really nauseous after 6.25mg earlier.

🍷 Here’s to a calmer month in September. Feels like I put a 💣 under it in August.

discov · 31/08/2025 20:57

Echoing comments about wanting to live by the coast. DH is from the north east and grew up a couple of miles from the sea so is very used to it, and doesn’t understand how excited I am when we see the sea 😂

It’s been my first week titrating down from 10mg, and weirdly my first 7.5mg I did on Wednesday has felt far more effective than the last few doses of 10mg. Very strange!

2025istheyeari · 01/09/2025 06:51

Happy Monday ( and back to school for
many) losers! Commiserations to back to work returners too, hope it’s ok.

Ooh living by the sea is my dream too! We live about as far as you can get away!! Go for it @PenelopePoweringOn !! House buying is such an emotional rollercoaster, really hope you find something soon. I am a believer in fate with houses, so I’m sure you will.

@HeidiLite so pleased you had fun and how interesting on your table and Mj! Hope your house slept well last night!

@BlueLimes hope you’ve had a fab time and whatever you’ve put on will come off, all about balance and family time trumps weight!

@discov interesting on doses, I don’t feel 10 is doing much either, I’ve just started my last 10 pen so hoping for similar.

well done @Zempy , @Jins , @DGonMJ @Thelittlestranger , @MJalltheway , @supafish and @emmsyg 🎉🎉🎉

hope curry side effects have buggered off @myladyjane and that you’re feeling better, yes our bloody scales need a good telling off!!

another 16:8 fan here, hangover from the (many times!) I did fast 800, but it definitely works!

I’ve been down a wetsuit rabbit hole , the lake was flipping cold yesterday morning so I’ve ordered one for the autumn/ winter, thinking it was a good job I didn’t need one before as I’ve still had to order a large as a 12!

Still moving up and down but still a pound up over my weight 2 weeks ago and still annoying!!

I’ve also developed what I think may be r wet into burn just under my nose, have stopped all retinol products but it keeps coming back and is so annoying, red angry tiny spots 🤦🏻‍♀️

have a great day chatty bunch!

MJalltheway · 01/09/2025 07:32

Had a delicious curry last night, ate faaaaar too much and still feel quite stuffed! Predictably up on the scales this morning but hoping it will bugger off again over the next few days.
Not quite back to school here, few more days to go yet. No idea how the teens will adjust back to getting up at 7am instead of 2pm!
Feeling so much more autumnal now, I LOVE autumn, definitely my favourite season 🍂
have a great day all!

BreezyPeer · 01/09/2025 07:43

Morning 🌄 losers!
Back to work for me today. Just having coffee to wake me up before the workday starts.
Lovely meal out (Indian-thank you everyone for the suggestions 😋) tonight, so at least I have something to look forward to.
@2025istheyeari I've never heard of retinol burn. I hope its ok? Not painful?
I needed a wetsuit for an activity a couple of years ago! It was xxxxl ( I think)
@PenelopePoweringOn The 'flat by the sea' idea is a great one. It led me to think about my own retirement plans (someway off, unfortunately 😕) and I wonder whether that would be the time to fulfil my dream of living in a flat with a balcony? (Sea view optional!) 😍
Good luck with ideas and viewings. The Northumberland coast is gorgeous if you are considering North.
@Jins Malta sounds lovely 😍
I might try to fit in a bit of October sun ( if the work on the house/garden is finished by then and finances allow!)
@discov funny how some doses just hit different. I was on 3.75 for about 3 months, it was brilliant and then it stopped working and I've struggled to find another dose that works so well. Maybe 7.5 is your sweet spot?

Jins · 01/09/2025 07:56

Happy Monday Losers!

The pizza oven was christened last night and DS1 visited to help out which was lovely. It worked really well and some very professional looking pizzas emerged. I was so busy rolling dough and showing DS1 what was new in the garden that I completely forgot to eat. Yes - forgot to eat!!!! So yesterday I ate brunch cooked by DS2 and a flapjack in the afternoon which isn’t my finest day but I think it demonstrates that I’ve escaped orthorexia.

Strangely unprofessional update from Oushk yesterday about rebates and their costs. Makes me even more inclined to find another maintenance provider but that will become clearer nearer the time I need to when the dust settles a bit. I’m a bit locked in with Oushk at current BMI and their flex plan looks perfect for microdosers.

I think the only way to get an answer from Oushk on gaps between doses and doing month on/month off is going to be by booking a second maintenance appointment as three emails (clinical matters) over the last month have remained unanswered. Pretty fed up with them at the moment. It’s not what I experienced when I switched at all.

HeidiLite · 01/09/2025 08:08

Happy Monday! Back to school here as well and of course DS has managed to catch a cold, snotty and coughing, just perfect. Sent him in anyway but he's a delicate flower and I will not be surprised if school calls soon..

I am going back to gym tomorrow, can't wait! Had to swear to gym manager I will only use tiny little weights the first week, but at least something.

myladyjane · 01/09/2025 08:10

@2025istheyeari v interesting re the wet suit. I did have a tentative look yesterday - I ended up going for an early evening swim and had a chat with the life guard about continuing on in a wetsuit. But I don’t think I can afford one this year tbh plus the thought of finding a short curvy one fills me with dread.

@MJalltheway pleased the curry was good and @BreezyPeer enjoy yours tonight. I hope work is bareable once you are back in the groove.

@discov interesting re doses. Certainly seems to be that a lot of people have a ‘sweet spot’ which is based on trial and effort.

my side effects are carrying on. TMI but the sulphur burps are so gross and nothing seems to shift them. I actually felt embarrassed when dd got in the car yesterday. I know from experience all I can do is mask them with a lot of minty things. Stomach still not great either.

i don’t know whether i should move down to manage but also i want to keep losing especially after sts this week. I mean it’s unpleasant rather than massively unmanageable.

myladyjane · 01/09/2025 08:14

@HeidiLite I hope junior perks up. Poor love I hate snotty colds. Also woohoo re gym!

@Jins I am seeing quite a lot of negativity re oushk sadly. A couple of other forums have people saying they feel a bit meh about them re being unprofessional. There is a thread here re pharmulous which seems to indicate reasonable approach.

Jins · 01/09/2025 08:20

@myladyjane when I had similar problems at the beginning of summer I started doing half doses every 5 days and that seemed to get me past the side effects. For me it started when I moved up to 7.5mg but continued when I dropped back to 6.25mg which had been my happy dose. I’m not going to lie - it’s a faff and I had to set up calendar reminders. Weight loss was slow at that point for me as I wasn’t far from goal so I can’t really say if it impacted that.

My sympathies - I absolutely hated the sulphur burp and diarrhoea phase and if I’d had them with the first pen I wouldn’t have bought a second

PenelopePoweringOn · 01/09/2025 08:33

Morning all, the flat at the coast seems to be a common dream doesn’t it. I think it’s growing wings in my head. With a smaller house for daily life. We shall see. It would have to be the North Yorkshire coast (sorry I can’t see who mentioned further north). I’d want it to be really accessible by train/not too far so that we didn’t have enough time to justify someone visiting and staying there most weeks.

I also agree with Oushk, unfortunately though I do wonder if their approach will satisfy the masses. Very unprofessional and I won’t be using them again, having sung their praises and only ordering from them from the beginning until I used Farmeci last month.

I’m on my phone which makes seeing what everyone has written hard so I’ll come back later, but I think I’ve got a child’s XXL wetsuit somewhere, worn twice if I still have it. Fitted a size 12, probably 5’9 at the time DD really well. I’ll have a look for it and measure it if anyone might like it and thinks it might do them for the time being.

My weight gain continues, I’ve gained a kilo. Movicol (had four sachets yesterday) has started to work but still lots of room for improvement 😬.

Happy Monday losers.
