Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Great article @Mounjaropen Thank you.
I have forwarded it to a couple of friends on MJ who I know will appreciate it too.

I guess we all might know someone from Team Spite who is waiting and watching for the time they can say ‘I told you so’.

I will do my best to not give them that opportunity 💪🏻

Same here, although I’m mindful that I don’t turn midweek invitations down because I don’t want to eat dinner really which is not a healthy way of thinking about things…I’m going with DH to a fancy hotel tomorrow night (he has a work thing) so I plan to use the gym/spa and will have a glass of wine (or two) because life is short and you never know what is round the corner. Sure, I’m a lb or two up on my lowest weight, but I’m a long way off putting 60lbs+ back on so I need to ensure I enjoy life, keep moving and check that my eating does not stray into the realms of disordered. 💪🏻

That is a sensible article from Polly Vernon, @Mounjaropen- and it echos a convo I had with my husband at the start of my WLI experience, when I viscerally felt the “enough food” shut-off he’s had all his life. Some people are just wired slim, and several thousand years ago that might have been a problem for them. It’s not now!

I keep getting stuck on the hypocrisy of fretting about having an increasingly obese population and all the related health costs of that, but then laughing with glee when people who were paying for WLIs out of their own pockets suddenly can’t afford them anymore. Do we want to take the burden off the NHS or not…?

Totally agree @RayonSunrise

To the nay sayers…..’You can either pay for my knee replacement, lifetime of anti hypertension meds etc etc on NHS or I’ll finance my own improved health and save you a shed load of cash’

Re The Times article I’m really interested in the psychology, genetics and physiology of it all. My amazing and very supportive sister is about 9 stone, wet through. She is an emotional non-eater….me not so much!!!! Well…until MJ.

Weighed myself this morning and my 1.6lbs up has gone! So back to pre hol weight. And that was with a roast yesterday too (though I did focus on the meat and veggies). Agree with @Mounjaropen that we need balance to be successful long term. I was also feeling a bit panicky about certain social situations/ expectations and potential weight gain… need to learn how to manage this!

Must remember we can have indulgences and treats, absolutely, as long as we remember to balance it out. That’s how I stop getting all resentful and miserable. I spent some time looking at photos from last year (and these were the curated ones!), blimey what a difference. I did not look healthy. I think I definitely had dysmorphia about how big I had gotten. Significant denial!

Hope everyone’s deliveries come 🤞

Mounjaropen · 01/09/2025 10:11

Bought 4 scratch cards on a whim this morning, won £100 on one. Unexpectedly good start to the week!

I definitely had reverse body dysmorphia too,

I read it as Team Sprite and couldn't work out why Sprite was so associated with skinny people 🤦🏻‍♀️
That's a great article - it's good to have someone on team always-been-thin recognising that WLI are just allowing us to do something that's always come easy to some others.

RayonSunrise · 01/09/2025 12:20

Your comment about not falling into disordered eating/getting weird about midweek dinner invitations really resonated with me, @Mounjaropen. That’s exactly the sort of behaviour WLIs allow me to avoid!

A few years ago during one of my skinny & fit phases, I was constantly paranoid about eating off-plan or missing a workout that would impact my overall calorie deficit. I was “white knuckle slim,” to steal a phrase. But I was definitely a bit obsessive and that’s what I eventually grow tired of and leads to cycling into a weight gain phase. My DH has always been at me to be more moderate - but I don’t have his switch off, so getting to calorie deficient takes more effort and constant focus. I already know I can’t exercise or healthy choice my way out of eating more than I need. That’s what the WLI is helping with!

jay55 · 01/09/2025 16:43

I went to the gym yesterday, only did 10mins on the bike but that’s ten minutes more than every other day the last ten years. Today I walked 7.5 miles. Couldn’t have done that six months ago.
Didnt particularly enjoy either, wish I was the type who liked exercise but I don’t think I ever will. It really is luck what gene combination, hormone reaction we get to food and exercise.

Ive no idea how I can be obsessive over food in both extremes like others here but not be an alcoholic, or addict of some other form.

Holiday is having rubbish weather so far. Hoping for sun tomorrow

So I'm trying to do my first ever golden dose but to complicate matters it's a 15mg pen but I only want 10mgs...any idea on dosage?

SerenePeer · 01/09/2025 17:21

Happy Monday all!

What a great article @Mounjaropen 👏 So refreshing to read something sensible and on 'our' side for a change!

So 36 hours after jabbing 16.5mg in error, I seem to be keeping on top of side effects. I felt bit off last night but to be honest it all could have been in my head. Today has been tricky with taking ds back to uni. He had researched some safe lunch spots for us (I'm gluten-free) so I felt a bit obliged to eat 🙈 I ordered a side dish of smashed potatoes with salsa Verde but when they arrived I realised they were much greasier than I anticipated 🤦‍♀️😭 So I ate 2 and then convinced ds to share them with me...luckily he was too busy chatting to notice he ended up eating most of them alongside his meal 😅 Now tucked up in a hotel room on my own with water, bananas and yogurt if I fancy eating anything. Fingers crossed those potatoes don't come back to haunt me!

You're after 2/3 of a dose, so if you were counting clicks it's 40 clicks and with a syringe it's 0.4ml.

0.6 ml withdrawn with a syringe from any pen is a full dose. So 2/3 of that (0.4 ml) would be 10mg from a 15mg pen if my maths is right. There's probably a chart somewhere someone has a link to but that's how I'd figure it out.

Invisablepanic · 01/09/2025 17:26

Thanks @BlueWalker and @PinkArt I've chicken out and just gone onto my next pen which is 10mg anyway. I was/am just worried about getting another pen in time but hopefully by the time I need it ME will have sorted out their stock issues.

Hi everyone- hoping that your week has started well 😊
Thinking of getting a walking pad for the winter. Not sure if brands can be posted here but if anyone has any recommendations, that would be great. There are so many options! Speed, incline, front bar, folding, blue tooth etc. Thanks in advance.

Goldleafcat · 01/09/2025 19:04

Ooh just had a look at my Oushk maintenance call info (had a panic it was tomorrow) but it’s next Tuesday. Appears to be with Saint Hira herself (had no clue who they were when I booked it yonks ago). Will be intrigued to meet her after hearing all the noise on social media etc.

If you are with Oushk please could you let me know how you’ve found their service? Thank you.

I’ve been with Boots who are very expensive, but my local pharmacy are just a 5 min walk from house and I can pick the pens up knowing they’ve been safely stored etc. I’m wondering how prices will compare because with Boots on monj 15mg looks like £335 (!!) but they normally do a 10% discount for repeat customers so more like £300ish… so very similar? I also have a little stockpile so need to think about that! (Will only admit to my recent boots one, rather than the bonus dose couple!)

RayonSunrise · 01/09/2025 19:11

I am looking at a walking pad as well, @BobberleeBeaner. I have a few colleagues who are clearly striding away when working at home, and I am starting to think it’s a good way to keep steps up. (Every little helps, right?)

Hope you’re feeling okay after the Unexpected Potatoes, @SerenePeer.

Invisablepanic · 01/09/2025 19:31

I've just been able to order a 10mg pen on ME. I'd checked this morning and it was OOS so must have just updated for anyone still with ME.

BobberleeBeaner · 01/09/2025 21:24

Quick update. Oushk delivery date pushed back 10 days from 2nd to 12th Sept from a 16th August order. Fingers, legs and eyeballs crossed 🙏

I’m with Oushk only because my BMI is too low for MedExpress. I’m not that impressed tbh. Communication is not as good as ME and nor are their response times to queries. ME keeps you updated at every stage and I think their delivery service via RM is superior. If you recall, after my call with Hira herself, nothing happened - no next steps and no discount codes which took weeks to sort. That said, 15% off 3 orders following your consultation at the moment is not to be sniffed at, so I got over myself..!

I’ve got a Peloton treadmill so can’t help you with walking pads, but I’d suggest one with an incline will definitely be more versatile. I use mine daily to achieve a walking speed of up to 4.5mph and inclines of 5% but I do rack it up to 11 for a quick burst at the end. The key is consistency with whatever you choose and a gentle increase every week - 0.5 increase in incline and an increase in speed of 0.1 mph each week. I’d suggest a 30min walk to start with and then increase by 5mins a week to get to 45-50mins. I usually choose a box set to work through whilst on the tread to make the time pass more quickly.

so in essence choose something that can give you enough speed to get your cardiovascular system working.

Good luck!

Ooh potatoes sound lovely! Hope the side effects were not too bad.. DD goes back to uni tomorrow. I shall miss her dearly but not the mess nor the constant pile of shoes by the front door…what is it with teenagers and all of the shoes by the front door? 😂
