Yes I’ve seen the MMP prices, so far they’re a lot cheaper than others that have released and they’re quite a small company so I’m keen to see what the bigger companies come out with.

It seems every pharmacy has worked 24/7! Oushk confirmed prices to be settled by the end of the week. It’ll be interesting to see if their £160-£320 estimate was off the mark.

Yes I’d imagine every pharmacy has been working the weekend to compensate for the influx of orders.

Cantonet · 18/08/2025 09:28

Every pharmacy apart from Asda 😞
Still no update or response from my Thursday order.
I don't understand how they're Oos of most strengths when they're taking 5-6 working days to process the orders.

@BendoftheBeginning I agree. People are so selfish. Stockpiling medicine leaves the rest of the customers risking not getting their meds

I get MJ through the NHS so don't have to pay, but I cannot order more than 7 days ahead so (quite rightly) can't stockpile.

There are not enough checks in place to ensure there is no abuse of the system. No one should be able to buy multiple pens from multiple suppliers.

With respect, if you get it prescribed by the NHS you wont understand the feeling of realising that you will probably have to stop in the next month or so, cold Turkey and half way through your weight loss journey, because you simply won’t be able to afford to carry on. The only way some of us can carry on for a bit longer is if we can buy a couple more pens at the “cheap” price. If I can manage to get the bundle I ordered I will be able to eke out doses and hopefully get to under 20lbs from my goal weight rather than having to stop 3.5 stones away. I’m hoping I’ll be strong enough to do it myself if I’ve not got a mamouth amount to go. If I have to do it myself with little ads to go I will probably fail. And stocks haven’t run out. There are still pharmacies selling. The supply of higher doses has always been a bit sticky. I won’t ever be going over 7.5mg now, I’ll have to keep lower to make weaning down quicker. I hate the position I’m in. I’d just found something that works, now I probably have to stop soon.

Apologies if already posted, MedicineMarketplace have publicised their prices from Sept
2.5mg £137
5mg £178
7.5mg £215
10mg £239
12.5mg £251
15mg £271

Price discrimination in action, once pens go over £200 per month there will plenty of households where anything above 5mg will be a real squeeze on finances. No criticism of any of the pharmacies - it’s a tough sector to be in and they are being squeezed by the manufacturers.

You can’t blame people for buying in advance if they are going to be saving £50 plus on each pen.

My chemist4U order from Thursday hasn’t been processed either, despite them taking a lot of money. I’m sure they are just swamped, and will get there. 🤞🤞

My pharmacy2u order didn’t send any emails until this morning but the pen was obviously already dispatched. So it might be there just busy sorting orders and then will release emails after. I’d much rather have it that way round that receive a load of emails and not my pen.

I also ordered from medicine market place as I panicked that P2U cancel my order as they’d cancelled others. Haven’t heard anything on that apart from an email on Saturday asking for verification videos and pictures.

I do really worry about how every pharmacy seems to be selling wegovy as the exact same as Mounjaro.

by all accounts it’s a very different drug, different side effects and potentially a lower efficacy. I worry people will be left disappointed

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/08/2025 09:41

Good grief. My husband is prescribed as he has diabetes. Had no idea how much it cost privately!

Asda is the one I am watching most keenly although I’m not a customer. My understanding is that Asda were “very happy” with the previous deal they had negotiated so I assume that they will be pushing hard for favourable terms. I also assume this is why they are keeping quiet for now.

Yes seems mad to me that mounjaro has been hailed as better than wegovy pretty much from the start. And now it’s just oh switch to wegovy it’s exactly the same. Screams money grabbing to me. Just sell them whatever as long as we keep their business.

They’re on the medicine market place website when you look at current prices it also says what the new price is.

Yeah Mounjaro was the “King Kong” of weight loss jabs a few months ago. I’m very lucky that I’ll be able to stay on, but I do think a lot of people will end up disappointed and struggling. I’m seeing a lot on socials who have just immediately jumped to wegovy with very little research

Ah! Duh, I didn’t click into a specific pen to see that - thank you! Appreciate it.

This is kind of ridiculous. How can you possibly identify with people who will probably have to stop cold turkey before they have lost the weight when you get prescribed through the NHS (and no, that doesn’t make you more deserving - I have a friend with all the same comorbidities as me who happens to live in a different postcode so gets it on the nhs)?

please think before contributing to threads where “you’re alright jack” and some people are seriously being tipped into suicidal ideation at the thought of losing access to something that has given them their life back.

Maaate · 18/08/2025 10:42

I'm currently with Cloud and taking 10mg.

lve not had anything from them about this yet, hopefully I will be able to get another 10mg before the end of August and will then have enough time to decide what to do next. I really can't afford more than £200 so I'll either have to drop down to maintenance earlier or perhaps switch to wegovy

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 18/08/2025 10:45

Well I have made a major cock up. My last order was 25 June because med express took so long to approve it I asked them to delay postage. Then I didn't take my pen on holiday. So Bolt have rightly pointed out that it's Bern eight weeks. I have upload my photo of that part used pen so hopefully they will approve. I don't want to restart at 2.5mg. Feel so stupid and I was already stressed!

What is time limit for reorders? 6 weeks? Or 8 weeks?

ThatMerryLemonSquid · 18/08/2025 10:53

Just seen this email. Apparently some of the smaller pharmacies were not able to stock from their wholesaler
I Was counting on new stock this week for a pen 😅

Just had an email from Asda @Cantonet saying they will look at my order from last Thursday this Thursday (21st) so a while week to ‘approve’ never mind send out. I know they are all busy but my order was before all this started. I’ve only got one dose left. Grrr shoddy behaviour and contact from them. I only use them as I can collect from store which I prefer.

Agree. Voy keep saying the efficacy is similar. But they’re talking about comparing a high strength not licensed for UK yet (7.5mg) that will likely cost even more than Mounjaro when it comes to market - plus it’s still not AS effective. Kind of destroys their credibility

Gingercar · 18/08/2025 11:13

I think they’re all just desperate to hang onto clients. They know they are going to lose a lot of us when prices go up. What a mess this is.

Yes Oushk are doing this too. Talking about 7.2mg which is not on the market yet.

This pricing of the 7.2 will be insane. Oushk prices 2.4mg at £270, which is the same as 15 from MMP

timba · 18/08/2025 11:31

I am unclear what people are expecting here. The prices have been increased by Lilly - yet some people on this thread are shooting accusations at the providers who are trying to find the next best solution so patients can have some options. People can decide to stay on Mounjaro and pay more, move to Wegovy - which looks a great option for the price vs kg lost. I think people get obsessed by marginal percentages when actually in the grand scheme of things it likely doesn't matter much if you are obese.

The 7.2mg dose for Wegovy is coming very soon - and I highly expect top providers like Voy will have access to it sooner if they are talking about it. The pricing also isn't released, but I expect Novo will ensure they keep it competitive to give patients a compelling option whilst Lilly is jumping to the Donald Trump beat.

Honestly why are people so negative and cynical - what do they expect these companies to do??! They are doing what all doctors do, they are suggesting you the next best alternative that is cost-effective....drugs go up and down in prices and out of stock all the time!

HereIGoOnceMore · 18/08/2025 11:38

Whilst I agree that major providers will have access to better pricing and supply, I think we should probably be mindful that many of the providers with big Facebook followings are not actually significant providers.
