Glad you are doing ok @RussianDoll76.Thats interesting re the stored fat - I feel like MJ literally just dissolved my belly - my stomach is now pretty crinkly as it’s all gone but I can feel that it’s tightening up as I do a lot of core work. It’s a game changer in so many ways.

I’ve also slowed on 2.5mg and been really hungry this week. Not sure how it will pan out - in terms of loss. Will weigh on Monday and see! I have a 5mg pen but I’ve only been doing 2.5mg doses from it. I’m pretty much at my original goal but the temptation to just try to lose a bit more is quite strong. Just giving myself a buffer and using up the end of this last pen, whilst I have it. I might try a mid way dose but not this week coming as I have a huge week ahead and need to be in good shape.

Huge milestone for me this morning, I'm 2st 1lb down and no longer obese! Still not quite a full dress size down yet - I must have been really squeezing into my clothes before! About 3 to 3.5 stone till target, so will be around for a while yet.

I'm still microdosing every 3 days to keep my levels steady, taking the equivalent of 2.9mg per week.

Well done on everyone's successes, it's so motivating to hear.

Good to hear that you're coping OK RussianDoll76, amazing that you've managed to plough on with MJ despite all you've got going on.

SomethingAboutYou · 12/09/2025 10:07

Week 15 Day 7 so weigh day. I'm on 3.75mg at the moment, with a 2.5mg pen coming next so hoping the move down isn't too bad. 2.5 was all my provider had left in the august palaver. Sort of glad as the cost of the higher doses is ridiculous.

Lost 1.4lbs this week so I'm 2lb away from my first goal (which is pre-baby weight) 🎉 I stalled towards end of august so glad to be moving downwards again. Oh and I've finally lost 10kg and I'm a tiny 0.4lb away from losing 10% body weight. Yeeeeesssss!!!!

SW: 16stone (101.7kg)
CW: 14st 6 (91.6kg)
First goal: 14st 4
My bmi is still 38 (I'm verrrry short so a long way to go but I'm inching in the right direction!)

finalpunt · 12/09/2025 14:36

@SomethingAboutYou I was 3lbs off target but had decided to reduce down dose and rely more on will power. I couldn't cope with suppression or SE on 5mg so had been using 3.75mg.
Last week started my final pen (Friday) and reduced down to 2.5mg. I was fine Saturday, seemed like normal suppression, not particularly hungry but ate normal meals. Sundays I really struggled to eat previously but found I could eat a small roast. Monday I was really hungry and starting to panic a bit. I ate breakfast as normal put was really hungry about an hour before I was due to go for lunch, as I was at work I had to wait anyway so just had a large drink of water to tide me over. Ate lunch and then was ok until about 5/6 and then couldn't feel hunger kicking in again. Rest of week I wouldn't say I have been particularly hungry but I have had to be careful to make sure I am taking high protein low calorie snack for mid morning and afternoon.
I have definitely noticed I am eating larger portion of my evening meal but they are usually calorie counted between 600 to 750 cals anyway so eating all of it is fine (I just couldn't do it on higher doses).
Lost 1.5lb this week though so really pleased with that.
I do yoyo with feeling like I'm doing the right thing reducing down as I am where I wanted to be but also staying on it longer to try and drop another st.

SomethingAboutYou · 12/09/2025 16:11

@finalpunt I haven't really felt much suppression in the way of not being able or wanting to eat throughout my whole journey so I've had some hungry days as you described even on 2.5mg initially and 3.75mg now. I have seen a massive reduction in the food noise and the need to eat everything sweet in sight so if that continues on 2.5 I'll be happy! Perhaps if prices come down a bit as sales drop I can return to the 5mg pen but we'll see! Well done on the 1.5lb loss, I think that low calorie high protein snack is probably the answer. I used to go for low protein high calorie snacks so switching that up is going to be crucial!

Xmasfairy86 · 13/09/2025 07:07

Week 15 for me. It’s been 12 days since my last jab, trying to eek out this 5mg pen for a bit!!
SW 106
CW 96
Suppression still present, glapp app says I have 1.55mg in my body currently so I’m wondering about ordering a 2.5 pen - if I can find one - before determining my fate.

anyone switched to wegovey?

BadgerFace · 13/09/2025 08:00

I was feeling a bit despondent on my weigh in day on Thursday as my stone & pound weight hadn’t changed when I’d had a really good week of no alcohol and eating healthily. Per my lb weigh in I’d lost 0.8lb but I just want to see that stone & lb tick down when I am two pounds off my original goal weight. And this morning the scales had gone up an lb from last week.

But today I am feeling better about it. I uploaded my weight into my fitness pal for the first time in 6 weeks and it reminded me that I have lost 21 pounds on this journey. I’d have never done that without MJ and that’s 12% of my starting weight.

I’ve started a second 5mg pen this week but I’m feeling quite hungry so trying to decide whether to move up to 7.5mg and aim for my aspirational goal weight over the next couple of months or stick on 5mg with a view to maintaining possibly instead. It’s hard to know what to do when it’s a lot of money per month…

SW 12 stone 2
CW 10 stone 9
GW 10 stone 7
Aspirational GW 10 stone 2

RussianDoll76 · 13/09/2025 08:20

12 wks officially tomorrow for me. Weighed today and after seeing no movement I did microdose midweek (weds evening) of 1.25 ml which is actually what was left after my golden dose 😳. Today I have had a shift of a couple of pounds so I am very pleased and then I realised I am finally not obese (just) I am now overweight . My Dh doesn’t understand how happy that makes me 😂. I still have almost 3 stone to go as I’m quite a short arse. So now wondering was the microdose midweek the reason ? did it just shift anyway. I’ve eaten a bit more if anything is it that ? Totm has appeared could be that ? Constantly confused but learning more about how my body operates . Now I don’t know whether to continue on 2.5mg up to 3.75mg or micro dose mid week as I did this week 😩. I’m so rubbish at making decisions for me. 😂 .
NSV . Went shopping with ex dh yesterday and he was laughing hysterically at my jeans being so baggy. Convinced me to pop in next and try on jeans I did try various sizes and got my podgy butt in a size 12 been some time since I have been there was wearing 16’s and 18’s when I started. So very guiltily bought a pair. Then came home and secured 2 more pairs in different colours from vinted !!! For less than half I paid for one pair. Feels nice .
Something else I’ve noticed after being able to drink alcohol with no issues form the start I have completely gone off it in the last 2 weeks and the couple of times I did have a little I got heartburn and bad diarrhoea 🤔. Just when I think I’ve got things sussed.

I’ve been contemplating micro dosing because come day 6&7 I feel really hungry.
I take it you are taking 1.25mg every 3 days? I’m on the 5mg dose and have contemplated doing 2.5mg every 4days which will lower my dose a bit but my blood MJ according to Shotsy will remain above 3.3mg which is when I feel hungry.
did you start micro dosing early on?

ChiaraMontague · 13/09/2025 10:40

90.6kg today which is JUST under 200lb - I’m in one-derland for the first time in 10+ years

Yes, I'm currently taking 1.25mg every 3 days from a 5mg pen, so 0.15ml. I started on week 3 and adjusted the dose by tiny amounts each time until I hit the sweet spot. I've been ordering the next pen up each time, so will be moving to a 7.5mg soon, but will continue with the 1.25mg dose unless the suppression wears off. It certainly helps to keep the cost down as well as the dose more stable through the week for me.

It does mean using the pens well past the recommended 30 days, but I have a science background and I'm happy that I'm taking precautions to minimise any risks. There's plenty of anecdotal evidence from others doing this under the guidance of doctors in other parts of the world.

One thing I did find is that the standard 1ml insulin syringes are too big to accurately measure the tiny 0.15ml required (will be even smaller with the bigger dose pens). So I managed to find some 0.3ml insulin syringes on Amazon of all places. They are BD brand, which is well known and good quality, so I'm happy with them being sterile.

waitingforlifeonmars · 13/09/2025 13:54

@WishiwasgardeningThank you. I am about to start a 7.5mg pen dosing 5mg! I’ve weighed up the risks also. I mean I don’t keep my ketchup in the fridge or my jam, I’ve used eyedrops well beyond the 4week limit abd after another person has used them and have eaten cooked chicken stored for a day(in winter!) in the oven not the fridge!😂😂😂
I’ll see how my food noise is over the next day or so and if it’s bad i think I’ll give micro dosing a go, 2.5mg every 4 days, and that will also allow me to adjust my dosing day too. My only problem is I go on holiday in Oct and only wanted to take 1 dose (calculated it to be the golden dose so taking a syringe!) whilst away but I’m sure I can figure out how to titrate (also science background) up to full dose before I go or just take an extra syringe with me!!

Catladyof7 · 13/09/2025 16:45

Just logging this one .🍾

Day 7 , week 13.

Halfway there 🍾. , today hit 2 stone off .
Starting weight 13 stone.
Today 10 stone 13 .
Goal wright is 9 stone .

Loss has slowed a little to 1lb a week at the moment.
On my 4th dose of 7.5mg and jab day today .
I have another 7.5mg pen in the fridge which i may stay on and see how things go for another month .
I will be doing the golden dose next week.

Wishiwasgardening · 13/09/2025 17:27

@waitingforlifeonmars that sounds like a good plan.

I have to confess that when I went away camping in the summer I took a pre-filled syringe rather than risking taking a pen. I just filled it as usual, replaced the needle cover, wrapped in kitchen paper then stored in in my electiric toothbrush case in my toiletry bag. It was only for a few days though and I was in the UK, so no chance of it looking like a dodgy substance at airport security!

FoxRedPuppy · 13/09/2025 19:52

Well done everyone!

I’ve just done my first golden dose! Was so easy. Feel daft for not doing it before. I got 0.8 out, which is good. I’m jabbing a day early because I started wandering the kitchen looking for food and snacks.

Focusispower · 13/09/2025 19:56

I’m wondering if I’ve got in a dosing muddle with my 5mg pen. It’s 30 clicks for a half dose right? Regardless of pen strength..45 clicks for 3/4 and then 60 clicks for a full dose? I don’t feel like what I’m taking is having much effect. Maybe 12 weeks is really the limit for 2.5mg.

Loving all the NSVs and mini goals. Here I’ve gone from no one noticing weightloss to having a raft of comments on it these last few days.

SomethingAboutYou · 13/09/2025 19:58

I've done the opposite - jabbed a day late as I forgot last night 🫣

Just had a look at the M&S xmas food email....good god it all looked marvellous! It's going to be an interesting 3 months, navigating all these wonderful foods and ads 😬

I think there is a limit to the doses. That’s where I am with the 5mg. When I come back from holiday I’m going to 7.5mg.

Yuck. Just forced myself to eat half a dozen tinned prunes (think you all know why). Used to love these but they’re so sweet!!
weight has been hovering around 89.5/90 despite a good week with plenty of exercise, and no snacking despite hunger creeping back in on days 4-7. Also drinking loads and loads of water, weeing all the time.
NSV though - my blood pressure is down. It is often higher than the normal range despite medication, and now it’s normal! I’d love to come off the medication so will keep monitoring.
Tried on a pair of size 18s and got them zipped up but really didn’t look good with massive stomach bulging over the top! Has anyone tried shapermint shaping vests or similar? I don’t care that much that I want to put on Spanx every day, but something with a bit of support to stop the bulge would be nice to go under jumpers

Fantastic NSV. I tried all sorts for constipation. The only thing that eventually worked was magnesium glycinate 3 in 1 by nutrition geeks. Or laxatives, which I hated taking. The magnesium has helped with my sleep also, I now longer wake 4-5 times a night, now only wake once or twice- which is amazing. These are the only supplements I use!

This just made so much sense to me. I had a little constipation issues around jab day the last few weeks, however this week I've been able to go much more often and I couldn't work out what had changed. I started MG 3-in-1 last week 😂

Loving all the NSV and losses. I think what works for one, doesn't work for another. There are people who have done the whole journey on 2.5mg with a lot to lose. But we are all.different.

Thanks for the recommendation! I’m always a bit reluctant to try new stuff because I’m on so many meds and it’s such a pain to check each one to make sure there’s no issues with taking supplements but if this goes on I’m definitely going to need to.

You can’t take magnesium if you are calcium blockers, usually used for heart conditions/disease.
