So just weighed and the 4lb I lost when I was unwell has gone back on, no surprise
I didn't jab last week and knew I'd eaten a lot more. Back to it today.

MissMogs · 09/09/2025 08:35

Hooray the scales moved! Down into the 80s at last! Pretty sure it’ll jump back up again tomorrow, but celebrating this while I can 😂

Gingercar · 09/09/2025 09:32

Puffalicious · 08/09/2025 23:18

Thank you so much. That's lifted me. I know my friend lost too quickly, it's just so frustrating when I'm doing everything right & I've lost ONE pound overall in 4 weeks 😪. If it was 1lb a week I'd be fine with that.

I don't have terribly bad habits actually- I'm pescatarian, intermittent fast, don't over-eat, limit sugar etc. MJ is all about the weight I've put on in peri/ menopause. I really do appreciate your time & care. I'll just keep on!

HappyWineday Checked TDEE & maintenance calories are 1900-2100, so aiming for 1200-1400 should be perfect for losses. I eat minimal carbs & aim for decent protein.

Today, for example:

10% Greek Yogurt with berries & flaked almonds.
Tuna & boiled egg salad (tomatoes/ spinach/ leaves/ pepper/ cucumber)
Home-made banana flapjack (oats/ banana/ butter only).
Apple
Tea with milk
Peppermint tea
Loads of water

1200 calories

Maybe it's sleep? I do need to get more.

Rathertardy I hadn't heard of Chequp, I'll look them up, thank you.

Hope it’s ok to comment, but this doesn’t look like much food to me. Were you fasting for one meal? I think I’d be hungry.
I don’t bother counting calories, I just try to eat healthy, whole food and aim for a balanced plate. I started with Voy and that’s their “method” which I love. I’m veggie. A typical day for me is -
A bowl of full fat Greek yogurt with strawberries, blueberries, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.
A semi skimmed flat white.
a banana
A large salad with baby leaves, beetroot, sliced peppers, baby tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pine nuts and edamame beans in balsamic vinegar with cubes of feta/mozzarella/halloumi.
an apple
Small portion of whole meal pasta with tinned tomatoes, onions, leeks, courgettes, peppers and mushrooms. Topped with grated cheddar.
Full fat Greek yogurt with grapes and sunflower seeds.

I don’t get much suppression, am on week 16/17 and have to use willpower too. I quite like that, I’ve just gone up to 6mg now. I feel like I can (and do!) eat pretty large portions, I just try to keep a lot of it veg.

Thanks for that. Ov course it's okay, advice always appreciated.

I only eat 2 meals a day, I'm not a breakfast person & intermittent fast until 11am. I then have the Greek full fat yogurt - often with oats & lots of seeds too (I did have seeds yesterday, but didn't write it). I had the flaphack at 3pm (v filling) & I then had the salad at 6pm- it was large & had lots in it (3 eggs, full tin of tuna too). It did all come to 1200 calories. I don't usually calorie count- for ne too it's about wholefoods & health- but with losing 1lb in 4 weeks I did count yesterday & am aiming to for this week to see if it makes a difference.

I'm not a big eater, never have been. Although my nemesis is cheese & bread, which I'm avoiding presently! Like I said, my weight has been menopausal. I only have 15lbs to go, but that's significant, as it's taking me to the top of my healthy BMI (as a youngster I was at the bottom, and even after 3 kids I was in the middle) & it should be totally achievable.

We cook from scratch for DP & our boys every night, but I'll often not fancy it & just have salad/ soup/ fish instead- lighter food. I Ironically I'm a feeder, showing my care through lovely, healthy food!

I also walk fast most days for an hour. Not high intensity exercise, but it suits me.

Any advice most welcome.

Gingercar · 09/09/2025 10:58

It definitely is good to write it down. Fingers crossed that you get a whoosh.
How do you make the flapjack? Does it work out low calorie? (interested as I have a cafe and do a lot of regular flapjacks).

Ooh, you have a cafe! How fabulous.

Just standard flapjacks- oats/ butter/ bananas/ cinnamon. I leave out the golden/ maple syrup as the banana binds it. Sometimes fling in sultanas. The boys like melted chocolate on top of their batch (they would, of course!), but I see it as non upf, so definitely better than processed for them, & slow burning energy for older teens who are inclined to grab whatever they can that's easy. DS1 lives at uni & requests a load when home as he freezes them. So they must be alright!

Don't think they're low calorie, I estimate about 300 per each one, but decent calories & proper food, so worth it for me some days. I'm a teacher, so I can flag when school finishes, so they're good for the 3pm hunger/ energy requirement!

ToddlerMumma · 09/09/2025 12:15

The good news … I’m 11stone 13lbs!! I haven’t seen 11 stone for around a decade 😆

the bad news … just ordered my next 7.5mg pen and it was £250 from Med Express, Ouchy

I’m sticking with 7.5mg again (3rd pen) as the suppression is still good on this dose

Bloozie · 09/09/2025 15:13

I don't know if anyone remembers but I don't weigh myself. I kind of did, before I started mounjaro, but I was too heavy for my mechanical scales 😳and they span around again to what I estimated to be about 21 stone, though this isn't accurate.

My dh recently bought some proper digital scales, and I've had to weigh myself because of a few medical issues I've had (nothing to do with mounjaro).

I'm a bit worried I'm losing weight too quickly.

I weighed myself last Tuesday and I was 18 stone 5. Which means I've lost about 22kg over 10 weeks on 2.5mg, accepting that my starting weight is a guess. Optically, it tracks though, as my physical transformation is pretty radical. Don't get me wrong, I'm still obese, I have a long way to go - but my body shape has transformed.

On Sunday I was trying on old clothes and thought I looked like I'd lost even more weight, so I weighed myself again, and I was 18 stone on the nose.

I know that hormones and water play a massive part in things, but 5lb in 5 days is a lot, when I'm this far into the journey.

I eat 1200 good quality calories a day, and I'm not finding it hard either to eat them, or avoid eating more. I don't feel like I need to move up to 5mg. I COULD eat more, but it feels daft.

I'll keep an eye on it now I've started to weigh myself.

Edited to add what I am eating:

I don't eat breakfast - I never have

Lunch - large dressed salad with seeds, a cheese and a meat. Or maybe a jacket potato with cheese & beans. Today I made 2 chicken fajitas using leftovers from last night's dinner. A piece of fruit for pudding if I feel like I can eat it.

Dinner - a Hello Fresh meal, anything between 600 to 1000 calories depending on what it is.

Snacks - if I feel i need more fuel, because I'm not feeling hunger, a portion of homemade popcorn.

3 nights a week I have a whole bottle of white wine. Don't judge me.

I drink at least 2 litres of water a day, plus black coffee with a sweetener in the morning and the odd Pepsi Max.

Gingercar · 09/09/2025 18:05

Wow Bloozie, that’s a great start, but I understand your concerns. You know we use more calories when we’re carrying more weight, so what you’re eating is probably quite low. You could add in a bit more, see if it slows down a little?

FattyBumBum17 · 10/09/2025 14:13

Does anyone else use Pharmelous? I’m an existing customer but since they’ve introduced their new updated website I can’t find where to re-order without doing a new consultation! Is it just me being thick?

waitingforlifeonmars · 10/09/2025 17:20

Been battling to lose my holiday pile on(4lb) as I only lose about 1lb a week. But NSV are being able to pull down my jeans without undoing them (don’t ask why I think this is a nsv!), walking round Tesco and having to hitch up my jeans! Still along way off the lower size thanks to my thunder thighs. Also- I am now overweight and no longer Obese! Grin I have 4lb to lose to get to a complete 4 stone loss (3 lost on SW miserably, 9lb put back on after I stalled (for 9months!) and gave up SW, and that 9lb plus the rest on MJ. )
I had my first reaction at injection site the jab before last. This last one was done with a syringe and went in deeper and no reaction. Keeping an eye on it, may purchase longer pen needles if necessary.
To mitigate the cost, I’m risking 5mg doses out of 7.5mg pen. It a choice I’ve made and will see how I get on, no doubt it’ll not work out as I’d hoped and I’ll need to up my dose anyway!!
Using Shotsy app, and the brilliant people on here showing where to look, I have noticed I get hungry around 3.3mg MJ blood level. I have contemplated injecting 2.5ml every 4 days to keep my MJ blood level at 4.4mg ish and may revisit this if I struggle again at the back end of this week!

Puffalicious · 10/09/2025 17:57

Well done on getting to 'over-weight' wanting - doesn't it feel great?! Well done on 4 stone - that's marvellous!

Laughing at your NSV! Mine- despite stalling hugely at present- was clocking my legs in black, workout leggings in a shop window yesterday 🙈🤣. Didn't recognise my legs 😅.

Almost snap! I'm 11st 12 (was 11st 11 & put on last week- bah!). Got 16lbs to go. What's your GW?

I'll be a size 12 at 10st 10 - am teetering on that edge - old ones fit but too tight yet.

I'm back to 2 5mg as it was all I could get. Was on 3.75mg but we'll see how I go. Suppression not that much different to be honest. How's 7.5? I'm scared of SE & also the cost!

FoxRedPuppy · 10/09/2025 18:07

I love a good clothes NSV! I love not having to faff with zips and buttons, I would take that as a win. I had to buy a new pair of size 16 jeans today. I’ve only one pair that fit and they are falling apart. Despite managing a 14 in other things, I can’t quite manage it for jeans. And as loss is slowing I thought I should.

SW 88kg
CW 72.4kg
GW 65kg.

I am 0.3 from being a BMI of 25!

SomethingAboutYou · 10/09/2025 19:26

I had a jeans nsv too! My fave were loose so the bottoms were dragging on the floor, but my XL belt wasn't doing anything! So I bought an L size belt and I'm ond the 3rd notch in 🎉 i expected it to be on the 1st notch and tight but it's not! Can't wait to buy a Medium belt next!

Been a bit more disciplined this week so hoping to get moving down the scales again soon. I'm on a 5mg pen taking 3.75mg at the moment and will be dropping to 2.5mg next month so need to get my head back in the game before then! Why does August always derail things?!

Sogfree · 10/09/2025 23:21

Been on 5mg for the last 2 months. I'm definitely feeling the suppression waning by day 5. Not wanting to go up to 7.5mg, as I want to start exercising willpower to help me long term.

Crinklecat · 10/09/2025 23:29

just posting the link again for MJ prices for anyone looking to get their next pen (cheapest 7.5mg is £175 today)

I’m still on 5mg and I’m relying mostly on willpower I think. And I still have another 5mg pen! But I’m going away on Monday for my trek in the desert and mountains and I was planning on skipping a week (not faffing with keeping pen below 30 in a desert in a tent). My golden dose before I go will be 6mg.

I think I’ll order a 7.5mg ready for when I get back.

FoxRedPuppy · 11/09/2025 07:01

I figure I’ll be off it for a week, not it won’t reduce too much, but also I’ll be hiking between 15 and 20km a day, so helpfully will help.

Gingercar · 11/09/2025 08:18

I’m sure you’ll be fine with all that exercise for a week! Have a fabulous time. Please tell us all about it afterwards.

Puffalicious · 11/09/2025 10:47

It sounds AWESOME. Have the BEST time.

healthjourney · 11/09/2025 15:21

Hi everyone, I'm just back from a week away where I decided not to jab so I am now 13 days since my last dose (still on 2.5mg). It's been really nice to be able to eat slightly bigger portions and enjoy meals out.

It was interesting that it didn't seem to wear off as fast as I expected, day 8-11 felt very similar to what day 6 or 7 normally does. But yesterday and today the hunger has hit hard! I've eaten MUCH bigger portions and found myself hungry between meals for the first time in 13 weeks!

I'm looking forward to getting back to it, my normal jab day is Saturday but I might take it tomorrow just to get back on track sooner.

MissMogs · 11/09/2025 15:34

Lots of people seem to report the same about the hunger coming back strong when they come off or leave a bigger gap. I always find it surprising because my experience of dieting in the past is that after a while “my stomach shrinks” (presumably not literally!) but I don’t seem quite as hungry. You’d think eating smaller portions for lots of weeks would have the same effect! Maybe it’s a chemical change which the MJ is imitating but not making lasting changes to. Who knows! It’s disappointing it happens though as makes me v worried about what happens when I stop.
back into the 90s again today. Curse those scales!!

Tinybirdie · 11/09/2025 17:36

Another pound down taking total to 2 stone.
I am finding 5mg tough as well and just started another 5mg pen today. I am too scared to go up any more. My constipation is not yet under control!

RussianDoll76 · 11/09/2025 18:57

Hi everyone, lots to catch up on .

Thank you for the messages i appreciate you all. Busy time with appointments tests and all sorts of stuff going on. I am ok though.

Still been doing as I should diet wise but in the past 4 weeks going up and down the same lb has been so very frustrating. I have remained on 2.5mg but I feel I may have to accept its not working as effectively so maybe a cautionary 3.75 mg next jab. I don’t feel hungry as such but when I want to eat it’s not the clean eating I’ve been wanting. I thought I could keep losing slowly with 2.5 and work with food noise and hunger returning and I have been doing that but not losing any weight is making it so much harder.

Spoke with the pharmacist earlier and they said the jab also regulates the way your body burns stored fat so if that’s not working it’s a sign to up the dose . It’s not just anboit the hunger anmd food noise . Enjoyed seeing all your nsv’s and sorry to see some of you having a bad time . Here’s to better times ahead . Nice to be back 😊
