Great progress!

Which walking pad do you have? I have been looking into them…

I have this one, I’m happy with it and have genuinely used it every day since I bought it mid April. It’s quiet but not silent, I wear noise cancelling headphones and usually listen to the Prodigy whilst walking so I don’t hear a thing!! You can get it without the frame but I wanted somewhere to put my phone and water bottle!

12 weeks in. Went from 80.6kg to 72.2kg. Feels like not a lot compared to everyone else! I am still pleased with the results and plan to carry on!

I am losing slowly too.
Average 1-2lb a week.
No idea how some have lost so much in a week.
Just read someone has lost around 8 lb in a week. ! Thats over a month for me .
So far not been ill .

I took my first 7.5 two weeks ago , was fine and ate ok .
Second week i took it ..i felt like i had eaten 6 Xmas dinners, one after another .
I did eat Saturday night , obviously not big meals like before i started.
That night i felt so full, then Sunday till Wednesday i could barely eat .
Had to eat very small meals and then only one a day.

Not sure what to do later as its jab day .
If to carry on with 7.5. But i cant not eat again for 3 days as makes me light headed .
Go back to 5 mg where i got some food noise.
Try inbetween and do 6mg ?

I would try 6mg as 7.5mg sounds too much at this stage.

Hey folks,

I've stalled! Getting a bit down-hearted as I want to lose this last 15lbs, be a healthy BMI & hopefully a size 12.

I've not eaten any differently & it's either 1lb or nothing these past 4 weeks. If it was 1lb a week I'd be grand with that, but it's the zero loss in between the 1lbs.

Perhaps exercise been a little less, but not much, & I'm keeping well within the 1200-1400 calories.

Unfortunately I couldn't get a 5mg pen for love nor money. My pharmacy had zero stock over 2 whole weeks, & no-one else would touch me as I wasn't an existing customer/ BMI lower than 30. I had to take a 2.5mg pen, so that'll be my dose as of Monday (was on 3.75mg before) & I'm worried that I'll lose even less or just maintain.

What are folk paying for 5mg now? And where?

thanks

I think some stalling and slowing are normal in weight loss. Maybe your body is just adjusting?

mine has really slowed. I’m making sure I still log all my food to ensure my calories. Especially as suppression has worn off, so I can make sure I’m really eating what I think I am. I also re checked my TDEE for my current weight, and now definitely need to only eat 1200 and not 1400.

Xmasfairy86 · 06/09/2025 18:28

the snacking has increased for me 🤦🏽‍♀️ feel stuck. I am loosing, just slower than I’d like! Especially with the financial threat of not being able to continue.

After a stressful period including a holiday I need to up my movement. That has stalled and I don’t seem to have the mojo to pick it back up.

my PT asked for progress photos and I look no different after a 12 week cycle. Despite loosing 10kg - that is massively disheartening for me 😐 some of my clothes are looser but no idea where this weight has come off as I’m still in my original weight clothes.

HappyWineDay · 07/09/2025 09:57

I’ve beeen losing around 1.5lb/week for tge last month but had rather a naughty day yesterday! We took my mum and her partner (who has Alzheimer’s) out for the day. We went to a bit of a fancy restaurant and I ended up with a steak, Madeira jus and - triple cooked chips 😱. To be fair I didn’t eat that many of the chips, after a few I didn’t fancy them, even though they were delicious. Couldn’t face a dessert. At the end of the meal I was stuffed and thought that’s that itch scratched!
I got home, sat in front of the tv and felt pretty nauseous all evening. Couldn’t even face a Saturday night glass of wine 😂
And bizarrely today I’ve lost 1/2lb.

You're probably right, thank you. But it felt like a big deal because that was actually the first time I'd had any potato since I started on Mj back at the start of June!

I know you're right, but a month of MJ is an expensive 2lb loss.

I'll double check TDEE thanks for the reminder.

SunandMoor · 08/09/2025 09:04

Wk 14 in 5mg - have lost half a pound. In a month I have lost 3.8lb so weight loss has slowed a lot but I have been away. In total 1st 10lb but still have 2 stone to go! It does seem a lot of money when you lose slowly but I suppose if I was not on MJ I would not have lost anything because I have never in my life kept a diet going 14 weeks! Keep going everyone I enjoy reading your posts. As an aside does anyone else have the most bizarre dreams on MJ!

MissMogs · 08/09/2025 09:40

my loss has slowed too, although I have been increasing. I took 0.65ml of bonus dose yesterday (8.25mg) and feeling the nausea back this morning. I have a new 7.5mg pen in the fridge to use, so next dose will be lower but I might take them closer together to keep levels higher.
Bouncing around 91kg, desperate to see the 80s!! Then I remind myself it wasn’t long ago I was desperate to get under 100, so there is progress, it’s just slow!
still wearing the same size 20s, but they’re a bit looser. Tried an 18 and it did up but was waaaaay too tight so not gone down a dress size yet.
on we plod!

Puffalicious · 08/09/2025 10:15

Morning update is that I've put ON 1lb this week! Honestly, I'm almost for giving up. My bloody menopausal body is royally pissing me off. 😠

It's too expensive to have lost 1lb in 4 weeks!

A friend of mine has stayed on 2.4mg, is the same age as me & lost 4 stone in 5 months. I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong. Sigh.

Have you looked at the type of food you're eating, as well as the calories? I've stuck with a low carb diet and personally found it really beneficial with the weight loss.
But if you haven't lost weight over an extended period (so it's not just a short term variation) then ultimately either you're having too many calories or miscounting somehow, don't you think?
Don't be disheartened though, you will be able to get back on track!

FoxRedPuppy · 08/09/2025 12:57

I’ve decided to boost my food a bit and really focus on fibre now that my protein is pretty good.

Im making an effort this week to eat new things/meals. I’ve just had a tuna salad as I’ve been having protein bagels with eggs and salmon for weeks now.

No idea if it will work.

Gingercar · 08/09/2025 15:18

I think it’s natural for weight loss to slow a little. If you read back through previous month’s starters posts you’ll see people talking about it a lot. Your body has to readjust a bit on the way to goal. It’s not normal, or particularly healthy, to lose 4 stones in 5 months, even if a few people do (and even though we’d all secretly love it!). Slower progress and establishing good habits, plus tackling what helped get us where we were (ie, I was a total sugar addict and a comfort eater) is the best way forward and most likely to help keep it off.

I’ve done 15 weeks. The first two five week periods I lost a stone each. In the third five week period I’ve only lost half a stone, despite not doing anything different. It’s easy to feel fed up, but it’s still plodding on in the right direction. (And you can remind me of this when I’m having a down day!)

Apologies if you have all learned this already, but I have had skin reactions to the alcohol swab and I guess also the injection. I had a word with chatGPT today because husband doesn’t know about all of this (none of his beeswax) and I suspect the skin irritation will eventually give me away. Anyway, hydrocortisone is the answer- in 8 hours it has improved a nasty injection site so much it looks almost invisible. As you were……

The alcohol swab is for the red pad in the one, not for your skin. There is no need to swab your skin as long as it is generally clean.

I'm 5 foot 5

Edited

CheqUp have emailed me to say they're keeping the same price for 2m.5 and 5ml doses

My weigh day was yesterday and I lost 2lb last week. I'm delighted. My weightloss slowed massively over the last 6 weeks due to not being at work, but I was back n on it last week and I'm thrilled it's made a difference.
The 2lb took me down a big number, so I'm in the 13s now, AND I'm officially overweight, not obese.
So that's the inspiration I needed. Especially as my tummy, particularly my lower tummy is still so big.

Sorry to sound tone deaf while many of you are struggling. I am hearing you all. I think I'm probably a way behind most of you due to taking my foot off the pedal in August. So I'm happy to be back on it properly.
I'm also happy I didn't do my normal thing of putting ALL the weight I'd lost in june/July back on (and then some). I'm happy to be on a marathon, not a sprint.

I stayed on 2.5 deliberately in order to have an easier summer, and take my first dose of 5 this week, so nervous of SEs.

Keep on keeping on, people, you're all doing really well.
A small loss is still a loss, and it all adds up.

FoxRedPuppy · 08/09/2025 19:58

Not tone deaf! We can celebrate wins and support stalls

The alcohol swab is for the red pad in the one, not for your skin. There is no need to swab your skin as long as it is generally clean.

This might be complete rubbish, so feel free to ignore.
When I was a teenager, a beauty consultant-type person said our pores slightly overlap (a bit like fish scales). This was around me bemoaning being spotty. She said you should put on foundation using downward movements, rather than forcing it up between pores.

Like I said, this could be tosh.
But if you're going to wipe skin prior to injecting, maybe wipe downwards, not up and not in a circular motion? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Focusispower · 08/09/2025 21:25

I have lost 9kg in 11 weeks so not dissimilar but pretty consistent 1lb or so a week after a couple of bigger loses in the first month. I’m happy with the results as like other folks, I’d been trying to lose this weight for almost three years, since I went back to work after my last DC. I didn’t really gain but I yo-yo’d around the same 3-4lb over and over again.

i was reading a maintenance thread yesterday and a poster there had suffered nerve damage from losing too fast. They’d really pushed in through higher doses at pace and done themselves some lasting damage. I think slow and steady (obviously cost is a challeng though) has got to be so much better.

I can’t afford to maintain and I also have never gone above 2.5mg as I seem to lose on that dose so not sure what would be recommended for maintenance in my case. I am nervous about coming off as I’ve definitely seen improvements in inflammation and gut health - I’m never ever bloated now whereas before I was always bloated! Had very few headaches, generally been ok. The biggest downsides for me have been sleep - really disrupted for the first 5 nights every week then a couple of better ones and also feeling anxious/flat. I am hoping that these lift but the bloating and headaches stay away when I stop.

Thank you so much. That's lifted me. I know my friend lost too quickly, it's just so frustrating when I'm doing everything right & I've lost ONE pound overall in 4 weeks 😪. If it was 1lb a week I'd be fine with that.

I don't have terribly bad habits actually- I'm pescatarian, intermittent fast, don't over-eat, limit sugar etc. MJ is all about the weight I've put on in peri/ menopause. I really do appreciate your time & care. I'll just keep on!

HappyWineday Checked TDEE & maintenance calories are 1900-2100, so aiming for 1200-1400 should be perfect for losses. I eat minimal carbs & aim for decent protein.

Today, for example:

10% Greek Yogurt with berries & flaked almonds.
Tuna & boiled egg salad (tomatoes/ spinach/ leaves/ pepper/ cucumber)
Home-made banana flapjack (oats/ banana/ butter only).
Apple
Tea with milk
Peppermint tea
Loads of water

1200 calories

Maybe it's sleep? I do need to get more.

Rathertardy I hadn't heard of Chequp, I'll look them up, thank you.
