SW 13 stone 8
Loss this week 1lb
Current weight 11 stone 10
Goal weight around 10 stone (depends how wrinkly I am looking)
Week 13 (currently on 5mg)
Pleased I had a loss this week as I have felt hungry a fair bit and having to use some willpower to keep away from snack attacks. Like others, I dont see that as a bad thing. I need to learn willpower for when I am at maintenance stage.

SomethingAboutYou · 28/08/2025 14:52

Well done @Tinybirdie my willpower is waning a bit and although it hasn't gone completely awry I'm averaging on 1600-1800kcals a day rather than the 1400-1600 I was aiming for a month ago 🤦‍♀️

On the 'plus' side a photo of my face today showed it visibly slimmer but my eye wrinkles are now much much more obvious! At 40 the plump face sort of hid the wrinkles and people always seemed a bit surprised that I hit 40 this year. but I seem to have aged quite a bit in the last 3 months and I don't think they'd be quite as surprised anymore 😂

I’ve suddenly got stretch marks on my boobs! Assume they were always there, but stretched out. Now they are visible on my newly teeny sad bags!

@Focusispower sending love and a hug.
As someone else said, hope you can still enjoy the festival.

@Elsiedarlingputthekettleon the article you linked is behind a paywall. Would it be possible for you tell us what the article says? please

Hi, there is no paywall I just read it this morning and clicked on it again just now. But it basically is saying there is a shortage due to people stockpiling and pharmacies can't fulfill orders. Ely Lilly have now stopped supplying them so people can't stockpile prior to price rise. There has been a 400% surge in orders since the announced increase. Pharmacies with stock left are prioritising existing customers.

So Juniper have finally issued their updates prices for Mounjaro. It has to be said I am mighty pissed off with Juniper. When the Mounjaro price hikes were first mooted, they issued a webinar saying that if you switched to Wegovy it would be cheaper and painless. Then there was a lot of guff about the general wonderfulness of Wegovy so I thought why on Earth did I ever get prescribed Mounjaro as Wegovy is so terrific? Then what really got my goat was when the webinar said that Wegovy would be better for anyone taking thyroxine. Well, I take thyroxine and have done for years. Again the question, why did they ever prescribe Mounjaro in the first place? I got in touch and asked. Response was a lot of back tracking and soothing then they said, actually, I need to have my thyroid levels checked more regularly if I’m on Mounjaro and I must tell my GP. This had never been mentioned before.
So I’m losing faith. I’ve never like the ‘health coaching’ which is some random woman telling me I’m doing a terrific job as if I was four years old. I can’t understand the relationship between the website and the app and keep being referred to things that don’t seem to exist like a fabled blog.
Sorry to rant but my lovely nature is being sorely tested.
I will switch to Wegovy, save the money and stick it until November when I should reach my target weight. Hopefully my new ways of eating will see me though when I titrate down later.
I’ve lost I stone 9 lbs since June and have felt much stronger, even at 71 and naturally idle.

On a separate note I love this groups honesty, support and humour. The Juniper community on Facebook feels suspiciously curated!

That is really interesting and infuriating that they just threw out the “facts” about thyroxine and WLI with no back up.

I take thyroxine and Mounjaro, I spoke to my GP before I started on Mounjaro and asked if there was anything I should consider with thyroxine. The only thing he said was that we’ll redo my blood tests every 3 months because it’s possible I’ll need a lower dose of thyroxine as my weight goes down significantly (I’m aiming to lose 30-35kg which would be a third of my starting weight). So maybe that’s what they are trying to get at?

Oh no! So far my tiny boobs have stayed but I know their days are numbered 😂

I've just seen the new Asda prices.

I planned to stick to 5mg and can suck up an extra £60 a month, but not for long 😬

I’m disappointed with Asda prices as I like being able to collect in person. I will see how I go.

Yes, that's also why I like using Asda.

Mynewusersame · 28/08/2025 20:32

Evening all, so sorry to read @Focusispower. Must feel very strange but as others have said a loss is still a loss and you’re allowed to feel however you feel ❤️

Stayed the same for me this week, which on a previous diet would make me think it’s not working, might as well give up etc. but feel reassured that I know I’m doing everything right and weight loss will follow. Looking back at my daily weigh ins I seem to retain weight around ovulation rather than period so this is interesting to see. Expect to see scales moving down again over the weekend 🤞

Tinybirdie · 28/08/2025 21:31

Man, these prices. I can afford it, but it does make me sad at how out of reach it becomes for so many. I am hoping I can stay at 5mg so that doesn't seem such a hit. Asda prices are not too bad. Tribelle sent me an email and they are more expensive than Asda. Bloody Trump. As if I didn't despise him enough.
Is anyone shifting to Wegovy?

SomethingAboutYou · 28/08/2025 22:27

Not considered wegovy yet but will see how the 2.5mg pen goes next month. If that doesn't feel as good as it used to (I'm only on 3.75mg from a 5mg pen now so hoping I won't notice the drop down) then maybe switching to wegovy to save some money is the answer. Just worried that the price for that will go up too if demand goes up 🤷‍♀️

DownhillAllTheWay · 29/08/2025 09:25

NSV here - I am dressed entirely in size 16s. Jeans without stretch and I’m going to need a belt!

still losing weight oddly. My knees have lost fat and a couple of inches above them. But my thighs and hips are still large. My breasts have deflated immensely, both in cup size and banding, but my stomach is still round. My upper arms and elbows have lost fat so now there’s loose skin wafting gently in the breeze. No change to fingers or to foot width do far. My calves are doing very weird things, revealing varicose veins which have been hiding for years.

blood pressure down. Resting heart rate down. Was diagnosed with raised cholesterol which was the final tipping point to get me started on mounjaro; I’m wondering how long I should leave it before requesting they do another check.

14kg lost in 14 weeks.

SomethingAboutYou · 29/08/2025 09:30

WK13 D7 - weigh morning and jab evening. Lost 1.4lbs this week which is a bit of a surprise due to the higher cals I've been eating. I have however excercised more and walked more this week so maybe it balances out.

SW: 16stone (101.7kg)
CW: 14st 7.4lbs (92.3kg)
Mini goal: 14st 4 (90.7kg)
Bigger goal: 12st 4 (78kg)

20.6lbs down and feeling good! I have a pair of jeans I want to fit into mid-October and they're already looking better since I last tried them (early August) so I'm hopeful I'll get there. Classic clothes size though, they're a size 18! So now I have 2 pairs of jeans in size 18s which are too big, 1 size 18 that fits beautifully and 1 pair I'm trying to get down to! 🤷‍♀️

ChiaraMontague · 29/08/2025 10:07

7.5mg has been so strange, after 2 weeks of constantly feeling slightly nauseous and unable to eat properly I’m now at the beginning of week 4 and starting to feel hungry fairly often.

Losses have been more or less consistent though, I’ve lost 4.1kg in the last 4 weeks so I’m happy with that. I was 91.9kg today - edging closer to the 80s every time I weigh!

I’ve got a 10mg pen ready for next week but we’re heading down to Cornwall for the weekend with an 8 hour round trip so I think I will take 7.5mg from it on Friday in case of any side effects. I’m undecided about whether I’ll do a 2.5mg top up during the week but it’s a possibility

Quay · 29/08/2025 10:53

Wk11 day7

SW12st. 1lb
CW10st 7lbs

22lbs lost so far. Am so pleased. Have had a dental abscess, antibiotics and then tooth extracted on Wednesday so food has been limited. I wouldn’t be surprised if my weight goes up next week! However I’m wearing leggings and can actually see DEFINED knee caps!🤣 win win!

Have just started my 7.5mg pen.

Keep up the good work everyone - we’ve got this! x

finalpunt · 29/08/2025 11:21

I am such a numpty. Last pen did GD by forcing pen. It was stiff but easy enough to do using pliers.
Tried 5mg but SE were horrendous so switched to 3.75 by counting clicks and been much better. Today, wanted to do GD so thought I could do the same, force it past whilst counting clicks. Only there were no sodding clicks. Ended up turning to the 1 and just tried to stop just before it got to the 0.
Pretty sure I've had closer to 5 and am slightly panicking over the SE now.

I hope you are ok. This is similar to what I did, but it was cos I was drunk after the England match 😂

finalpunt · 29/08/2025 11:44

@FoxRedPuppy I wish I could blame the drink. Since MJ haven't been able to 😔
I've got Grandkids for sleep over tomorrow.
I am hoping that it won't be as severe because of the 3.75.
That will teach me to be tight.
Only few lbs to go to target now so hoping to use last pen to taper down

This still makes me laugh (as it’s the sort of thing I would do!!)
Just heading home from the airport after four days drinking some but not loads every night. Managed to maintain relatively good eating habits so we’ll see where my weigh in lands tomorrow morning. I am going to inject when I get home which will be 18 hours late but I haven’t felt much hungrier today which is good.

Has anyone injected after 6 days? Ideally I would go back next week to injecting on a Thursday rather than move my schedule to a Friday as I WFH on a Thursday but not Friday. Or maybe I just do 3.75mg next week from my 5mg pen to allow for the earlier day and then revert to 5mg after that. Might buy me an extra dose with the prices shooting up!!

Ive injected after 6 days to get me back to a Thursday. Didn't notice any difference at all.
Don't be despondent if you've put on a few pounds. I retain fluids something terrible after flying so had put on 6 pounds after a week away. It came off in the first week back so I think most was fluid retention.
Well done everyone on those NSVs!

Chellooo · 29/08/2025 13:39

Week 13 and officially 24.5lbs down, am delighted!

Have 2 doses left in my 5mg pen (3 if I do GD) and then I'm going to stop.
I want to lose about another 4lbs ish and I'll be happy.
At 5ft 7 that will bring me down into the 11 stone bracket - i know I could continue, and realistically according to bmi I should lose more but given all the uncertainty around the pens and pricing I'm ready to take that step and try and maintain myself, and weirdly kind of looking forward to it

SunandMoor · 29/08/2025 14:36

@Chellooo well done! Keep in touch so we know how you manage on the maintenance. I still have a bit to go yet but maintaining post MJ worries me!
