Yes horrid news for you, what a shock with both events. I echo PP, nourish and love yourself.

SomethingAboutYou · 26/08/2025 19:10

All the best for everything that's ahead of you @NeedyTiger that's quite a lot to deal with so well done on getting back on track 💪

HappyWineDay · 26/08/2025 12:20

Not quite. A full 5mg dose from a 5mg pen is 0.6ml.
3.75mg is exactly three quarters of a dose, so that's 0.45ml, or 45 on the syringe.

I did this! Well, a touch over, so probs around 0.5ml, which looked around about half of what I have left in the pen. Bit heart-burny today but all good. Thanks all.

Puffalicious · 26/08/2025 23:01

Thinking of you NeedyTiger. Unmumsnetty hugs.

RatherTardy · 27/08/2025 00:52

@NeedyTiger
so sorry this is happening to you.
echoing what others have said n sending hugs n love ❤️

Librariesrule · 27/08/2025 11:12

So did the 2nd jab of my 2nd 5mg pen yesterday. Today I have mega nausea and mild diarrhoea, had similar last week. I have 2 doses left of this pen but seriously thinking of refucing the dose to 2.5mg next week. Anybody else had this?

LadyClumber · 27/08/2025 11:38

@Librariesrule - I moved from 2.5mg to 3.75mg because I was wary of doubling the dose. I even found that too much and have been on 3.25 for the last 3 weeks. Weight loss is slowing and appetite suppression is waning so am going to try 3.5mg this week and see how it goes.

I did and then 3.75 for a couple of weeks. I'm now on my first week (since attempt number on) of actually doing 5mg and have had no side effects.

I’m sorry to hear that life has been tough @NeedyTiger. Good luck with what’s ahead. You sound very strong and determined but feel free to vent here if you need. Sending hugs.

@Librariesrule this is what I am afraid of - hence I have not moved up beyond 2.5mg and will only do so if weight loss stalls for more than two weeks.

Things have taken an unexpected turn here. AWOL period made me do a pregnancy test, which was positive (I’m 45 ffs, peri and I had massive issues ttc for years and this was a one off oops moment) but then 24 hours later it looks like I am having a miscarriage with lots of pain/bleeding. I’d be 5 weeks so super early. I only tracked so closely because I’m off to a festival and was hoping my period would be out of the way before I left. I’m not going to lie, I’m am mostly relieved that it’s not coming to anything and I don’t have to make a series of tough choices but it is all still a bit rubbish. It explains why I was an emotional wreck last week! Assumed it was all down to peri.

I snapped at DH this morning and he asked me what my problem was, like it was a normal day. Honestly I could kill him sometimes. He is a good guy but can just massively lack empathy.

@NeedyTiger what a time you’re having. I’m impressed with your ability to pick the weight loss back up again. That’s an absolutely huge NSV in itself.
Always here if you need to talk.

I hope you're ok. Even if it takes that tough choice away from you, which may still feel like a relief, it's still a loss and you're allowed to feel that. Men just don't get it!

Catladyof7 · 27/08/2025 16:49

Not updated my weight for a long while.
Started 22nd June first jab at 13 stone.

Today i am 11st 4 lbs
Slow and steady at 1-2lbs a week.
No side effects at all , had first week of 7.5mg Saturday .
Not a lot of suppression though .
Sticking to 1000-1100 calories a day
Goal weight is 9 stone to 9 and a half .

SunandMoor · 27/08/2025 17:00

@Focusispower that must have been a shock and quite emotional. Hope you are ok.

maddiemookins16mum · 27/08/2025 17:37

Update from me……I took my first 2.5 jab on 30th May - weighing in at 13 stone 12.

Just under 3 months later I now weigh 11 stone 11. I am delighted!!!

Gosh that’s been a rollercoaster week for you. You must be exhausted. Hope you can still enjoy the festival.

Sogfree · 28/08/2025 00:34

Oh my goodness @NeedyTiger It sounds like you're going through it. I hope there's a quick resolution for the mole. And are you looking for 'D' H to return? I imagine focusing on the weight loss is helping to keep your mind occupied in a good way with all that you've got going on. Sending you hugs.

And @Focusispower - I'm sorry you're going through this too. Not at all what you expected to have happened. Hugs coming your way too.

Tinybirdie · 28/08/2025 04:20

Sending love and strength to @NeedyTiger and @Focusispower

Elsiedarlingputthekettleon · 28/08/2025 07:39

Love and very best wishes to @Focusispower and @NeedyTiger 💐

FoxRedPuppy · 28/08/2025 07:56

@Focusispower what a difficult thing to get your head around. I completely get it as a 44 year old who’s assumes her baby days are long behind. Even though I know what decision is probably make if it happened to me, I would be really hard. Be kind to yourself, and give your DH a slap (metaphorical, but my peri rage is a bit high this week!)

Focusispower · 28/08/2025 12:50

Thanks folks, I appreciate the good thoughts. Not telling anyone in real life apart from DH so it is helpful to acknowledge it somewhere. I just worked as normal yesterday with ibuprofen, and today it seems to be better, just a lingering headache. I have had many miscarriages sadly but this time my family is complete so it’s not the trauma it has been in the past. I think the hormonal roller coaster of it has been the hardest bit. I am so ANGRY! Cycles are all over the place at the moment - I think I am firmly in the peri stage now.

So Juniper have finally issued their updates prices for Mounjaro. It has to be said I am mighty pissed off with Juniper. When the Mounjaro price hikes were first mooted, they issued a webinar saying that if you switched to Wegovy it would be cheaper and painless. Then there was a lot of guff about the general wonderfulness of Wegovy so I thought why on Earth did I ever get prescribed Mounjaro as Wegovy is so terrific? Then what really got my goat was when the webinar said that Wegovy would be better for anyone taking thyroxine. Well, I take thyroxine and have done for years. Again the question, why did they ever prescribe Mounjaro in the first place? I got in touch and asked. Response was a lot of back tracking and soothing then they said, actually, I need to have my thyroid levels checked more regularly if I’m on Mounjaro and I must tell my GP. This had never been mentioned before.
So I’m losing faith. I’ve never like the ‘health coaching’ which is some random woman telling me I’m doing a terrific job as if I was four years old. I can’t understand the relationship between the website and the app and keep being referred to things that don’t seem to exist like a fabled blog.
Sorry to rant but my lovely nature is being sorely tested.
I will switch to Wegovy, save the money and stick it until November when I should reach my target weight. Hopefully my new ways of eating will see me though when I titrate down later.
I’ve lost I stone 9 lbs since June and have felt much stronger, even at 71 and naturally idle.

On a separate note I love this groups honesty, support and humour. The Juniper community on Facebook feels suspiciously curated!

RatherTardy · 28/08/2025 13:29

@Focusispower sending love and a hug.
As someone else said, hope you can still enjoy the festival.

@Elsiedarlingputthekettleon the article you linked is behind a paywall. Would it be possible for you tell us what the article says? please

RatherTardy · 28/08/2025 13:30

@Maryb54 should you have a chat with your GP?

That's really interesting Mary. My friend is on Mounjaro and takes thyroxine. Thats never been raised as an issue for her either. I will flag it up to her as she may be better on Wegovy too?
