I completed couch to 5k today. After 9 weeks (actually a few more than that as I repeated a couple) I can now run for 30 minutes without stopping! Never in a million years thought I’d be capable of that!

Woo hoo! Well done @MummyInTheNecropolis

Sneaky mid week weigh in this morning (as the scales were lying out while cleaning bathroom lol), I’m down exactly 4st since starting 25 weeks ago! Just need to keep it off for ‘official’ weigh in on Saturday!

Massive well done!!

Love hearing about your losses and body changes. I'm aiming for about a size 14 I think, but I wont really know until Im there and I find a weight I can easily maintain.

@Pearlspearl I only had them for one day. I didnt get a chance to buy the pepto bismol, but I took a few rennies and then a nexium type tablet. They eased off then, not sure if that was coincidence or if the above helped!

I haven't felt hungry at all so far today. I just got a bit headachey and realised I hadn't even had breakfast, unusual for me.

Wow, well done!! I'm going to start doing Japanese walking, or a version of it, to my C25K app. I might do it properly then once I'm a bit further along

Janie934 · 19/08/2025 14:40

@pearlspearl Buscopan do some peppermint oil capsules that work well for sulphur burps.

WafflingDreamer · 19/08/2025 11:48

I've lost 6st 2lb and gone from a 22 to a 20 in bottoms, I'm comfortably in 18 tops. However I tend to wait until clothes are falling off and then buy more so with smaller sizes I might end up skipping sizes or only being in them a short while. I also wear a lot of dresses which don't tend to fall off just get a bit baggier.

I'm finding my dresses are getting longer - presumably because there's less tummy and bum to get in the way!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/08/2025 15:19

@PearlsPearl I take senna tablets for constipation.
I wouldn't wait five days. If I haven't had a poo by bedtime, I take 2 senna.

Doggymummar · 19/08/2025 16:23

PearlsPearl · 19/08/2025 12:36

@Doggymummar how long did they last for you?

Now thinking I should finally get a grip on this constipation as it can’t be helping. But the fibrogel made me heave, and I could barely swallow the Movicol. I have 3 prunes and 3 apricots a day, 2/3 coffees, fibre gummies.

Just the one day

Pears are also meant to be good to help you go!

PearlsPearl · 19/08/2025 18:13

Thanks everyone. They got so bad I had to leave work early at 230, couldn't stay in an office like that. And I won't be going back til they're gone.

I called the GP who gave me a prescription for Strigol? Like movicol according to the internet. I am going to start them tonight. She gave me a little telling off when I said I was going every 5-7 days and have since I started mj 13 weeks ago!

Miserable as sin. Hope they pass quickly as I NEVER call in sick to work.

PearlsPearl · 19/08/2025 18:14

Also gonna stop the coffee since it clearly doesn't help and switch to peppermint tea. Will just have 1 when I get up.

PearlsPearl · 19/08/2025 18:15

@MummyInTheNecropolis I am overjoyed for you, what an incredible achievement!! Well done you!!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 19/08/2025 18:17

I’m similar to you @PearlsPearl but have only had sulphur burps once, and no idea what caused it, Also being on long term antacids like omeprazole can make it worse, foods that are high in sulphur can as well. I know what you mean about Movicol, it is gross and I have to force myself to take it but don’t always remember. I try and avoid the likes of senna as I don’t want my bowel to rely on the bulk forming ones so try and stick to the osmotic laxatives that draw water into the bowel, you might prefer lactulose if none of the natural remedies work.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 19/08/2025 18:18

Wow @MummyInTheNecropolis I’m in awe! I still haven’t moved on from downloading the app months ago, even the app has given up reminding me to start it 😂

OvertiredandConfused · 19/08/2025 18:31

I'm a bit despondent as, despite being super good since my holiday (been home nearly three weeks). I've only lost 4lbs in the last four weeks, and most of that was while I was away so I can't even blame the holiday!

Given the concern about immediate supply due to the prizes increases that I'm trying to ignore for now, I've just been to see my prescribing doctor in a local, private, GP surgery.

The weight I am now is where I have historically plateaued, although I did eventually get past it. I'm 16st 13lbs and a tantalising 3lbs away from a 5st loss in total.

We discussed my goal. I would have to be exactly 12st to get into the top of the "healthy" BMI range. My currently plan is to get to around 13st and reassess. That's almost 4st to my goal and 5st to get 24.9 BMI. Meaning I'm about half way...

My current pen has three weeks left then I'm going up to 12.5mg. We spent quite a while debating the pros and cons, including whether to switch to 12.5mg before this pen is finished. It was a difficult call as my calorie and water intake is the same as it has been - with a slight adjustment down on calories as I've lost weight. Suppression is still fine on 10mg, just no loss. I don't want to regularly drop below 1200 - 1300 calories a day while I still have so much left to loose.

Gosh, that's a longer post than I intended, and slightly pointless probably. Would welcome suggestions or observations!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/08/2025 18:37

@OvertiredandConfused it sounds like you're losing 1lb a week, which is normal.

I started off by losing several lb. a week, but it then slowed down to 2lb a week, and now it's less than 1lb a week.

I lose 3lb a month now. It's very slow, but it's still going down.

With so much still to loose, it feels very, very slow. I'm not sure I could cope with, or justify, a loss at this rate and cost. I would like to get to just below 15st by Christmas - which should be doable. The final slog next year I expected to take MUCH longer! Obviously, I'll reassess if the rest of this month, and next on the new dose, are as slow.

TragicMuse · 19/08/2025 19:04

I tried to get some extra pens but Chemist4u aren’t offering bundles any more. Not sure how I‘m going to proceed tbh. I don’t think I can find masses extra from selling a few Vinted bits!

And I don’t know what dose to go for. I can really tell that suppression has worn off but my jab day is tomorrow - I’ve just had what seems like a huge pasta portion, even though I’m still under 1000 calories today! Maybe that’s normal? Having a couple of days of lower suppression at the end of the Jab period?

Aaargh! What to dooooooo?…

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/08/2025 19:10

@TragicMuse remind me what dose you're on now?

Have you tried OMAD?

Or even those Slimfast shakes for a week?

SilenceInside · 19/08/2025 19:14

@TragicMuse I definitely have a couple of days where the suppression is lower at the end of the week. I think it’s fairly common, and I try to account for it in terms of what I eat. So overall across the week it balances out.

@OvertiredandConfused what are you doing for exercise at the moment? That could be one avenue to explore, if that’s a possibility for you?

2 to three pound a month is my normal now. I lost the first 5 stone quickly and then settled at 1200 cals a day and 30 months later it's suddenly nearly done. Yes it's slow, but I know without it I would be going upp. I was always going to have to be a lifer.

I think…10 weeks?

I need to reduce carbs I think.
