Happy 1st birthday to us all - somewhere in this month we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

the amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+

in a year or for some 11-11.5mths - I was middle of August - we have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

some are at goal - and working out how to maintain

some nearing it

some still have weight they want to lose

Some have stopped for cost / various reasons and blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

but ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

maybe if brave - post your before and after pics to see how far we have come in a year

only 2 words to say 😂😂😂

@Azuresky68 🤣

I have to stay off the sugar, nit that I’ve had much of it at all over the last year. I’ve managed to reverse my pre-diabetes for the second time in my life and I know it’s absolutely true when my son in law says - if you have been pre-diabetic once, you will have to fight every day not to be pre-diabetic again. So I’ll fight. I have to.

And it’s the same with BP - I’m doing great off the medication but I’m now signed up for a course on meditation and breathing classes that I’ll do everyday for 20 mins as a matter of course. It was my surgeon who told me about them, he did it and had wanted me to do it for years but I wasn’t ready for it then.

it’s the same with cholesterol, it’s also going to be at the forefront of my mind every day for the rest of my live. Actually I was going to say every time I put something in my mouth but thought better of it 🤣

And wouldn’t it be funny if I knew your friend. It’s such a small place here that it takes the 6 degrees of deportation to a whole new level.

NippyNinjaCrab · 29/08/2025 14:22

@Weepixie meeee!!! Aw its magic isn't it! I read have tea and just chill 😎 xx

Weepixie · 29/08/2025 14:23

Honestly, if a higher power had said to me, I can make sure the children never have to come back here, that they can stay there with their mum and grandparents but you will pay the price of never seeing them again I’d have said ok. 🙈

just clarify - for their sake. Not mine. Absolutely not mine.

@NippyNinjaCrab I love it and I’m so glad I’m not on my own with it. In fact everyone should do it. It should even be free on the national health. A compulsory day in bed every six months 🤣

Slimhopes · 29/08/2025 15:12

Thanks everyone 😃 I’ll take the advice of increasing by 100 calories per week and hope for the best. I’ve got 3 more weeks on 15mg and then first of two 12.5 pens before going down the rest of the doses, one pen each dose after the 12.5s.
I've not been hugely high protein and not calculated it really, high protein yogurt every day but always a few bits of fruit which is high carb isn’t it. I will need to focus on protein though as MJ has helped with the hunger.
I remember your frustration with the size 16s too @Blondeshavemorefun and I was feeling bored and fed up ‘dieting’ at a similar time in Jan/feb and it felt never ending . Think it was a combination of winter and just being at a mid point of the journey which felt long then but now not so much. @Azuresky68 I think you said you didn’t want to lose more as your clothes would be a bit big - I’ve found similar just going from 81/2st to 8, some clothes look just a big too loose on me and everything is now a size 6 or 8. I still have a tummy and I think it’s about 29 inches which means I finally got under to the healthier measurement of waist height ratio but feel that still seems big for my height. But overall I’ll just have to live with that. I hope not to go over 8 1/2 stones during holidays etc.

FurForksSake · 29/08/2025 15:38

The waist to height ratio is interesting! I need to have a 30 inch waist maximum to be in the green. I’ll measure it tomorrow but think it’s above that and my bmi is around 22.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2025 15:55

@20bloodypounds yes smaller portions is the way to go and I do leave now if full up where before I would eat and prob stuff in a pudding

for example today went to tobys with dad to say thanks for having dd last night. He had a huge plate. Prob the size I would have done and eaten it and had pudding

today few slices of beef - 3 small pots - carrots cabbage small mac and cheese and gravy and a yorkie - ate most of it but left a little and no pudding

very true @owlyboo 💜

@Azuresky68 if I managed to not gain with nearly 2w in tenerife I’m sure you can do 5 days

don’t say that about libido if I won’t ever have sex again 🙀🙀🙀

@Blondeshavemorefun please could you tell me what temperature and time you cook an air fryer omelette for? What do you cook it in please? Thanks in advance x

Hello, sorry I missed this. I do around 12 to 15 minutes on about 160/170 that is for a three egg omelette.

I cook it in one of the silicone trays that I’ve got from Aldi for about £3

Makes a lovely fluffy one and never gets burned.

pixieit wasn’t till I started calorie counting that the weight actually started to come off

It is definitely the way to lose weight and means you can have a little bit of anything you like as long as in calories

PS @Blondeshavemorefun and everyone else who remember my angst about my fella.
After 5 years I have realised he is a 'doer' not a ' sweet nothings' type of guy. He thinks bunches of flowers are a waste of money but he's happy to treat me to lots of lovely holidays.
I often turn down his offer of financial support because it goes against the grain as I have been financially independent all of my life
I never have to walk on eggshells with him and he is never moody, depressed, angry or a drunk.
Most of all I was madly attracted to him when I met him and am head over heels in love with him despite never telling him in words!
Guess we both know deep down how we feel about eachother but refrain from saying it due to our past relationships..doing is better than saying in our case I have finally realised.
Don't get me wrong if he ended up professing his love for me I wouldn't complain 🤣🤣🤣

I love this @Azuresky68 😊

Motnight · 29/08/2025 16:42

@Blondeshavemorefun I remember your absolute frustration at going up doses, not feeling any hunger suppression and ploughing on through it. Now look! What dose are you on now?

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2025 17:16

Motnight · 29/08/2025 16:42

@Blondeshavemorefun I remember your absolute frustration at going up doses, not feeling any hunger suppression and ploughing on through it. Now look! What dose are you on now?

On 10 at the moment

do you remember 10 with my magic dose? Wasn’t it? I finally felt sepression.

I ended up having 2 x 10s but towards the end of pen number two of 10 I struggled with supression again.

I’ve ended 3×15 and missed 12.5 out and went to 10

I’m still losing weight even though I don’t really want to so I do need a 7.5

my 10 that arrive from IQ I may double dose - shock horror 🙀🙀and do as a 5 so be 10w as five as I’ve got a 7.5 coming from Juniper.

It would be lovely to stay on 2.5 or 5 to manage the hungeras I think I will struggle not having any but then reading the board some managed to cover their hunger

A day in bed sounds fab

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 29/08/2025 17:52

I wish I’d stayed on 2.5 for as long as possible, I think if I’d found this board in my early days I might have done. Voy rushed me up through the doses and I’d have felt better titrating down if I’d gone up slower. I’d love to go back down and maintain on 2.5mg taken every 8 days.

this week I’ve had super high suppression from my golden dose, it was probably 14mg and I’ve been on 12.5 for months and months.

I’ve got three pens of 12.5 in the fridge and two coming in October. I’m going to continue with 8 days between injections and then the next pen I’m going to count clicks and do 10mg at 8 days and then 7.5 with a view to buying a 7.5 pen in November and down from there. Ideally I can get down to 2.5 and maintain.

first I’ve got to get my last few pounds off! My period has come 4 days early for some reason so I won’t see any weight loss this week probably.

I’ve also restarted my lactulose, I’ve realised I need to take it twice a day every day for as long as I’m on iron tablets and opioids. I was using it until it worked and then stopping again and it’s just not how it’s supposed to work. In take 15ml or 20ml twice a day.

l-tyrosine has definitely improved my mood, for the most part. Still feeling down and frustrated and avoiding people, but better than I have been.

MabelSpan · 29/08/2025 18:07

A random post, but a while back we were discussing our aches, pains and the meds we take and somebody, possibly @NippyNinjaCrab ? Mentioned that tramadol can actually make some pains worse. Well, I have always reacted weirdly to drugs so I decided to stop taking the tramadol and try to manage with just amitriptyline, paracetamol and ibuprofen.
I am feeling so much better!
I still have to odd bad day, but I havent taken any tramadol since 21st Aug.
So a big thank you to you for mentioning this 😊

1clavdivs · 29/08/2025 18:46

I was just thinking how incredible it is the changes we've all made in just a year. I've gone from a size 18 to being able to get into a size 8 (trying on jeans yesterday in Next!) and it seems amazing how different things are after so many damned failed attempts to lose weight before. I know we're all feeling it, but it still hits me out of nowhere sometimes.

lookathatbookcase · 29/08/2025 19:16

@Azuresky68 love this for you!

NippyNinjaCrab · 29/08/2025 19:17

@MabelSpan yes it was moi ❤️ how did you find coming off the Tramadol? I'm now down to 2 cocodamol and day with paracetamol. Once I'm off them I've to get put onto Nefopam for the pain. I am so happy you feel great! I've linked a wee read about the effects of opioid use long term xx

Hello everyone, congratulations all on your amazing losses, you've been so inspiring. I'm a lurker more than a poster but I know you'll all understand how delighted I am to announce that today I earned my elephant penis badge 😂.
So now onto the next stage, hastened by the price increases. I'd like to lose more but being older and short it's slow progress. I have 4 pens stashed but my son started 3 months ago and has more left to lose than me so my plan is to start titrating down and let him use the same pens, and hope I can control my hunger on 1000 calories until I've shifted the last 4lb. I've signed up to Oushk taper plan for now with the intention of moving to flexi as a safety net.
I think lots of us will be in the same situation.

FurForksSake · 29/08/2025 19:20

@doingitthistimewave that penis around your head with pride!! Well done.

Weepixie · 29/08/2025 19:21

@doingitthistime all the very best to you on the rest of your journey. You sound like a lovely mum and whereas I’d never have given any of my kids my last Rollo they’d all be welcome to any Mounjaro I had in the fridge. ❤️

doingitthistime · 29/08/2025 19:33

@Weepixie

Thank you. I'd fight for the Rolo as well though😆

PoemsForTea · 29/08/2025 19:56

I was fine stopping, I only ever took 2, 2-3 times a day if needed and more recently 1-2 times, thankfully I had no side effects stopping whatsoever.
I havent heard of nefopam but I really, really hope it works for you😊
