Happy 1st birthday to us all - somewhere in this month we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

the amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+

in a year or for some 11-11.5mths - I was middle of August - we have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

some are at goal - and working out how to maintain

some nearing it

some still have weight they want to lose

Some have stopped for cost / various reasons and blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

but ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

maybe if brave - post your before and after pics to see how far we have come in a year

@Weepixie I’m sure they find it hard as he’s their dad. I would be the same if my dad. It’s a different love isn’t it dad v dh

but they both love dd and I am so lucky they are on my side

I try and not use my dad as childcare as I don’t think gp should - plus only him as my mum died 11yrs ago and no other gp about so I don’t like to overload him.

i know he would always help if I need it but I try and do it with friends or dd big sister has had her a lot while I work nights - luckily mini blondes has always liked her sleep

@Weepixie counting calories is the only way I believe. And you do need to count and weight measure as we all over estimate

thanks @Motnight

WWJ and lost 2lbs and not even trying to lose. I’m maintaining and eating 500c more a day yet lost again.

my goal was 11 and when I stopped being so good and added the extra c. That was June I think

and since then lost another 9lbs

so I guess juniper are right in I need to lower a dose to maintain if still losing weight

good luck all weighers today

NippyNinjaCrab · 29/08/2025 09:02

Morning, weighed in at 10st 12lbs again so still maintaining. I feel hungrier though so I know that the MJ is completely out my system. I am going to have to be super strict with eating and portions going forward as my physical exercise is so much lower the last few months. I have no idea what will happen with my Oushk order. Blondes knows this part but in a panic I ordered the only dose that was available in stock, a 12.5mg lol, on the 22nd August. I sent a message asking for their opinion on it being prescribed and they did say it would be unlikely and that i could cancel for a £10 fee or wait and see if the prescriber will allocate me the highest dose pen I have had which is a 5mg. I wish I hadn't ordered at all. If they prescribe the 5mg in place of the 12.5mg it will be at the new prices. I just need to wait until the decision is made, it is frustrating because basically they have the money and i suspect it will take until next week now until the order is looked at. I just didn't think when ordering, hey ho. The higher dose pen would have allowed micro dosing. I am so so glad I started when I did and we have all met and have such a lovely close group. I know I am not posting at all at the moment but I am managing to keep up with all your updates and amazing pics and results. Xxx

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 09:56

@Blondeshavemorefun well
done. I am guessing you are happy about the loss?

So 2 weeks on 15 mg and I am 8 stone 5.5!! Time to maintain. My original goal was 9 stone.
23.7 BMI. I dont want to lose anymore as my size 8/10 will be too big. Sizes go down quickly when you are a short arse.

@Blondeshavemorefun I will never forget your struggle with those size 16 jeans...you must be overjoyed now 💐💐💐💐

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 10:03

@Weepixie Great news on your loss.
I agree with Blondes ..calorie counting is the only way when you have maybe just a stone or less to lose. It's amazing how easy it is to kid yourself that you are eating 'healthy' if you don't count calories and analyse macros. MFP is my friend. Are you going to keep on with calorie counting?
Good luck

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 10:19

Oh my goodness @Blondeshavemorefun and @owlyboo I completely get it!!
19 years since I got rid of my ex H ....times were very tough financially and was a single parent for a very long time as I wanted to focus on my children.
Being single and hard up was so much better than walking on eggshells.
I wanted to leave him well before that but was too scared. I was fat and had massive low self esteem for ages.

Wishing you two gorgeous ladies all the very best.
You are both stunning and will have your pick of the bunch 💐
As you know it took me a long time to find my Mr Right (15 years) but I did shop around when I felt ready.
I didn't rush into anything after all the hurt for me and my children.
Not saying everyone is the same by the way..that was my circumstances and everyone is different.
We are all doing amazingly well in our own unique circumstances 👏 ❤️ 👏❤️

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 10:40

PS @Blondeshavemorefun and everyone else who remember my angst about my fella.
After 5 years I have realised he is a 'doer' not a ' sweet nothings' type of guy. He thinks bunches of flowers are a waste of money but he's happy to treat me to lots of lovely holidays.
I often turn down his offer of financial support because it goes against the grain as I have been financially independent all of my life
I never have to walk on eggshells with him and he is never moody, depressed, angry or a drunk.
Most of all I was madly attracted to him when I met him and am head over heels in love with him despite never telling him in words!
Guess we both know deep down how we feel about eachother but refrain from saying it due to our past relationships..doing is better than saying in our case I have finally realised.
Don't get me wrong if he ended up professing his love for me I wouldn't complain 🤣🤣🤣

Slimhopes · 29/08/2025 10:44

Morning everyone and well done for all the losses and perseverances on the journey and with all the MJ challenges just now 🥳 gorgeous photos @owlyboo and sounds like a peaceful holiday 😊
brilliant @Azuresky68 , that’s great news on goal. I reached goal of 8 stones today and bmi 21.9 (I’m just about hitting 5 foot) so pleased about that and I will start maintenance now. Are we supposed to just increase by 100 calories per week?? You can see I’ve never managed maintenance - I’ve generally lost loads , celebrated and piled it straight back on again 😭 I think my maintenance calories are only 1230 so not much to go up by but it’ll feel luxurious after such a long stint on 830. I can’t imagine that I’ll continue to lose anything on maintenance unlike you @Blondeshavemorefun as anytime I’ve had increased calories, I’m up a pound . So a bit nervous about releasing my grip on the calories , I’ll maybe have 900 today and see how it goes.(my inner voice says I’ll be 12 stones by Christmas 😜)

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2025 11:02

@NippyNinjaCrab they charge if you cancel ? Wow but ell done for doing it alone

@Azuresky68 yes and no. I don’t really want to be any slimmer. I don’t look gaunt but did years ago at 10.10 and now I’m 10.5

a lb off 7s loss

but I know I won’t be able to maintain it if I come off mj which I prob will have to eventually or least be on 2.5-5 due to costs

I struggle to eat the 1800c a day unless I add in a huge chunk of chocolate so maybe I need a lower dose to be more hungry ?

well done @Azuresky68 for getting to your personal goal

still will say told you so 😛😛😛 about 15 😘😘😘

yes feb 14th and the 16 Jean saga - it’s so Weird how losing a stone made a diff in clothes 16 to a 12

I want to dip my toe into dating but equally I don’t and not ready

dh behaviour has /had a huge impact on me

flowers die. I prefer sunshine and holidays

I’m glad you found your forever love @Azuresky68ans actions do speak more than words

his actions make you know you’ve found the one

dh actions make me know I’ve done the right thing

yah. Well done @Slimhopes- I always did my tdee and it will tell you how many extra. Mine was 600 more but I’m 5/7

may be less for 5f

how the hell you and other short arses 😘 manage on 800c. That can’t be healthy

you may be shocked and surprised @Slimhopes

think how weeks I sts when trying to lose weight on less c at 1200 yet when allowed more I seem to be losing - doesn’t make sense at all

im sure I will gain back to 10/10 or even 11 over time

OP posts:
Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 11:40

@Slimhopes congratulations on reaching your goal!! My maintenance calories are 1350 😱

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 11:46

@Slimhopes I would probably go up 100 cals at a time? Also if you start increasing carbs if like me you have been on high protein low carbs you will probably shoot up a few pounds.

@Blondeshavemorefun If I had a few 800 cal days I would increase calories for 2 days to average 1000. Your body gets used to existing on less solid need to trick it. But in your case this doesn't apply as you are still losing. I would decrease your dose.

Yes you were right about 15!!

20bloodypounds · 29/08/2025 11:59

@owlyboo sounds like such a great holiday, and even better you have all those wonderful photos to remind you - photos that you'll be happy to look at, rather than hiding away because you're ashamed of your body. You look great, full of confidence too.

@Blondeshavemorefun I'm short and over the last years I've learned to have a good variety of food, but just really small portions. I sometimes make a cheese and veg frittata with 4 eaggs. Previously I would have eaten my half. Now I only eat one quarter and save the other portion for the next day. Or if we have curry, dh has rice and naan and I have a small bit of naan and some veg. I use a much smaller plate. dh has got used to my small portions but at first he kept commenting that I wasn't eating much. Eating out is harder, but I've accepted that I have to leave stuff. Earlier this week dh and I were out for lunch. I really wanted the fish and chips, but it was huge and I left more than half of it. I told the server it was lovely (it was) but that they should offer children's portions to short people! We also had brunch out another day - my smoked salmon on rye bread with cream cheese and pickles came on two slices of bread. I ate one and took the other one home in a box. Yesterdy we were out for coffee and the pineapple and coconut cake looked delicious. It was lovely but very sweet, and I'd had enough after half. dh managed to finish it off!

I realise that's a lot of eating out this week (it's not usually like that) but by eating smaller amounts I can still indulge myself. I don't have to sit miserably pushing a bit of salad around my plate, but nor do I have to gobble everything down and pile on the weight.

I have to be deliberate about it, and that is a good habit I have managed to learn, thank to the help of MJ. I was on a 3 hour car journey recently and I was lured by the sign of the Golden Arches... Rather than Big Mac Meal with coke (OK go on then, make it large!) I decided before hand that I'd have a regular big mac, with fries, and that I would only eat half of it - no need for a drink as I had water with me. I maybe had one bite more than half, but having made my mind up, it was surprisingly OK.

I also use intermittent fasting a couple of days a week. So nothing till lunchtime, then 2 slightly larger meals.

20bloodypounds · 29/08/2025 12:07

Sorry to hear of everyone's troubles with ordering pens. Luckily I'm on a low dose so managed to get an early order in for 2 x 2.5mg pens from Oushk. Added to my current pens, that should see me through to 3rd January - or longer if I spread the doses out. Sometime in the autumn I'll schedule another maintenance call with Oushk, with the intention of doing one month on / one month off in the new year, but I'll order another 2.5mg pen in the autumn, to keep me on their prescribing list.

I always planned to come off totally at some point, but it feels a bit panicky when the prices rises are forcing us towards it, rather than it being entirely our choice.

I'm sure with the continued support and encouragement on here, we will be OK.

owlyboo · 29/08/2025 12:11

@Blondeshavemorefun all sounds very similar. It’s sad but much better to be out of it and happy. Especially for mini blonde/my kids. A happy single home is much better than an unhappy one with two parents.

well done on your loss @Weepixie@Azuresky68

thanks @Azuresky68been single for 2 and a half years now and haven’t felt compelled to look for someone yet. Like you say happy just concentrating on the kids. Hopefully someone will turn up when the time is right. How did you meet your partner? I’m so glad he makes you happy.

thanks @Slimhopeswell done on reaching target!

thanks @20bloodypoundsit’s really nice to have the photos as memories!

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 13:21

@20bloodypounds all good advice! I am now happy with my weight. We are away for 5 days on Monday to the Yorkshire Wolds and the seaside. My goal is to do what you did and hopefully stay the same weight. That would be a first!! I will plan healthy meals for us both as my OH had a shock re borderline diabetes so he is focused on that. He is pretty goal driven and has cut out bread. He cut out sugar a couple of years ago. I wanted him to lose at least half a stone previously and change his diet but I felt it wasnt fair of me to comment as it's easy for me being on MJ. He has never once mentioned my weight when I went up to 11 stone. Anyway it's easier now to focus on the health goals. Thank goodness he's not too overweight..not in bad shape for 70!

@owlyboo Agree with this. My adult dd, who is a single parent, says she is glad that her dad and I split up (she was 6) because it showed her all the positives that there could be, and it gave her the confidence to leave a difficult relationship.

20bloodypounds · 29/08/2025 13:25

@Azuresky68 There is a strong correlation between diabetes and erectile disfunction. Keep him healthy!

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 13:26

I emailed Juniper...

Many thanks for your email.

I understand yours is a subscription service.

Please can you explain terms and conditions particularly regarding cancellation if I transfer to you?

I am considering transferring as I am at maintenance - 23.8 BMI.

Due to the huge increase in MJ prices I might have to reduce down and eventually come off MJ.

Please can you confirm what the price of a 10 pen is with the first time buyer discount?

Can you confirm when you are increasing prices please.

If I subscribe before the end of Augist will my pen be at the current rate?

Many thanks

Waiting for a reply and will decide what to do.
I have pens that will last until end of December but I will make them stretch further now I am at target.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Well my libido hasn't diminished that's for sure ..but libido is like a car..you need to keep it running, well maintained and get a regular service but when you park it up for ages you get used to not driving it...the oldies aren't all past it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Weepixie · 29/08/2025 13:42

@Azuresky68 hi there, how are you? I’m so pleased you’re at target. Well done! ❤️

regarding calorie counting - I’ve calorie counted from the beginning. In fact there were times here when I thought you’d all think I was bonkers sticking to it like glue. I felt like the lone ranger at times. 🤣

I’d adjust my calories as I went along and it was only when my son in law said to me, ‘there’s no such thing as a stall and if there were people would never starve to death’, that we decided I’d change the way I was counting and logging my calories. I knew I was getting sound advice from him so I was happy to go along with it, but a big part of it was also curiosity. I’m so glad I did as It’s also great to have another trick up my sleeve going forward. I’ll be like Mary Poppins with my big bag of strategies for keeping the weight off. 🤣

Weepixie · 29/08/2025 13:54

@Slimhopes well done!❤️

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 13:56

@Weepixie thats great! It's OK to be Mary Poppins as long as you dont take her advice about 'a spoonful of sugar' 🤣

My friend from Oman has been in the UK over the summer although we haven't had a chance to catch up this time. Keep wondering if you two know eachother! She is one of my best friends from school days. They lived in Oman years ago and then went back a few years ago.

Azuresky68 · 29/08/2025 13:57

@Blondeshavemorefun please could you tell me what temperature and time you cook an air fryer omelette for? What do you cook it in please? Thanks in advance x

Weepixie · 29/08/2025 14:09

I’m sitting here in bed like the Queen. Ive been in it all day apart from 2 hours on my bedroom couch doing the monthly house admin and paying salaries etc. I’m on a new version of a tablet I take for my bladder issue and you have to really fine tune the time of day you take it so it stops you being up half a dozen times a night for what’s basically just a dribble of a wee. Anyway I’ve not manage to fine tune it yet and I’ve been up at 2am every day, for the day, for a week. Schools are also back here and I’ve been out the door at 6.20 everyday for the school runs I do, I love doing it and it’s no hardship. Then there’s also been the re-start of the firefighting that needs to be done in the life of two of my grandchildren now they’re back from 2 months away in Europe with mum and their family there. Honestly, if a higher power had said to me, I can make sure the children never have to come back here, that they can stay there with their mum and grandparents but you will pay the price of never seeing them again I’d have said ok. 🙈

Anyway, I’ve been in bed all day just like the Queen of Sheba- she lived in the south of where I am and I’m not moving till tomorrow!

Does anyone else, if circumstances allow, take to their bed for a day sometimes? I’m not joking, it’s bloody great.
