Happy 1st birthday to us all - somewhere in this month we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

the amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+

in a year or for some 11-11.5mths - I was middle of August - we have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

some are at goal - and working out how to maintain

some nearing it

some still have weight they want to lose

Some have stopped for cost / various reasons and blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

but ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

maybe if brave - post your before and after pics to see how far we have come in a year

Marking my place while I go back and read all the posts.

I'm an imposter, having not started my MJ journey till September, but this has been most fantastic and wonderful community, so I've sneaked in as a preemie! (born in August before my time)

Edited to add: my username was from lockdown when I'd gained 20 pounds. Then I gained another 20. then another 15.. So 55 bloody pounds. Today I'm 7.5 pounds from my pre-lockdown weight.

Thank you @Blondeshavemorefun.

One year on - 87 lbs down for me. Doesn't seem quite real.

We must have lost 1000s of lbs between us 😯

Our combined impact on the weight of the world must be significant!

And sadly (unless I go seriously lower than feels healthy) I will never reach the elephant's penis weight loss medal

20bloodypounds · 01/08/2025 22:29

Really positive programme 👍 😊

Happy birthday everyone! 1 year ago today I weighed 72lbs more than I do today... and life is so much better without it. As a community this August group has kept me going when its been hard, confusing and just a bit lonely so thanks. Im on 5mg still and hoping to go down next pen and then off. Like some of you all though, if I need to stay on it to help with the hip pain and less food noise, then I will. This weekend I will celebrate with a crazy gym class ( Bungee superfly) which I'd never have done when I was bigger.
Hope everyone's weekend is fabulous and lighter than last year 😘

Slimhopes · 02/08/2025 07:44

Happy birthday everyone🥳 what an amazing journey the last year has been for all of, navigating our way through mounjaro and all the changes we’ve experienced.
my first injection was a year ago today, I’ve kept a weekly weight list which is helpful to look back on. A year ago I was 14st 10lbs, BMI 40. Today I’m 8st 4lbs and BMI 22.7 (5ft tall). That’s 90lbs or a new born calf!! And a lot of new clothes!!
Still on 15mg for the last few pounds, still get hungry too. On less than 900;calories ,most days which is helping me still lose a pound or close to it each week. Will taper down when I’ve finished the two 15mg pens I have.
congratulations on getting through the year and hope we stay on the thread through the next year too 😀

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/08/2025 08:18

@Ithinkimrincewind do you find 5 is enough for hip /ankle pain ? If feeling pain on 7.5 so went back to 10 for holiday - I’m worried 5 will do nothing

@Slimhopes I also have a list - I’m guessing you are a short arse 😛😘 as higher bmi then me (38) but I’m 2.5s heavier then you were at the start

oh you said 5f 😂 - I’m 5/7

I was replying as reading.

anyone brave enough before /after pics. Or just me - bottom lip wobbles

Happy birthday everyone 🎉

what a difference a year makes?!

Thank you to everyone and well done everybody. I can’t believe the change and didn’t really believe I’d be where I am today!
Started on 4 or 5 August weighing 14st 4 and today I weigh 8st 12! BMI 32.2 (or more) and now 20.8!

What a wonderful bunch of ladies to have been on this journey with; thank you for the support. If only miles didn’t separate us, it would be so lovely to have a proper get together!

Love the tat @owlyboo

@Blondeshavemorefun have a wonderful holiday and allow yourself some treats. Don’t worry about putting on the lbs whilst away, once back home they should soon come off!

I’ve been quiet recently, was away most of July in SE Asia. Felt like I’d put on all that I’d lost and weighed as soon as I got home just to get the number it started with! Was expecting a 10 and was pleased at 9st5! I’d said I wouldn’t mind if I got to 9st4 whilst away as that was the weight I’d dreamed of getting back to and never actually believed I could.
Once back in routine and recovered from the flight and travel, I was back to 9stone! Although a horrid cold laid me low for a few days which probably helped and has kept me from updating here.
I didn’t go crazy whilst away but ate what I wanted, mango sticky rice, coconut ice cream, kunafa frappes, lots of iced coffees.

Now I need to tone up. I remember someone saying their PT had said about toning arms rather than surgery?? Arms, legs and stomach are very melted candle and I want to work on these. Any top tips anyone? I was so tempted by the cheap Asian surgery as a quick fix!

I’m sorry I’m rubbish at remembering and quoting everyone but love where we all are and our successes! So proud!

Oh I’d love a bit of height😅 frustrating being a short arse and getting clothes😂 a whole lot easier since losing weight though. Not brave enough for photos I’m afraid and feel guilty as I love seeing everyone else’s changes 😭 my BMI was more usually at 42😳 as I was 15:8 for years before links to, I did ozempic and wegovy the year before mounjaro. Got down to @ 13st but went up to 14.10. So did out it back on after injections so I’m aware of my dangers when I come off mounjaro. Hopefully😬😬

Azuresky68 · 02/08/2025 09:31

@Blondeshavemorefun definitely going to post a side by side comparison when I get my friend to take a pic next week...but as you know I have been very brave...bikini pic at 69 years old is brave or 'who gives a shit anyway at my age' madness 😅😅😅

Motnight · 02/08/2025 09:36

@owlyboo your tattoo is genuinely beautiful!

Motnight · 02/08/2025 09:37

@Blondeshavemorefun enjoy your holiday

Motnight · 02/08/2025 09:38

@Azuresky68 your bikini photos are gorgeous!

Azuresky68 · 02/08/2025 09:42

@Slimhopes your post really helped me as I can identify so much...for my last half stone I really wish I had gone up to 12.5 and even maybe 15...I really struggle to stick with 1000 on 10 mg and have stayed pretty much the same weight since February. I stayed on 10 mg because I thought I could do it then titrate down and didn't want to pay more...feeling stupid now because if I had gone up I would have probably got to my target sooner. Still not sure whether to go up for next couple of pens. Honestly good to hear you are having to be on 900 to lose...a lot of people dont understand why I can only lose on a 1009. It's day 5 and woke up feeling hungry. Yes pretty mad with myself right now!!

@Azuresky68 your bikini photos are gorgeous!

Thanks... it was originally an expensive (£85) Bravissimo tankini bought when 11 stone last year, then I lost 11 inches off my waist so it was too baggy on my tummy...now I am 8 st 12 pounds. I altered it into a bikini!
