Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

I know a HCP who reached target and is now on 1.25mg every 10 days (or similar) @usedtobeaylis - it works for her. I can’t remember how near target you are? And obvs the is anecdotal and in no way scientific! She’s a trusted source for me though as she’s 6 months ahead of us.

I do agree that it’s a right pisser. Fuck Trump for this and all his crimes!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 14/08/2025 19:58

So many people are stocking up with Oushk they are running out of stock and the website payment system has been crashing because it can't process so many payments at once. Just crazy.

It's true prices should be different and lower than the list prices but all will depend on how much Eli Lily discount.

Has been handled so badly.

MynameisJune · 14/08/2025 20:19

My husband has just mentioned the price rises, I never planned to get to 15mg as I’m quite near to target but what a kick to people who are struggling to afford this as it is.

Surely the aim should have been to reduce the cost for Americans citizens not raise the price for the Uk. It just screams bullshit greed or influenced by food companies to make it less available for people.

usedtobeaylis · 14/08/2025 20:20

Well I panicked a bit seeing the prices rise on monj.co.uk and have ordered my next pen with a different supplier, partly because it's still cheap enough to do so. Can I still continue with my other, current, preferred provider if I can afford to in a couple of weeks or will they know I've ordered from both somehow?

Apart from that, I had to take the obligatory photo and Jesus my top half looks about half the size it did in Feb. I have shoulders! Unfortunately my hips suddenly stick out like a shelf and I look like I've got a cardboard box in my waistband. Positively rectangular.

@SpiralSister that's what my plan was - but in 3 stone time, not just now 😫

MynameisJune · 14/08/2025 20:21

i know it’s a little while away but I imagine that once Retatrutide is released next year the cost of MJ will come down again like wegovy did when MJ was released.

MynameisJune · 14/08/2025 20:23

I can’t even get on Monj it’s that busy it’s giving an error code. Price rises now will solely be down to demand increases as people panic buy.

SpiralSister · 14/08/2025 20:25

@usedtobeaylis oh fuckadoodledoo!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 14/08/2025 20:45

@usedtobeaylis There's no restriction on how many Mounjaro you can buy in a month. Some people on reddit are claiming to have bought 12 (a years supply). I can actually believe some would do that. Hope their fridges don't break down!

MynameisJune · 14/08/2025 20:54

I’ve ordered another pen, have one in the fridge new so will have 10 weeks worth including GD. Then will see where prices are and if I’m going to have to stop cold turkey 🥴

sweetpickle2 · 14/08/2025 21:11

I can’t afford to bulk buy so I’ll order my next pen as usual and then I’ll just have to take my chances with the higher prices after that.

Zibb · 14/08/2025 21:20

I should be able to order 1 last pen on the 30th but then I'll be done. Scary to think about. I thought I'd be on it for at least another 4 months until goal weight and then wanted to do at least 6 months maintenance.

That’s almost exactly where I am Zibb.
I’m only just into the healthy weight bracket but wanted to lose a little more weight before tapering down over 6months.
I have 2 pens in the fridge and have just ordered a 15mg from Pharmulous but I don’t know whether they now have the stock left to fulfil the order. 😫

MynameisJune · 14/08/2025 21:28

There are a few lone voices on the price increase thread who seem to know what they’re on about and suggest the price increases won’t necessarily be as severe as we expect. So i’m going to hope for the best for now until September 1st when we should know new prices.

SkintSingleMumm · 14/08/2025 23:49

For christ sake, it’s unaffordable to me at those prices unfortunately 😩

Zibb · 14/08/2025 23:57

Maybe it won't be as bad as we're expecting? Eesh.

If I do manage to get 1 last pen do I stretch it out or do I take it as intended and just stop cold turkey?

I've got 2 doses left of my current one. I wonder what stock levels will be like in 2 weeks?

I don't expect Eli Lilly to adjust their pricing. Weren't they the ones who hiked up the prices of insulin and people died because of it? I know it's the orange duckwits demands driving this price increase but it will mean more profits for the company.

Zibb · 14/08/2025 23:59

I tried reading the MN thread about the price increase but it just seems to be a massive bun fight about god knows what.

Hopefully there will be more helpful information tomorrow.

Also, unrelated, but where did @sansaclegane go?

CoolLimeSheep · 15/08/2025 05:30

I had this off med express so I think we will all just have wait see and till the update im ordering my pen today then go from there but do think I will be coming off it myself

sc0ttishlass · 15/08/2025 05:47

Morning all. Really sad to hear about the price hike. My last pen was 10mg on med express and was £190 which was already a bit out of my price range. :( im almost at the top of my healthy bmi..wondered if anyone can advise any other places to try that may be cheaper for that pen (eli lily news aside)? I felt like around 100 or 150 was acceptable but nearly 200 is a bit much sadly.

On the plus side I started 10 on wed after having felt like 7.5 was almost non existent and almost instantly noticed a much better suppression. Its so interesting how it all works. Im trying so hard on the water intake too as rally notice such a difference with that.

Also a funny nsv. I was thinking I can't remember the last time I 'passed wind'! It has definitely fixed my toilet habits into something much more regular and 'normal'!!

Hope the day brings better news on the pricing

FunnyCrabDance · 15/08/2025 06:30

This pricing thing has thrown me too, i dont know what I'll do now as was stretching to afford it anyway.

Its been a hell of week here, my mum died on Wednesday after a long illness, so the weight has kind of been dropping off me anyway. But i also dont want to go back to eating my emotions in the coming weeks either. Tough times

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 15/08/2025 06:40

@FunnyCrabDance Sorry to hear about your mum. Sounds like it's been a really tough time. Hope she's at peace now.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 15/08/2025 06:42

@sc0ttishlass Yes I was quite the same except when I needed to go.. I returned to more farty ways once Mounjaro was out of my system but things seem to have quietened down now. Mounjaro definitely slowed all parts of my digestion down.

Zibb · 15/08/2025 06:49

@FunnyCrabDance I'm so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself.

sc0ttishlass · 15/08/2025 07:10

@FunnyCrabDance so sorry for your loss..sending love.

@Nomoretopswithblacktrousers hope i don't return to more farty ways soon ;)

Im thinking ive been overpaying on med express as news keep saying top dose is 130 wheras ive been paying 190 for 10mg!! Wrong time to try and look around for cheaper i guess but will try.

Ps I may be repeating myself but im obsessed with water melon. Didn't really like it before but coukd eat bowl loads. I put a Mexican spice on it i got when over in USA from costco and its delicious! There are worse things to be obsessed with. Any other healthy snack recommendations? X

CoolLimeSheep · 15/08/2025 07:19

@FunnyCrabDance so sorry for your loss. Sending virtual hugs
