Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

@CoolLimeSheeplow folate sometimes is common with low B12. And causes hair loss. Worth checking those levels and making sure they are optimal, not “just” normal.

best of luck!

Thank you my b12s due 8th and im so bloody tired have been for 3 weeks now so will be interesting to find that out if folate is low apparently before mj my b12 has been declining for years so I cant really blame mj for my b12.

SpiralSister · 02/10/2025 06:03

Ooh, thanks @WoolerOwl!

Sounds debilitating!

How's your diet? Do you think you are eating enough food and carbs?

😁

I can get on my soap box about this but carbs are an energy source for fuel. Fats can also help longer term energy storage. You can't drive a car without fuel, your body doesn't like it much either x

Ill try up my carbs intake and start adding some potatoes in my diet see if it improves how im feeling. Thank you 😊

SpiralSister · 02/10/2025 14:55

@CoolLimeSheep do you eat any whole grains? More nutritious than spuds and more fibre too. Carby but good! I eat a lot of spelt but that can be a bit of a pain in the bum to find, barley or brown rice would work. Good hot or cold the next day with veggies and a protein. Lots of B vits!

I always find the weight comes off in a chunk a few days after being back from a holiday, when the water retention from travelling settles down. Sounds like you’ve done amazingly well, @PurpleCoo . So fit!

Just catching up with this to say that on day one of my hols, after a marathon journey and not enough water by a long shot or food for that matter, I was massively bloated! All back to normal now.

I’ve spent most of my time so far in very few clothes, in bright sunlight 😂 I have come to the conclusion that I look ‘right’ weight wise in clothes, still half a stone too heavy unclothed. Hurrumph!

I do in my protien meals I normally have gym kitchen ready meals with brown rice and stuff, spinach sometimes have gluten free pasta but I will try add some more in thanks everyone for the tips 😊

Oh, me too. I look massively different even with a pair of control pants and a decent bra on from how I look naked! My stomach is just a mess of stretch marks and scars and all-round blubberiness. I think I need to lose about another half stone too, but I wonder even then if my stomach will look much better. Maybe I just have to accept it won't, and that some of the story of my life is written on it.

SpiralSister · 02/10/2025 18:01

Amen to that, @WoolerOwl! I’ve never minded my (frankly spectacular) stretch marks, as they tell the story of carrying my beloved DD. The blubbery squishiness is new though, and my thighs have also joined the party, and appear to be using my veins as party streamers into the bargain. I may have to accept this also.

What if our hypothetical half stone resulted in more loose skin? Yikes.

Thanks for the solidarity btw!

Mounjaroday · 02/10/2025 19:11

Wotcha. Been a bit quiet. This is such hard work!! Still haven’t shifted any weight at all.

My loose skin is like soft crepe paper!

Fell into Zara today. Didn’t buy anything but tried on a few bits. Including this dress IN A MEDIUM which I have to say was stunning. Wish I had bought it now. Silly me.

Buy it! Buy it!

(yours, the enabler)

WoolerOwl · 02/10/2025 21:29

It is lovely. And you made me take a look at dresses in Zara!

I realize that many of my clothes look really loose. I was in some work photos this week, and my work jacket, which I thought was ok in a 14, looks quite loose, despite my having broad shoulders. Some skirts are ok as they just sit on my hips rather than being stretched to their limit higher up my stomach.

I've just bought a 12 skirt on Vinted. And realized that I have a great vintage fitted coat that I haven't been able to do up for years, so I will get that out again. But I need to do a bit more of a cull of my wardrobes before we move house, as there's no point moving all the big stuff. And it might be quite nicer to have some slinky fitted stuff . . .

You need to buy this. I don't normally go for stuff in Zara but this is perfect. Report back please!

laundryhamper · 02/10/2025 23:19

I haven’t been able to fit into Zara for years. Even then I was an XL. However am now just 1.4kg off my TW so maybe it’s possible.

PurpleCoo · 03/10/2025 08:32

Feeling positive this morning so thought I would share a progress picture, which hopefully will show how useful I think doing body pump is. I think it's helped me keep my legs and bum looking reasonably toned, so I would really recommend it to others who are hoping to keep toned thighs and a perky bum. Not that I think I have a perky bum, but it's not too saggy for almost 50 and 25kg off in nearly 8 months. Still need work on my belly though!! Lower belly bulge is stubbornly hanging on, and a little bit of podge above my waistband, but it is very slowly shrinking. I am keeping faith.

I wanted a new top that wouldn't gape in Pilates when doing downward dog and forward folds but it ended up being a bit too clingy! It doesn't look too bad when I am standing up but definite belly rolls when I touch my toes. I might keep it for motivation to try and reach the point when I can wear it in public 😱🤦‍♀️🤣

Thanks for your lovely comments ladies. I hadn't looked at those photos I sent for my first prescription for ages and I was quite shocked at the difference.

@CoolLimeSheep Was it today you were doing the waterfalls walk? How did you get on, did you go behind the big one? Those steps are killer aren't they?

Started at a size 18 and I’m now a size 10…which I don’t think I’ve ever been. I’m tall - so have had to buy pretty much a whole new wardrobe…Total weight loss so far 5 1/2 stone. I’m at tw and have kept it off for 6 weeks.
