Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

@PurpleCoo isn't the castles in wales beautiful i loved caenarfon castle beutiful but can defo understand your calves burning. I bike ride to work now but still cant manage biking up hills 🤣

WoolerOwl · 29/09/2025 07:12

I always find the weight comes off in a chunk a few days after being back from a holiday, when the water retention from travelling settles down. Sounds like you’ve done amazingly well, @PurpleCoo . So fit!

skyscrapersinging · 29/09/2025 09:43

Happy start of the week, warriors.
CW 66.8kg
SW 89.2kg
BMI 21.3

I think I may have cracked maintenance. First week I’ve stayed the same. I‘m genuinely nervous now about getting too thin, if my BMI gets too low my provider might cut me off! If I keep losing weight for the rest of my existing pen stash, I might have to take less of each dose or space out dosage a bit more.

NSV I’ve started a new contract and run into a stack of people I knew from 5-10 years ago (my Fat Decade) and everyone has commented how well I look.

CoolLimeSheep · 29/09/2025 09:56

@skyscrapersinging what lovely comments you had.
Is a worry of going to thin hope youve managed to crack the maintain.

Im not sure what people have said they've used for hair loss but I keep seeing pumpkin seed oil advertised has anyone used this and has it helped dont want buy something if it ain't going help and does anyone know if when we do eventually stop weightloss pens will it grow back?

usedtobeaylis · 29/09/2025 11:27

Does anyone know where you can get the needles that come with the pen? I've just realised that since I've been taking lower doses for months now that I'm not going to have enough needles. I've no idea where to get decent proper ones. Do any pharmacies sell them on their own?

Forgot to mention also that I hit a capillary or something yesterday when I injected - properly spurted blood when I withdrew the needle and I've got a peach of a purple and blue bruise. Been feeling very strong suppression since so looked it up and apparently it's fairly common - it just means some of the medication absorbs more quickly. Definitely an unforeseen effect of losing fat and having capillaries and veins closer to the surface!

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 29/09/2025 13:03

Well done @PurpleCoo your trip sounds just incredible. I did Snowdon earlier this year and loved it, would like to try some of the other routes.

i did a 50km hike on Saturday, around 1000m of elevation, it took 10.5 hours, loved it and although it was tough, my recovery has been pretty good.

Used the golden dose and weighed this morning, lost hardly anything and I had a gain last week so feel like I'm going backwards. I am sure there is some inflammation from the hike though so will be patient and see what happens this week. Still experiencing a good amount of suppression and I am just trying to trust the process.

SW 82.6kg
CW 71.5kg
TW 65(ish)kg

Also, can't believe it's nearly October, this year has gone so fast!

usedtobeaylis · 29/09/2025 16:10

Thank you @sweetpickle2 I don't know why I never thought that they would just be the same ones people with diabetes use!

CoolLimeSheep · 29/09/2025 21:41

Ive requested blood test for hair loss my local pharmacy suggested I need find root cause before I buy supplements and I really dont want waste money on supplements if they dont work been on multivitamins with collegen for months and have b12 injection of gp as thats low. Only requested as I did have thick hair but even my mate noticed its thin now
@ThatJoyousHazelDuck and smashed it well done so many victories

PurpleCoo · 29/09/2025 22:12

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck wowsers, that's some hike! Well done you.

Thanks for all the positive comments as well. I was always fit and active, but I feel at a different level now with the weight gone and since I have been doing body pump. Even though I still have a way to go with weight loss, I just love how leaner I am looking now. I wore my new lululemon leggings and tight fit sweaty betty top to class tonight, and don't think I looked hideous! I don't want to lose that and go back to how I was before. I find myself thinking more about what I eat and wanting to improve my body, by eating protein and trying to build muscle mass/reduce fat. I can't see me turning into a body builder or anything, but I am getting into the progressive weights and manipulating what I eat to fine tune my body composition mentality. Hopefully it lasts even when not on MJ! 🤞

Following with interest. Because hair loss is now listed as a side effect f MJ I hadn't investigated any further but be interesting to see if there could be another cause.

Got my blood test tommorow so will more than likely be back friday or monday so will keep you posted!
Decided take my wegovy today feel a little nauseus but surprisingly feels same as mj unless its just psychological 🤣

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 01/10/2025 07:26

Weighed this morning to test the inflammation theory, down over half a kilo and for the first time in many years, my weight starts with 70 😊, we won't mention the 0.9 🤣

Interested about the hair loss, mine has been on a cycle of shedding a couple of times a year since I turned 40 but I've definitely noticed an increase this year on MJ. For the first time in my adult life, I need to think about volumising products and techniques. Sad times.

TheYouYouAre · 01/10/2025 10:13

Hi all! Really encouraging to see so many of us at the same sort of weight or BMI - I’m another one who’s almost under 70kg and very close to the ‘normal’ BMI bracket now.

After months of nothing, I’ve had a few comments on weightloss recently. Which is good because it means that it IS noticeable! (Funny how my brain isn’t as quick to catch up with the visuals I see in the mirror, so a bit of validation is nice). But also a bit of a negative because I’m worried that people will assume the worst (rapid weight loss over a couple of weeks all because of WLI) because they haven’t seen that it’s been 8 months and a lot of work in the gym, building muscle and good habits etc. I guess we can’t have it both ways, it’s not as if I haven’t been using WLI, I just don’t want people to assume the results are all from the point they started noticing it, if that makes sense.

I tried these jeans on for the first time since Spring. When I bought them, they just about did up but were uncomfortably tight. Now they are off to the donation pile!

Happy to read so many good updates. Well done, everyone!

Only on sporadically still because the new colours give me a headache. Weight still under control too!

Lurked briefly the other day and saw @WoolerOwl 's comment about healthy competition helping her. It helps me too so I miss posting here.

I'm thinking about trying microdosing with 0.06ml (1/10th of starting dose). The benefits for reduced inflammation still stand out for me.

SpiralSister · 01/10/2025 12:22

Wotcher, warriors! Checking in from that there abroad! 🌞🌞🌞

I am doing ok, swimming and doing some stretches and planks to keep my hand in. Eating and drinking what I fancy, fortunately still feeling full quite quickly. Would like to STS this week but could live with a couple of pounds on.

On the hair loss issue - is it not the weight loss itself that causes loss, rather than WLIs specifically? And that it should return in time? I hope so.

CoolLimeSheep · 01/10/2025 13:37

@SpiralSister glad your enjoying your holiday 😊
I tried asking that about hairloss wether it will come back to pharmacy and got that reply I posted other day I even asked what supplements can I use . Had my blood test just so will see and update you all I am bruising alot easier now aswell keep waking up with bruising on my legs 🦵 in random places but feel ok I suppose I just want reassurance

SpiralSister · 01/10/2025 15:33

Yes, def please update us @CoolLimeSheep

I wonder how is our lovely @Zibb?

CoolLimeSheep · 01/10/2025 16:08

I miss @Zibb too hope shes ok

CoolLimeSheep · 01/10/2025 16:47

On other news totally unrelated to weightloss sad news another person has died on snowdon🥲 this year hope everyone has a good week! Probably wont weigh in till tues as away again from friday although high winds are due!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 01/10/2025 18:28

Yes also hope Zibb is okay. Might have missed something with her so thinking of you, Zibb. Don't be a stranger.

My Mounjaro was approved. Have delivery next week so microdosing here I come...

On the hair loss front, I didn't have bad hair loss with Mounjaro but I take Biotin which helps. Also my calorie intake stayed pretty high which helps with nutrients. Hope no-one in here has any other probs.

I was also bruising a lot as I started to taper Mounjaro. I bruise fairly easily anyhow and am back to normal levels now.

PurpleCoo · 01/10/2025 18:39

I am bruising a lot too, although I also always bruised easily. Apparently it's to do with your vascular system being less protected due to reduced fat, but should settle as things reposition. I certainly notice my veins are more visible and slightly prominent (but not like varicose veins!). I look like I have been abused on my left arm... I think it must be where me 26kg dog trampled on me! None of the bruises are in weird places.

That's very sad about the young man on Snowdon. Hope the weather is ok for you @CoolLimeSheep It looks as though the worst of it will be in the NW and Scotland

WoolerOwl · 01/10/2025 19:07

I definitely have hair loss and also regrowth but I don’t think it’s noticeable to anyone else. I’m curious to know whether it’s the MJ or the weight loss. I’ve been taking collagen and biotin for a while and have now added in pumpkin oil and gentle iron. But it will take ages to have any effect, so who knows?!

I’m getting loads of comments about weight loss now. None for the first four stone, all during the last (nearly) stone. I’m just sticking to a light version of the truth: low carb, intermittent fasting, and exercise.

Went for a run this morning at 6.30am. So proud of myself! Need to keep up with the rest of you who are just under 70kg. Definitely healthy competition!

WoolerOwl · 01/10/2025 19:15

PS @SpiralSister I did pool exercises while I was away. Definitely came back with stronger arms and legs. Here’s a link if it’s helpful: rebalancept.com/tips-advice/pool-exercises-without-equipment-summer/

strongermummy · 01/10/2025 23:54

@CoolLimeSheeplow folate sometimes is common with low B12. And causes hair loss. Worth checking those levels and making sure they are optimal, not “just” normal.

best of luck!
