Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

Just taken my final jab. Im not at target but cant afford them going forward (for the moment anyway). Feel a bit sad. Will keep up with changes made and hope for the best

W29 Day 1 - week 6 on 8mg
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 10lb
Loss this week: 2lb
Tota loss: 3st 9lb

Amazing to have a 2lb loss showing this morning considering I had a day out yesterday where I ate and drank a fair bit. I'm only 5lb away from having lost FOUR stone!

PurpleCoo · 07/09/2025 11:55

Well done @usedtobeaylis

For those of us who are staying the same, it's worth hopping on the Boditrax machine if your gym has one. In 8 days my weight is exactly the same to the .10 of a kg, but I have gained 1kg in muscle and lost 1kg of fat. Suddenly a STS is not a STS at all

CoolLimeSheep · 07/09/2025 17:25

@SkintSingleMumm good luck i think you'll be able to do it with the changes you have made 😊
@usedtobeaylis woohoo 2lb off smashing it.
Great advice @PurpleCoo also sometimes lose inches too rather than pounds.
Wins a win 🏆 🙌

Just seen the article below, looks like a GLP pill is on the way next year

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/weight-loss-pill-uk-mounjaro-jab-orforglipron-b2821860.html

makes u wonder if this is why they are maxing out profits from MJ currently as this is on the way. The injecting will be putting some off. Plus for the NHS storing and distribution of a pill is far easier and cheaper than injections that have to be stored in a fridge.

New weight-loss pill could reach UK by next year, says Mounjaro boss

Eli Lilly’s new pill could offer an easier path to weight loss for needle-averse patients

Wondering if the dose bring spread out a bit each day makes the side effects less and if it makes the suppression/satiety more even over the week. Bit like the micro dosing I have read about some people doing.

CoolLimeSheep · 06/09/2025 08:20

Im nearly at target for healthy bmi which is a stone away but in all honesty im quite happy with what I weigh now. I would too if needed to go back on if needed to! And will definately titrate off thats what I think I will need another month of mj for! But I do agree there is not enough evidence!
These are my before and now pics 13 months on

Wow. Well done @CoolLimeSheep. You look like a younger relative of your former self!!!

usedtobeaylis · 08/09/2025 01:09

It is so mad looking at my progress in other ways - I've lost 3st 9lb which sounds like a lot but so also does 51lbs. Fifty one whole pounds!

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 08/09/2025 08:13

Another kilo off this week 🎊 and that was with barely any exercise as I put my back out last weekend, all I've been able to do is walk and thats only been since Wednesday.

Yesterday I went to a little afternoon tea party with the most amazing savoury and sweet charcuterie boards, I enjoyed some food but was definitely more drawn to the savoury which is still a shock to me. Lots of olives, crudités and dips rather than sweets, chocolates and cakes.

2nd 5mg dose today
Original SW 82.6kg
Second SW (after 2.5 month break) 75.5kg
CW 71.6kg
Current TW 69.8kg (under 11 stone)
End TW maybe 65kg

Have a great Monday everyone 😀

sweetpickle2 · 08/09/2025 10:11

So many great losses and pics, it's so inspiring!

Same weight for me this week- I broke my foot last week and have been on bed rest so honestly was expecting a gain, as I've done about 100 steps a day shuffling to and from the loo!

SW 107.8kg
CW 80kg

I would love to break into the 70s, mainly as I have just never been there as an adult! But if I can just manage to maintain this I'll be a happy girl.

Have great weeks all!

usedtobeaylis · 08/09/2025 10:13

How has anyone found skipping a jag for a week? I was so busy at the weekend and there was a mixture of drinking and hangover-ing so I decided not to take it. I was going to take it this morning but in all honesty still feeling a bit delicate so don't want to risk it. I think I'll take it if I feel I need it, I can imagine being ravenous by tomorrow, but just wondering how anyone has found skipping it then going back to their normal dose the next week?

I did. I skipped a week when I went on holiday and then had to wait a couple of days for a new pen to be delivered when I got back. It was fine going back on the same dose.

@usedtobeaylis ive skipped a few times through my journey and been fine aswell just took it when wanted and normal dose 😊

Zibb · 08/09/2025 15:14

Just did my last dose of MJ.

SW: 115.8kg
CW: 72.5kg

BMI was 42.5 and now it's 26.7.

In 28 days I've only lost 2.2kg. Disappointed in myself, feel like I've wasted my last pen.

I am not feeling very hopeful about losing the last 5kg and then maintaining it without help. I'm not going to give up and I am going to try my hardest but I have always regained the weight in the past.

I'm not stupid. I know about healthy eating, CICO, portion control, exercise, all of that. I've done therapy for BED and impulse control issues and emotional eating. Even with all of that I have never done as well as I have on MJ.

I feel like I have just started a countdown to weighing 115kg again. But we'll see. I'm trying to believe I can do this.

I am so immensely grateful for these threads, the support and the head wobbles, and everything in between. It's been a lifeline so many times. I am also so proud of everyone! You are all incredible and your achievements (scale and non-scale) are so inspiring and impressive.

See you on the other side!

Thats lovely zibb and im sure here with us and some support we can help you i do beleive you can do it but can understand your fear 😨. I too can be a very emotional eater so hoping that doesnt come back myself.
Here for you and defo not wasted your pen you've still lost. Sometimes it does go slow which is annoying 😑

WoolerOwl · 08/09/2025 18:28

We’re still here, @Zibb , and can continue here whether we’re still taking MJ or not. I think the weight loss definitely slows down as we get lighter. And sometimes we lose cms without losing kgs.

So please don’t lose heart. You’ve come so far. Think of the times you’ve tried to lose weight previously and not been able to keep going. I bet you’ve got much further this time.

And MJ hasn’t done all the work for you this time. You’ve had to work at it, find willpower, learn new behaviours around food, and eat differently. You can take those positive experiences with you into the next chapter.

WoolerOwl · 08/09/2025 18:34

I wonder if it would help at this point to think of the new ways of eating, thinking, and behaving that we’ve learned on our MJ journey that we intend to stick with?

A few from me:

I don’t actually keel over if I don’t eat breakfast!

A couple of litres of water/electrolytes a day makes me feel better, fills up my stomach, and seems to help me lose weight.

For main meals, I make sure that my main source of carbs is lots of veg and a little fruit. The rest needs to be protein and healthy fats.

Any more?

SpiralSister · 08/09/2025 19:50

@Zibb, please stay here, MJ or not. All the support and camaraderie will still exist. I value your presence here, and I won’t be the only one!

Good shout, @WoolerOwl. Along with all the food stuff, I’ve learnt that my body is strong and beautiful and absolutely deserves to be cherished. That being strong is a million times more important than what it looks like. That exercise is a gift to myself, not a penance to punish myself for imagined lazy and greedy ways. I hope this means something to you, @Zibb.

CoolLimeSheep · 08/09/2025 21:33

Amazing wise words from you all for @Zibb and I agree stay here with us 😊 . We're all here for you ❤️ amd I'll be joining you in no pen soon myself wether at target or not and plan staying on here. Like everyone said mj didn't do it for you it was just a tool 😊

Mounjaroday · 08/09/2025 22:35

I agree @Mounjaroday 👍💯😍

laundryhamper · 08/09/2025 23:22

Just heard a doctor on TV saying that the NHS “can’t afford to give GLP-1s out to everyone”.

But surely, it’s got to be cheaper than treating people for obesity related diseases, right? I mean, diabetes, cancer, heart disease aren’t cheap to treat - not to mention all the lost tax revenue when people are too fat/ill to go out to work?

PurpleCoo · 09/09/2025 07:10

@Zibb I'm only losing about 2kg a month now as well and we are both about the same weight (I was 72.5 for two weeks running, but 72.05 today). At this weight it's going to be much slower and is normal, so don't be disappointed in yourself. I mentioned above using the Boditrax machine, I had lost 1kg of fat and gained 1kg of muscle in that STS week, so do also bear that in mind.

Do stay around for support as well. We will still be here and the support after stopping is just as important, if not more so. It seems there are a few of you who are coming off the injections now, so are at the same place. We have all been on this journey together for a long time now, and I have found the support, encouragement and suggestions invaluable.

Another agree here, I am still on my journey but would love to keep up and support those ahead of me and trying to maintain either on or off the meds. Hopefully over time this becomes a maintenance support thread for those of us who started our journeys together. Even if you don’t lose any more it’s a win to be able to keep at the same or similar weight after MJ.

I did read that done newer studies show even after coming off it isn’t like normal diets and most keep off at least a fair percentage of their losses, enough to make a health difference.

currently in a bit of a plateau myself which is disheartening. Lost 4 stone and need another 2 or so, but keep going up and down around 13 stone. But we need to keep plugging at it. I believe we can all get there.

Regarding The NHS comment I wonder if they are trying to hang on for the pill versions of these drugs in the pipeline. They will be by their nature cheaper to produce, purchase and distribute and store.
