Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

does anyone know what % of one’s max dose one needs for maintenance?

I don’t think there’s really a metric for a definitive answer about this. It seems like it’s all very much “try
it and see”. It’ll all be very much dependent upon how much lifestyle/exercise and what calories they’re eating for their size etc. From what I see on my maintenance group, some
people are maintaining on as little as 2.5mg every ten days and some are on 15mg every single week! I guess given the cost now, everyone will be trying to go as low as poss to reduce the cost?

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 05/09/2025 19:28

There's more than a few of us in maintenence not on any Mounjaro and doing fine. You just need to find what works for you.

CoolLimeSheep · 05/09/2025 21:23

Hi everyone well done on victory's or nsv wins and for some that just cant afford it im sure youve made enough changes to still lose without or switch to wegovy! @Zibb I do remember ypu saying your doing snowdon this month! Have you been or is that upcoming?
My update
I didn't jab on holiday did a small gain of 2 lb which now seems to be coming off and im back into my classes and in all honesty enjoyed myself and was hitting alot of steps.
I still have 3 weeks left off jab so will see if I need 1 more month at new price then myself its to stop.( hope i dont change my mind). I know mj has been a life changer for me and all of us but am wondering if there upping price to scare us to beleive we cant change our habits and seen some posts that doctors recommend you should be on it for life. I do beleive we are all stronger than we think in terms of food and do understand some of us use food for comfort. Bit I do beleive in every single one of us and our choices will get us where we want to be!

i Suspect the drs say this as it is the recommendation from the manufacturer and they have a vested interest in people taking it long term. The reality is for people with diabetes or other metabolic issues maybe it is a long term thing. But not much study has looked into coming off the meds at target. I have seen a lot of people and drs say well people put weight back on after any diet. But this isn’t any diet and we don’t know how much it possibly resets your own internal systems. It’s certainly makes you aware of how small portions can and should be and enables u to make good lifestyle choices.

can recall where but saw a recent study that suggested whilst on average there was a bounce back in weight for most coming off it was not a full put all the weight back on situation by any means and I have seen many many on maintenance boards here and on other sites who have come off and kept the majority if not all the weight off.

from what I have read it seems to work best if you change your lifestyle and diet whilst on it, then titrate down and extend time between jabs before finally coming off.

i intend to do this once at target. I also intend to use intermittent fasting which I have used before and am happy with to keep calories down a few days in the week to balance and slip ups that may happen on weekends etc.

but I will not dismiss having to go back onto a low dose if I need to and intend to sign up to a maintenance friendly pharmacy before I come off just in case.

Im nearly at target for healthy bmi which is a stone away but in all honesty im quite happy with what I weigh now. I would too if needed to go back on if needed to! And will definately titrate off thats what I think I will need another month of mj for! But I do agree there is not enough evidence!

Incredible, @CoolLimeSheep! You look amazing!

Weigh in day here. Another pound off. When I feel tempted to moan about the now glacial nature of my weight loss, I have to remember that I have never had such consistent losses on any diet before, nor maintained any diet for this length of time. Plus I’m relatively close to goal. I’ll get there. We’ll get there!

SW: 15.5
CW: 11.2
GW: 10.9 (the holy land of healthy BMI). See how I feel/look when I get there..

Have a great weekend, warriors! 💐

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 06/09/2025 08:48

So many amazing results in here. Well done, warriors!

We have two big milestone family events this weekend, one on each side of the family. The one thing I won't be dreading is the seeing the photos after the events.

I used to keep alert to whoever had their phone or camera poised for a photo, so I could duck out of the shot. I still don't like having my photo taken but am glad I can just grin and bear it.

CoolLimeSheep · 06/09/2025 08:55

@SpiralSister woohoo your so close! Slow but steady wins the race 🏆 fantastic
@Nomoretopswithblacktrousers its such a nice feeling when you dont feel like you have stay away from pics of fear of how you look and feel! so good on you! Enjoy those family dinners 🍽

MrsHero · 06/09/2025 09:10

Wow @CoolLimeSheep , what an incredible transformation! You look like your own daughter!! ❤️

Has anyone found that clothes which were once super flattering are actually now too big and make you look larger? I've got a family event today and my nice summer dress which looked amazing at the end of May is now 'ok' but doesn't make me want to pirouette in front of the mirror anymore.

CoolLimeSheep · 06/09/2025 09:43

@MrsHero thanks funny enough a colleague said to me other day you look so much younger is strange isn't it how weight can age you!
I totally relate to clothes becoming less flattering as you lose weight and making you look bigger. The amount of clothes ive had to buy through this journey and donate to charity is unbelievable 🤣 I defo need to ask work for new uniform as ive still got mens 2xl top that im wearing at moment so thats next on list

SpiralSister · 06/09/2025 09:50

Totes agree re age thing. I was told that I look younger in the face - I mean I was going for thinner, but I’ll take younger! 😁

Also on clothes - I want to wear more fitted things after a lifetime of ‘flattering’ and ‘skimming’ garments. But still also love a good old flouncy frock. I have a fabulous ruched and tiered and drawstringed piece of wearable art by Ghospell in the wardrobe, eff knows when I’m wearing that and it won’t make me look slim. But maybe we need to not care!

usedtobeaylis · 06/09/2025 10:15

Oh @CoolLimeSheep you look amazing. It's not just about being thinner but I just look at that picture and think how truly life changing Mounjaro is for so many people. The type of clothes people wear when they've lost so much weight points to confidence and I love to see it.

CoolLimeSheep · 06/09/2025 10:42

@SpiralSister Yep take younger than thinner anyday ❤️ and defo go for thinner and flattering and yeh we need not care what we wear anymore just embrace amd enjoy what we wear @usedtobeaylisTotally agree its just not about being thinner and the confidence in people including myself is so powerful and also the self love ❤️ and worth is so much more important . Surprising how much my mental health has changed since getting healthy. Im sure this has improved for alot of us all. I have had so much happen recently so have my interview thursday for swimming assistant so hopefully 🤞 it goes well and I can go on the course for it end of Oct then be both a cleaner and swimming assistant at work so few more hours a week.

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 06/09/2025 13:19

@CoolLimeSheep you look amazing and that tattoo is lovely.

I've just picked up a couple of vinted parcels amd am so confused by sizings. All from the same brand (Ralph Lauren which i love). One dress advertised as size 14, arrived and it's a size 4, which i know is American sizing so I think 8-10, the other 2 size large which i would say is a 14, maybe a big 12.
Anyway, the size 4 bloody fits perfectly, I nearly didn't try it on when I saw the label.
The other dress is too big but I am going to try with a belt, the jumper is a bit big but actually looks ok.
I clearly have no idea what my size is anymore.

Thank you!
I know sizing is crazy isn't it.
It baffles me how one can fit and others too big when I buy. 😊

PurpleCoo · 06/09/2025 14:46

@CoolLimeSheep Wow, you look amazing! What a transformation! Very well done

Yes totally agree about the clothes making you look bigger. I was determined not to put my hand in my pocket and 'waste' money on clothes that would be too big after 5 minutes, but I can't get over how much better I look in walking trousers that fit. My coats are now looking ridiculous (I do have a lot of different kinds because I am outdoors walking all year round). I just bought a size 12 light-mid weight long waterproof coat and I look so much better. Unfortunately this has triggered a spending spree and bought myself new Hokas, plus my frying pan is knackered and couldn't decide between the ninja ones and the Le Creuset cast iron skillet, and after a long discussion with foodie friends about the merits of different types of pans for different types of cooking got both (each are different sizes though), which reminded me my blender needs replacing so got the soup maker/blender from Ninja. My poor bank balance 🤦‍♀️🤣

The dresses are staying though. I tried all of them on yesterday, from size 12s to 16s and even the 16s still look good with wide belts.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 06/09/2025 15:09

You look incredible, @CoolLimeSheep Congratulations!

We had an amazing tasting menu for the lunch event.

DHs sister in law would not shut up about the meal being calorie free because it was for a special occasion. She's quite overweight. She also kept saying how she can't remember the last time she ate so much.

Her behaviour hit home to me and how different life is now.

I wondered if she felt guilty and ashamed like I used to for eating a big meal in front of others.

I never wanted to consider how much I must have eaten to get as big as I was. And not necessarily bingeing, just too much food. Suspect I was in denial...

As I ate well and normally this week I enjoyed the meal without any issue. And I was also very aware of portion sizes.

I like my life now!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 06/09/2025 15:12

@CoolLimeSheep Yes photos feel great now. I wore a beautiful orange dress I'd bought on Vinted. And the photos are lovely memories rather than horrible reminders of how fat and bloated I used to look.

SpiralSister · 06/09/2025 15:25

MynameisJune · 06/09/2025 17:09

Loving all these NSV’s and shopping sprees! The happiness really does come off the page reading these.

I need to keep reminding myself that I am not the size I was 6 months ago. I very randomly put on 3lb overnight. Didn’t eat anything special, didn’t have more than usual etc. Figured it was probably because my period is due. Lost 1lb the next day but am hovering as 2lb more than I was on Sunday last week. Period still hasn’t arrived so probably screwy hormones again. I’m bloated and feel like I’m back to my starting weight not 2lb up! I clearly still have some mental adjustments to do.

sc0ttishlass · 06/09/2025 17:33

@CoolLimeSheep fabulous pictures! Well done!!!
Likewise, colleague said I looked younger. Its a funny thing as I felt like I looked young before (aka had a puppy fat look!!) But actually latterly my face was practically unrecognisable.it was almost double the size!.

Loving reading everyone's updates today..really inspiring!

Same here. I realise all my pics for about the last ten years are of me from neck up only. Clearly I’ve deleted anything that showed my fat arms and belly… :(
