Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

Edited

Amazing, well done!

sweetpickle2 · 29/08/2025 11:17

Well done @Mounjaroday!!

Zibb · 29/08/2025 12:44

@FunnyCrabDance Yes, that was me and my bloody 5kg gain! Finally back to to my pre-Chinese dinner weight - 5 days later.

I hope your brain is on it's best behaviour today. You are not going to get fat again, it just needs time to adjust. You've got this!

@narkyspirit well done on your losses! So close to your goal, too. Go you!

@Mounjaroday Congratulations and well done! Buzzing for you 👏

sweetpickle2 · 29/08/2025 12:57

Had a cheeky weigh in this morning and look how annoying this is...

I'm starting to wonder if I've imagined my weight loss. Seriously 😂

Decided to try on a pair of size 14 leggings this morning. Leggings! Stretchy! Thinking surely, surely I can fit into these now.

Hardly. I can get them on thanks to them being stretchy but not totally comfortably and the legs ride up every time I move.

I'm still in the position of having lost 3.4 stone and not a single dress size 😭

Same here, I'm still in the same underwear, as 3 stone ago from the start of Feb, albeit baggy pants now! I am wearing size 18/16 t shirts still, and 14 skirts are still a tight fit on me. 11 stone at 5' 6 here. Haven't lost a pound over the whole of August either, which is nice....

This doesn't bode well for me, I'm 5' 6" as well, but 13 stone 1lb. Maybe I'm just doomed to be a size 16 forever, I've only lost 2lb this month and I'm hoping for something off on Sunday but I'm not feeling like I've lost anything. I feel huge, actually. I've got an event coming up this week and I'm thinking if I've not seen a shift on the scales by the following Sunday I might go up to 10mg and see if it kickstarts me even though it disrupts my plans to under-dose and taper off. This has been my toughest stall because it was so soon after the last one and this I feel is what a lot of people who criticise us don't understand about weight loss. I'm doing everything right including the Mounjaro and I'm not losing any weight, for weeks at a time. We know the best, sustainable weight loss is slow and steady and that there will be plateaus we need to fight through - but this is where people (on Mounjaro or off it, but most of us have been there off it) think 'this just isn't working' and they chuck it. Because it feels like it's not working and there's no evidence that it is. The plateaus are hard.

skyscrapersinging · 29/08/2025 17:20

@Mounjaroday congrats! We all know BMI is bullshit, but getting into that green zone is such a great feeling!

SpiralSister · 30/08/2025 08:30

Morning, warriors!

Weigh in day. Another measly pound off. Blinking heck, at only a pound off per week this will be a long haul to get to goal (whatever that turns out to be!😬). Perhaps this is telling me something though. I’m close to where I need to be, BMI or no. On 10mg, and do really struggle to eat enough the first few days, perhaps I am over compensating later on..

Anyhoo:
SW: 15.5
CW: 11.3
TL: 4.2
GW: Fuck knows at this point. Will enter healthy BMI at 10.9.

I was told this week not to lose any more, as I am getting a turkey neck. So that was nice! 🥴

Fuck them. I will wear my size 12 jeans today and be fabulous.

Have a great weekend, warriors 💐

WoolerOwl · 30/08/2025 10:15

I’m sure you haven’t got a turkey neck, and no one should be making those sorts of comments about you anyway, but my own personal philosophy is better a turkey neck than a turkey waddle, which I felt like I had before losing weight.

They’re just jealous!

WoolerOwl · 30/08/2025 10:21

Speaking of not waddling, I shuffled my way through week 4 day 2 of C25K first thing. Bumped into the parkrunners, which made me feel very inadequate! If I can get to running 5k before we move house in October, I will join them one Saturday. However slowly, I will do it.

SpiralSister · 30/08/2025 10:30

Thanks, @WoolerOwl! I think they thought they were being caring, as I am wasting away or something..actual madness. I’m just not the fat one any more.

Gah! Why is our weight/size public property?

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 30/08/2025 12:57

@WoolerOwl I've just did week 5 run 3 this morning. It was a massive step up from what I've been doing (don't want to put you off so won't go into detail) but I did it! And so will you! If you would have said 5 weeks ago I could do this run I would have laughed in your face. I could barely do the 1 minute runs! Granted my husband could walk quicker than I jog but I'm still going 🤣

We had to weigh my 8year old the other day as he's competing in a Jujutsu competition and he weighs 4 stone 4lb. That's pretty much how much I've lost in weight since January! That's mad! How on earth was I carrying that around with me everyday.

Have a wonderful weekend ❤️

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 30/08/2025 14:02

Congratulations to the new runners! parkrun is so inclusive of people at every stage of running or walking. People are usually really friendly and normally go for coffee after.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 30/08/2025 14:08

I can't find the post about who bought the Fantasie side support bras. I just wanted to say I loved those bras!

Annoying now all I need is a c cup and they don't have a side support option. Oddly I probably need that more than ever now. 😁

I'm also very proud of myself as I had the perfect opportunity to have "just one or two" snacks with my sandwich today whilst out shopping and I didn't buy a single one. It didn't even take a lot of willpower. Felt really in control which is staggering and much better than before I went on Mounjaro. I wonder how long this can last!

usedtobeaylis · 30/08/2025 14:26

I'm also on week 4 of c25k, I used to run years ago and I'm always kicking myself that I stopped. I tried when I was at my heaviest and it felt Impossible so I do find it a bit easier now with less weight (but still hard as f!)

A strange phenomenon - men and schoolboys have randomly started saying hello and good evening and good morning to me. It's really freaking me out. I'm not under any illusions that it's because I'm 'attracting' attention, but I am clearly less invisible at the moment for some reason which is really annoying the hell out of me. I don't know whether it's a social power play from emboldened males to make women look at them and that this is happening to everyone, or if it's just because I'm slimmer now and less Invisible in general. I quite enjoyed my invisibility from men so this isn't positive for me, I find it a bit intimidating in all honesty.

Dumplers · 30/08/2025 16:47

Back from holiday last week with DH, DDs and their partners. I was goodish foodwise, (had fish and chips, hell did I suffer and could still taste them the following day 🤢, never again,) but my family are a bad influence alcohol wise.when on hols.
I'd put on 5lb but thankfully lost 4 on my weigh in today which I'm chuffed about.
Also, had my regular visit to a local charity shop today, a lovely lady works there and we often have a chat. I was busy looking through the clothes when the lady says hello to me. I turned to her and said hello back. She said she wasn't 100% sure it was me and asked if I had lost weight, I told her I had and she said I look amazing and the loss is so obvious.o 😁 She said she hoped I wasn't offended by her asking, I told her she had made my day. Funny though, my mil has never mentioned about my weight loss, (I've not said anything to her about my journey) yet if my overweight sil lost a feckin oz she'd bloody notice and enjoy telling me. 😡😡

usedtobeaylis · 31/08/2025 07:56

W28 Day - week 5 on 8mg
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 12lb
Loss this week: 3lb
Total loss: 3st 7lb

Finally into the 12 stone something bracket 🙌

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 31/08/2025 08:14

@usedtobeaylis I know what you mean about being noticed more. I used to walk around wanting to be invisible though and I think that makes quite a difference, with both men and women.

In the meantime, Must Stay Off Vinted!

WoolerOwl · 31/08/2025 09:47

@Nomoretopswithblacktrousers I didn’t recommend the Fantasie bras but I have just bought one (and ordered two more) and it is wonderful. Enough stretch in the cup to fit well, and the side panels under the arm keep my blubber under control. Also comfortable enough to forget about. They remind me in shape of the Primadonna Deauville, which I’ve had previously, best bra ever, but that’s about double the price.

@Marypoppinsisnosaint I’ve heard about the leap to That Run in wk 5 of C25K. Will let you know when I get there. I too look back on my struggle in wk1 even to do a minute’s run, and marvel at beIng able to manage five.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 31/08/2025 11:41

@WoolerOwl Aah I have bra envy. I haven't tried Primadonna. Didn't really want to spend that much money but if they come in a c cup and have decent support I will definitely consider..

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 31/08/2025 12:42

Back from looking at Primadonna. Beautiful bras but wow those prices! Think I'll be sticking to my M&S bras for now. 😁

PurpleCoo · 31/08/2025 13:41

Hi everyone, I'm back from my holiday. Lovely to read about all the achievements. Well done to those in the healthy BMI range, and go you runners!

We walked 107 miles over 10 days (total step count, so includes mooching) and climbed a Corbett, which was my grandsons first mountain. Although less than I would usually walk, the grandson is only 7 (well 8 while we were away) so we didn't go too wild.

I didn't track when away, and ended up having treats I wouldn't have done if it wasn't with a 7/8 year old, who had his birthday, so lots of cake and going out for ice creams etc. But meals were my usual at home meals other than one fish and chips night. Much to my surprise, I lost about 1.2kg, over the 10 day trip, so I am pleased with that.

Someone mentioned about being less invisible. My weight has gone up and down over the years, and I'm at my lightest, but I can honestly say I never notice any difference in the way men or women treat me. Well, that's not quite true... There are more 'interested' men who want to talk to you, but if it's just the people you meet in day to day life, I honestly don't see a difference. But I have always been a highly 'visible' person. I get recognised hundreds of miles from home from people who have met me before, which is often mortifying as I am terrible at faces, so I hardly ever remember people until they jog my memory of the circumstances, then I do remember. I often get people queueing to say hello to my dogs or random people taking pictures as we walk by. I once had a small crowd gather when I stopped to give my youngest a drink of water when he was a puppy in a pushchair 🤣 I also once had a whole coach load of foreign tourists wanting a photo opportunity when I had my old wolfdog type dog 🤣 I'm quite used to this and it doesn't bother me, but my partner is more introverted and 'invisible' (he is a beanpole!) and finds it quite odd the amount of people who come and interact with us 🤣 It takes forever to get anywhere if we do 'urban'

WoolerOwl · 31/08/2025 14:33

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 31/08/2025 12:42

You can sometimes get them second hand or BNWT on Vinted or eBay.
