Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

@MynameisJune thats awesome you got in size 10s well done you! . Definitely relate to looking at clothes and thinking no way. I got stitch pjs from home bargains 14/ 16 didn't bother checking they were both same size the shorts were 8/10 and fit was shocked although im sure pjs maybe a little bigger sizing and more than likely could of got 12/14 top still can grasp it. Boobs are also now 36 ff from 40h. All packed for holiday in morning wales here we come so excited. Good luck this week everyone 😊
Keep going strong and see you in a week.
@WoolerOwl good luck at weigh in tomorrow!
@Zibb defo braver than me i would not try that! And you deserve a treat sometimes cant restrict yourself forever as it would be a pain being sustainable for life 😊

SkintSingleMumm · 24/08/2025 23:55

Bah i just dont know what to do re price hikes and ordering. Ive two jabs left on my 7.5mg pen. Im in the middle of purchasing a house and mortgage is not completely agreed yet they need to look at bank statements! They will see and question this. I cant see a way round this unless i purchase on cc and just pay it off with savings straight away?! I feel i would like to order 2-3 pens before 1st sept. Or do i just give up having still got 4 stone to go?

MrsHero · 25/08/2025 00:56

WoolerOwl · 24/08/2025 16:38

I did the same with some size 12 cords in H&M last week. They looked ridiculously small. I tried them on and they definitely fit. They weren't at all nice, so I went and got some from M&S instead (also size 12 long, also fit). But the point was they both looked tiny and THEY BOTH FIT!

Isn't it so nice choosing clothes on the basis of whether you like them rather than if they fit?! It's a bit of a revelation to me!

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 25/08/2025 08:16

skyscrapersinging · 24/08/2025 16:03

@MynameisJune keep doing the same thing- hold up trousers and think they’re tiny. Then they fit. My body image is 6 months behind my weight loss. I bought some M and S super skinny jeans on Vinted (I’m Gen X, they can peel the skinnies from my stiff corpse, I don’t care what the fashion police say!) When I unpacked them I thought they were a terrible mistake and would only fit one leg. They bloody well do fit. I’m sure I have size dysmorphia.

#skinnyjeansforlife 🤣 I also wore my skinniest with pride yesterday!
Amazing to hear, well done!

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 25/08/2025 08:23

Weighed in today, another kg off, I have found it much easier coming back after having a break. Took the golden dose this morning, .7ml out of the 2.5mg pen so not much higher than usual. Love hearing your clothing triumphs, well done everyone.

Original SW 82.6kg
2nd SW 75.5kg
CW 73.5kg

Happy bank holiday Monday all

Morning losers!

I am a healthy BMI!!!! 24.3 today.

Here are all the monthly stats for my six months of MJ. Apart from the first month when I lost a huge amount (some of which was undoubtedly because I wore shoes when first getting weighed at the pharmacy), and the blip with the faulty scales in May, I’ve averaged a bit under 1kg per week. I’m 173cm tall.

25 Feb: 100kg
25 March: 92kg
24 April: 87kg
25 May: 84.8kg
26 June: 79.8kg
26 July: 76.8kg
25 Aug: 72.8kg

Goal is 68.5 and BMI 22.9.

So 4.3kg to go.

I am loving having confidence in my body, especially having started some exercise. Not being afraid to look in the mirror. Moisturising my whole body because I feel it’s worth caring for. Having sorted out my clothes, chucked/sold a load of big stuff, bought new stuff, including bras from Vinted (now properly fitting 34DD instead of 38D/36E), and enjoying getting dressed each morning.

Also most of my knee pain is gone, my skin is glowing, elbows smooth, and I’ve only had one migraine in six months. I hope my blood and liver results will be better too.

I am grateful for MJ and determined to record the positive changes as a reminder never to go back.

laundryhamper · 25/08/2025 09:25

@narkyspirit
I also hit a plateau circa my second 10mg.
I got stuck on 72kg for ages.

Have broken through that now and down to 66kg. Only 5kg off target.
I don’t know why it changed - don’t think I have been doing anything different.

SW 87
CW 66
Lost 3st 4lbs (c 24%)

SpiralSister · 25/08/2025 09:39

Amazing, @WoolerOwl! that is fantastic. A huge well done! 🏆 💐

Brilliant news @WoolerOwl!

MrsHero · 25/08/2025 12:47

Last full day of our road trip/holiday and the only one with just husband and kids after visiting friends and family... and I'm in bed with diarrhea and awful cramps! So disappointed that we're missing our day out at the museum I've been looking forward to visiting.

I do wonder if it could be linked to being late on a dose, as I usually jab on Saturday but am saving it til we get home tomorrow night. Also I've been unusually constipated for most of the trip - too much sitting in the car perhaps?

skyscrapersinging · 25/08/2025 13:08

@WoolerOwl amazing work! Well done and congrats, you must be thrilled.

sc0ttishlass · 25/08/2025 14:12

@WoolerOwl huge congrats! although Mounjaro helped still a lot of work from you!

WoolerOwl · 25/08/2025 14:26

Thanks everyone! It helps to have such a supportive bunch of Mumsnetters here.

One more NSV to add to the list - gone down half a shoe size at M&S. Just bought some lovely suede loafers.

WoolerOwl · 25/08/2025 14:28

@MrsHero sitting in a car, or worse still, an aeroplane, definitely has that effect on me. But sorry to read you’ve got the opposite problem now!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 25/08/2025 17:08

NSV I'm really grateful for. I can now walk down aisles on trains and not keep hitting into people. I used to be so self conscious and acutely aware I was wider than the gap between the seats.

Mounjaroday · 25/08/2025 17:29

Totally get you @Nomoretopswithblacktrousers! Felt the same on the plane coming back from hols! (Also sitting in plane seat so much more comfortable).

Parked in John Lewis today where the spaces are a bit narrow so you can’t open the car door very far. Managed to shimmy out really easily, and walk between cars and wing mirrors no problem at all!

Hope you’re on the mend soon @MrsHero 💐

Morning all! Congrats on all the scale and non scale victories!

Jab day for me, I put it off over the bank holiday as was away at a UK seaside resort where there was basically nothing to eat besides fish and chips, ice cream and donuts. Back on it this week!

Very stupidly went to use the golden dose of my last pen this morning and realised I’d accidentally bought syringes rather than needles. So have had to just let that golden dose go, feeling very silly!

I’m now onto one of my new 12.5mg pens, and I’m trying an 8mg dose. Not sure if this is old news but I found this site for counting clicks, I personally find it much easier than the charts to figure out exactly what my options are for each pen. Thought I’d share if useful- https://www.vrgrowth.co.uk/mounjaro-clicks

usedtobeaylis · 26/08/2025 09:34

@sweetpickle2 I'm on an 8mg dose as well and I have been burping like crazy every morning so good luck 😅

Mounjaroday · 26/08/2025 10:22

Weigh in day for me.

Started last week at post-holiday weight of 77kg. Plenty of water over last few days (and not scoffing loads of salty chips in the sun, washed down by cold beer) and I’m happily down to 72.9kg. So I’ve lost the 4kg I had gained on holiday almost exactly. Very relieved!

700g away from healthy BMI. I know it’s just a number but the green zone would be a thrill.

Ooh. Before I forget. I now ‘get’ TK Maxx. That shop is an absolute delight now that I am slim
enough to shop there. I’m now obsessed! 😂

MynameisJune · 26/08/2025 10:24

Felt quite hungry last night and this morning. That would be because I should have jabbed yesterday but was out for the day and totally forgot what day of the week it was!

sweetpickle2 · 26/08/2025 10:32

Same with me and charity shops @Mounjaroday! I've always loved them for home bits but never understood how people could find nice clothes in there. Now I realise... it's because there are lots more clothes available in there at a size 12/14 than in a size 18/20!

SkintSingleMumm · 26/08/2025 11:49

Pleased to report ive now lost 2.5 stone. Im a slow loser!

ive decided that im going to do my last two jabs and come off and try to go forward with my own calorie counting/exercising. I just cant afford the jabs going forward. They have done much more for me than just weightloss. Ive learnt that actually my weightloss goes up 3lbs, then down 5lbs, then plateaus for a week and eventually woosh and its down again. I do feel that ill be a lot more patient with weightloss going forwards now i understand how it goes for my body 🤞

Got the new prices through from Farmeci, who I’ve used all the way through because they always price matched. Since the price hikes they are no longer price matching or offering any deals - I’m wondering is this the same across all suppliers, what has other people’s experiences been?
