Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

Think I've shared mounjaro made my adhd worse in many ways. The only thing it oddly stopped was dropping things. So strange but true.

An interesting one for the 'eat less, move more' crowd - Serena is an elite athlete and even she struggled to shift weight children despite training five hours a day. Do we think she was eating more than she could burn on five hours?

This bit though:
But Caleb also says the revelation about her need to resort to using GLP-1 medication is slightly "terrifying" and makes them feel "a little bit sad". They worry that all it does is belittle hard work and dedication, instead, focussing on appearance and the pressure to look a certain way.

Actually all this comment about 'resorting to' medication does is belittle Serena's actual hard work and dedication. Absolutely no acknowledgement that this an athlete we're talking about, not a random Instagram account.

Serena Williams is an elite athlete with access to personal chefs, the best dietitians and food money can buy. It’s not sad if she can’t lose the weight training 5hrs a day! We’ve seen the shape she was in pre-kids. It should speak to the fact that having kids and hormones have a huge effect on women losing weight. And the sooner that is acknowledged the better for society.

What a load of BS that person is spouting ‘sad’ 🤬

Unfortunately it seems it hasn't attacked the stigma at all, most people seem to think rather than a woman in her 40s struggling to lose weight like many other women in their 40s, she was just doing everything wrong and clearly eating too much. Mental.

I also read the Daily Mail’s article on this The comments section is - as ever - pretty predictable. Here’s the link if you care to read hundreds of very misogynistic and ridiculous posts 💤

Haha imagine if Serena was lurking on this group? Hi Serena! 👋🏻 And Oprah, too. I’m sure you’ve joined this safe space by now. Hope you’re both having good weeks 😂

Onwards, Warriors! We’re on a brilliant path and everyone else can rack off 💪🏻

Serena Williams flaunts her slimmed-down figure for skinny jab ad

The tennis ace, 43, showcased her trim figure in the ad as she modelled a white vest and shorts, showcasing her slim waist and toned legs.

P.S. Apologies for sharing a DM article on here. I know that is very much frowned upon. Forgive me!!

I just wish we’d seen some photos of her post kids, pre jab where she was apparently obese. Because when I think of Serena Williams, I think of fit, insanely strong, solid muscle. The thought of her having enough fat on her to have to use WLI is wild to me.

I'm finding the losses on a 10Mg pen disappointing in 3 weeks i've only dropped 0.9 KG I have a second 10mg pen arrive yesterday so will continue on that for the next month, with the cost increases I may look to reduce down over the next few months to 2.5 and then drop off completely. I can afford to continue on but if not seeing results, will stop

As far as results so far

SW 95.9 BMI 37.2

CW 78.5 BMI 30.3

Loss 17.4KG (38Lbs) 18%

I would like to get to 72 KG which would give a BMI of 27 at which point I'll be the same weight as 30 years ago!

keep pushing everyone

Zibb · 24/08/2025 09:03

I went out for a meal at a Chinese restaurant last night. I decided I was just gonna let myself relax so I tried a bit of everything that was ordered and it was great. I really enjoyed myself. Way over my calories but it was a one-off celebration meal.

This morning's weigh in I am up by 5kg. 5!! Nothing wrong with the scales, husband's weight is the same as always.
How is this possible? Just water retention and too much salt? I was expecting maybe 1kg but not 5kg.

SpiralSister · 24/08/2025 09:38

5kgs?? That’s 11 pounds! (Old lady here). Impossible actual fat gain, surely. Are you super dehydrated or something?

I’m sure that will come off, @Zibb - it must.

It's crazy isn't it!

I know it won't be fat so it must just be a combination of too much salt last night, water retention, dehydration?!

I didn't drink any alcohol, was just drinking water all night, but maybe not enough.

So gonna go for a long walk and drink loads of water today.

Let's hope tomorrow's weigh in is back to normal!

it simply has to be water / salt @Zibb. The gods are most definitely playing a trick on you.

This is the type of thing my body does to me @Zibb it’s got to be salt/water retention there’s no way you’ve put on 11lbs overnight or even in a few days!!!

Zibb · 24/08/2025 10:47

It's very annoying! I hope it doesn't take ages to come off.

usedtobeaylis · 24/08/2025 11:00

W27 Day 1 - week 4 on 8mg
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 13st 1lb
Loss this week: 0
Total loss: 3st 4lb

A bit disappointed as this is my third week at this weight and I've only lost 2lbs total in the last month. I'm sure this is linked to my very late period, which still hasn't arrived.

However over the last couple of days I did have a 13st reading and last night a 12st 13lb reading so at least I'm fluctuating downwards and not up right now. I was tempted to record one of those as my weight because that's the first time I'm seen a number starting with 12 since I can't even remember when - but I'm staying honest 😇

usedtobeaylis · 24/08/2025 11:02

@Zibb it sounds like just one of fluctuations where there's a perfect storm and it normalises really quickly. There's no way that's a true gain! I don't think I would ever weigh myself the day after a Chinese 😅

Mounjaroday · 24/08/2025 11:29

More importantly @Zibb what was on the menu? 😆 Haven’t a good Chinese for aaaaages! 😋

Sooo much food. We went to the Ivy Lounge in Birmingham.

Weirdest thing I tried was jellyfish and pig intestine. Best thing was the scallops with garlic, spicy belly pork, and the slow cooked beef.

Could probably eat it all again today!

Yeah, I think the combo of salty food, large amount of food, period etc.

I'm not too worried now. I was just really shocked!

MynameisJune · 24/08/2025 14:40

You’re much braver than me Zibb, jellyfish and pig intestines would not have passed my lips! I am so ridiculously fussy though 🙈

Went to M&S today, decided to try some new jeans on as my 12’s are starting to fall down. Got a couple of 10’s, went to the changing room thinking no way they’ll fit they looked tiny on the hanger. Reader they only bloody fit. I know they’re generous with their cut but still astounded. The last time I was a 10 I was 16 and had just broken up with my first real boyfriend and heartbreak had made me lose weight.

Zibb · 24/08/2025 15:58

That's amazing @MynameisJune! Go you!

skyscrapersinging · 24/08/2025 16:03

@MynameisJune keep doing the same thing- hold up trousers and think they’re tiny. Then they fit. My body image is 6 months behind my weight loss. I bought some M and S super skinny jeans on Vinted (I’m Gen X, they can peel the skinnies from my stiff corpse, I don’t care what the fashion police say!) When I unpacked them I thought they were a terrible mistake and would only fit one leg. They bloody well do fit. I’m sure I have size dysmorphia.

WoolerOwl · 24/08/2025 16:38

I did the same with some size 12 cords in H&M last week. They looked ridiculously small. I tried them on and they definitely fit. They weren't at all nice, so I went and got some from M&S instead (also size 12 long, also fit). But the point was they both looked tiny and THEY BOTH FIT!

WoolerOwl · 24/08/2025 16:40

Jab 26 today. First dose of 10mg. Monthly weigh in due tomorrow. Will post stats then, whatever they are like after August's strange combination of holiday food and starting to exercise.
