I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

Well, the good news is I finally got a decent night's sleep, and enjoyed my swim for the first time since starting mj - fatigue has completely gone! The bad news is so has the suppression! I ate everything yesterday. ☹️
Time to increase my dosage!

VashtaNerada · 28/07/2025 13:36

Finding it so hard to get the dose right! I had very strong SE when I first started 2.5 so I stayed on that for 8 weeks, but towards the end there was zero suppression and I was going back to my old habits. Tried 3.75 last week and I’m gutted that I only really had suppression on day one and now I’m back to being hungry again. Will try 5 this week and hope for the best.

I was lucky with only mild SE, took 2.5 for 4 weeks with positive effects greatly reduced towards the end, had already decided & ordered 5mg as next pen but did ok on 3.75 for transition week. 5mg for the next 2 weeks really hit me with fatigue & nausea though, but eased off ok after that.
So hard in these still early weeks to know what to do for the best, you decide to stick or increase & place your next order, then your body starts processing it differently! Anyone who has a reasonable amount to lose, I think it will take at least 4 months for many to get a point where you can be stable with SE but losing ok.

dc82 · 27/07/2025 21:00

Super well done @Sallycinnamum! 🥳 Really pleased for you! Sorry the SE is wiping you out though. Do you think you’ll stay on the 3 or slowly drop down to lower amounts?

Welcome back @AccidentalPrawnYouFool - glad you had a great time!

Tbh, I think I'll stay on 3mg until I use up my last pen. The nausea i can cope with but the exhaustion is too much. Even today I'm wiped out!

My 79 yr old dad has been advised to try MJ by his GP as he needs to lose approx 4 stone.

It came a bit out of the blue when he told me yesterday and I then admitted I was on it too (I hadn't told my parents how I had lost weight!) He is super excited and is paying privately as we all are but for health reasons he needs to shed some pounds, bless him!

Ahh sorry to hear that. It makes you worry, doesn't it, how we're ever going to cope when we come off it.

It takes a month to get out of your system, I believe, so I guess we just have to brace ourselves and up the exercise/willpower for that month?

tostaky · 28/07/2025 19:39

@Gingercarwhat about after that first initial month then when theres no more MJ in our systems? I struggle to think how i will maintain… im still on 2.5mg but i do need to conscious of my intake some days when i feel mildly hungry. I really do think i am going to be on it for the long haul… i dont think i’ll gain all the weight back quickly though but eventually i will…

NSV: i wore my white trousers today! Can’t remember when was the last time i wore them.. probably pre-covid!

not NSV: my weight hasnt bulged this week… this morning i weighted at 86.8 kg but tonight i was back at 88kg. Stupidily i made my official weighting time in the evening! It would have made more sense to do it in the morning… but i dont want to change it now as it would introduce an anomaly on my charts! (I know, petty!)

Feeling a bit meh as ive told my office that i will be leaving soon and i organised for my leaving drinks to be wed evening… but i found out last friday that i have to stay at work until mid October! 😳 im still going to have drinks on wed and well its going to be awkward! Nevermind….

Gingercar · 28/07/2025 23:07

I’m hoping I can fight it. When I’m nearer goal I hope I’ll be doing a lot more exercise too. I don’t have full suppression anyway, so do get some hunger regularly. I hope that’s a good thing.

PandaIsMySpiritAnimal · 29/07/2025 06:37

Hi All, i just caught up on all the messages for the last 3 weeks as I just returned back to the UK.

Whilst I would typically gain at least 10 lbs during my holiday (i travel back to see my family in Europe for 3 weeks every summer), I have just stepped on the scales and it's a 1 lb loss since my last weigh in.

I was definitely eating more (and drinking), no counting calories, just stopping when I feel full and I am so so happy to not come back with a gain.

It does however feel that I'm now 3 weeks behind compare to others as whilst I didn't gain I didn't actively loose either. So the journey starts again today 🎉

Gingercar · 29/07/2025 08:06

Just a 1lb loss for me this week, taking me to 1stone 12 lbs down in ten weeks. Getting very close to two stones off.
And my mum is safely in with us!!

dc82 · 29/07/2025 08:30

Welcome back @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal 🥳. Hope you had a lovely time and to still manage a loss after 3 weeks is fab!

@Gingercar well done on loss and great news on your Mum!

BerfyTigot · 29/07/2025 08:38

Well done @Gingercar and @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal It's still 1lb in the right direction.

Today is my official weigh in at the end of week 11, I'm down another kg to 11kg loss. I can't quite believe it.

Feeling a bit nauseous this morning though 😕

Apprenante · 29/07/2025 08:43

That's great @Gingercar! Shes a lucky mum to have you.

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal That really is a good result!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 29/07/2025 09:33

Ah that's great @Gingercar. I'm not sure I could do that, my mum and I have a tricky relationship. She doesn't like me very much, never has. She'd be spitting feathers to be reliant upon me in any way.
Obviously I'm not the only one out there with a weird relationship with parents!

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal nice to have you back and you're a wizard not putting any weight on.

Day 2 of my new job and also day 2 of a brutal period. Glad I work remotely and can deal with it with the privacy of my own bathroom. Need to find my Bright and Engaging personality for a bunch of introductory calls today, am currently hunched forward holding my stomach and feeling like shit.

Make up will help. And painkillers.

A mug of vodka would get you through - just joking, really don't!

Well done you!

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 29/07/2025 09:57

I’m now at 2 stone loss. 40% of the way to target. My next mini goal is 50% which coincides with the next 1/2stone. It’s nice having lots of mini goals to tick off. 1/2 stone is roughly a month for me but I expect it will start slowing down soon as my BMR drops.

Gingercar · 29/07/2025 10:59

We’re well on our way!

@DidILeaveTheGasOn yes i not easy, mum and I have an up and down relationship. I was closer to my dad. But she’s bed bound and very docile nowadays, plus we’ve created a “wing” for her downstairs so she is separate to us. And I’ve been running up and down to her house twice a day for three years doing all her meals, so it’s much easier now. I already feel a lot less stressed. We are quite rural and get bad weather sometimes in winter, so it’s nice to think I don’t have to trek out in snow and ice.

FlorenceNightshade · 29/07/2025 12:00

Weekly check in for me. 11 weeks in, 5 at 2.5mg and 6 at 5mg.

SW 92.9kg BMI 30
CW 76.1kg BMI 24.6

Loss this week of 1.8kg.

Total loss 16.8kg/37lbs or 18% body weight.

I dont have a target, according to the NHS BMI checker the ideal weight for my height is between 57.4kg and 77.4kg which seems like a huge variation to me. I’m thinking I’ll aim for the middle of that.

I’m still wearing the same clothes although they are looser, hips are stubbornly hanging on so not dropped a jeans size yet! I’m planning to go shopping soon to check that again.

I really struggled with some side effects for the first time last week. Felt totally exhausted and had upset tummy for a few days. This week I’ve gone for 3.75mg in the hope that helps, if not I’ll be back down to 2.5mg next week! Can cope with gastro stuff but not the tiredness. Have felt more like my normal self the last few days and want that to continue!

Well done everyone on another week of prioritising our health - we are all smashing it in our own way, dealing with life as well is not easy!

Onwards and downwards ✌️

Yes @lifetheuniverseandeverything42!! Mini goals are definitely the way to do it! Makes it seem more achievable and gives you lots to celebrate on the way!

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal a loss after three weeks away from home is amazing well done you!! I can imagine that’s a real boost to your confidence.

@Gingercar I'm glad home life is sounding more settled for you now. Your Mum is lucky to have you.

I really love reading everyone’s updates so inspiring!

Wee nsv for me today, found my engagement ring in the cupboard (not worn it for years as too tight) and it fits perfectly😀

FlorenceNightshade · 29/07/2025 12:25

Aww @chergar that is the best NSV I’ve heard! Congratulations I hope it makes you smile every-time you look down and see it!

Gingercar · 29/07/2025 12:40

@FlorenceNightshade wow that’s a fantastic amount! How lovely to be so near goal.

@chergar, I can empathise with that. My wedding ring has refused to come off my fat finger for the past five years. I think it will do soon!

ps, it’s my husband that deserves the praise. Not many men would work their butt off so that their mother in law can move in!

PandaIsMySpiritAnimal · 29/07/2025 12:59

@BerfyTigot @lifetheuniverseandeverything42 @FlorenceNightshade @Gingercar Great losses all of you, it's so nice to see so many of our May's cohort making this amazing progress 😍

I bought new Renpho scales this week and I'm so excited for them to arrive so I can get some more body stats. Love me numbers 😅

I also went on a bit of a recruitment drive when I was back home, with my parents and my sister...the weight problems run in our family so when I told them about the injections they were all amazed as to how they work (they haven't heard of it before really).

In my happy mood I told them I'll fund it for all 3 of them if their doctors prescribe it for them. So I now got a lodger for my spare room to fund the injections for all 3. But seeing them all excited and having hope that after years of struggling with obesity there is hope for them makes it all worth it.

We took a family photo where you can see all 4 us in the full size so hopefully when we take one next summer we will all be half the weight we were this year 😅

Back from my holidays today. Back on the chicken and salad. Also managed to extract the golden dose tonight, and it was successful! Dreading weighing tomorrow. I’ve been a bit naughty - carbs, a couple of ice creams and this morning had a croissant at the airport. Had a fab time though 🥰 hope everyone is doing ok! Congrats on the losses!

I weighed on Monday morning and was 5lbs heavier than when I went. However I weighed again today and it’s gone again so must have been water weight! Back at what I was before I went so taking into consideration the sangria, I am more than happy with a maintain this week!
great news on the engagement ring what a lovely NSV! I have the opposite problem, my rings are now too big and I think I need to get them adjusted 😣
