I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

Sorry have asked to get thread title changed to 2025 🙈

Thanks for new thread and major well done @FlorenceNightshade for reaching ‘Healthy BMI’ land!! That’s an amazing achievement. 🥳 Have you a set goal in mind next?

FlorenceNightshade · 25/07/2025 12:34

Thank you @dc82 i had 75kg in mind for no real reason but I think realistically I’ll go by how I feel! I’m still in my usual clothes although they are definitely looser.

I did pop to Next a few weeks ago to try on jeans and a size 12 wasn’t comfortable in every style yet so will revisit that again soon. I’ve been a 14/16 for over 20 years so the thought of wearing smaller sizes is kinda exciting!

I’d also love a smaller work uniform (NHS Scotland tunics - one size fits no one!) but would need to be really confident in maintaining as ordering is a faff and you can’t do it yourself at my work!

I seem to have lost weight from everywhere apart from my hips and stomach so would like to even out a bit. BMIs are mental though because a “healthy” score for my height is anywhere between 57.4kg and 77.4kg which seems like a huge difference! Maybe I’ll aim for the middle 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for starting the new thread. 10 weeks today since I started and have lost 6.7kg.
SW 82
CW 75.3
GW 62
Yesterday my scales showed 75k but I went out for a meal last night with friends, and had a Mexican chicken and rice dish. I do find that the day after I eat rice I am a little bloated so really want to count my loss as 7k! That is only showing a loss of 0.7kg a week though.
I have to see my pharmacist today though as he will be away when I need my next pen. He wants me to go to 10mg. I haven’t had many side effects on 7.5, certainly less than on 5, so he thinks 10 might be my best dose.
What do you all think, I do tend to listen to him and really don’t question it.
A definite win is that last time he saw me he challenged my with not filling in MFP everyday and not counting calories. I have done this and it has been wonderful, and to be honest I am still losing at the same rate as before.
As always I listen to all your wonderful advice, even though I don’t post all the time I read the posts every day.
For those that have had challenging times recently I wish you all a better week x

MyScaredCat · 25/07/2025 14:44

Hi all
marking my spot on the new thread
still dodgy internet on holiday but I’m home tomorrow and normality will resume. I will take my next 5mg jab on Monday. I think I’ll give myself the Sunday to recover worst. Tomorrow is 12 hours of travelling

im gutted our holiday is over as it has been just wonderful. But i am looking back to eating properly again. Seeing the scales go down is a bit addictive (not in a worrying way; I’m not exactly skinny!)

As far as I understand it, the only reason to raise the dose is if you don’t have sufficient suppression of hunger/ food noise on the lower one - if you have been successfully eating at the number of calories that fits with your projected weight loss without it being too much of a struggle then I wouldn’t go up. That way you save it for when the existing dose no longer works.

Shwingbada · 25/07/2025 15:19

Thanks for the new thread. Really appreciate reading about all your experiences. I’m still on 2.5 but from a 5mg pen, and I am definitely feeling hungrier. But it’s partly not keeping up with meal planning and the shopping that it requires. I am also feeling completely exhausted, which is annoying me as I’m not getting on with all the many jobs I had saved for the holidays (I am a teacher). Without the structure of term time I really struggle.

Gingercar · 25/07/2025 16:05

Thanks for the new thread.

Im very much of the opinion of putting the lowest dose possible into your body. If it’s working, why increase?

How does he know whether you’ve filled MFP in or not? He sounds a bit bossy for me.

SaintAgatha · 25/07/2025 16:07

Thank you so much for the new thread. I dip in and out intermittently but it’s nice to know everyone is still here (and still venturing downwards). I was feeling pretty good about myself today: have had a 2 stone loss, but I went to an event with the kids and someone snapped a pic of me. I looked awful, fat ankles and huge tummy. Feeling a bit despondent, but even more determined to keep at it.

Apprenante · 25/07/2025 16:54

Just did my 14th jab, 3.75 from a 5 syringe. It was the fifth from the same pen. I intend to carry on for next week and probably the week after with this pen which will be way over the 30 days. I reckon that as it's been in the fridge all the time it will last well enough ..... If I start growing horns or something I'll make sure to tell you.

My current weight loss is 27lb. Yesterday it was 28lb so I'm a bit irritated. I wanted the magic 2 stone off. Oh well. It's just a number.

@SaintAgatha I have awful awful photos taken on Thursday but I'm ignoring them.

FlorenceNightshade · 25/07/2025 16:56

Aww @SaintAgatha i feel your pain! Nothing worse than a candid pic undoing all the positivity and making you feel like crap! I’m sure it’s not that bad but what I would do is save the photo and compare yourself to it in 6 weeks. I bet there’s a huge difference on the inside and outside of the woman looking back at you by then!

Thank you for the new thread. I accidentally posted on the other one under a different username, then couldn't change back to post as my usual self! The perils of subterfuge and deceit. I have been fit to burst for ages wanting to post.

Amazing progress, all. Sorry to hear about various SE, poorly parents and other misfortunes. Glad to hear the move went well for our prospective salmon refuge manager (although I'd be considering mincing up the unhelpful DH as fishfood).

I am 34 lbs down (although weigh in is tomorrow, so may have lost more) and spending too much time admiring my new jaw line, whilst slathering unguents onto my wrinkly neck. Have bought new clothes in a smaller size (still huge by most standards) and waste loads of time every few days trying on my entire wardrobe to see if anything suddenly fits after not being worn for 12 years or so. Exciting times.

FlorenceNightshade · 25/07/2025 17:37

@DBatteryBand what would you recommend for necks? I found some collagen cream moisturiser stuff I’d been given because I liked the smell so have been using that when I remember. I also have lightweight gel things that have a collagen variety so use that too. I’m not one for makeup so I have to really concentrate on skin care!

Hello thread, name change on a theme for me again.

Hope posters suffering from side effects are feeling more comfortable this evening.

Week whatever and another 1lb off. Was looking like it might be 2 midweek but I’ll accept 1.

tostaky · 25/07/2025 18:12

Thanks for starting a new thread @FlorenceNightshade

Sorry to hear about ageing parents and SE

ive just ordered my 3rd pen, still 2.5mg and ive used the monj.co.uk wensite. Cant believe i paid “only” £97 instead of £160 with shemed before!!!
i thought hard about it and i feel like summer time is always an easier time for me to be active and eat healthy. If i order a 5mg pen, the temptation to up my dose will be there even though i have good enough suppression still. I’ll see what happens in September

im 10kg down, no-one has said anything yet. DP said my cheeks are dropping and make me look older (thank you DP!!) so i am panicking abit now because i want/need to lose another 20kg to be in the healthy range… anybody has a miracle face cream to help with this? i am taking half a dose of collagen every day (to no effect apparently!)
also i’ll be starting at a new place of work early october… quite excited! My commute will reduce by 10 minutes too which is always good.

SutekhsEars · 25/07/2025 18:14

I think I'm going to try taking 2.5mg once a week, like the prescription says! I think I should be used to it enough now that it shouldn't be a problem. I'm getting a bit bored now - I think I'm looking forward to stopping.
I'm continuing on with Slimpod for now, in an attempt not to put it all back on straight away. I still think it's a bit cult-ish though!

SutekhsEars · 25/07/2025 18:15

Does anyone have any suggestions to slim down a fat neck? My cheekbones reappeared a couple of weeks in, but I still have rolls of fat round my neck. ☹️

MonjourMadame · 25/07/2025 18:16

I think a gua sha helps with your face, but you have to keep it up. I also use a micro needler, but not sure what difference it makes.

TreesOfGreen99 · 25/07/2025 18:26

Hi, place-marking on the new thread.
2 months in (to the day) and 8 kg down. I’m feeling rather pleased, and although part of me would love to have the big losses I’m reading about on here, for me, I think a steady loss of 1-2lbs pw is more likely to stay off.
Had my first episode of SE earlier in the week, not nice!!! But all settled down again now. I think I will reduce my next jab from the current 4 to 3.75. I seem to be very sensitive to increases in the dose.
Hope everyone has a sunny weekend, and sending virtual hugs to those going through a hard time right now x

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 25/07/2025 18:55

This is one thing I've noticed across multiple MJ threads - some pharmacists seem to control the dosage and those in receipt accept it gratefully (very NHS model, very demure, v mindful) whilst other pharmacies don't comment at all and the patient makes the call based on their fiendishly detailed knowledge of how their dose affects their body and what they've picked up on the journey so far.
In both scenarios, we pay a lot of money, but in one, we get a choice.
I think if my pharmacy tried to tell me to move up a dose and take £120-160 off me, I'd tell them to piss off.

I am very, very stressed today so take the above ranting with a pinch of salt. I want to go and shake my fist and shout at things today. I am maxed out. If anyone says Mum at me one more time, I'm nuking this salmon situation from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

HereIGoOnceMore · 25/07/2025 19:07

Thank you for the new thread and well done on your BMI - amazing news. Commiserations and hugs to those struggling for whatever reason just now.

I have finally hit the 1 stone milestone after 8 weeks of modest losses so I’m starting the weekend happy. Surprisingly, this has come at the end of a week where I have been less strict too.

So - random question. Has anyone else noticed their iPhone step count has increased without doing anything different? My pottering around the house before I walk the dogs is hitting 3-4000 steps when the same activities used to be around 2,500. Can’t work it out at all. Do your pockets become bouncier when you lose weight ?

ElsieJay · 25/07/2025 19:11

Checking in on the new thread , and sending a gentle hug and a large glass of something nice to you , @DidILeaveTheGasOn .
Though maybe noise-cancelling headphones would be better ?

Seahorsesplendour · 25/07/2025 19:20

Hi all !! Another 1lb off (I did a sneak peak as normally weigh fortnightly but couldn’t resist this morning!! Have hit the 2 and a half stone mark so about a third of the way to target (ish) which feels good!!

those of you with photo disappointment I feel your pain!! I feel so much better & smaller that I get shocked when I look at myself!! It’s v annoying but our bodies will catch up with how we feel eventually!!

this photo (once it’s approved) was on one of the other MJ threads today & resonated so thought would reshare

FlorenceNightshade · 25/07/2025 19:20

@HereIGoOnceMore I've just spent far too much some time comparing my FitBit data with my IPhone Health App data and I’m not seeing a huge difference in steps recorded. Are you maybe carrying your phone more often? Love the idea of bouncier pockets 😆
