DS has passed everything! No resits needed and a straightforward path to his sports scholarship and course. So proud of him, xxx

BreezyPeer · 21/08/2025 11:18

@meatyryvita my twin! I need to actually lose some weight this week. Feel like I've had a mini plateau but it's because of the sickness bug ( and I do seem to plateau when I reach a goal!) I looked in the mirror today wearing some new (vinted) clothes and thought, 'this might be it, this might be my happy weight' I do want to lose a little more as a buffer if nothing else but I am happy! These new clothes, in my new winter season colours look great - I've got a waist! How much more do you want to lose? Xx

meatyryvita · 21/08/2025 11:33

@BreezyPeer congratulations to your son! I'm sure you're all breathing a sigh of relief!

I hope you're feeling better btw.

I'm 5'6 and so I'm not at a healthy BMI yet - I think I need to hit 11st 5lbs for that. I've put 9st 10lbs as my goal but I am wondering if that will be too slim. I'm going to see how I look and feel at about 10st 7lbs and then decide.

You must feel so awesome to be at a healthy BMI. It is odd seeing our smaller selves in the mirror, isn't it? I am wearing some very old (from 2010 IIRC) LK Bennet skinny jeans (back when I had money for such frivolities!) and they are a loose fit due to my complete lack of rear.

Getting colours done is nice too, isn't it? I got mine done in March IIRC and am, unsurprising given my red hair and freckles, a true autumn!

Well done on the gcse results so far! Congratulations to them - their first qualifications!

My pens are here, unpacked and straight into the fridge!!!! One of the reasons I switched to Oushk is that they were the nearest and i thought it might help with the cold chain in warm weather. I’m still really vexed with them though. I don’t read the circle/facebook comments so don’t see the brown nosers. I’d be fuming if I did! I’ve just lashed out the best part of £450 which I can’t really afford because they said we could and now feel guilty that others may not get the pens they need. Poor form!

I usually have a bag of ‘stuff’ that I grab to load into the caravan but I just realised I’ve raided it for other holidays and now need to find all the stuff. I also need to plan and purchase food for the weekend as it’s always tricky getting out and back to the camping area at shows. At least all my power banks are full as we will definitely need them.

BreezyPeer · 21/08/2025 12:03

@meatyryvita
I am a jewelled sultry winter. Which is a bit of a surprise to me! I went shopping yesterday with my colour fan. I was starting to get the hang of which are 'my colours' but there weren't so many of them around. I thought all the berry colours would suit but a lot of them are a warm brown rather than a cool red so I learnt something!! I want to buy some jewel colours ( t shirts) just to give some colour and try it out without being too spendy.
I'm 5ft9 so just into a healthy BMI right now X

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 21/08/2025 12:17

@BreezyPeer congratulations! You can tell your son a bunch of formerly fat women neiter he or his mum have never met are all very proud of him 😂

I'm jealous of your season, I love jewel colours but being pale blonde summer, they totally drain me.

BreezyPeer · 21/08/2025 12:34

@HeidiNotSoHeavy thank you! You bunch of formally fat women have got me through a lot this year 🤣

myladyjane · 21/08/2025 13:22

Well done mini @BreezyPeer. Sterling effor

I am thinking of getting my colours re done as there is a suspicion that as I’ve aged I am no longer a spring. Certainly I seem to suit the bright spring ‘pop’ colours much less than I used to. I have always had neutral skin and neutral hair and eyes (light brown/grey) so it was my contrast that was the defining factor. That contrast is reduced I think so I wonder if I’m moving to a soft summer. Certainly I seem to look more me in a slightly cooler berry lip than my previous hot pink/coral ones.

Thelittlestranger · 21/08/2025 13:56

Congratulations on the GCSE results - always just need enough to get to the next stage is my motto.

Oushk have posted a statement stating that they have always had a 3 pen order limit, and reduced to 2 once they realised people were bulk buying. It's long winded and defensive. But does give some context to the situation.

@discov I have also forgotten to jab. It happens every week now. Should have done it on Tuesday, then meant to do it yesterday, and now I'm at work and don't really like doing it at night - so it will be tomorrow. I'm not too worried about it - extending the time between the jabs is working for me at the moment.

Thelittlestranger · 21/08/2025 13:59

And to add. The nurse I saw yesterday was so focused on the fact I was on mounjaro and she wanted to blame it for everything. Constipation, belly lump (injection site?) she even pointed out the stretch marks on my belly from my 3 pregnancies saying that I had got it from losing weight. Oh, and assumed I had gone all the way to 15mg - looking confused when I hadnt. There is a real lack of education and understanding This was after she said to me 'why are you on it? You are slim!' I'm mean, honestly.

In the end I had to say to her that I'd been on it for 8 months - everything I was feeling was very new, and could she look outside of that to consider what else my symptoms could possibly be pointing to...

DGonMJ · 21/08/2025 14:36

Reminds me of the old Head & Shoulder ad “but you don’t have dandruff?”

So much misinformation, especially amongst medical professionals who should know better. But it guess if the NHS hasn’t provided training and they’ve not read up on it, then this is what happens.

Read the weird Oushk message explaining their 3 pen policy. Agree with whoever said they need a PR crisis manager. When your customers have heightened emotion you need to respond with just the facts to reassure and enable them to make a decision.

Congrats to those getting their results today. DS passed 1 out of 2. He’s a bit upset about it, as he absolutely has the knowledge it’s an exam technique issue.

BreezyPeer · 21/08/2025 14:37

@myladyjane I am obsessed with 'my colours' right now. I think a re assessment is cheaper than the first colour analysis which would be great because it was pretty speedy!
I am thinking about having a style analysis but that would be a next year birthday treat and maybe a make up session as well. I have bought some of the house of colour make up and I have new brushes on order but I might need some extra help 😅
Main thing for me is keep the weight off and enjoy being slim 😀 xx

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 21/08/2025 15:24

This was after she said to me 'why are you on it? You are slim!'

well duh, would we pay that money month after month if it didn't work?

MJalltheway · 21/08/2025 15:57

Congratulations @BreezyPeer 's DS and commiserations to @DGonMJ 's DS.
Will he have to resit @DGonMJ ?

ChatGPT tells me I'm Soft summer (I'm definitely not) AND that my nose is red and the colour of my top today is overpowering me!
Moving on from rude scales to rude AI!!
I'm dark hair, dark eyes, olive skin tone. I've always preferred bright jewel colours, but they are quite hard to find.

Cannot believe the nurses comments @Thelittlestranger ! 🤦🏻‍♀️

party set up is underway, it's not in our house thank god, it's in one of our neighbours fields. Close enough to nip over but far enough to slightly muffle the banging music later on.

@jins you have to let us know another clue to your 80s celeb pals! There were so many one hit wonders in the 80s 😁

Jins · 21/08/2025 16:15

aargh. Clues are not my strong point so I’ll go for an easy to google one.

They supported the Damned on the 2024 UK tour

Zempy · 21/08/2025 16:34

If it’s who I think it is @Jins,I want their biggest hit played at my funeral!

Jins · 21/08/2025 16:38

@zempy it is who you think it is and it’s likely to be played at ours

MJalltheway · 21/08/2025 18:36

Fab @jins!

DGonMJ · 21/08/2025 18:56

@MJalltheway i hope he will re-sit, and that he hasn’t been completely put off by the experience. It took a lot of resilience for him to sit them in the first place. I’m super proud that he’s come this far.

I’ve eaten too much cake at the afternoon tea we just had! Will be so surprised if I haven’t put on weight after this holiday. Worth it though. Making lovely memories with the DC.

2025istheyeari · 21/08/2025 19:14

Hi losers!!

What a rollercoaster of a day!! GCSE results here too and ds has the grades he needs to stay on at 6th form 🎉a v random low result for one but not doing that at a level so all good. Issue now is which A levels he wants to do, he’s changed his mind a lot! Bless him, been to London today and out for dinner tonight. Congrats to all the other dc with GCSE results, I agree they’re a stepping stone so hopefully they’ll all be able to go on to do what they want to.

Congrats on the weight losses everyone too!
I’ve not heard from Oushk other than confirming my 2 x 5mg the other day. I changed delivery from next week to Sept so will be livid if this means I don’t get them 😳

will catch up properly tomorrow on everyone’s news!

CurlsandCurves · 21/08/2025 21:24

DS passed all his GCSEs too, fantastic grades and all signed up for sixth form.

@2025istheyeari my son also got a random low result for one, he was planning on doing design tech at A level, but got a 3! He thought maybe his coursework wasn’t great as he did absolutely fine on tests, and has always had positive reports. But then he’s since said that they had a change of teacher and basically were taught nothing from that point. He’s going to speak to the others in his class and see how they got on.

Aimingdown · 22/08/2025 00:54

@jins ohhhh, that was a big hit!

BreezyPeer · 22/08/2025 05:40

Morning losers! Xxx

PenelopePerseveres · 22/08/2025 07:42

Morning everyone, congratulations on exam results and being able to stay on and commiserations to @DGonMJ 's DS, not getting over the hurdle is hard at any age but especially when you're at his stage. I hope he's ok.

God, I am super constipated, really getting fed up with it and the awful aftertaste of movicol. Not sure what to try next to be honest, my stomach feels so bloated.

Oushk have dispatched my pen so I think that might be it for me, if I keep losing, let's see.

Jins · 22/08/2025 07:53

Morning losers!

Bit of a late night for a school day chez Jins but there’s a trip to be done so I’ll be up and about finishing packing. Will have to fit a maintenance weigh in amongst it all as it’s that time of the week. I didn’t jab yesterday and may push it back until tomorrow which would be 7 days.

It’s great to hear of the GCSE results and it took me right back. Neither of mine performed particularly well at GCSE so the following day was taken up with a bit of hassle confirming sixth form places and courses but getting the results was such a relief. The long wait is brutal.

Will check in later with weigh in results but coffee is calling me
