Sorry, got distracted by something! Just wanted to say how fantastically well you've done @SteveHarringtonsHair ! Congratulations and I definitely hope you stick around here for maintenance. Your loss is really inspiring! 🙌🌟🏅

discov · 17/08/2025 18:21

Thanks all, I think I might do a S&B post and will check out that account @myladyjane.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy see I do keep wondering about a personal shopper but because I have such a specific style and I’m incredibly choosy, I don’t know if it would work for me. I need someone young and cool but who will put me in clothes that are appropriate for my age 😄 I always think of posh older ladies when I think personal shopping but that is totally a stereotype and I am sure it’s nothing like that!

I actually managed to get out real life shopping for a few hours this afternoon without dd. She loves shopping but is autistic and gets overwhelmed quickly so I never get to look for myself, and it’s very rare DH is home to watch her so I can go alone.

Didn’t do very well finding much I liked apart from I’ve realised mid rise jeans suit me way more than the high waist I’ve always worn. Picked up a nice pair in primark which I wouldn’t usually try for jeans but I had a voucher to use up. Tried on a v nice denim dress in M&S but the 8 was too big and they didn’t have any smaller. Same with a skirt in primark, I could have done with a 6. Then went into Zara and had the opposite where I needed a large instead!!

I did get a very lovely waxed body cropped jacket which is exactly what I’ve been imagining in my head but haven’t been able to find yet! And it was from the girls section of New Look oddly, so only £40. I was looking for school trousers for dd and spotted it so I am thrilled as it will be perfect for autumn. Age 11-12 🤣

BlueLimes · 17/08/2025 18:37

This is a lovely thread - everyone is doing so well, sorry about your lb @PenelopePerseveres and hope it disappears very soon (could the heat be a factor!).
@discov know what you mean, it’s our chance to find our new style ? there are some huge bargains in Jigsaw/mint velvet/ Hobbs might be worth a look.

I’m on holiday - jabbed 15mg yesterday and can barely eat today. I think I’ll take 12.5mg next week.

@Polkadotdash my friend has lost 6.5 stone on Wegovy.

I’ve decided to continue with mounjaro for at least 6 months, I’m hoping to go to maintenance soon, I don’t want to risk the progress I’ve made.

BlueLimes · 17/08/2025 18:38

@myladyjane I’ve been having protein yogurts to meet my protein target. The Arla ones are nice. £3 for 4 in Sainsbury’s

CurlsandCurves · 17/08/2025 19:22

@discov i get what you mean re not knowing your style. I’m desperately trying to hold off but my jeans are only being held up by my hips now and my tops are starting to look a bit silly.

@myladyjane great to hear from you someone in a similar situation. I have been sooo hungry since about Thursday onwards (jab day was Monday) and I’ve been saying I’ll move up every week for about a month, then going ‘just another week, then I’ll decide’ . It’s such a mind game!

Polkadotdash · 17/08/2025 19:35

@BlueLimes that's a huge loss for your friend on Wegovy. What about side effects though? Are they similar to MJ? I’m just considering what my options are. I don’t really want to switch, but if it’s a choice between stopping completely or switching to Wegovy on an intro deal for £90 it might be worth it.

PenelopePerseveres · 17/08/2025 19:38

@myladyjane 😳, no arse! You must pm me your secret, mines still rather ample! 🤣. I don’t think that’s achievable for 🍐 shaped me tbh.

Thank you @BlueLimes, fingers crossed it shifts (still on movicol 😬). I keep those protein yogurts in the fridge for when I can’t face eating. I prefer the Lindahls yogurts to the others (also a smaller pot as 200g is a bit much dairy for me).

I’m interested in everyone’s clothes talk, I haven’t got a clue what I want to wear/aim for looks wise. Then if I pull off my semi-retirement plan I’ll need far fewer work clothes too. I’ll keep plodding on for now.

I’m planning on buying a capsule wardrobe once I’m a small 14 because I think I’ll be happy there this will also help with downsizing.

Thelittlestranger · 17/08/2025 20:24

Having bought a brand new summer wardrobe, I'm going to have to look for an autumn/winter one soon - but will put that off to next month I think...

Great job @SteveHarringtonsHair and @MissPobjoysPonies and everyone else who is seeing such great success.

I'm still waiting to hear from Oushk, but was only Thursday evening I ordered, so....

Lowering the dose is definitely requiring more thought again from me on what I'm eating. I'm definitely reaching for more, but have made the conscious decision quite a few times over the last few days to stop eating. And to listen to my hunger. I haven't had to do that for a while, because it was happening unconsciously and it feels like titrating down is giving me that opportunity.

I'm not going to weigh myself until jab day on Tuesday. There, I've written it now, so I won't. And might take your lead @DGonMJ and either put the Renpho ones in my office at the end of the garden, or take the batteries out of the other ones, so I don't just step on the scales when I walk into the bathroom in the morning. Going to do that tonight.

Enjoy your holiday @BlueLimes !

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 17/08/2025 21:50

Oh yes the winter wardrobe. I have plenty of summer clothes now but really nothing to wear again when it starts getting colder. What I've figured out stylewise is that I look better in monochromatic outfits, everything in various shades of the same colour. The issue is that those can look super boring, so I need to add some belts, scarves and jewellery. It's so much more fun to buy clothes now though, when I don't assess everything from the 'does it make me look fat' perspective.

It is, and I have found myself looking at everything in the shop and not just scanning around to find the few ‘acceptable’ things I could wear. I would genuinely try anything on (within reason) now and I suspect an awful lot of it would look good on me. Which is a very nice feeling! I do need to start a petition to ban awful downlights in changing rooms though as they don’t do anyone any favours! My loose skin looks 100000x worse in that!!

PenelopePerseveres · 18/08/2025 06:23

My 1lb has gone and taken another 1lb with it. Weird.

PenelopePerseveres · 18/08/2025 06:54

I’ve just looked at Oushk’s fb page. They will honour orders/existing prices placed before 29/8. Not sure I’ll need another pen tbh as I now seem to be losing weight quite quickly 😳, 3.8kg since 3rd Aug and will get to the end of the year with my three pens.

Thelittlestranger · 18/08/2025 07:51

Can you send me the link to Oushk's FB page pls? I can see one if I search, but it doesn't seem to have the posts you guys are mentioning...

@PenelopePerseveres this is good news!

myladyjane · 18/08/2025 07:52

Hah @PenelopePerseveres it just likes to fox you. And I am also an hour glass/pear so loss of arse is distressing. Thankfully my thighs remain as sturdy as a pit pony and have lost not a jot. Dh is in mourning though as he does like a butt.

so my increase in dose appears to have precipitated a whoosh as I am almost 4lb down from Friday. I am not recording it yet as it’s also brought with it the ability to shit through the eye of a needle. And the sulphur burps are back with a vengeance. EXACTLY the same thing happened last time I moved up (and I’ve only moved up from 7,5 - 8,75, not even the full dose). Good jump start to loss but side effects. I expect weight will go back up a bit once my tummy settles and I can keep food in.

Jins · 18/08/2025 08:12

Morning losers!

Exciting day for me yesterday as I found two pairs of my favourite jeans from back in the day. A pair of grey straight cut Pilot and my absolute favourite Miss Sixty very low rise bootcut with a wide wrap belt. I thought they’d gone in a purge 20 years ago. Both size 6 but Miss Sixty came up very small. I can get the Pilot ones on and they look great if a little dated and I’m very close to getting the Miss Sixty ones fastened.

edit - posted too early. Congratulations on your wooshes and much sympathy @myladyjane. It’s for that reason I’ve split my doses in two for the last month or so

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 18/08/2025 08:32

congrats on wooshes!

wardrobe-wise, there are indeed so many items I believe don't suit me and therefore totally overlook. Tight tops, no, they bring out back fat. Paperbag trousers, no, they make my lower belly even bigger. Short tops, no, too big boobs, will look ridiculous. I don't remember I don't have those things any more.
Ooh I need to go and try some pleated midi skirts - they always made my arse the size of a house, but I also don't have an arse any more, so maybe they'll work now?

BreezyPeer · 18/08/2025 08:57

Morning losers! Off work today so meeting some long term friends for a lovely catch up! Xx( and a picnic- with cake! But mostly a catch up 🤣)

Jins · 18/08/2025 08:58

I’m lucky in that respect I think as generally the styles that suited me when I was slim were still the most flattering when I was fat. The least flattering item for me is a standard crew neck T shirt which is a bit of a bugger as they’d make layering so much easier. I’m not sure paperbag trousers suit many people so I’ve never considered them.

I suit V or scoop necks, camisoles, wrap tops, slim fit trousers, mini or maxi dresses and skirts but absolutely not anything that hits on or just below the knee. A bit of ruching is good but ruffles are not. I can get away with loose flowy trousers but I know they aren’t my best choice. Fashion has passed me by for the last 20 - 25 years as I’d prefer to wear something that suits me rather than the newest style.

I forgot that we’re off on Friday taking our tourer to meet friends at a steam rally. We go every year despite having no interest in tractions engines. We’ve got a week booked after it in the Peak District so I need to make sure there’s enough food for the menagerie.

2025istheyeari · 18/08/2025 12:14

@discov sounds like your shopping trip was successful 🎉.

I used Colour me Happy but I’m not 100% she got me right, she had me as an autumn but I ( and JL personal stylist and photos!!) think I'm
more a spring, I suit brighter colours. I get it’s hard from photos and she does get great reviews, maybe I’m just an anomaly ( or maybe I am an autumn but fighting against it 🤣). She did give some great advice though.
I’m also trying to find my style and did find a personal stylist helped, think I’ve said before that I’m busty with a short torso, v slim hips and long legs, so things that detract from my boobs is best! I’m still figuring out what does and doesn’t suit but it’s definitely easier and I’m enjoying shopping ( mostly!). I also need a new autumn/ winter wardrobe, looking in Mango, Zara and others on Friday didn’t give me much inspiration I must admit!

Interesting on the Oushk needles, how odd! I realised I put an order in for syringes yesterday but forgot the actual needles- doh! They’ve been fab, put my order on hold so I can add!

@SteveHarringtonsHair amazing, that’s a fab loss, well done!!

@MissPobjoysPonies 💚, blimey, that’s fantastic, go you!!

@meatyryvita so great to have compliments, especially when like you say you kind of don’t see it in yourself day to day, but 4 stone is massive, bet you look so different! Well done.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy so glad you’re starting to feel better.

@myladyjane glad you can carry on! well
done on that amazing loss too! solidarity on the side effects, I found peppermint oil capsules really helped, hopefully they’re short lived.

I’ve loaded some more stuff onto Vinted today, it is easy and I’ve made a lot of money ( as long as you can ignore the chancers!!)

PPP@DGonMJ, @BreezyPeer and @BlueLimes have fab holidays!

@PenelopePerseveres that’s amazing! I definitely lost more as I changed to higher doses. 7.5mg, so pleased you’re on a downwards trajectory!

I think that’s everyone, a lot of updates and sorry if I’ve missed anyone!!

MissPobjoysPonies · 18/08/2025 13:05

Thanks all!

Since my last post I’ve been in A&E with my mum and eaten poorly/erratically as one does.
Consequently I am now lighter than in my early 20’s. And my Numan order has been accepted/sent.
im now in a bother as I haven’t yet had it approved but my oushk order has also been charged 🫣 so at least I Should have a pen for September which was beginning to worry me as everyone was running low!

Anyway - well done all, keep going those who are feeling a little miserable - I have had weeks of no losses but it’s starting to come good again.

BTW I’m still over 11st at this point and only just on the green on the BMI but getting there and feeling pretty good “body wise” for an over 50!

My D sis told me not to lose any more yesterday as it’s obviously a shock for them to seen me “slim”. I tend to agree to be honest as I think I look better “filled” than skinny so I may well start maintenance in Sept/Oct

Jins · 18/08/2025 13:16

Hope all is well now @MissPobjoysPonies. I did more than a few A&E trips with my mum and it felt a bit weird, like our roles had reversed.

NSV of sorts. I just bought some size 8 wide leg trousers in Asda’s sale. Probably the first trousers I’ve bought for 5 years. They fit! A little tighter than I’d like on the waist but not too bad. However I had a suspicion that I wouldn’t suit wide leg trousers and I was right. I bought them for the fabric really as it’s good quality tencel and I can make them into something else very easy.

mince3point14159265 · 18/08/2025 14:57

Hope your DM is ok @MissPobjoysPonies 💐

Glad your orders have gone through though. As to looking possibly too slim, I've probably said it before, but I'm sure it will take a little while for our features to settle at a lower weight and I'm sure you look just fine!

MissPobjoysPonies · 18/08/2025 15:14

It’s also changing your style to suit your new body shape - I’m doing a lot of “fast fashion” items to push me through to my GW but I hate FF and would prefer to have a couple of decent/quality items to mix and match I just don’t know my style 🤣
I do know my bra size now though which is significantly smaller and I’ve been used to dressing for a “larger” bosom. Such a first world problem 🤗

im trying to lighten the mood for myself - I am finding that the NHS nurses and Dr’s are totally fantastic though and you need to go in with the mindset of not rushing out- they do an amazing amazing job and don’t deserve some of the horrible grief they get from some people. Aren’t we lucky to have them? The guys dealing with DM have been lovely - in a turbulent time, I’m now reminded that they could all probably do with some nice biccies/treats x

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 18/08/2025 15:39

@MissPobjoysPonies lovely to hear your mum is well taken care of.

And I hear you about boobs, I always had massive ones, so am so used to dressing in v-necks only and avoiding anything remotely higher. But that's not needed any more. Really opens up a lot of new options.

MJalltheway · 18/08/2025 17:18

Hope all goes well with your mum @MissPobjoysPonies , I'm sure the staff would be very appreciative of some nice treats!
I sadly cannot relate to @HeidiNotSoHeavy and @MissPobjoysPonies , my boobs have not gone anywhere 😭. I've slightly gone down from a 36/38 GG/H to a 34GG but that's more about the back size shrinking. Such a pain (literally!). This video made me laugh though.. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1FQn6rBKa2/?mibextid=wwXIfr 🥑 🥑
