Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

I have another pen after this one before I need to decide if I’m going to switch to wegovy. It will be interesting to see how any switchers get on. I can afford to stay on Mounjaro as it’s hopefully going to be one 7.5pen every three months. But I’ll definitely be watching others. 😊

That article about the weight loss pills is great! Let’s hope we have more options next year!

What dose will you use weekly and what will this cost you?

Do you mean for wegovy? I’m not sure what I would start on… I’ll let the provider suggest that. I’m on 2.5mg a week on Mounjaro.
I don’t even know how the pens work with wegovy and if you can count clicks like we do with Mounjaro. I’ve attached a screenshot of my message from Medexpress so you can compare the prices.

Yes I meant MJ. So you would get 15 x 2.5 mg doses out of the 7.5mg pen - which would then be about £17 / week?

I have just halved my bonus dose on a 7.5mg pen so taken the first 3.75 as I want to start massaging maintenance now. I have two 5mg pens which I bought before prices went up - which I intend to get 10 x 2.5mg doses out of each.

That’s sounds about right. Not too bad if you think about the weekly amount 😂

How are you all getting past the 30 day recommended 'usage' once opened? Just keep it in the fridge for the 2-3 months that it's open? I was hoping to stretch a pen out for more than 4 weeks so any advice appreciated :)

Gutted, have been on a weeks holiday & put on 7lbs. I morale 5mg but it spoiled my last holiday so took 2.5mg.

What I never planned for was my husband being sick (we think Covid) and therefore not doing as much walking as we would normally and ordering just eat or just choosing a nearby restaurant rather than taking our time finding somewhere decent.

Im hoping a good week will help. I was only 11lbs from goal!

I put on 5lb on holiday and a week later it was off again so don't panic :)

Hi everyone! I’ve had the most amazing day today. Husband and I both had the day off work and we went shopping to chose an outfit for a wedding we’re going to in September. I can’t remember the last time I tried on clothes without hating what I saw in the mirror! I picked up lots of size 12s and kept having to send my husband back for 10s! I do think sizes have become more generous since I was last this weight (about 17 yrs ago) and we were in John Lewis where sizes are bigger but still! It was an amazing feeling and I got a jumpsuit!! Me… a jumpsuit! I am never ever going to put on weight again - this is just the best feeling. I love clothes and for the first time since having kids I feel like I can enjoy them again!

QS90 · 09/09/2025 21:11

That's great @Incognitoburrito88 ! I'm excited for you, that sounds lush x

WinterOnItsWayOut · 09/09/2025 21:29

That’s a brilliant NSV @Incognitoburrito88and long may it continue! Make sure you take plenty of photos with your husband 💪

@vl888I’ve just spread a 5mg over 10 weeks. I’ve kept in the fridge and made sure I’ve cleaned the end each time with a sanitising wipe and a fresh syringe/needle each time. I’ve also checked the fluid is completely clear and would throw if a hint of cloudiness. This is just my experience so far and I obviously can’t recommend you do the same 🥴

vl888 · 09/09/2025 21:45

Just got an email from MedExpress with £30 off code for the inconvenience regarding stock lately. Every little helps 😀

Really?! I’ve had an email saying sorry it’s taken them so long, but no offer code!!

I got £30 off too! Tbf I have emailed them because it's been over two weeks, maybe that's why.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 10/09/2025 08:00

After 4 weeks of bouncing around the same weight I’m currently 2lbs down this week and at original goal of 10.5 🙌.

2.5 stone down in 22 weeks. Now just need to maintain that until Friday for official weigh in 🥴 🤞

I did take a bit more than 2.5mg last week as finished the golden dose in the pen so maybe that’s helped. Have also really focussed on water 💦

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Mumof2studentnurse · 10/09/2025 08:07

Running out the door to work but, its weigh day for me - Week 22. I started on April 9th.

Start Weight - 21st 9lbs (303lbs)
Current Weight - 14st 5lbs (201lbs)
Weight lost this week - 6lbs
Total weight lost - 7st 4lbs (102lbs)

I have some September goals that im hoping to achieve -

Reach 100lbs lost. (Achieved by Sept 10th weigh in)
Get under 200lbs in weight
Get into size 18 clothes

Full disclosure - its been a rough week. I think stress and sadness have contributed to my loss this week, but before mounjaro that stress and sadness would have resulted in a gain and not a loss!

I need to get rid of this pudgey tummy - its keeping me from being able to move down jeans size and even top size because smaller tops cling so badly to it that i would rather wear something that seems oversized to hide it a bit! I am hoping to see a difference in another stone or 2 from now.

Hope you are all doing well and having a great week.

fox919 · 10/09/2025 08:41

Jab and weigh day
W23d1
SW - 13st11.8
CW - 11st3.4lbs (0.4lb loss)
total loss - 2stone8lbs
GW - 10st

hope everyone is doing good (weight wise and generally!)

ClimbingKilimounjaro · 10/09/2025 15:13

Medexpress keep emailing me saying next order is due, but I ordered an extra mid August so I have 10 weeks worth currently. Would re-order with £30 off though for certain!

Delaying jab this week until Friday as off for a tasting menu Michelin lunch DH booked for my birthday (back in Jan!) and really want to enjoy it and the paired wines! Have lost 56lbs now and am starting to feel it in clothes but still mentally in the obese headspace so hoping time will sort that!

Currently 12st 0.2lb and cannot wait to see an 11 at the start! I have not been in the 11’s since before DC (who are now nearly 14 and 11!!). Exciting times.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 10/09/2025 16:07

Sorry you’ve had a bad week @Mumof2studentnurse🥲. You’ve done brilliantly so far 👏 . To lose 7+ stone is incredible!

well done too to @fox919 and @ClimbingKilimounjaro and enjoy your birthday meal 🙌

QS90 · 10/09/2025 16:08

My voucher is for my "next weight loss treatment", so I'm hoping that it will be valid for Wegovy too, when I switch.

SaddlebagSal · 10/09/2025 17:12

Hello everyone, it’s been a while. I’m still plodding away!

sw: 14st1lb
cw: 12st5lb
tw: 10st7lb or thereabouts (bmi of 25)

I’m up to 12.5mg now and I think this is the dose to stick at for me, it’s controlling my appetite well. My rate of loss has nudged up from 1lb per week to 1.25! Which is handy considering my base calorie requirement is dropping along with the weight.

Ive got a 15mg pen in the fridge, because I worked out that with the golden dose I can squeeze out 6 doses of 12.5mg - and that worked out cheaper than 5 doses out of the 12.5mg pen, thanks to the price increases.

Still having problems mentally adjusting to being a size I’ve not been this century, but having great fun buying new clothes on Vinted. And the local hospice charity shop is doing very well out of my old wardrobe!

Cerberus1808 · 10/09/2025 19:05

I'm with you all on the brain not catching up. Started off a size 18/20. Now a 14 but was trying a couple of dresses on earlier, in phase eight I can fit into a 12 😮 and I bought a shirt from primark that was a XS... was a massive shock

SaddlebagSal · 10/09/2025 19:43

I have a fancy Laura Ashley dress in one of those vacuum bags that I got when I was 21 and I was a size 16 - that was over 30(cough) years ago. I’d love to be able to get into it again. It probably equates to a size 10 or 12 now.

QS90 · 10/09/2025 20:15

@Mumof2studentnurse have you considered that you have diastasis recti? My tummy is my "problem area" too. For certain it holds fat, but I've been amazed how much difference the separated muscles make too. When I clench the muscles into the correct positions (not just sucking in), it takes about 6 inches off my waist size, and I actually get an "out-at-the-boobs-in-at-the-waist" silhouette (not that my stomach is in any way flat even with the muscles correctly aligned). I've found doing some excersizes designed to fix it, just from YouTube, has really helped x

Mumof2studentnurse · 10/09/2025 20:36

@QS90 Thanks so much for sharing that! I’ve got a PCOS belly and an apron belly from 2 c-sections, so my tummy’s definitely my trouble spot too 🙈 I’ll have to check out those diastasis recti exercises though. I can’t say no to anything that might help me feel a bit more boobs-out, waist-in 😂. x

Endometriosis tummy here, and also post two c-sections and two massive centile boys to boot😂🤦‍♀️ Not a lot of hope for washboard abs, but it can certainly be improved (and already has improved noticeably) x
