Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Where does this fit into your regime? At the moment I do (am)cleanse, tone, Vit C serum and eye cream, HA serum and eye cream and moisturizer/SPF in the morning, and the same in the evening but swapping retinol for the Vit C.

After Vit c/retinol.i also have a mist on top before final moisturiser as skin can feel tight after application.

NSV I have a retro style pencil dress in my wardrobe I bought the last time I lost weight. It was on sale and I loved it but I never, ever wore it because I just don't do clingy clothes. I tried it on again for the first time in years and fuck me, it looks fantastic. I now just need a reason to wear it; it's too nice for slobbing around in so I might convince the current husband we need to go out out so I can wiggle about.

Oh, and I am now the thinnest I have ever been in my entire adult life. I have no frame of reference so it's been fascinating if not infuriating as a social experiment seeing how much easier life is to navigate as a slimmer person.

Ugh, 12.5mg is kicking my arse. I’ve spent all day feeling sickish. I took the second dose of this one yesterday so I suppose I’ll just have to ride it out. Might count clicks to take a lower dose next week.

Hi @TooExtraImmatureCheddar I found moving up to 12.5 exactly the same. I felt horrible for 3 days, and pretty grotty for a few more.

Then, when we were on holiday I injected in the late afternoon instead of the morning. I
had much, much less of a kick back. I assumed it was just because I had acclimatised, but when I got back I injected in the morning as usual, then had 2 days of strong nausea and indigestion, much more than on any dose before.
On my next dose I injected in the late afternoon again, and had hardly had any problems.
I was going to drop back down to 10mg but will now stay on 12.5 but inject late afternoon/early evening.

Coincidentally there is a great article in this weeks New Scientist all about research into personal circadian rhythms. It said that taking medication at different times of day significantly affects efficacy and side effects. (It also said the best time to have a flu vaccine is earlier in the morning!).

Enjoy the cricket! STBDH is there too. He’s in the wanky corporate a bit though. Your picnic sounds delightful! Intrigued about the crustless quiches! Do you have a recipe?

For the crustless mini-quiches you can pretty much follow any quiche recipe but cook them in these little muffin cases. Then when they are cooled, peel off the muffin cases (which you can then wash and re-use).
Great for picnics, but I also make a batch and have for lunches.

My general recipe for a lower fat/high protein classic quiche is
1 onion chopped and fried.
2 eggs, 1 egg yolk
1/2 tub low fat Philadelphia (ie about 80g)
either 8 rashers cooked bacon, or 4 slices ham, chopped small
30g cheddar grated more thickly
also some finer grated cheddar to sprinkle on top.
Whisk the eggs and Philadelphia, add all the other ingredients, sprinkle the finer grated cheese on top.
spoon into the muffin cases and cook at 200 for 15-20 minutes.

salmon version:
2 eggs, 1 egg yolk
1/2 tub philadelphia light
200g smoked salmon chopped into small pieces.
1 pack asparagus. Finely chop all the way up the stalks but leave the last 2 cm tips whole.
2 tsp dried dill
whisk the eggs and philadelphia
add the chopped salmon, dill and finely chopped asparagus.
add the asparagus tips to the tops.
cook at 200 for 15-20 minutes.

Thanks, @MagnoliaTreePetals, I’ll try that. I jabbed at about 10am the last time, so will try early evening instead next week. Fingers crossed!

Excitedly sharing the fact I got a parkrun PB today. I never thought I’d be running sub 30 again. I beat my previous PB from 7 years ago which was on a fast and flat course. Today’s course was hillier and more congested. MJ has really changed my life.

I’m an evening jabber , because I was told that you should always take hormones in the evening so that you potentially sleep off any nausea, etc. I do the same for HRT. It is a very interesting area, isn’t it?

The dress sounds fabulous! Enjoy every minute of wafting around feeling glamorous! It’s true about the weight loss and being a slimmer person, isn’t it? I feel more seen if that makes sense? I’ve also found people assume I’m younger than I am almost as if being fat equals old age.

OP posts:

That's an interesting point, how do you mean life has been easier to navigate?

I've not lost as much as many people on here, around 33lb which is about 18% of previous bodyweight.

I feel much better and look better and can cross my legs more easily but I haven't noticed anything different in how people treat me, or other aspects of life.

Have others found differences? What are they?

Strangers are generally smilier, nicer, more accomodating. It's a small example, but I walk everywhere so I've really noticed - cars now stop if I'm waiting to cross a road.

Cantbesure · 03/08/2025 10:53

I’ve lost a similar amount to you @Oceangrey. I’ve lost 35lbs and 24% of my body weight. I think the biggest change has been how I see myself. I’m still shocked when I see a photo. A friend posted a candid snap of us at a local beer garden. I honestly had to double take that the slim woman with shoulder/chest bones was me. I also feel a bit mean how I feel about my old self when memories pop up on my phone.

I don’t know if people treat me any differently, but I loved going to a wedding of an old friend knowing I was going to meet old school pals and not be fat.

my biggest change has been fitness. My VO2 (Apple Watch measured) has gone from 29.8 in November to 36.2 today.

That's... Kind of horrific actually. I assume people don't realise they are being friendlier to thinner people? Or maybe they do. I hope I've never acted differently towards people of different sizes.

It could be for a myriad of reasons. Maybe I'm more confident and smiley myself so they're mirroring it back. And it's a me thing not a them thing. But the cars stopping thing? No idea!

Little NSV today, was out for coffee and saw The White company had a sale on, and I like their shower gel so went to look. Saw the clothes rail and realised that they sell clothes that fit me now, and I can have a browse and not look delusional.
As it was, the clothes were still waaaay too expensive for what they are and they only had big sizes left! So I left feeling smug and skinnier.

On Friday I had a ‘fuck it’ half hour and uploaded 6 items onto Vinted. The last of my size 20 stuff from Boden, White Stuff and SeaSalt. Well tickle me with a feather duster as they have all sold. So I will have to walk to post them tomorrow. I may have put them on too cheap but something is better than nothing.

random223 · 03/08/2025 17:27

Feeling a bit stuck at the moment so have decided to go up to 8.75mg for hopefully last pen before maintenance.

Am doing OK with exercise but less well with water and cooking nutritious meals. The mini-quiche recipe looks nice.

Hope others are having a better week.
