End of week 2 today / beginning of week 3

Only 0.7lb off this week which is disappointing (though 5lb off in week 1). Been much more hungry this week, haven’t really felt that much suppression. Been eating really healthily though.

I was hoping to stay on 2.5mg but looks like I’m moving up to 5mg. Though I have heard of people suddenly getting good suppression on week 4 so we’ll see how we go!

KAM1989 · 27/06/2025 12:30

Where do you buy additional needles for the pen ? And insulin needles for extraction ?

HereWeGoooovy · 27/06/2025 12:30

Hi 👋 can I join please?

I have Wegovy (not Mounjaro but there don’t seem to be separate Wegovy threads) and did my very first injection this morning.

Bit concerned about managing the side effects but not feeling a thing so far. Just woofed down some lunch… I didn’t finish it completely, but it was a big portion and can’t imagine appetite surpression would have kicked in already.

Let’s see how it goes. I would love to lose 20kgs (from 80 to 60) which feels impossible to be honest. I think I’ve been struggling with body dysmorphia the other way around- ie I don’t think I’m as lardy as I am and then end up in tears trying on summer clothes and reality kicks in.

I have same goal! From 80 to 60-62kg. Let the force be with us!

So, I've started doing strength exercises this week. Now, I am not fit by any stretch of the imagination but I'm struggling more than I should. Almost feel dizzy and weak during the 10 minute dumb bell session. Is anyone else finding the same?

Welcome!!

My deciding point in taking Mounjaro was catching sight of my body in a mirrored shop window. I swear my mirrors at home must make me look slimmer than I am in reality!! I almost died seeing my reflection!

shifting12345 · 27/06/2025 13:38

My DS came round yesterday who herself is on a health kick… was lovely to mutually exchange comments about both our successes!

Puffalicious · 27/06/2025 13:42

I've solved the mild constipation! 🍍 Yes, had a big tub of pineapple this morning, because I really fancied it, with usual cup of hot water & lemon , and it had the unexpected result of me having the best loo experience 😀 of the past 11 days (W2D4).

I'd forgotten that pineapple was always touted as bringing on labour, so I suppose it could be a natural laxative🤣.

Now dashing out to buy 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🍍 🤣

HereWeGoooovy · 27/06/2025 13:58

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have only told DH and 1 friend that I’m going down this route as I can’t face their reactions - either about the drug itself (though this is tame compared to any early 2000s partying IYKYK) or just probably my own insecurity that they are judging me for not being able to do it without.

@WhatTodoALL - great that we have the same goal!!! Have you got a general plan of attack in mind?

@pumicepumy - oh cool! When did you start and how are you doing with it? Most seem to be on Mounjaro. I live abroad and the doc here said to start Wegovy given my bmi wasn’t quite quite quite in obese, but can move to Mounjaro later if needed. I get the impression Wegovy is the baby-steps version so I hope it bloody works! I wondered if it’s cheaper though I’m paying for it myself anyway….

@Tinybirdie I’ve read so much that says weight training is key, so good for you for doing any at all. No experience of WT + WLI as I only just started today but plan to do some tomorrow. But were you fueled or hungry??

I was expecting to be rushing to the loo all afternoon but feel literally totally normal. I know it’s super early so maybe my far stomach is waiting until I’m working in the office next week! Food noise at full force - kids snack drawer is calling me!!!!!

By the way by stab-site was a bit sore afterwards - stung for a while then ached but now seems ok. Guess that’s normal but wasn’t expecting that after the jap itself was painless!

Oh yes! I did a weight training session and thought I was going to pass out. Just 5 mins exertion and I was struggling. I am going to take it slow but up my time with each session. I know my fitness levels are somewhere below giant blancmange levels so it's gonna be a hard journey but one I'll have to make.

I think I’m like this too! I thought nah you aren’t that bad. Then I see pics of myself and think eh?! Is the angle really that bad?!

day 1 for me and I’ve just had a protein bagel with bacon, chicken sausage, poached egg and low fat cheese. Taken until 2.30 to be bothered about it and no snacks all morning.

Hello all. I’ve had some diarrhoea these last few days 🙈😱 this didn’t happen in my first week, but came on suddenly W2D3. Imodium seems to be helping a bit, and I’m also trying to consume some electrolytes to stay hydrated. Hoping it passes soon!

Yes ! Yesterday had horrendous diarrhoea. Easing off now but don't know where it came from

HereWeGoooovy · 27/06/2025 14:37

Question for those of you with diarrhoea… is it like controllable? My fear is being in a meeting at work and having to run out!

Can you hold it? Then just let go when you go? Or is it an urgent need to dash to a loo??

Jenny2020 · 27/06/2025 14:51

I think everyone will respond differently when they first start taking it. Also the starting dose is for your body to get used to the drug so you may not start seeing a significant increase until you go up to the next dose.

Those that do have a significant weight loss in the first week won’t be losing fat it will mostly just be water.

Any weight loss is a great result so well done. You mention that you’re having three meals a day have you worked out how many calories you are having?

Have you done any form of weight training before? It might be better to do exercise without weights for a couple of weeks and then add in weight if not?

Had you not eaten for a while? Could have been a little low blood sugar due to that.

It might be a plan to buy a glucometer- they’re not that expensive, and keep an eye on how bloke sugars go. I have one.

No I haven’t but I assumed that because I’m definitely eating a lot less then at least I would see some sort of difference ,
hopefully I loose a few more next week but I’m happy with a loss

No, never done any kind of weights but I read it was really important on MJ. They are only 2kg weights so thought that was a good start. I definitely had not eaten enough beforehand.
I became obsessed with blood sugars in pregnancy so im a bit worried I would go down that neurotic road again if I bought a glucometer 😀 Are you seeing yours go quite low. I sometimes forget it's a medication for diabetes!

Mine’s been pretty urgent, especially when it first came on. Later episodes have been a little bit more controllable. But I wouldn’t have wanted to be far from a toilet these past couple of days.
