Does anyone know how to decide to go up a dose?

I'm nearly week 3 of 1st month. I've lost 2.5 kg so far and averaging around 1100 calories per day. Appetite is definitely suppressed. I'll need to re-order in next week so I am wondering whether to keep on starter dose or move up to 5mg.

Any advice?

the starter doses wear off
you could be wasting your money trying to save money

Im telling you MY experience
there are plenty of people experiencing side effects on this thread.

another bit of advice would be to avoid it when going on holiday.

Enjoy your holidays without any side effects and just feel normal. We pay allot of money to go away and to be on these drugs feels like a waste

There will be one winner at the end of the day...... pharma

You are not only sharing your experience though are you? You are claiming people will pile the weight back on, which you can’t possibly know.

I am one of the people who has experienced awful side effects after my first jab and if it happens again I may well decide to quit. What I won’t do is come on posts where I have no skin in the game and TELL people who are trying their hardest to better themselves that it is a waste of time and money and they will gain the weight all back.

Like I said, if you hadn’t had such a bad reaction, you would still be giving your money to the ‘pharma’ so do us all a favour and stick to posting on the fasting/keto threads.

Interesting chart I found on Reddit to help with this (Zepbound/Mounjaro same thing)
I'm doing a second month on 2.5mg, I'm losing slowly and I have no bad SE, I dont want to race to the highest dose and have nowhere to increase if my body gets used to it.

Does anyone know if MJ does anything for your eyesight? Had to screenshot and zoom in to read the chart 🤣🤣

I’ve not even jabbed yet and that’s me daily 😂 optician told me pregnancy impacts your eyesight. She’s now 5 and mine are getting worse 😂

Lol! If you click it, it should open and be easier to zoom, but sorry yeah its a bit teeny.

I was very torn between upping my pen cause I've had a good response to 2.5mg. What I would say is I'm W4 and feeling a little less suppression this week. I've got the 5mg pen in the fridge for next time, but I'm intending a couple of weeks at 3.75mg to bridge the gap and hopefully minimise any SEs being too significant x

NeedyTiger · 26/06/2025 11:41

Morning jabbers week 5 it's jab day. time is a flying ! And what an interesting few weeks , I have spent my weeks changing my diet from 1 meal a day and snacking on crisps chocolate and cake to having a meal which is protein heavy and wholemeal products and making an effort to eat more meals like protein granola with natural yoghurt or protein yoghurt with chia seeds and snacking on fruit , this month i'm staying on the 2,5mg and concentrating on portion control as my plate size reduces , I'm having small losses which is what I'm aiming for .
I have generalized anxiety and severe PTSD and have noticed my anxiousness is noticeably better.
BMI 28
SW week 1 : 72:8kg
Week 2 : 72:6kg
Week 3 : 72:6kg
Week 3 : 70:30kg
GW 58 kg

Uberella · 26/06/2025 11:46

Im not sure how these threads work but it’s been 8 days since my first jab and ive lost 8lbs

Anonymous2029 · 26/06/2025 12:44

I’m W1 D4, I’m really really struggling to eat, I just can’t do it! It’s been like this since the day after the jab. I don’t think I can take another one as I feel awful from lack of food and worried it is quite damaging. Does it start to get better?? Scales already say 2.5kg loss which I imagine is water retention or something but it’s way too fast for me.

Any tips? X

Can you drink your calories? Is that any easier.

I’m trying to make smoothies but even that I’m struggling with. Can anyone recommend a good protein drink without too many additives in?

I not telling anyone what to do - people need to try these things.

id be interested to see where everyone is in 3 years with this.
how will it effect families. just because you are eating less now, are you still over feeding your kids and husband the same naughty foods?
there is a much bigger picture here and people need to really understand it. this might be through trial and error.
its not a magic bullet
also what happened to the cost of living crisis. baffles me how everyone is affording this really expensive medication

You're in the wrong thread - surely you want to be on a fasting thread rather than here with us?

just sharing what i went through on three different weight loss pens

hair loss was another issue

A bit slow week 3 and 4 though, still on 2.5 and getting good suppression

I imagine husbands can make their own food decisions and it isn’t the responsibility of the wife to decide what they eat.

people continue to work hard to afford the things they want. We could say that about anything. How are people affording a holiday? A new car? Gym memberships? Yoga classes? By working hard I imagine.

I think I’d have to be pretty bored to go into random threads that don’t apply to me and keep responding. I’d be too busy working hard to enjoy what I want in life.

There are lots of threads where people are bashing MJ.

With all die respect, this thread has been a really positive experience for me to read and share thoughts with like-minded people who are choosing to do this for their own reasons.

Please consider that if you decide to keep posting x

Can I join please? I’m actually on W4D3 already. I’ve lost 9lb so far but this week it seems less effective. I’m moving to 5mg next week but is it normal to feel it’s less effective in wk4 of 2.5mg?

Hi @SesTheBrave I am W4D4 now so same as you! I lost 8lbs so far, nothing this week despite definitely still eating in calorie deficit. I am moving to 5mg on Monday so am hoping the loss will kick back in!

As adults @Creamcakes99 I think we are all mature enough to have researched the ins and outs before decided to take WLI. We can also choose to prioritise spending money on this if we choose to do so.

This has been a lovely supportive group and you are the only person who has brought negative energy into it.

Sorry it didn't work out for you taking WLI but it is working for us.

So thanks for the input, but as the saying goes, if you can't say something nice, then perhaps consider not saying anything at all.

wheretheheckissummer · 26/06/2025 13:37

I suggest we all just ignore now. They’ll soon get bored if nobody responds to them 🙄

So, you are more invested in other people lives and what they are like and doing in 3 years time.?
Why ? Is your life so boring you want to live someone elses life ?

Nobody on here needs your negative input, so why not go and live your life away from here ?

5 pounds off in my first week and havent felt hungry once! Hope this continues ( although I expect weight loss to slow down)

W5D1 Wowsers, that was a quick 28 days from starting my journey! I am so grateful to you all being here to talk things through and hear others’ stories.

I was successful in taking the golden dose for today’s injection. I very nearly bottled it after I’d extracted the liquid as I was worried about what seemed like a large air pocket at the top of the syringe but I watched this guy’s video which gave me confidence:

I extracted 7ml and then used 1ml to prime so I only injected 6ml to keep my dose the same as I am at Sports Day tomorrow for 5 hours and did not want to risk side effects as the sports grounds has limited toilet facilities for a lot of people!

9 pounds down in a month which I’ll take although I was secretly hoping to be 11 stone 6 this morning as I was 11 stone 7 on my mid-week weigh on 21 June. But I need to remember that a pound a week is fine and will get me to where I want to be over time and I’ve been lucky to have minimal side effects.

SW 12 stone 2
CW 11 stone 7
GW ?? Will aim for 10 stone 7 for now

I am staying on 2.5mg for month 2 so need to prepare myself that 4 pounds in a month will be a good result as I won’t have the initial first week loss this time round!!

Thanks so much for the YouTube link - really helpful. He explains it very well. I’m going to order the needles as it looks easy enough to do.
