Has anyone on here with SheMed heard/seen anything about their plans regarding the price hike?

This is what they sent first but then I did a follow up.
In a following correspondence they told me I can order early after my next injection. That is Thursday.

Thank you for your email. As you mentioned, you have seen in the news that the cost of Mounjaro has recently more than doubled. We completely understand how worrying this might feel.

We are just as surprised and disheartened by this news as you are. The health and well-being of our members is always our number one priority, and we will fight to do everything we can to keep our programme fair and accessible.

We are now carefully reviewing our pricing in light of this change and exploring every possible option to support you. For now, our pricing remains unchanged, and we promise to be open and transparent. We’ll update you as soon as we have more information.

In the meantime, if you have any concerns about your treatment or ongoing support, we’re here to help.

Nearlyhadenough · 17/08/2025 19:23

@toobusytoclean I’ve heard or seen nothing, but even though I expect they are working on it, I wasn’t anticipating anything over the weekend.

I’m on several facebook pages with them and there’s been nothing. I believe only a few pharmacies have given pricing structures out.

Hopefully they’re working to get a good deal, though I’m not sure how they can continue with one price for all doses?

My next injection check-in is Wednesday and it will be the second jab from this pen, so hopefully I too can order ahead of the September increase.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 17/08/2025 22:01

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok with all this mj price stressiness. I'm still waiting to find out if the pen I ordered thursday night gets approved or rejected.

Yesterday was jab day, did my 16th dose, I'm staying on 3.75mg for now as it's working well. I lost 1.5lbs this week, total is now 36.7lbs

Great losses @PumpKim @BeachBodyAim @Zebracat @Scousebloke !

@Merlin23 & @bridgetreilly wow that's a big change for you both well done!

@Coventree I agree I'll be sad to lose the community. I hope people will stay, a lot of us will still be on a weight loss journey with or without mounjaro, and the support while starting the medication will be just as important while stopping it. I have no plans to leave but I am trying to stay offline a bit at the moment just because I know there's going to be a lot of nastiness around, this thread is the only place I'm still reading, it feels like a safe little corner of the internet.

@Crunchymum I'm sorry to hear it's been so bad 🙈🙉🙊

@ymemanresu great to hear low dose maintenance is going well for you!

Slowlyslowlysurely · 18/08/2025 10:14

Hi can I join please? Started on 28th April and have taken my first 10mg over the weekend - week 17. So far I’ve lost 37lb taking my BMI to 33.7, my first major goal is to get it below 30 so that I’m no longer obese.
I’m not really enjoying 10mg and doubting my decision to increase - especially with the price rises stock issues! I’ve tried to reorder from my current supplier and another supplier without success, so far 😢
I feel so much better on the medication and I don’t know how I’ll cope if I can’t get it or can’t afford the increased prices. Has anyone considered swapping to a different medication?

oops sorry this is long!

Welcome @Slowlyslowlysurely
I didn't find this group until about a month ago and I am loving the support.

wlinewbie0425 · 18/08/2025 10:34

Welcome @Slowlyslowlysurelygreat to have another late April starter join us.

Congrats on your loss so far that’s a fantastic achievement 🎉

We are all feeling a bit blindsided by last week’s news and discussing options that might work for us. Have you considered taking 7.5 from your 10mg pen instead (or something in between?) if the jump is too much for you this might be better and have the bonus of making the pen last longer (if you are comfortable with that - it’s a personal risk/decision in terms of using pen for longs than 30 days - I’m not recommending but there is good advice on this board about how to minimise risk if you do.) I do think a lot of us are re-evaluating this in light of cost.

wlinewbie0425 · 18/08/2025 10:39

Well done @slightlysmallerPoisonIvyand everyone else who posted about losses this week 🎉🎉

I feel like celebrating our progress and successes has taken a back seat with all the price rise and availability stress and it’s good to remind ourselves just how far we have come and how lucky we are to have had a good run already before this happened. I think we benefited from starting later than many as the initial advice was to move up every 4 weeks and if we had all done that we would be on to 15mg but very few of us are as by the time we started there was so much anecdotal evidence that low doses work well for many so we didn’t rush up. Which makes the new prices less impossible hopefully.

Hope you are all doing ok this week and have managed to make a plan whatever that may be for managing the new situation.

OP posts:
Slowlyslowlysurely · 18/08/2025 10:52

Thanks @wlinewbie0425 I think this is what I will do. I’ve just asked on another thread about using a separate syringe. If 10mg is not having a huge impact then I’ll happily reduce down to 7.5mg or even 5mg so that I can continue my journey at a more affordable price.

I’ve have had an email from Wegovy this morning stating that there’s now only a 7 day ‘flushing out’ period before swapping over - I might consider this depending on how this situation plays out.

wlinewbie0425 · 18/08/2025 10:56

@Slowlyslowlysurelyyou would only need separate string for the extra liquid in pen (5th dose of 10mg) if you have enough pen needles you can do the rest with clicks. 30 clocks for 5mg. 45 clicks for 7.5mg and all the other possibilities just work out the ratio of 60 for the dose you want.

OP posts:
Slowlyslowlysurely · 18/08/2025 11:11

Oh yes that makes sense! Thanks @wlinewbie0425 ☺️

wlinewbie0425 · 18/08/2025 11:15

Glad you realised string was an autocorrect for syringe not some weird new extraction method 😂 and clocks for clicks! I need to take a break from my phone!

Welcome aboard.

I started on 26th April and I've just moved up to 10mg (just took my first jab on Saturday and so far all okay)

I think there are very few of us in this group who have moved up to 10mg. Lower doses seem to have worked well for most. 7.5mg was okay for me and depending on how the price increase pans out then I may move back down.

I tried Wegovy before MJ and I only lost 4lbs in 8 weeks so its MJ or nothing for me.

For those who have successfully ordered additional pens I've had no joy with trying a second supplier. I was hoping to try and get another 10mg with some sort of discount but I cannot find anywhere suitable (they either aren't taking new customers or the discount isn't worth it?) Any suggestions appreciated.

Vixs13 · 18/08/2025 12:04

Hi everyone,

I’ve not posted for a long time! I’ve had a lot of personal and work stuff going on. I think it’s been about 8 weeks and looking back I’ve lost about 11lbs since I last posted. I’ve never pulled big numbers but it’s been nice and steady and one maintain.

Im still on 5mg I’ve done 3 months on 5mg now and oh my god the suppression is still going strong! I’ve got a 7.5mg in the fridge but I’m a bit scared of going up as I’m struggling to eat properly now never mind if I increase the dose.

I have now lost 2st 5lbs and got 1st 5lbs to go to my target. I’ve gone from a size 18/20 to a 12/14 and lost 7inch just off my waist!

The price increase is just awful, I feel for a lot of people who still have a lot to lose. Taking MJ has been the best decision I’ve made and it’s given me my confidence back and not want to hide away at home.

I have my 5th dose and 1x 7.5mg pen and this will be my last pen I have, I won’t be continuing with it as I can’t justify the price and whatever weight I get to from my last pen I’ll try and do it on my own.

Seahawk80 · 18/08/2025 12:12

Just an update on my Friday panic orders in case it helps anyone looking for a new supplier. I couldn’t find any discounts so I used 3 x new suppliers with decent prices plus pillsorted who I used before. All orders placed after 1630 on Friday and 5mg pens prices with delivery.

Pillsorted - was already a client. £156. Dispatched today.
Your pharmacy - New supplier £157, approved Friday evening dispatched today
Simple Online Pharmacy - New supplier £143. Email Saturday to say unprecedented demand, they do have enough stock to fulfil orders but please allow 7-10 days for processing.
Oxford online pharmacy - New supplier £144. Nothing yet beyond a reference number for the order on Friday.

ill keep you posted but just thought this might be useful for some people.

wlinewbie0425 · 18/08/2025 12:24

I was going to list the details of the ones I managed to get but I did it on Thursday lunchtime and Friday morning and the codes/availability/allowing new customers have subsequently changed.

I managed to get 2 pens to see me through (hopefully to goal) from Swift doctor and pharmacy2u and was impressed with service from both (latter one still to be delivered). I’ve previously used Chemist4u and Weprescribe with success and started with MedExpress who are what they are and might not be the worst option now that other prices have jumped up and word is they have better stock than most, to get an extra pen if you are already on their books (they aren’t letting new customers get more than 2.5).

Well done @bridgetreilly congratulations on your milestone 🎊

Thanks for the recommendations. Unbelievably not one of them is available (either oos, not accepting new customers)

I did try Juniper but it wouldn't let me select 10mg. It was going to take the money (I assume for a starting dose?) and then I'd receive a phone call consultation?

Also on the comparison price list some of the suppliers seem to only have prices in euros? (If that's what the e means?) Not sure what this even means? My current supplier has changed to e pricing?

It's all getting a bit desperate.

EC on monj is for “existing customers” at the moment. Sorry you aren’t finding anything. I think today a lot of them are busy clearing their order backlogs and doing inventory to make sure they only take orders they are able to fulfil. So keep checking tomorrow/wednesday and things could change.

No it's not the EC.

It's actually e infront of the price. The screen shot doesn't show it clearly.
