Hi. It's me. I stopped a couple of weeks ago due to absolutely awful side affects of going upto 7.5 and zero weight loss for a while.
I did actually join a gym and I'm happy to say I'm feeling much better in myself and haven't gained any weight. I'm only doing swimming for now but aim to do the various machines to target stomach and arms, which show the weight loss most.
The strange thing is, I crave healthy food now. I know my stomach shrunk as I just didn't want to eat on MJ. I honestly don't know why I didn't lose more weight!
The news about the price hike is absolutely disastrous and I really feel for you all and for anyone who was contemplating taking it. It's too much.
I'm hoping the gym will help me to continue to keep the weight off, tone up (much needed when you're older) and oddly, I'm really enjoying it. I wouldn't have done without losing the 1 stone on MJ. It's made a massive difference and I'm grateful.

Scousebloke · 16/08/2025 05:20

First thing Saturday is weigh time for me. Ive lost 3lb this week taking me to 2 and a half stone lost (35lb). Im obviously happy with that but im still trying to process the price increase etc.

PumpKim · 16/08/2025 08:08

@TheSilentSister great to hear that you're doing so well since stopping. Gives some hope that it can be done.
@Scousebloke brilliant loss!
Same with processing the increases. I read your previous update re NHS prescription, it must be so stressful for you. I just don't feel like they can simply snatch away something that is showing to be so beneficial to your health. It's very short sighted if the NHS do that, when balanced against future costs for weight related health issues.
For me it's also come at a time when we're a bit down on our luck as a family (husband's work has dried up) so to be trying to figure out how I can still spend money on MJ feels selfish. I was already having that dilemma before the news of price hikes, so it all feels like the odds are against me.
I need to give my head a wobble and snap out of this funk! I've still got 2 months supply so I know I just need to suck it up and reassess in October.

violetmondays · 16/08/2025 08:51

Morning everyone. I’m on holiday at the moment hence been quiet for a bit. I’ve heard the news and caught up with the price hike nonsense, so I just wanted to come on and say how sorry I am. A big blow. Personally I have a couple of months worth in the fridge at home and trying not to think about it too much whilst on holiday, however, I did try to order a pen from Swift doctor who very quickly stopped all orders when the news broke so I wasn’t able to.
I’ve seen on other threads and groups that it might not be as bad as first indicated so keeping my fingers crossed and hope most people find a way to continue this journey.

I haven’t weighed this week or jabbed so no update from me on that. But I have a very good nsv - usually on holiday I dread going to the beach/pool and try to hide myself as much as possible but this holiday I felt completely different. I felt confident enough to walk on the beach and play with my kids and felt free from the constant negative thoughts about how I look. It’s been so liberating.
With regards to eating on holiday, I’ve had pizza and ice cream and wine but in much more limited amounts than usual and stopping when full, so I’m hoping not to do too much damage! Will check in when I get back.

Well done to all the recent losses and @bridgetreilly fab news on those blood results. Thinking of you @Scouseblokehope you manage to fight to keep being provided MJ.

Zebracat · 16/08/2025 11:14

Well done @Scousebloke . it’s all good ammunition for your battle. You’ve really worked it. Have you checked thecomorbidities list, there maybe something like sleep apnoea that you’ve not yet been diagnosed with but do actually have?
it’s my weigh day and I have lost 1.1 kilos , bringing me to 89.7 kilos. Feels good to be in the 80s. We are decorating and I’m going to get an 80s playlist on!

BeachBodyAim · 16/08/2025 11:29

SW 17.7
CW 14.11
1lb loss this week - I think it’s week 17?!
Total loss - 2 stone 10 pounds

That 3 stone mark feels so close - can’t wait to hit that!!
Have a fab week all and well done on the losses and NSV’s!!!!

ymemanresu · 16/08/2025 13:36

Hello everyone, congratulations all. Ive been on holiday and on maintenance of 1.25mg for 4 weeks now ( bmi 25 ) I feel i look ‘just right’ now for me at this weight. On holiday i did drink nearly every day, have ice creams and ate out a few times. I think i put on about 2 pounds but i kept up with my steps every day and got it off quickly when i got home calorie counting again.

Really pleased with that. Appetite has come back but i think it’s what naturally slim people get? No way near as it was before when i was craving sugary foods every day and thinking about food all the time. I also feel like my stomach has shrunk. I get a little more hungry than on the higher doses but i give myself a mental talking to and have smaller portions now. I also let myself have a ‘cheat day or cheat meal’ where if i fancy something ‘bad’ i just have it and don’t make myself get annoyed.

I weigh every day first thing in morning using those Renpho scales and that puts me in a good mood for the day as i’ve achieved my goal. I’m keeping up with the protein too.

Weigh fluctuates a pound or two but we know this is normal. No side effects anymore, sulphur burps completely gone . Still a little constipated, i had that anyway before MJ but mine was severe on the higher doses ( it took 3-4 dulcolax )

I think i will stay on 1.25 indefinitely and see how my appetite is when the clocks go back . I suffer SAD every year and always put 7-14 pounds on. I may increase the dose a little then titrate down when spring comes.

So that’s my journey and plan until next year. Feeling more confident and enjoying wearing clothes again .

Feel terrible about those affected by the price increase and low supply issues. I wasn’t expecting this, were others ? - although i can see why Eli lily have done this 😡😡😡. Wishing you all continuing nsvs are more losses.I will keep popping in x

Seahawk80 · 16/08/2025 16:52

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say so sorry to everyone worrying about the price increases. Hopefully it will all settle down and there will be more offers etc. I feel like an idiot for not ordering g a new pen earlier, but then we didn’t know this was coming. I couldn’t order more pens yesterday until the evening as I was out, I’ve ordered 4 on the basis that at least 1 or 2 might cancel the order as I’m probably behind all the other panic orders now! I have already had an email from Simple online pharmacy to say they expect the order to take 7-10 days to process. I have 2 doses left and will probably spread those out as I’m going away, so I’m not too worried about how long it takes but the main issue is I’m away for a week so can’t be there for delivery! I’ll have to see what happens and contact them late next week if I haven’t heard. It’s such a nightmare and really feel for everyone.

on the plus side I just realised I haven’t jabbed for 2 weeks as I felt so bloated after my holiday and I still have been eating well and small portions, as others have said I think my stomach has shrunk. Makes me hopeful for maintaining!

Merlin23 · 16/08/2025 18:13

NSV
I went out yesterday and tried on clothes in different shops to work out sizes, so I can buy online on sites like Vinted.
Everything I tried on fitted and was a size 14. I went charity shop shopping today everything i bought was a 14 I'm in disbelief.

I went and bought new work trousers today exactly the same ones from M&S but a 14 instead of size 22. Wow what a difference.
All my winter clothes are in the loft and probably unwearable as they'll be too big.
I think a new wardrobe is coming.
💰💰💰

Crunchymum · 16/08/2025 18:29

Blimey @Merlin23 a size 22 to a size 14 is wonderful.

And what a wonderful excuse to shop!!

I can't say I've noticed much difference in my clothes? 32.5lbs down and I've only had to buy new knickers (and even then I've only gone down a size?).

I've lost the weight somewhere, just not sure where? 😂

I've been looking at other suppliers and lots of places are out of stock or only dealing with existing clients. I'm going to try and get one more 10mg pen at the current price with my current provider asi should be able to to do that in about 10 days.

I've never paid more than £135 (that was for 10mg, smaller doses were cheaper) as I've always done a price match, but given most places aren't accepting new orders or offering great deals there isn't much to price match against, so I'm just going to pay the £200 for 10mg.

I am going to be able to absorb the increase for a few months so I feel less panicky now but it's going on my CC so not ideal.

bridgetreilly · 16/08/2025 21:26

That’s amazing, @Merlin23! I also did some clothes shopping today and I have gone from 22-24 to pretty reliably an 18.

Well done! It feels good doesn't it?

PumpKim · 16/08/2025 22:31

@Merlin23 that is amazing to have dropped so many sizes.
I'm like @Crunchymum and haven't really noticed loads of difference in clothes yet but I did think my knickers were feeling a bit saggy the other day 🤣

I wonder if you went to some clothes shops and tried on clothes you would see a difference.
It might be your clothes are bigger than you think as they're not tight. We notice them being tight more than loose.
It has been a real eye opener I look at size 14 and think the clothes look too small then put them on and they fit nicely. My eyes haven't adapted yet! 😂

The first thing I had to replace were my knickers! Then jeans. Now gradually moving onto a few other bits and pieces but trying not to get too much because I’m hoping not to stop here.

I was doing that too! There was a gorgeous tank top in a 16-18 that I automatically rejected and they didn’t have the 20-22 in stock. But now I’m home, I actually think I should have listened to the sales assistant who thought it would be fine on me.

Coventree · 17/08/2025 06:48

Hope everyone is starting to think through plans for adjusting from September now the shock’s wearing off. I think for me, one of the worst impacts might be on our little community here in this thread if people have to finish prematurely/journeys don’t quite go as people were hoping them to, etc ☹️ xx

I’m considering dropping back down to 5mg to see if I can make my pen last a bit longer. My additional orders from last week are still going through verification so I’m not sure if they’ll get dispatched or cancelled and it’s quite scary looking at monj.co.uk at how quickly the first time purchase discounts have disappeared - how quick the landscape has changed in just a few days.

That’s good to know some healthy habits have remained post-MJ @TheSilentSister! Good luck with the gym.

Well done @Scousebloke 👏 and hope you can sort NHS support.

Get you with your new beach confidence @violetmondays! Love it, and I bet your kids were thrilled to have you play with them 🏖️

How wonderful to have dropped into the next kilo bracket @Zebracat ⭐️

Good luck with that 3st milestone @BeachBodyAim - you’ll be there before you know it!

Great maintenance plan @ymemanresu - sounds very positive, some great habits in place and seems as though you’re all over it 🎉

Enjoy your next hols @Seahawk80 and glad to hear your breaks don’t seem to be impacting too much…hurrah for shrinking stomachs keeping you in line!

Love the shopping stories @Merlin23 and @bridgetreilly! It does take a while for our brains to adjust 😊. I’ve been selling my old clothes on Vinted and using the banace to buy new clothes in bundles where I can so I feel like I’m ‘only’ paying out postage costs. It’s exciting to have size 14s to choose from with half a mind looking ahead to size 12s. But where on earth have all those lbs gone then @Crunchymum 😳…?! Careful @PumpKim, you’ll suffer from droopy drawers syndrome and have them start to fall down on you if you don’t get some new ones 😂

Good luck everyone for the coming week x

Crunchymum · 17/08/2025 08:41

Morning all,

Just touching on what @Coventree said about the price hikes impacting our community, I've noticed a spate of threads in other areas of the forum which I can only describe as "anti obese people". It's been heartbreaking to read some of the disgusting opinions.

One last night was thankfully deleted but even some threads on the WLI board have been 'infiltrated' by non WLI users who seem absolutely gleeful that us poor obese people won't be able to afford the medication that has changed our lives in just a few short months.

I'd encourage you to report anything you feel is inflammatory or derogatory.

For the first time in a decade + on MN I'm feeling hatred like never before.

PumpKim · 17/08/2025 09:48

@Crunchymum I've seen some too, really unpleasant and all seems to stem from a belief that if you're overweight it's all of your own making, but even the community turning on each other over stockpiling. It's all a bit fraught.

Official weigh day for me. 1.4lb off, now securely in the next stone down 🎉
Not quite at 2 stone yet (25.6lb in total) and only one more weigh before my holiday, so probably will miss that first goal I set for myself but not disappointed, it's pretty damn close and I feel a hell of a lot better than I did this time last year

I went back on Medicine Marketplace to see if they had any updates. Used them for my last pen but were out of stock totally when I tried to order my next pen. They have published their September 1 prices:
5mg was £135 now £178
7.5 was 135 now 215
10 was 135 now 239
12.5 was 145 now 251
15 was 145 now 271

I'm thinking I might see about dropping back down to 5mg and see how far I can get in that dose.

Crunchymum · 17/08/2025 10:02

Well done on your loss @PumpKim

Your 2 stone is so close, I'm sure you'll be there very soon.

Thanks for sharing those prices. Seems like the higher doses are the ones that will see the biggest hikes (as expected since the news broke)

I've just gone up to 10mg but I'll consider dropping back down. 7.5mg worked pretty well for me but 5mg was pretty ineffective (and it seems like 7.5mg is where the prices start to shoot up)

Still plenty to think about.

Hawkmoth · 17/08/2025 12:31

Morning all. I'm back to my lowest weight so far, but still have oedema from stopping water tablets. Seeing GP on Friday so see about an alternative that won't deplete Potassium... Don't get low Potassium, I certainly do not recommend it!

Price increases are just mad. I can't see myself going above 5mg for a while yet, but it shouldn't be money that makes that choice for me. What a complete shit show, especially for people like us that are saving the NHS money long term.

Hair loss has kicked in here. I'm going to get some more layers round my face so I should get away with it. Good side effects of POTS is that I can't empty the shower drain of hair since bending down is hard to get back up from. All that extra hair is now DH's job!

Merlin23 · 17/08/2025 14:03

A query about changing supplier
If I order from a new supplier do they inform the old supplier.
Im thinking of ordering from a new supplier then do a quick new order when eligible on Thursday with my usual supplier.
Will they find out and not let me order?
As I have to give evidence of the prescription from usual supplier.
I'm so confused! 😕🤔

Coventree · 17/08/2025 14:24

No, there’s no check between suppliers - they just want to see a recent prescription to make sure you’re not a first time user trying to jump straight in at a higher mg than 2.5. Two suppliers I looked into (but didn’t order with - one was Dr Franks I think) stated they wouldn’t prescribe within two weeks of a prescription date, but others on this thread have ordered within that time scale no problem. They may all send letters to your doctors who might query them but you’ll have the pens by then and can presumably explain the circumstances.

I've ordered a 10mg hope they accept it as hopefully if I get a 7.5mg from my usual supplier, by using the clicks wisely that will see me to the end.
