Two weeks of 7.5 and I can not walk in a straight line, pucking up also. I just can't continue. I have never ever felt so unwell in my whole life. I would wake up and veer sideways, disorientated.
Really don't know what's going on with me but I'm not prepared to wait around and find out, I'm out.
TBH, I lost weight at 2.5 so I'd say it really worked but haven't really had any noticeable affects since moving up the doses,
I wanted to lose a stone and a half. I did that at SW a few years back and it was a dam sight cheaper.
I'm disillusioned
The plus side - I've found a gym very close to me with a state of the art gym, pool, sauna, jacuzzi, personal fitness instructors - all for less than what I'm paying now. I'd be daft not to go for it. I would never have thought of it before, so MJ has give me that boost I need. Yey.

Coventree · 07/08/2025 07:02

Aww, sorry to hear that @TheSilentSister, sounds horrendous. Would you consider dropping back down if 2.5mg worked? But if the gym is going to work for you instead, then good luck with that option 💪. I hope the side effects soon dissipate.

wlinewbie0425 · 07/08/2025 09:05

That sounds horrible @TheSilentSistersorry you’re so poorly. If you still have some doses left you could try creeping up in small increments, but I totally get that you may just have had enough and the gym sounds fab. Best of luck.

And @Hawkmothhope you can see the better doctor asap, sounds really difficult. Take care.

Crunchymum · 07/08/2025 09:22

Sorry to hear of those struggling. I hope you can get some help @Hawkmoth

I hope your onward journey is successful whatever you decide to do @TheSilentSister

Finally bit the bullet and weighed in after a very indulgent holiday and I'm -2.5lbs on what I weighed the day we went away. Not quite sure how but I'll take it.

-31.5lbs in total now in 15 weeks. BMI less than 30 for the first time in a decade (just - BMI is 29.5)

Still can't quite believe I'm half way there!!

Coventree · 07/08/2025 11:07

That’s brilliant @Crunchymum, absolutely amazing 🎉👏⭐️. Particularly as it hasn’t been an easy MJ journey for you in terms of suppression (but maybe it’s helped in other ways that has meant you can achieve this level of loss?). Are you still going up to 10mg or sticking with 7.5mg?

My BMI’s 30 today so hoping to join you in under 30 this week 😁🤞

Coffeeandallthebooks · 07/08/2025 11:26

Well done @Crunchymum and @Coventree for your losses and inspiring NSV's!
@Hawkmoth I hope you get some answers from your blood test soon, hoping you feel better. @TheSilentSister that sounds awful to experience and I think reducing or stopping may be right for you- I'm very impressed at you being inspired by the gym time despite everything.

I've put on a pound this week, and found out I have shrunk a cm 😂. So a double whammy of unfortunate events.
I'm happy though as my ds1 got his results and got into the uni and course he wanted, and my dd got her higher results and should also get in next year (we're in Scotland). We went out for a meal to celebrate, hence the extra lb!

We walked there and back and I remember doing that about a year ago and I was miserable, out of breath with heartburn by the time we got home. This time I was a bit cold but otherwise fine, so happy to feel fitter and for life just to be easier even though I have a way to go still.

Edited

My 10mg arrived today but I still have another week at 7.5mg (will take this on Saturday). 7.5mg has been pretty effective weightloss wise but I am hoping for a little less food noise with 10mg. We'll see as I don't particularly want to lose any faster than I am.

Coventree · 07/08/2025 16:04

Oh dear @Coffeeandallthebooks! I’d forget all the numbers and concentrate on your walking success - the numbers will catch up! Enjoy all celebrating for your kids successes ⭐️

And of course you need to be our 10mg test case @Crunchymum…it’s a very important responsibility 😂

Ricoletti · 07/08/2025 18:48

Hi all, sorry to hear about horrid side effects and poorlies, sending love and hope you feel better soon.

well done in the losses to all. Fabulous times!!!

Ive finally FINALLY hit the 2 stone loss mark, hurray!!!! I’ve actually officially lost 2 stone and 1 pound as of today.

not the kind of NSV that I ever want again, but my funeral dress was a size I havent fit into in years… I actually bought a bigger size (brain hasn’t caught up with reality yet) and had to take it back for a smaller size.

so that’s something!

wlinewbie0425 · 07/08/2025 19:25

Congrats @Ricoletti great scale milestone reached and also brilliant NSV with the dress. Hope the day went ok and good to hear from you on here.

Congratulations on joining the 2st club.

I hope your granny's funeral went as well as it could.

Hello all. I locked myself out and took it as a sign that I should take a break. I've been spending far too much time online under the guise of researching important and relevant mounjaro stuff but actually doomscrolling.

Well done on all the losses and NSVs!!
It's so great to see everyone doing so well! 🎉

I'm still on track and doing all the things. I had v good losses the last two weeks, 3.2 last week and 2.3 the week before (I don't know how long it's been since I posted) Total loss is now 33.8lbs and I was very pleased to wear a smaller size jeans this week. Not so good news is my hair is falling out, I expected it to happen and it's right on schedule so I'm trying not to panic about it, I'm eating all the protein and taking all the supplements and have picked out a wig just in case I end up bald but I'm hoping it'll settle down and not get that bad.

AbundanceofKatherines · 08/08/2025 07:41

Hello fellow travellers. Well done on the weight loss, other nsvs and tackling life’s challenges.

Weigh in day for me and I’ve lost very little this week - maybe nearly half a pound, but that could be timing. I think I must be on a plateau, albeit quite a bumpy one. I’ve lost 2st 3.5lbs in total and people are really starting to notice. I feel great, actually feel like I’m a ‘normal’ sized person now! BMI is 25.5 and I’d like to lose another half a stone or so and then see how I feel.

I’m going to move up to 7.5 for the next pen, but I’m dreading feeling like I did for the first 3 weeks of 5. I still have a whole pen of 5 in the fridge, so might play with the dose a bit for the next few weeks. This would be completely contradictory to every opinion I’ve held and expressed re prescription medication and dosing though - so I feel a bit of a hypocrite even thinking about it!

My main problem is that the wine habit is creeping back in. I have so enjoyed being a non-drinker and really wish I could knock it on the head for good 😔

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

My hair is falling out too!!!

I’ve read about this being common 3 months in to rapid weight loss. I’m so sad as I’ve been growing my hair from a years long short style.. and it’s nearly at my chin!

im having college and taking biotin. I’m rubbish at protein and know I don’t eat enough. I take a good multi bit and am experimenting with adding other supplements. Tried zinc but it makes me vomit violently, so that’s off the list!

I’m hoping it is just a big shed , then I’ll have thin hair for a while before it all grows back in. I’ve got some root / cover powder to fill in the thin bits (mainly noticeable at my hairline).

Merlin23 · 08/08/2025 12:56

Love reading all your posts.
A bit worrying about people's hair loss. I've read up on it, and should only be temporary. I have short hair so fingers crossed it doesn't happen!

Week 15 finished
2lbs lost this week.
Takes me to 40lbs lost
No longer classed as obese. Bmi under 30. Yay

Work clothes hanging off me.
Just waiting for my smaller uniform to arrive.
Clothes I bought 10 weeks ago which were tight are now baggy!
So weird looking at clothes thinking I won't get into them and now they either fit or they're too big.

Have a great week everyone.

Coventree · 08/08/2025 13:31

Great weight losses everyone 🎉🎉🎉

Ah, I’m jumping on the hairloss too - had a shower this morning and noticed more hair coming away than usual. How funny it’s kicked in for so many of us at the same time - but fits in with around the 3 month mark (ish) you mention @Ricoletti

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 08/08/2025 16:26

I've lost weight before and had hair loss and also lost loads after having covid, it always starts around three months after so I was expecting it to happen again.

Today is my 100th day on Mounjaro!
I've never stayed on track for so long before, I've been in a calorie deficit for a hundred days and I'm still not hungry, this stuff really is liquid magic!

Crunchymum · 08/08/2025 17:14

@Merlin23 blimey - 40lbs - amazing!! Is that all in the past 15 weeks? That is a very significant loss!!

Yes.
I was losing an average 3lbs a week but that's now slowed to 2lbs. Which is still incredible.
I've gone from a UK size 20/22 to 14/16
I have to force feed myself as I'm not hungry. If I am hungry, I get full so quickly.
I never thought I would have to make myself eat!

Ricoletti · 08/08/2025 18:59

‘Hair loss three months after a significant weight loss is a common experience and is often a temporary condition called telogen effluvium. This occurs when sudden weight loss, particularly through restrictive dieting or surgery, causes stress on the body, pushing hair follicles into the resting (telogen) phase prematurely. The good news is that this type of hair loss is usually temporary and will resolve as your body adjusts to the weight loss and stabilizes.

Hair loss usually begins about three months after the weight loss event.

It's typically most noticeable for about six months.

The hair loss should resolve as your weight stabilizes and your body adjusts.

Hair will eventually regrow to its previous thickness. ‘

I'm so pleased to make you happy after the few weeks you've just been through.
I am enjoying the feeling of wearing smaller clothes, but overall I will feel better once off mounjaro as I think the lack of food plus body working hard makes me tired added with peri-menopause.
I'm really hoping once in maintenance I'll get the energy back. Got to get to Dec/Jan.
I'm then going to join a gym which will be cheaper than mounjaro.

I think I know how you feel , regarding MJ and lack of food and exhaustion.

my suppression has come back in force and I’m struggling to eat more than once a day.

i think getting out of good food routines has really set me back. It’s like when my body is regularly nourished i am more inclined to eat, but after a few weeks of survival I’ve lost my appetite again. I feel so tired a lot of the time.

im going to try really hard to get back into good food habits. Starting tomorrow. Today I ate 6 Quorn nuggets and a dairylea dipper …

Tomorrow !
