Big fail, day after injection yesterday we had family over and ordered fish and chips and I had a small portion,1/3 of piece of fish and handful of chips. For the first time in 15 weeks I felt really sick after and the burps all evening and this morning 🤢 lesson to not chance the fatty food as really was not worth it!!

I had about the same size portion a couple of weeks into mounjaro. I was so ill the following day I've stayed away from takeaways since

@Ricoletti what a lovely, motivational post. Thank you for your support, especially when you have so much going on in your life atm. X

I agree with this. @Ricoletti is a great.

Merlin23 · 04/08/2025 15:28

Big day today!
Officially overweight and no longer obese!

We are all smashing this!

Crunchymum · 04/08/2025 16:59

Thank you @GoGoGovy and @Ricoletti for the support.

I feel like I am always moaning about something.

Back to it all today "proper" and have ordered 10mg as it was time to reorder. Got a price match so I have paid £135 for it which doesn't feel too bad. I haven't paid full price for any pens with Simple Online Pharmacy as there have been discounts / price matches.

Still feeling bloated and gross, but I used to feel like this a lot of the time before MJ as my eating habits were really bad.

Will weigh in once I've had a week of being clean and I'll see where I am at. I am incredibly lucky that before my holiday I have lost each and every week (13 weeks in a row!) so from a motivational perspective I don't want to see a significant gain. Will see where I am at on Friday and I'll go from there.

Anyone else moved up to 10mg yet or will I be a guinea pig again? 😂

Crunchymum · 04/08/2025 17:00

Well done @Merlin23

toobusytoclean · 04/08/2025 18:45

You’ve got this @Crunchymum !

I’m off on holiday tomorrow and have just weighed in under 12stone (11st, 13.6🤣) but this is after some horrific diarrhoea and 2 days of virtually not eating 😞
Friend I am staying with also on MJ so hopefully that will help us both make healthy choices.
I am doing another 4 weeks on 7.5mg, I’m finding the suppression quite strong still

Ricoletti · 04/08/2025 19:09

@Merlin23 this is a brilliant update, well done!!!

@Crunchymum that’s the spirit, back on the wagon! You will be losing again in no time. Oh, I I think maybe you are a guinea pig again, keep us updated!

@toobusytoclean that’s sounds like a really tricky few days, sorry you have been unwell. How fab that you have got an MJ buddy on holiday, hope you have a great time.

I have had a few days of accidental fasting… really really busy and kept putting it off then remembering at about 5pm.

I’m all floppy and feeble now, and I don’t like the feeling at all so I’m off to eat tuna out of the tin like a stray cat to tide me over till dinner time !

My precious and dearly missed grandmas funeral is tomorrow, so a really sad day ahead of me. I hope I don’t eat (or drink!) my feelings too much. My wife will be with me to keep me right and help me to make good choices, and I’m basically just aiming to stay upright and get though the day… with anything else being a bonus!

wlinewbie0425 · 04/08/2025 19:27

Wishing you and your family a lovely celebration of your wonderful grandma tomorrow @Ricoletti

Well done on the new stone bracket @toobusytocleanalthough I hope you are able to eat better soon and enjoy your holiday.

Wonder if you are first @Crunchymumwel done on being our pioneer! I’ve gone back to 5mg again a couple of days early after dropping to 2.5mg for my holiday. Hoping to stick here for a while now but need to see how things go. I just got a 7.5mg pen from Weprescribe but haven’t started the next 5mg one I already have in fridge so plenty time to see. Was impressed with weprescribe so far, felt fairly thorough in checking that I qualify and it’s out for delivery now. I read they can be good for maintenance so happy to be on their books.

Sorry to hear about the chippy making you sick @StartingApril2025

and well done everyone else on all the summer losses and managing to keep on track or maintain/minimise gains around holiday - think how much we would normally all put on at this stage.

past 3 months for us all now - I would love to know how many large people worth of stones we have lost as a collective - I bet it’s loads!!

I hope tomorrow goes as well as it can @Ricoletti

You'll do your grandma proud ❤️

Scousebloke · 04/08/2025 20:38

Hope all goes well @Ricoletti

toobusytoclean · 04/08/2025 20:42

Will be thinking of you and your family tomorrow @Ricoletti .Just remember that the goodbye has happened already and this is the celebration of her life. She will be in your memories forever. We had bookmarks made using the photo of mum from the order of service and the poem that my daughter read on the back. A lovely reminder.

Beachbabes · 04/08/2025 23:13

Thinking of you @Ricoletti stay strong, keep all the memories sacred xxx

Coventree · 05/08/2025 07:11

Hi all, huge congrats on all the losses and NSVs over the last week and a half 🎉 - so lovely to catch up. I agree, @wlinewbie0425, would be great to know how much have we lost collectively…must be a flippin’ shedload!!!

Well done @Merlin23 , amazing milestone 👏

Hope today is a bittersweet honouring of your grandmother @Ricoletti❤️.

Looks like you’re the 10mg guinea pig @Crunchymum…hope this one works for you 🤞.

It’s back to work reality today for me after a week and a bit off. Holiday went really well in terms of suppression - we were in a caravan so I just made sure meals were lots of salads and protein. Didn’t really eat any different to how I would do at home, wasn’t tempted by ice creams/snacks and didn’t feel I was missing out by not having them. Two glasses of wine a day was probably my biggest extravagance. Scales are looking good but we’ll see what tomorrow’s ‘official’ weigh in brings!

Crunchymum · 05/08/2025 07:57

I've still got one more 7.5mg jab to go at the coming weekend but I'll keep everyone posted when I start.

I think regardless of how effective it is I'm going to stick at 10mg as long as I can as I'm absolutely whizzing through the increments and I don't want to get to the maximum dose too quickly.

I feel like quite the outlier as the majority of people here seem to have had long term success on much lower doses (not just on this thread but on others I read too)

dozywelshbird · 05/08/2025 08:05

Hope your grandma has a lovely send off today @Ricoletti and that you can remember all the happy times 💐

Weigh in today and another 1lb off, I'm nothing if not consistent 🤦‍♀️ 22lb in total 😁 got my golden dose today from 5mg pen, will work out what that is, and I have 7.5 pen in fridge ready for next week.

Megsdaughter · 05/08/2025 18:19

After having real nausea on 5mg I dropped to 3.75 for a week, but had no suppression at all. Went back up to 5mg, no nausea but still no suppression. I've done another week of 5mg and I'm struggling. Also only lost a Lb

I've ordered a 7.5, but have two weeks onb5mg left. So I thought I would take the 5mg and then 2.5 of the second weeks. Woukd you change needles after taking the 5mg? Before taking the 2.5 to make it 7.5?

Coventree · 05/08/2025 20:24

Hope today went okay @Ricoletti ❤️ (and if you haven’t done so yet…sit down and eat something 😘) xx

@Megsdaughter I used the ‘golden dose’ to top up my last two weeks of my second 5mg pen to make 7.5mg doses. I didn’t change the needle, but did a normal 5mg dose, pulled it out, then did another 2.5mg. I then used a disposable syringe the following week to extract the final full dose (which ended up only being 7mg, not the 7.5mg). Hope that helps and good luck.

Coventree · 06/08/2025 06:47

Wednesday weigh in time! An amazing (even if I do say so myself) 4lb lost over the past two weeks whilst on holiday 🎉🎉🎉.

Total of 2st 10lbs gone, 18% of body fat lost, and I’ve tipped the balance and now have less to lose than I’ve lost (still another 2st 8lb to go…but one day at a time!).

And the best NSV? I’m lighter than my husband at last 😂

wlinewbie0425 · 06/08/2025 08:10

Well done @Coventreethat’s a whole lot of success! 🥳

@Megsdaughterwhat I’ve learned since being on this (not an HCP) is that it’s always medical best practice to use a new needle for every jab, however in reality when it’s 2 jabs in quick succession on the same person there is no significant hazard. What you can’t do is keep a needle and reuse at a later date as bacteria can grow in it. The alternative if you have them would be just to use an insulin needle and withdraw and inject 0.9ml in one go as that’s 7.5mg from your 5pen. However, a lb is still good progress for a week’s loss. Did you mean struggling with food noise?

Hope yesterday went as well as it could @Ricolettiand you are doing ok.

Weds weigh in for me too (although I’ve completely moved my jab day now post holiday to Sunday I thought best to continue same weigh day for consistency) and lost 1.8lb. I’m actually now approaching a healthy bmi which I could not have dared to believe would be the case by end of summer when we started in April. Will probably have a stall again before I get there but feeing good about current weight so promised myself not to worry if that happens.

Hope everyone’s having a good week.

I've put on 2kg this week. GP halved my diuretic, and from today stopped it altogether. The joys of them seeing your size first... Anyway, keeping on going with MJ so they can't accuse me of overeating when I balloon again. Either the rebound oedema will pass in a couple of weeks or I'll end up in hospital. The only GP who listens to me is on holiday and I see him on the 22nd so I guess I'll have to suck it up until then.

Hawkmoth · 06/08/2025 11:11

Literally suck it up, like a fucking sponge 😢

Coventree · 06/08/2025 16:16

Oh @Hawkmoth that sounds crap. Are there no other doctors you can talk to?

Hawkmoth · 06/08/2025 16:17

@coventree I had bloods taken today so hopefully someone competent will call in the next day or so.
