I think the birthday girl would be appalled at the suggestion her cake gets donated! Time to exercise some restraint, I think. I’ll just have a small piece.

PoisonIvy89 · 01/07/2025 19:36

@Zebracat I'm so sorry for your loss 💔sending hugs x

Coventree · 01/07/2025 19:45

Aw @Zebracat sorry to hear that. Hope the house isn’t too quiet tonight, and the birthday girl enjoys some more of her cake.

Can I ask our few 7.5mg-ers how it’s going? Have there been many SEs? Think it might only be @Crunchymum (I think?) and one or two others?

I bought another 5mg pen last time that I should be taking a dose out of for jab number 11 tomorrow. But there’s just been a growing feeling this week that it’s all gone a bit silent again. I haven’t had a ‘hard stop’ for a couple of weeks, I’ve been able to have a second glass of wine, and there’s a 4pm ‘awareness of food’ creeping in. It’s all nothing major but incrementally feeling like perhaps it’s time to move up. The scales have barely moved this week (well, I did lose a lb after my gentle 💩, then promptly put 2lb on, then have lost 1) so will see what tomorrow morning’s ‘official’ weigh in puts me at. I might use the golden dose to top the remaining three 5mg doses up to 7.5mg, so would just be interested to hear how you’ve found it.

Coventree · 01/07/2025 19:59

And @Lidlbitofmonica, you’re on 7.5mg aren’t you?

And hey, my fruits and fibres cubes have just turned up! Just took one, bit odd, figgy and malty kind of taste. Now need to drink lots of water, apparently!

Yep, I’ve done two doses of 7.5mg. Feeling so much better today but seriously considering going back to 5mg for my next pen, mostly because I’m going on a two week cruise then and can’t face another attack of the sulphur burps when I’m there, even though I’m determined to eat well when away!

sorry for your loss @Zebracat x

Crunchymum · 01/07/2025 20:21

Hello @Coventree

I'm W10 D5 and I've done two 7.5mg jabs.

First week I was a little headachy and nauseous the day after jabbing, second week has coincided with some awfully hot weather (34c today) and i've been struggling with headaches for days now. Not sure if it's a SE or the heat? Or both?

After some really strong suppression, I'm feeling hungry today 😕 😫. Was hoping 7.5mg would do the trick but now I'm not sure. I am back to willpower and it's hard!!

I have two more 7.5mg jabs left but I want to reorder in good time so need to be ordering this time next week? I think I need to go up to 10mg.... I'll jab on Friday and make a decision then.

I'm quite envious of those who have had success on lower doses. I am worried I'll work my way up to 15mg and it still won't work properly for me 😲

Crunchymum · 01/07/2025 20:24

Just to echo everyone else @Zebracat

Sorry to hear about your poor wee doggo. I know how they become part of the family, but it really is the kindest thing we can do. I've had to make the awful choice a few times in the past and I've always been thankful I was able to offer peace. It is the ultimate act of love.

Be kind to yourself ❤

Coventree · 01/07/2025 20:30

Thanks both. I think maybe I will try the 7.5mg tomorrow, see if that gets me back to where 5mg initially got me. I probably need to order my next pen this week/early next week so that will give me chance to see how 7.5mg feels.

Really hope it kicks in for you @Crunchymum…you’re doing way better at not whingeing about it than I did on 2.5mg not working 🤣🤞❤️

I haven’t experienced the joys of the sulphur burps yet @Lidlbitofmonica …and I suspect I probably don’t want to!

ymemanresu · 01/07/2025 21:05

Sorry about your little dog @Zebracathow old was he and what was wrong? I still really miss all my dogs and cats who have passed on, i think about them loads and even dream about them ❤️even the ones from when i was a child.

It took 3 dulcolax and a suppository this morning to get things moving 🤦‍♀️ Definitely not moving up to 7.5 as i’m sure it would get worse and this must be so bad for my bowel.

Had a NSV, a lovely unworn long purple flowery summer dress with the tags still on fits perfectly now. It’s our wedding anniversary tomorrow so i might wear it when we go out. Going to delay tomorrow’s jab until after the meal so i can enjoy a pizza and some wine.

Zebracat · 01/07/2025 21:30

Aww thnks for the kind words. He was a lemon beagle, between 12 and 15 years old. He had cancer. He was a very humble , jaunty little dog, never showed an ounce of aggression. He had a passion for socks. He had awful separation anxiety unless it was him doing the leaving when he would go off on a beagle adventure without a second thought. We got him from a not very nice rescue 7 years ago, he was thin and scarred and frightened, we thought he was really old, but he got younger with every meal and bath. Our adopted Dd chose him and they helped each other heal. We loved him so much.

ymemanresu · 01/07/2025 22:36

He sounds like a treasure @Zebracat sending lots of love.

catchingzzzeds · 02/07/2025 05:46

@ZebracatI’m so sorry 😢 I’m so glad you found each other though, it sounds like you were the perfect match 🐶 💙

It’s weigh in Wednesday for me and I know there are a few of us. Really pleased but quite astonished to share that my semi plateau/several very slow or maintain weeks on scales have broken quite significantly and I’m 4.6lb lower on scales than last week. (Week 10 weigh in - just taken shot 11)That’s more in than the previous 4 week’s weigh ins combined and only high loss I’ve had other than week 1.

it really illustrates to me that even those weeks with a maintain or tiny loss we are making progress as I’ve not made any significant changes to diet or exercise this week or those weeks. So the large drop this week doesn’t concern me as it spreads out to still be a sensible rate and I know it won’t repeat next week.

it also takes me a tantalising 0.2lb away from the next stone bracket which I would love to be in for my holiday at end of the month. The scales did that thing where they flicker over the lower stone number!

Hope for some scale and non scale victories for our other Wednesday weighers today but if it’s not what you hope - woosh is probably coming soon 😃

@wlinewbie0425 4.6 llbs woweee 🤩Isn’t it great when you’re almost on the next stone down borderline! Bought any new clothes for holiday? Where are you going?

PeachSnail · 02/07/2025 07:15

Well done @wlinewbie0425! That's really encouraging to know you can get a whoosh like that after slow / no loss for a few weeks.

MJ isn't just great because of the appetite suppression - it gives you the confidence to know that if you just keep at it and trust the process, you'll eventually see the losses.

In the past, I probably would have got despondent and gone off track if the numbers on the scale didn't shift in the right direction.

Here's hoping you see that new stone number on the scale soon! ✌️

thank you 😀 a very chilled Mediterranean sunshine break this year - I had been dreading it a bit, but now feel ok about getting back into swimwear. Because my weight gain is relatively recent (4 years) I do still have holiday clothes and swimwear that I expect will now fit again, I never bought any bigger ones I just stopped swimming and haven’t been anywhere hot in that time either. Shopping for some celebratory new stuff is a great idea though.

i was just thinking that too @PeachSnailweight loss is always non-linear but the difference is with mounjaro is that when you have the frustrating weeks it’s just won’t let you binge and give up. I went to the supermarket one night when I was really despondent and my binge attempt was pitiful! I had half a pack of stuffed pasta and then had to stop 😂

OP posts:
Coventree · 02/07/2025 07:26

Well done @wlinewbie0425 👏. Fingers crossed you reach that next stone bracket for your hols! Has your level of suppression stayed the same during your plateau? I think I’d be happier to to stick with 5mg if I felt it was still working, even if the scales weren’t shifting, but I can just feel the non-effectiveness starting to creep in around the edges.

Weigh-in time for me, but 0 loss this week so still exactly the same (but as mentioned, have lost a lb, put on 2lb, lost 1lb across the week so not static!).

🤣🤣🤣 I think you’ve answered my question here!

Coventree · 02/07/2025 07:38

Oh and (sorry for another post!) the fruits and fibres cube hasn’t worked yet…

dozywelshbird · 02/07/2025 10:05

wow, what a whoosh @wlinewbie0425 enjoy holiday clothes shopping 😁

@Coventree that's very frustrating, but stick at it and you'll hopefully get a whoosh soon too

I have been feeling very nauseous and extremely tired since I took 6.6mg (golden dose) on Monday but I also have a root canal infection that I just started a course of antibiotics for yesterday that could also be contributing - but all in all I feel bloody awful 😔making myself eat as I can't really face anything

Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day, I've called in sick and I'm off back to bed for a few hours to see if I can sleep some of the pain away

OMG are you ok after 3 dulcolax?! I take one … two max as a nuclear option and I get such pain and cramping from them. They are very effective for a clean out though.

I’ve found a good balance of taking one sachet of Movicol every other day. I’ve found If I stop this / miss a few days I get bunged up and have to take drastic measures!

Hawkmoth · 02/07/2025 17:34

For weight in Wednesday, I've lost 2kg this week and, more importantly, done a spontaneous poo 😁
