toobusytoclean · 02/07/2025 20:25

@Hawkmoth me too!

OMG are you ok after 3 dulcolax?! I take one … two max as a nuclear option and I get such pain and cramping from them. They are very effective for a clean out though.

I’ve found a good balance of taking one sachet of Movicol every other day. I’ve found If I stop this / miss a few days I get bunged up and have to take drastic measures!

Hi, yes, unfortunately my constipation was that bad before MJ. 3 dulcolax now doesn’t bring on cramps, it just gets things going. Not healthy or normal i know but neither is being constipated for a week 😢

toobusytoclean · 02/07/2025 22:37

I’m also finally able to join the 1 stone club with my official She Med weigh-ins. With injection 11 this evening I have officially lost 6.4kg. 💪🎉

I’m glad you got some relief friend. I’m sorry it’s so tricky with the poo’s at the moment! X

It’s so exiting to see your shape changing isn’t it?! I caught sight of myself the other day when I walked past a mirror and was like.. whoa.. where’s upper belly shelf?!

well done for your progress, I bet you look amazing!

PoisonIvy89 · 03/07/2025 00:25

@wlinewbie0425 that's a fab loss, well done! fingers crossed for that next stone bracket by next weigh in

I never bought any bigger ones I just stopped swimming
This reminded me of a song I heard recently which got me all in my feelings. I'm sure many of us mums have said to our kids "I'll just put my feet in the pool/sea". My mum and my grandma always said it when I was little and I never understood why they wanted to sit at the edge and not play in the water. And then I grew up and had a kid and said exactly the same damn thing.

My worth is a number I’ll never get under 😢

@Hawkmoth excellent loss well done! and congrats on the poop too!

well done @toobusytoclean stone award for you 🏆

Coffeeandallthebooks · 03/07/2025 06:51

I think I had the unexpected late side effects this week (9) that some people had mentioned experiencing.
Was out for lunch, had massive heartburn. Hardly ate anything, then threw up in the loo and my sisters had to call my DH to take me home. It was out of nowhere and my side effects had settled down, so hope it doesn't happen again.

I have lost 3lbs this week though, so 21 overall which I'm quite pleased about.
It wasn't due to being ill as it was like that during a sneaky WI earlier in the week, so I'm hopeful it will stay lost!

Well done for everyone having a victory again the evil forces of constipation! @ymemanresu 3 dulcolax!! You poor soul, it puts my issues in perspective.

@PoisonIvy89 that is so true, I do the same. They are teens now so if they can be persuaded back to swimming I'm going in with them and enjoying it before they finish growing up. That line definitely got me in the feels too.

GoGoGovy · 03/07/2025 07:18

Morning all.

It’s my 2 month anniversary today 🎉. Was hoping to reach that mystical 1 stone weight loss, but only got to 13lbs. DH has helpfully suggested I just go for a poo, to get to target. If only it was that easy!

Feeling positive. Just ordered the next pen up and have been approved. Was expecting to be asked for new photos, but no, they just approved it.

NSV ( sort of) yesterday. A colleague had her Next sale preview invitation, so we spent the afternoon browsing (err, working 😉). I have just ordered some holiday clothes in the next size down. A NSV because it shows that my mindset has changed and I actually believe this can work, even though it’s very slow progress…

Anyway, enough of my boring waffle. Well done everyone on your amazing losses. Love reading your updates.

i made the mistake of reading this thread the other day and I’m really not fancying the idea of taking it now 😂www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4621791-to-think-dulcolax-are-the-work-of-the-devil

The fruits and fibres cubes were mentioned in this Dulcolax thread @PoisonIvy89. They’re meant to help speed up the transition of 💩 through you…I’ve eaten two so far with no result as yet!

Coventree · 03/07/2025 07:54

Hope the SEs are okay today @Coffeeandallthebooks.

And well done @GoGoGovy…nearly at that 1st mark 👏🎉 and hurrah for sizing down in clothes 🌟

Great work @toobusytoclean👏👏👏

Oh gosh @PoisonIvy89…what an emotional song 😢.

May we all gleefully jump into the pool this year or next without a second thought x

Seahawk80 · 03/07/2025 08:22

Hi everyone, just had a mega catch up, 99 posts! Been crazy busy at work but happy to report that I lost 3lb this week! Next week I am not expecting much though after 2 work dinners and lunches out 🙈. Well done to all on their losses and good luck to all with 💩 struggles!
@Zebracat so sorry to hear about your lovely dog x
@wendywoopywoo222welcome! I have also totally gone off sweet things!
@RicolettiI saw you mention getting movement into your day. I use apple fitness plus and get in a 10 minute strength work out when ever I can. I aim for 3 a week minimum. I sometimes take a 10 min break around 11am when WFH and I feel so much better and more focused afterwards. You can filter by amount of time, type of workout, music and trainer and focus eg lower body. It really helps and for £10 a month it’s worth it to me and so much better than searching through YouTube and sitting through ads.

@PoisonIvy89 That post made me think 😢 So true isn't it.

Sheldon4k · 03/07/2025 08:57

Just checking in after a couple of busy days . I felt so tired last night and fell asleep early, meaning I slept through my jab time. Therefore I am going to be a day late having it this evening. Weight wise I have met my goal of 1st7lb loss before I go away, which is good. However im torn between which clothes to take. Usual shorts are very loose on the waist (yet have belts). Newer ones in a size down fit well now... but with 4 weeks off MJ (see below) and some possible weight gain and bloating from flights (we have 11 flights), im wondering if they will become tight and uncomfortable. Maybe need some of each.

After a few weeks of feeling really tired, I have made the decision not to take MJ on my travels. Therefore I am going to lower my dose to 2.5mg for the next few weeks to minimise the levels slowly before I go. Then I will start again on 2.5 moving back up to 3.75 when I get back. Its inevitable that I will put some of the weight back on but with exercise and conscious choices I am hopeful I can minimise it. I might indulge in a couple of cocktails though whilst away as I havent had any alcohol since I started MJ.

I will be able to report back at what 4 weeks off MJ does and how the food noise etc reappears as it will well and truly leave my system.

@Zebracat sorry to hear your sad news x
@Coventree im looking forward to hearing the updates re the fibre cubes as im not a dulcolax fan, after having 2, I had the 💩 for 2 weeks!! 😱🙈 so I really need something a bit more natural. I have tried lots of supplements that promise regularity but to no avail!

Sheldon4k · 03/07/2025 09:41

Also... I was supposed to ask, to anyone who has been using shotsy app, do you pay attention to your percentage loss?? I know there are numerous sources quoting losses expected by certain weeks but I seem to keep seeing for weeks 9-12, average of 9% - 12% overall loss.
So as disheartened (for myself, but totally excited for the poster as i do feel as a group we all celebrate each others wins even when being a little peeved with our own journeys at times) as I have been seeing others breaking the 2st etc at times, we do all need to look at other signs...
Im at 13.4% loss and about to take jab 11.. so in the grand scheme of things i actually see that as a huge achievement (clearly a stat i havent been following).

PoisonIvy89 · 03/07/2025 17:46

well done @Coffeeandallthebooks @GoGoGovy @Seahawk80 @Sheldon4k

@Coventree thanks will go find and give them a try, fingers crossed for you

@Sheldon4k interested to hear how it goes when you reduce the dose and take a break, good luck!
I'm Wk9D5 and shotsy tells me I've lost 8.9% of my body weight so far

Coventree · 03/07/2025 18:13

These were the ones I got @PoisonIvy89…I’ve had three so far and no movement yet 😬. They’re basically squashed dried figs, rhubarb and tamarind so make sure you don’t mind those tastes/textures.
https://amzn.eu/d/5NsxZy1

PoisonIvy89 · 03/07/2025 18:21

@Coventree oh thanks, that's cheaper than holland & barrett 😘

Ricoletti · 03/07/2025 19:51

Hey, what’s the consensus on the fibre cubes? They are expensive! Are they worth it or is it pretty much just compressed dried fruit?

Coventree · 03/07/2025 21:01

Yep, just dried squashed figs, rhubarb and tamarind. I’ve just eaten my fourth and have had zero movement so far…so my research isn’t yielding great results yet, but maybe tomorrow will be the day!

Ricoletti · 03/07/2025 21:02

Hmm. That’s not sounding very productive (sorry 💩) I might just try harder to eat figs and prunes…. 🤷🏻‍♀️

SassyLimeHelper · 03/07/2025 21:14

Hi everyone, sorry to hear so many of us are still struggling! I think I've found a solution this week, as prunes and psyllium husk make me gag and none of the tablets I've tried make any difference. I've been making big batches of pickled cabbage salad and having a portion with chicken for my lunch, then again as a side for my dinner, meaning I'm getting about 7g of fibre per serving. Then, before bed, I'm having a 2.5ml dose of dulcolax liquid. I've been to the loo 3 times since Monday - which is unheard of for me!
It really feels like the blockage is actually moving now too, rather than mainly liquid from the suppositories/laxatives. Sorry, I know it's TMI but I can't describe the relief! I haven't had this kind of movement in months, even before MJ.
