I think I need help to eat more. My appetite really is non existent at the moment and I’m not even reaching 1000 calories. I’m not deliberately restricting myself but I simply have no desire to eat and when I do, I feel as though I can’t take much. It’s like my brain is telling me I’m full even though I cannot possibly be so. I’m feeling quite achy too which is probably lack of calories as I have a fairly active job and do 12-15K steps a day. I am drinking lots of water and what I do eat is either yoghurt, fruit, chicken or fish with a little green veg. No carbs really. Not sure what to do. I’m W1D5 so still only on 2.5!
Id be grateful for any advice!

Like you said, you need to eat more. The idea is to see food as fuel, we still need a certain amount to function fully.
are you taking any supplements? A lot of people take collagen.

maybe set alarms to eat, add some carbs in and keep chugging fluid!

Re water, I have tried to drink more but the constant loo visits just drive me insane. Is this just to avoid constipation? I keep reading that people recommend water for quicker weight loss…🤔

I read once that your body will get used to the increased water consumption and the need to pee will reduce when it figures out how much it needs to retain and flush the rest

EmmaPoppins · 13/06/2025 07:18

I've been drinking more water but didn't realise 3 litres was the magic number, thanks for sharing, I definitely need to drink more!

Re. alcohol I had a few drinks last Friday and Saturday, but nothing crazy and no hangovers. I've bought some mini bottles of Prosecco/wine to try and keep me on the straight and narrow (well ish!) I know normally if I have a 'big' bottle, I'd drink it all, so it's progress.

I did notice I didn't lose any weight over the weekend although I lost 5lbs over the week so perhaps if I had abstained I would have lost more!

katand2kits · 13/06/2025 07:20

Hello all. W1D5 here and it's definitely taking effect now. Didn't have much suppression at first but stuck to diet anyway. Suppression kicked in yesterday, I was so bloated I couldn't eat any dinner and just had a little sandwich at 9pm. Awful constipation is the only side effects I've noticed, but I took some medication for that last night and I feel much better this morning!

healthjourney · 13/06/2025 07:31

@BadgerFaceand any other people needing a sharps bin. My provider didn't send one but I went into my local boots pharmacy and they sold me one for about £1.75! When it's full I'll have to arrange collection from my local council apparently but I think some pharmacies or doctors surgeries will collect/exchange too.

SomethingAboutYou · 13/06/2025 07:40

W2D7 here, just weighed, 1.5lbs off this week 🎉 will be taking the next dose this evening after taking the kids to their various sports classes!

Asda have updated my order this morning to say processing times is now 4-6 days due to high demand so I'm glad I ordered plenty in advance!

SW: 101.7kg
CW: 99kg

Total loss of 6lbs in 2 weeks 🫶

Happy with that, I've eaten healthily but also had a snack or a treat if I fancied it without being out of control binge eating 🥳

Thanks @wlinewbie0425 this is super helpful advice!! It’s also very exciting to hear from people a few months ahead on the journey!

Great tip @healthjourney on the sharps box, thanks!!

ArwenStewQueen · 13/06/2025 09:05

Argh - third jab and I’ve PUT ON WEIGHT! 🥺 No fair!

Hope you’re all okay, and any tips/insights gratefully received!

ArwenStewQueen · 13/06/2025 09:06

Also - and sorry for being dim - but what is the golden dose I keep hearing about?

FirstDayonthePlanet · 13/06/2025 09:26

Morning! I just took 2nd dose last night and lost 3.8lb in the first week which I’m thrilled about.

I posted last week that I couldn’t feel any appetite suppression and it ‘wasn’t working’ but obviously it was it’s just quite subtle and I guess I need to be hit over the head with a brick to notice things 😂

The biggest thing for me is that I’m choosing what to eat not being led by cravings. Still can choose nice tasting things that I enjoy - but consciously thinking “I’ll have protein porridge which will keep me going until lunchtime, and add some nuts/seeds topper and raspberries for fibre” rather than just main-lining buttery toast.

Yesterday I chose to have a triangle of Toblerone, enjoyed it, but then could easily leave it at that.
The week before I would have had 4 (mindlessly consuming 800cals) and had to get my husband to take it away from me to stop.

FirstDayonthePlanet · 13/06/2025 09:34

MadlyTrudyDeeply · 12/06/2025 21:22

I bought a special (to me) 1 litre sippy cup. The straw makes a difference, I don't know why.

Third jab is due Saturday - when would you reorder?

Me too - I bought a ‘built in straw’ water bottle and it helps me drink so much more.
my previous one was a screw top/chug type one and apparently I’m that lazy that the act of having to unscrew the lid, put my head back, and take my eyes off what I’m doing was too much of a barrier. It was also hard to drink when walking.

Also I love the aesthetic pretty new bottle and feel fancy carrying it around 😁 My tween daughters are eyeing it up though, so I’m not letting it leave my side!

baggybags · 13/06/2025 09:34

Woke up feeling real physical hunger pangs today but mentally no cravings which was odd. I had a bowl of cereal straight away & having some yoghurt now.

baggybags · 13/06/2025 09:35

@FurryAnimal some days I have made myself eat.

cigarsmokingwoman · 13/06/2025 10:32

W2D5 and I feel like the suppression is wearing off but 3rd jag isn't til Sunday.
I think I'll go up to 5mg once the month is out as I am not convinced the weight loss is due to the jag or just healthy eating. The weight loss has slowed down a bit this week too (I'm one of those weighing every day!). However, DHs friend has just started 5mgs and reports terrible nausea and diarrea.

My understanding is the only way you lose weight is through less/healthy eating or exercise. The jab essentially just suppresses your appetite.

Is anyone else thinking differently?

This is me today too!

It’s how I’ve wanted to feel naturally for years!

PuppyHerder · 13/06/2025 11:48

@Sideorderofchips - Yes, I am feeling light headed when I get up every morning. Think it might be a blood pressure thing for me as although overweight, it's always been on the low side. It seems to pass once I've had something to drink.

Shwingbada · 13/06/2025 11:52

That's my understanding too @UglyBastardFace. It's a tool or support rather than a magic pill. Basically, if you have a calorie deficit then you will lose weight, whatever you are eating, and this helps that be possible for those of us that struggle to control our eating. With variables for water retention/constipation etc. But there seems to be a benefit in the drug countering inflammation too, which maybe helps with weight loss.

Is anyone else having benefits beyond weight loss? I usually have IBS, with explosive diarrhoea once or twice a day, and that has completely stopped. Slightly constipated but that's hugely preferable to my usual situation. I think possibly I've felt brighter/more cheerful, but that might just be the relief at the prospect of being lighter and healthier.

Sideorderofchips · 12/06/2025 23:17

On the water front I have a 2l water bottle with a straw on my desk at work and one at home.

I find i drink more water that way

I've caved and ordered a 2l bottle with straw and timings in the side. Will reserve my old 300ml metal water bottle for when I'm out!

I'm quite partial to a can of pop and would normally use that to up my liquid intake, but they just don't appeal at the moment which is good. And bad as I'm just sticking tomplain water which is pretty boring , although enlivened with some chopped up fruit. I've set a timer for every 30 minutes to have a chug and am hoping for at least 1.5l today!

I love mine and you can fit ice cubes in it and fruit if you want flavoured water. I swear by mine as it seems I drink it without thinking

Yes I ate my breakfast and it passed. Had some nausea this morning at work but putting that down tk heat as well

Yes my joint pain which was so horrible I'd take to bed has all but gone. Am wondering whether this is because I am drinking more and the effects of proper hydration. Either way I'm 😁

theaveragewife · 13/06/2025 12:30

Weird side effect - my Apple Watch notified me of a higher walking heart rate for the last 7 days. I think I’m due on (peri) so it could be that but either way it has slightly stressed me out. Anyone else experienced this?

DD517 · 13/06/2025 12:33

W1D3 - definitely ate a lot less past two days. Haven't really felt hungry, but did find myself eating some biscuits earlier. Managed to stop at 3 rather than eating an entire pack so that's a win :)

Dellabella83 · 13/06/2025 12:48

W1D6, due second jab tomorrow night. Yesterday and today some food noise has come back. I’m sat at my desk right now after having a high protein lunch and l, physically, am stuffed but mentally, I know I have a yummy protein bar in my bag. Sipping on black tea and water until the urge passes. Hopefully suppression will increase again after second jab.
