I bought a special (to me) 1 litre sippy cup. The straw makes a difference, I don't know why.

Third jab is due Saturday - when would you reorder?

How do we get the 5th dose out? I’ve heard of people doing this.

I have bought insulin syringes and using one of your alcohol wipes ....wipe the red area and withdraw the liquid.0.6 is the normal amount for a 2.5 dose.
In the earlier days of the pens I believe people could twist the amount out but not possible now.

BonjournoMonjourno · 12/06/2025 21:36

How is everyone planning on disposing of the sharps container when it’s full?

How is everyone doing in the water intake front? I'm really struggling to get in 1L never mind 3L! I'm trying consciously to drink more but it is a struggle.

I've developed an obsession with lemon and lime sparkling water, I'm easily chugging 2L of that a day, plus other fluids like coffee etc.

I just ordered now, will be taking 3rd dose tomorrow. Asda says it will take 3-4 business days to look at it, so not expecting it to arrive until end of next week when I'll be using the final dose so hoping all goes well on the delivery etc.

Decided to stick with 2.5mg as I've not been devouring sweet stuff and not had side effects either. The food noise between meals was a little more on week 2 (I'm w2d6) but using a bit of mind over matter has easily stopped things from going out of control (that usually doesn't work!) so I'm feeling quite comfortable on 2.5mg and losing weight at a slow but steady pace.

Checking in…. Tiredness is a killer isn’t it. I’m a tired girl anyway yet this is next level 😴💤 could sleep for a week

Cocopuff · 12/06/2025 22:06

Just posting to bookmark this thread. Injection 3 tomorrow morning.

Mumofboys2006 · 12/06/2025 22:17

Hi can I join? I did my first jab last Friday and am due my second tomorrow! No major side effects this week. A bit of nausea and was extremely tired after a gym session yesterday but otherwise all good.
Eating around 1000 cals a day sometimes less sometimes a bit more. Don’t think I’ve lost any weight yet but will give it a month. Hate weighing myself anyway so don’t intend doing so too often 🙃

I think you can take them to a pharmacy or GP?

I’m channelling my inner teenage girl and keeping a mega Stanley with me at all times. The ease of drinking through a straw seems to help!

Wondering how everyone is getting on now with their alcohol relationship? Especially everyone that also had a concern with it.

Great idea re the straw, I think I’d drink more that way - no idea why though! 😁 I have definitely seen a difference in how I feel about alcohol, we’d had become real weekend creatures of habit with wine and I really haven’t fancied it. I’ve never ever had that problem before. I had a glass on Sunday with a roast and happily left it at that. Unheard of but am fascinated by it (and grateful for the reset).

I am necking a pint of water when I wake up and then at various points throughout the day when I remember to try and hit 2L. Not sure I even get near 3!

W3D1 has gone well, no side effects, no snacking.

@theaveragewife I feel a bit like I failed on alcohol last weekend as I drank Friday and Saturday but not as much as usual, no associated snacking, no hangovers and no carb loading the next day so maybe not so bad. I am out for dinner tomorrow night and have two work events next week including a wine tasting so have to try for moderation over abstinence for now!

I’m a bit scared of trying to use insulin syringes for the golden dose - are the needles bigger than the ones which come with the pens?

I also need to source a sharps bin…

I've just completed my first week with no weight loss. This is despite peeing continually on day 5 overnight. Should I be worried?

SirHectorDoolittle · 12/06/2025 22:32

Thank you @SomethingAboutYou for the new thread! Great support on this group!

I’ve had a good W1D2 - no big SEs and an amazing drop in food noise. I’m able to eat but don’t have any inclination to do so. Drinking lots of water to keep the dreaded constipation at bay (so far so good 😆) and keeping my protein level up. If anything, I felt fatigued mid-afternoon but otherwise feel normal. So thankful about that. Hope you are all hanging on in there too!

That doesn’t sound good (the peeing through the night) Did you drink lots of water late in the day? Lots of people in lots of diets don’t see a big number on wk1 but then see a significant shift in wk2. Have you felt suppression @ellerman ?

ThisNeedsToWork · 12/06/2025 23:05

I think I need help to eat more. My appetite really is non existent at the moment and I’m not even reaching 1000 calories. I’m not deliberately restricting myself but I simply have no desire to eat and when I do, I feel as though I can’t take much. It’s like my brain is telling me I’m full even though I cannot possibly be so. I’m feeling quite achy too which is probably lack of calories as I have a fairly active job and do 12-15K steps a day. I am drinking lots of water and what I do eat is either yoghurt, fruit, chicken or fish with a little green veg. No carbs really. Not sure what to do. I’m W1D5 so still only on 2.5!
Id be grateful for any advice!

Sideorderofchips · 12/06/2025 23:17

On the water front I have a 2l water bottle with a straw on my desk at work and one at home.

I find i drink more water that way

NeedyTiger · 12/06/2025 23:20

I just completed week 2 had my 3rd injection today some days I hit my calorie deficit of 1200 with a couple over deficit but some days I barely hit 800 I'm also struggling to drink water but I'm trying , the slight nausea has worn off now and no other SE so far but I find by day 5 of both weeks I'm starting to think about food more often , but what I didn't think about was portion control I have been plating up same size meals but obviously healthier choices with more protein but this week especially last few days I'm finding I'm filling up a lot faster so now I have to think about portion size too , I have decided to move up a pen because I don't feel much suppression yet and not much loss but I'm hopeful still .

Welcome @Mumofboys2006!

The needles are tiny (says she who hasn't done it yet). I was a nurse and administered these a lot and the patients used to say they hardly felt a thing but I must admit it's a bit unnerving to be on the opposite side.
My sharps box came with my first order (Med express). Perhaps someone else could recommend? I would think a pharmacy could provide one but unsure if they would charge.

Mumofboys2006 · 13/06/2025 05:34

Re water, I have tried to drink more but the constant loo visits just drive me insane. Is this just to avoid constipation? I keep reading that people recommend water for quicker weight loss…🤔

reversegear · 13/06/2025 06:09

I have my pen and starting tonight, I’ve had a hetic week and I thought if I do Fridays I can at least spend the weekend with any SE. I’m aiming lose 8-10kg I have the most stubborn body that clings onto the last weight so I thought at just over 30bmi i would see if this helps. I’m usless at water drinking so it’s great to hear how important this is, I’ll make sure I get my 3 ltrs in.

is anyone micro dosing? I’m cautious and thinking I may just fall short of the full 2.5 dose and build up even more gradually.

That will pass. Its whilst you get rid of water weight

Has anyone else been lightheaded first thing in the morning?

Welcome @Mumofboys2006!

Hello - popping over from the late April thread as I saw your new thread - congrats on starting this journey it feels like yesterday ours did and already we are all seeing amazing progress, lossses and NSV, you are only 2 months or less away from same 🙂

for the needles, most of us have ordered from UKmedi or another online medical supplier, advice is to avoid Amazon as whilst you can get the right needles you can guarantee they are sterile. You can also order a sharps bin from UK medi (I had to do this as didn’t know anything about sharps bins and accidentally locked my MedExpress one before I even used it!)

these are the ones I got and work perfectly. The needles are a little longer but still barely feel it. https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/1ml-8mm-30g-bd-microfine-syringe-and-needle-u100-bd-320935-ukmedi-co-uk?_pos=2&_fid=c60d5e381&_ss=c

search sharps bins and wipes on there too and read some of the old threads for the tips on how to get the fifth dose out smoothly - it’s really easy and I think this is so much safer and reliable than forcing the pen as you know exactly how much you get.
