Welcome one and all to our latest thread!

So much support and encouragement on here. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s continued achievements and NSVs.

Congratulations to everyone who has reached their goal and starting maintenance, and all the warriors still trekking on.

I still have a couple of stone to go. Feeling motivated and ready to go!

We can do this!

I am so disheartened - I haven’t lost anything now for 6 weeks. I have 3 more pounds to go to make it a 2 stone loss on MJ - 3 stone overall: and I was going to treat myself to a massage.

I have just taken my 3rd 7.5mg dose, and it’s working fine. Has anyone else gone a long time without losing anything and then started losing again? 😔

It's hard but don't let it get you down. 6 weeks makes it a plateau and how to break it depends on why it's happening.

Because you've lost a considerable amount already you might need to look at your calories. As you get smaller your calorie requirements are also smaller.
If you are already eating a very low amount of calories then consider upping your exercise to increase your deficit.
You could also try having a week at maintenance or even calorie cycyling, it can sort of trick your body into a "whoosh" and you'll trigger a big loss.
If you're eating enough and maintaining a deficit then I would just wait it out. It could be hormonal, muscle gain, water weight. It's frustrating but the weight will come off. You've got this!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 05/06/2025 17:37

@PerditionCatchMySoul it's hard to say from your post what could be the cause. How is your diet and exercise? Are you measuring?

Spent a whole day sitting in an office chair with my legs crossed underneath me as though I were sitting on the floor. My thighs no longer hit the desk!

CoolLimeSheep · 05/06/2025 19:36

Erggghhh!!!

Just come home after bumping into Mil. Her friend has just admitted to her she's on wli. Apparently she's had loads off side effects, hair falling out and she looks "unwell". Very negative attitude towards it all.

I haven't told a soul I'm taking them and I'm wondering if it's time to come clean? Mainly just to prove it's not all bad! Like my hair isn't falling out and I've had very little to no side effects. They've all been impressed with my weight loss but I think if I now say something they'll be looking for anything to be negative about it.

On a more positive note, I went real life shopping this week and was so nice to be able to go into moat shops, try stuff on and then actually buy it!!

Well done all on fantastic successes 🎉

I'm.surprised people are been so negative about it 🙄 I just normally get comments like everybody's on them. I'd just keep it to yourself. I'm terrible im like a walking mounjaro advert at times coz it's really helped me and going from hardly able to walk cause of weight to walking up snowdon has boosted my confidence.
It is lovely to buy some nice new clothes so enjoy
Your doing brilliant 👏

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 05/06/2025 20:53

@Marypoppinsisnosaint Remember once you've said it it's out there and there's no going back. Would they believe you?

I've not told anyone either and even though there's several people in our families who may benefit from wlis, I've decided to keep quiet and if they decide to go on wlis I may tell them after they've started.

MissionToSize10 · 05/06/2025 21:14

Im keeping mine quiet. Im losing slowly so i doubt people will twig

Thanks for the reply. I am an avid exerciser, and I enjoy getting a proper sweat on, I always have done. I spin, I run, I do body pump. I guess perhaps I’ve had a few glasses of wine more than usual the last few weeks (nothing this week though!), but it’s fairly depressing I can’t even do that and continue the weight loss 😭

I’m off to google calorie cycling…. I’m sure these plateaus are why so many people just give up. It’s so disheartening and feels like you’re fighting a losing battle.

I didn't think I had fat feet but apparently I did - having to wear extra pairs of socks with some shoes.

I may need to get new smaller shoes eventually

Yep. Me too. Freaks me out if I’m honest….. what happens if I do lose more weight…?! Will I lose a shoe size?!!

I was thinking about this again and actually when I was in my late teens/early 20s, I guess I was a 5.5 or sometimes a 5 but then I gradually started to take a 6 most of the time. I think I assumed my feet had just grown half a size or so as you do keep growing a little at that age. But apparently I just had fat feet!

Have you considered going up to 10mg?

I don't know if it will work but that's what I have done.

Not a full on plateau for me but a huge slow down in my already not that fast weight loss - 4-5lbs down in the last 8 weeks.

I think I have also got a little sloppy with my diet - not had sufficient focus on fruit and veg

strongermummy · 06/06/2025 02:57

Yep, I think losing a shoe size is possible. I used to be a size 7 but actually over the years it's somehow become that I'm generally an 8. Which is a bit annoying because I've recently bought some 2 pairs of v.expensive boots and some trainers with the view that I'm investing and will have them for years, it's worth paying more for quality, etc. Thick socks!

Febnewbie · 06/06/2025 07:59

I think on plateau stuff as well, I think I am struggling a bit with motivation and belief

Motivation in that actually I am rather enjoying being this size, I feel loads better overall and am back in some of my favourite clothes. I guess I don't really think losing the next stone will make as much difference as losing this one did.

Belief in that I don't really believe in my heart of hearts that I will ever get down to my goal weight.

I don't know exactly what I do about this as I do intellectually still think I should lose at least one more stone - my BMI is 29 and I am still carrying a lot of weight around my core.

For now my approach is more or less - continue with project rediscover my joy in clothes and take pride in my appearance, go up to 10 mg, be more mindful of fruit, veg and protein intake.

Ke11 · 06/06/2025 08:49

Morning all, weigh in day for me, gone up to 10mg today.

Sw:116.5kg
Cw:92.6kg
Total loss so far: 23.9kg
Loss this week: 1.9kg - part of this has to be from dropping the effect of the takeaway last week.

All good this week again, hoping for minimal side effects since I did an in between dose last week.

Went to the cinema this week and saw the new mission impossible (decent btw), 3hours long and no snacks at all, just a Pepsi max, took a fidget toy to keep my hands busy which helped the snatch craving quite a bit.

usedtobeaylis · 06/06/2025 09:49

I've just realised that I don't seem to be dreaming since I started taking Mounjaro, or if I am I'm not remembering them. Considering I've had vivid dreams all my life that's weird, and weirder that I didn't even notice the absence of them!

MissionToSize10 · 06/06/2025 12:21

-1st 9lbs overall
2nd week of 7.5mg

TheYouYouAre · 06/06/2025 14:23

Any ingenious ideas for hiding an MJ pen in the fridge? We’ve got family housesitters staying whilst we are away this weekend, would rather they didn’t see it. Pen was meant to arrive next week but it came today. I would hide it out of the fridge, but I’m not going to use the full pen up in the next 30 days.

I’m the opposite. Crazy vivid dreams on jab day and the few days after.

Did it come in chilled packaging? If it did and it only came today, stick a cool block in it before you go, its only 48 hrs, itll be fine in the chilled packaging as it will stay cold

I’d say if you’re still loosing weight had already have nausea, I’d wait before increasing the dose.
If you go to 10mg, you’re likeky to get even more side effects. I’m not sure it’s worth it.

MyHouseInThePrairie · 06/06/2025 15:06

Btw @CoolLimeSheep well done for your weight loss! It’s given me a boost to see how well you’ve done when I see how much I needed and still need to loose.
We started from a similar ish point. So it’s helped me see the long term vision. Thank you.

And then pop it in your bedroom drawer. Sorry forgot to add that! It will be ok out the fridge for 48 hrs

CoolLimeSheep · 06/06/2025 16:04

@MyHouseInThePrairie thank you. I agree with you im going to order some more 7.5mg next week and just keep going with that for now. I started off originally thinking I just wanted get rid of 6 or 7 stone or even just to be able to walk everywhere. But now I think it's possible to actually get to top end of healthy bmi which is 10 stone 5lb for my height. I didn't see alot of change with appearance for a while so my friend said to start taking monthly before and after pics if that helps any of you and it did help me.
It really is possible and im glad I have helped you. Here's my before and after upto now

We're actually away for 4 full days so not sure this will work annoyingly! Think I'm just going to hide it right at the back of the fridge in a sealed bag and hope they don't look too closely. These family members are particularly weird about weight and eating (love a bit of food guilt), and would definitely be judgmental and think WLI are the "lazy option" 😬

Could you put it in a tomato puree box at the back of the fridge/buried in the veg drawr and make sure there's another tomato puree open and more visible to hand in case they need to use it?! Failing that if they do see it, try to ignore any judgement - it's their issue, not yours.
