Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

We're high on protein, low on carbs, upping the water and getting the fibre in any which way we can!

Please don't post discount codes as your post will be deleted - these need to go on the discount codes thread.

@MabelSpan it's posts like yours that give me hope though!

We are starting weight twins 😊 I'm just starting week 25 today, so really hope I'm somewhere near where you are at week 45! It can be done... 💪

Youre doing fantastically well my lovely Twin! At 25 weeks I weighed 16st 11.2lbs, so I think you are ahead of where I was!
Just keep on keeping on and you will get to your goal😊

RobinEllacotStrike · 30/06/2025 17:31

I'm always missing jag time 😁
I started out on a Tuesday and over the course of 10 months I'm now back to a Tuesday jag - but I've cycled a full week of pushing back timing for travel etc.

MooBaggage · 30/06/2025 20:50

I'm 16st 7lbs - just obvs wishing the lbs and time away...!

Must try to find the virtue they call patience... 😄

I feel the same - 16 st 2.5 - its coming off 1 pound at a time - and I actually gained a little last week. Its frustrating.

Evenstar · 30/06/2025 21:53

I am around 16 stone 1lb, a lot of us seem to be around that weight.

NervyWegovy · 30/06/2025 23:34

So my first 0.5mg jabs going well no side effects but took my nephew mini golf and broke my wrist! Now in a cast for the foreseeable future.

My slimming world consultant annoyed me today as it says I put 2lbs on and ive got a cast and swelling and I said I had a magnum yesterday and a plate of chips after it happened but had been good for the rest of the week. She basically dismissed it as if id been bad saying to put on a lb id have to have eaten 3500 calories extra at least etc

NervyWegovy · 01/07/2025 02:00

Oh and TMI but I hadn't had a poo since it happened either

I’m currently 16 stones 6lbs. So also similar.

only another 5 or so stones to go……..

InfoSecInTheCity · 01/07/2025 06:59

@NervyWegovy your slimming world consultant sounds like an idiot! Chug plenty of water and if there’s no medical reason not to, make sure you take some ibuprofen for the inflammation and pain. I’ve broken my wrist before and while the cast helps a lot I still found the first few days uncomfortable. If you can make sure you keep your fingers flexible, it’s easy to get into the habit of not using that arm/hand at all, but you’ll get bad stiffness if you don’t keep your fingers mobile and that can end up taking a while to improve if it gets bad. I had a couple of small balls, ping pong size but heavier and would roll them around in my hand.

I am now 3lbs away from the arbitrary ‘ultimate goal’ I set myself, the ‘unachievable, never going to happen but needed to have something in the box’ goal that I added to my spreadsheet nearly a year ago.

Not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand, HOLY SHIT I’ve actually done it, on the other hand I still feel flabby on belly, back and arms but a lot of that is skin, on the extra hand I wish I had I feel like I need to do some proper thinking and set myself new ‘non-scale’ goals. I’m happy that I better understand the diet side of things, I have a routine and have adapted to be able to make better decisions on the fly when out and about so I don’t go crazy. I still adhoc the exercise though and just kind of wing it without any structure.

Im signed up for the Million Steps challenge to raise money for Diabetes UK which means I HAVE to do at least 10000 steps a day for the next 3 months.

Timetofindme · 01/07/2025 07:37

@NervyWegovy just ignore the sw consultant! Of course a cast weighs something, plus swelling etc. And weight fluctuates - I'm a daily weigher and sometimes on official weigh day I'm a pound or two up from a low earlier in the week and drop again the next day. Its about overall trend you're never going to have a consistent 'each day I will weigh less than the day before'.

Timetofindme · 01/07/2025 07:43

Ive been fairly absent from this thread, still recovering post surgery and struggling a bit as I can't weigh (whopping boot on my leg and when I've tried standing on one leg my scales say error probably as I'm wibbling about so much) and I basically have to do as little walking as possible and also cant do any of my regular exercise.

I also am not really cooking or prepping food for myself (bar the odd thing) so feeling quite out of control without those things in place. I also went through a phase of real boredom and was eating sweets although I've hidden them out my sight now which seems to have done the trick.

Im still reading and it's great to see everyone's progress and the encouragement people are giving each other. Fingers crossed I can get some normality back soon and get properly back on this journey with you all!

Timetofindme · 01/07/2025 07:44

@InfoSecInTheCity great challenge! Keep us updated how you get on, walking is such great exercise!

MooBaggage · 01/07/2025 08:47

@NervyWegovy Just ignore your SW Consultant - your body will be adjusting to having broken a bit of itself, never mind the cast etc. And this hot weather definitely doesn't help with weight loss - I weighed myself this morning and am 3lbs heavier than I was a few days ago, which is bonkers, as I'm sticking to my usual food and usually lose 2lbs a week - so I'm not even recording the gain!

I feel all swollen and hot and bothered, so am putting it down to either fluid retention or maybe a virus, as I feel a bit shit too 🙄

@NervyWegovy I think the thing wjth being on the MJ for the long(ish) term is that you start to really tune in to your body - you'll know when weight on is 'real' or not. I hope you manage with the cast and your wrist heals OK!

@Darlinghagso interesting, I’m not on tictok (too old), but definitely addicted to my phone since starting this. Have never put 2+2 together really!

Crikeyalmighty · 01/07/2025 09:01

@NervyWegovy it’s clearly bunkum as I put a kg on a few weeks ago in space of a few days ( it was hot) and yet had eaten strictly to 1300 cals a day plus a dance class -

MooBaggage · 01/07/2025 09:06

👋@Timetofindme ! Hope the operation went well - how long do you have to have the boot on? I'm not surprised you're out of routine - hope you're OK and managing with it in this heat xx

MooBaggage · 01/07/2025 09:09

Yep I'm another phone addict - Instagram for me - although the stuff I get now is mainly all around GLP1 and weights stuff 🙄

GiveMeWordGames · 01/07/2025 09:41

I'm addicted to here since starting MJ.😅

@NervyWegovy your SW consultant sounds like a judgy, ill-informed idiot quite frankly. Sorry to hear about the injury and I hope you heal fast.

I'm mainlining water but there's no way that this level of heat doesn't mess with weight loss. And I like hot weather, but it's killed my motivation to exercise stone dead.

Morning ladies

20.5st/ 288lbs/130.6kg
BMI 47.7
First 2.5 Dose 02/01/2025

SW 20st 5lbs
CW 15st 12lbs (Wk 26)
TW 12st 7lbs

Loss Total 64.2lbs

All good and going in the right direction. I had been very good about hitting my fibre and protein goal, but the protein has slipped and now I'm loosing my hair. I've got a lot of hair so not totally awful, but enough to be a bit of a worry.

How much protein are you all eating a day? is 100gms enough?

NewbieMJ · 01/07/2025 09:45

Well done everyone. This place is the best - so inspiring reading everyone's success stories!

I thought the scales were never going to shift, but I can report, at last, that I have entered the 13's. Woo hoo. I am hoping this is the start of a mini woosh, as I have been absolutely fastidious and now swimming regularly and the scales have been stuck and refusing to budge.

My scales are saying another notch down in visceral fat, so that is great and I am not losing any muscle so that is great too. The very strange thing is, that despite no loss on the scales, my shape is changing and I can actually see that some fat is no longer there (measuring now too, and losing inches - especially off my waist, under bust and (Thank God) my belly). So for anyone feeling despondent re actual weight loss, do get the measuring tape out as it definitely helps keep motivated.

I think I am possibly the slowest loser here, but on I plod

SW: 18 stone 11 (263 lbs)
CW: 13 stone 13 (195 lbs)

I still have 9 more weeks to get to my 1 year anniversary and I was hoping to make it to 6 stones off, but think that might need tweaking.

I am now on 12.5mg (MedExpress insisted I go up, which is fine by me as I was on 10mg for ages), but I still have no suppression, so I think it is safe to say I am one of those MJ'ers that just don't get suppression. It suits me though and I am so in the groove with it all. I also forget about my injection day from time to time!

Onwards we go lovely losers.

Darlinghag · 01/07/2025 10:11

@HumBumBum I’m too old for tiktok and yettttt 😂

there is definitely a correlation, for me. I have always been bad with my phone but now worse than ever. I need to take the plunge and delete my worst apps for it tbh!! But i know i will find something else!!

its ruined my attention span and patience too!!

The rule of thumb is 1g per kg of body weight so you're about right. The hair loss is likely telogen effluvium and is triggered by dramatic weight loss. It will come back.

Timetofindme · 01/07/2025 11:23

@MooBaggage hopefully only a couple more weeks. Its pretty awful in the heat! Although a lot longer til back to normal activities, I have to be patient! Not complaining really though, the surgery needed to be done and definitely the right thing to go ahead long term just need to get through this bit! Hopefully some weight loss by the time I'm able to get back on the scales haha! This heat is probably helping as its killed my appetite although I probably need to get my protein up to help with healing!

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 01/07/2025 12:00

Thanks @VelociraptorsVelociRapping

I've got really dark hair as well so it just seems like a lot in shower when I wash it.

I've just bought some hair skin and nails vitamins to help - it will probably do nothing but at least I'll feel like I'm doing everything I can!
