Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

@QueenOfHiraeth I will definitely look into that as I agree with you about what to decide to eat everyday!
I am cutting down on my fruit and only eating apples which the diabetic nurse said was ok,as well as my meals.
Thanks @SilenceInside I'm hopeful that it will make a difference my eating small meals throughout the day.
😀

Hotflushesandchilblains · 10/06/2025 19:46

Thanks @ChazsBrilliantAttitude - I was struggling with how long it is taking me, but its really good to hear from you and make myself a bit more realistic.

CurlsandCurves · 10/06/2025 20:21

@QueenOfHiraeth decision fatigue, yes!! Lightbulb moment for me, thank you!

This is exactly what I’ve been dealing with. Evening meals I just cannot decide what to have, will I be able to eat it, will I like it now my tastes have changed, etc. And then I just can’t be bothered and pick a few cold bits out the fridge.

Tonight I tackled it by sticking with my first choice from a few hours ago, jacket potato with beans and cheese. Ate 3/4 of it and it was delicious!

If I wasn't motivated I would be after today sat on the dining room chair and it broke...

akaFrosty · 11/06/2025 10:52

@NervyWegovy bless you. The chair was broken before you sat on it Flowers.

Wk14 5mg
SW 15st 8.5lbs
CW 13st 13.2lb
Loss this week 3.3lbs.

Very pleased with this week's loss after a 1lb gain last week. Ecstatic see a 13 on the scales! Haven't seen that for at least 5 years.

I've had a good loss this week, but I've been really struggling to stick to calories. Food noise is back, particularly in the evenings. I've upped protein to 125g, upped water to 3l, eating all the good stuff but I'm hungry. It's kinda nice having a normal appetite again and having more food choice, but it's a struggle to stay within cals.

I have 2 doses left of a 5mg pen. Should I up my dose? Or stick with 5mg until my weight loss slows down? I don't want to move up the doses too quickly, but I don't like feeling hungry. Any thoughts and advice please?

Zebracat · 11/06/2025 10:59

Help! I don’t feel well. I look really dehydrated with bags and shadows under my eyes, but I have been drinking water. I feel a bit nauseous and swimmy, but I have been able to eat. I have a kind of pressure headache . This is the 2nd day. Mostly I feel weak and shaky. Pretty sure it is the MJ. Don’t know what to do, I am sipping electrolytes. Is there anything else that might help?

Have you eaten anything? Definitely eat something, if you haven't already. Water and Electrolytes also good.

If it doesn't ease off then contact your provider and/or GP.

I'm in a similar boat and have decided to move up to the next dosage. I've got one more week of 7.5mg and have a 10mg pen waiting.

I'd order the next pen up and if its too much you can just do fewer clicks.

Zebracat · 11/06/2025 11:54

@taylorswift1989 Thanks for responding. I have eaten. I had more breakfast than usual as I thought it might help. I feel bad because I am missing Tai chi, I’ve only been doing it a month, but it’s helped my bad back so much. And I can’t swim today, but I like to go every day. Really don’t want to replace a food addiction with an exercise addiction. Just need to accept that my body is telling me to rest.

Could be the MJ, could be a virus there seem to be a few making the rounds at the moment. Lean into fat and protein, can you have something like peanut butter on toast, it’s great for energy and if you are fighting illness your body will need some calories to help it.

Then just keep up the water and make sure you listen to your body and rest up.

thanks for the info about using Chat GPT @InfoSecInTheCity

I never use AI but that looks super useful. I told it to include pomegranate and 🥝🥝 every day too. I'll play around with it some more this evening

Cantwaituntiltheyareover · 11/06/2025 14:56

This is probably a stupid question but considering how I would titrate down when it comes to it....If I have a 7.5 pen, is 40 clicks the same as having 5mg and 20 clicks the same as having 2.5mg?? Don't want to order a lower pen then wish I didn't, and probably have a pen in hand as it were anyway :)

SilenceInside · 11/06/2025 15:06

@Cantwaituntiltheyareover yes, you’re correct. It’s 60 clicks for a full dose, so 40 clicks is 2/3rds of a dose, and 20 clicks is 1/3rd of a dose. Giving you 5mg or 2.5mg as 2/3rds and 1/3rd of 7.5mg respectively.

Cantwaituntiltheyareover · 11/06/2025 15:11

@SilenceInside
Thank you...I thought about it then really doubted myself :)

taylorswift1989 · 11/06/2025 15:43

Am I being ridiculous? Weighed myself today and I've lost 2 stone since my first weigh in, which was a week into starting MJ, so towards the end of March. I feel disappointed at how slow it seems to be. But then 2 stone in 3 months isn't bad? Maybe it's just a bit demoralising as I still have so much to lose - another 6 stone to get to upper range of healthy BMI. I don't know - just feel a bit down about it all. Going up a dose might help I guess.

TwoBlueFish · 11/06/2025 15:53

That’s a healthy wait loss @taylorswift1989 , 2lbs a week, well done. I do understand where you’re coming from though, I’m taking my 4th dose on Friday (2.5mg) and am only down 4lbs and have over 5 stone to loose. I’ve been really good, logged everything, drunk loads of water, etc and it’s just a drop in the ocean. I’m not giving up though, hopefully 5mg will give me a bit of a boost. I’ve also set myself a small interim target of going below 100kg as that seems more achievable.

you totally didn't break the chair - it will have been on its last legs (literally!) way before you sat on it today!

I went to an airbnb a bit ago with the boyf and we broke the bed on the first night there 🙈 I obvs blamed myself - and he's my size so we're hardly tiny things...

I emailed the owner to confess and she replied to say that previous people had reported the same problem - the slats moved and often broke/fell through - I was really cross! We got a refund and went home!

But it's so normal to blame ourselves for anything like that - a lifetime of being big and the shame that goes with it - but we shouldn't - it could/would have happened to anyone xxx ❤

@taylorswift1989 2st in 3 months is better than “not bad”, it’s great. But I absolutely know what you mean about still having a way to go and feeling a bit meh about it all, when you’ve got a lot to lose. I’ve definitely had those feelings. I have to have lots of mini goals to keep me motivated and give me something to focus on, then celebrate.

It’s been said here before I’m sure, that the time will pass whatever happens, so the losses will keep adding up and before you know it your final goal will be quickly approaching.

2 stone in 3 months is really good - 28lbs in about 13 weeks - definitely 2lbs a week which is what MJ says is a good weight loss.

I wouldn't increase the dose if your food suppression is under control and you are losing at 2lbs a week on average. You want to keep the dosage increase as slow as possible if you've got lots to lose (I tell myself this every week!) and I would only move up if the food suppression is waning and you're finding yourself starting to eat unhealthily and/or not losing anything for a while.

Have you got a long term calendar plan re: your weight loss? I'm finding this is helping me think in long term rather than shorter term. I've worked out that to get to a BMI of 'healthy' will take me until August 2026 and I've mapped out what that looks like each fortnight, based on losing 1.5lb a week. It's keeping me calm that I'm on track and if it all keeps working OK, I'll be there in 14 months' time. Interim targets along the way help motivate me from week to week, but you have to take a longer - lifetime - view on this.

Eugh - I hate that feeling! I turn to protein shakes when I'm feeling really rough but know I need calories/protein.

Keep drinking water - maybe add some cordial - gets me through when water tastes rubbish!

Hopefully it's not a bug and you're feeling better soon xxx

I started on 19th March so similar to you. I've lost 1st 9lbs, so you've lost more than I have. We just need to keep going. It's difficult when you read others losing really fast, but you're doing great and losing at a healthy rate.

taylorswift1989 · 11/06/2025 16:17

Thanks all - I know i should be celebrating but it does feel like a long way still to go.

I've ordered a 7.5mg pen but will probably go up to 6mg first. I get barely any suppression on 5mg and by the end of the week I'm struggling! But like you say, don't want to increase the dose too fast and maybe if I'm still losing on 5mg it's a mistake to increase at all. But I figured that I could get 6mg from a 7.5mg pen and have an extra dose from it too, so hopefully that will work out for me!

Interim goal is to lose another 3 stone which will take me down to the weight I was last time I lost significant weight. At that point I was wearing size 10/12 clothes but still needed to lose 3 more stone to get in my healthy BMI range.

QueenOfHiraeth · 11/06/2025 16:18

@akaFrosty Is this your first 5mg pen or a later one? If it is your first I would stick with the 5 and try to ride this out as you are not supposed to go up faster than 4-weekly, if it's a subsequent one you could use some of your "extra" dose to increase to 6.25 for a couple of weeks. I'd go to 7.5mg for next pen either way

QueenOfHiraeth · 11/06/2025 16:21

I've just had to order from a different supplier as my normal one is out of stock of 12.5 and 15 and the one I had planned to move to anyway is also out of stock.
Am I the only one who finds this nerve-wracking? I don't know how people move every month!

MooBaggage · 11/06/2025 16:24

My MJ journey is going well, so I have very few regrets, but my big one is moving from 2.5mg to 5mg after the first 4 weeks - I had brilliant suppression and was losing at over 2lbs a week, but was following the rules! I really didn't need to... I was then quite poorly and took a while to settle and the weight loss slowed down - have gone up a bit over the past few months, to 6.25mg which seems to be good for me. I also have very little suppression at the end of the week, but think of it as an exercise in seeing whether I have any self control...!

I think the dosage is probably the most tricky part of it all - trying to figure out what our bodies actually need..! I have a fear of getting to 15mg and still having lots to lose, which is probably why I'm wittering on about it 😃
