Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

We're high on protein, low on carbs, upping the water and getting the fibre in any which way we can!

I'm feeling v sorry for myself - am poorly with either a stomach bug or some kind of reaction to food. I tried eating peas on Friday night - have reacted to them in the past, but was hoping my new cast iron stomach since starting MJ would be able to handle a few peas in a stir fry..!

Haven't been able to eat without running to the loo since yesterday first thing. Am all shaky and I think very dehydrated as not even water is staying in me very long 🙄

Am off to bed to try to sleep!

Oh you poor thing, hope it passes quickly and you'll feel better after a sleep

GiveMeWordGames · 08/06/2025 13:48

Oh no, @MooBaggage that sounds really grim. 😪 I hope you can stay hydrated and things settle down soon.

akaFrosty · 08/06/2025 14:21

Sorry to hear that @MooBaggage
I hope you feel better soon Flowers.

Amarajean · 08/06/2025 14:29

@InfoSecInTheCity I really am only eating fruit! I have tried to eat food, especially food I liked pre mj. Nothing seems to stay down! I'm going to have a protein drink now and see how I get on with that.

Thanks all for your kind words and advice! 🙏

OnwardsDownwards · 08/06/2025 15:38

@MooBaggage sounds horrible, hope it settles soon!

https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1A4fZzobYU/?mibextid=wwXIfr saw this video and couldn’t resist sharing it. Pretty accurate!

Please do remember that, while these things can happen, it is really not sustainable in terms of your health to eat (or not eat!) like that for long so you may need to discuss options with your provider.
I have heard of people being advised to reduce the dose, to extend the time between doses or to split the 2.5 weekly into 1.25 every 4 days but you would need advice on it

QueenOfHiraeth · 08/06/2025 19:29

Hope you feel better soon @MooBaggage

alltablenochair · 08/06/2025 22:21

Oh no @MooBaggage sorry to hear you're feeling unwell. You probably already know this but if you are reacting to peas then be careful with other legumes, especially lentils. Cross reactivity to foods can and does happen (guess how I found out the mould in blue cheese is penicillium roqueforti!!!)

@Amarajean if MJ is making you feel really unwell and you're unable to tolerate anything then in the first instance you need to get in touch with whoever providing you with the MJ and tell them.

MooBaggage · 08/06/2025 22:29

Thanks everyone 😍

I've had a ton of sleep, water and have tried a bit of food and all seems OK..!

Great that I'm starting to feel better, just in time for work tomorrow 🙄

I always get ill on weekends and annual leave, it’s like my body says ‘ah brilliant I finally have time to deal with that bug I’ve been storing in the corner, right out you come little buggy and let’s get this over with’.

MooBaggage · 09/06/2025 05:00

Jab day today so I weighed myself:

SW 13.1.25 20st 3lbs BMI 43
CW 9.6.25 16st 10lbs BMI 35.6

49lbs off in total (thank you stomach bug for 1lb off over the last few days 🙄) and I now weigh 234lbs, which is a very pleasing number 😊

Next stop, to get under BMI 35, then get to a 4 stone weight loss. I remember when I joined this group in January, reading about some people who had lost 4 stone and just not being able to get my head around such huge weight losses and now I have it in sight too. Such a headfuck!

Weekly weigh in and 0.6 lb lost this week

Starting weight - 217.5 lbs - 15 st and 7.5 lbs - BMI 33.1
Current weight - 147.3 lbs - 10 st and 7.3 lbs - BMI 22.4
Total loss - 70.2 lbs
Goal weight - 141 lb
Left to Lose - 6.3 lb

Reginaphalangeeeee · 09/06/2025 07:50

Sorry to hear you have been unwell @MooBaggageand I hope you are feeling better.
You have stacked up impressive weight loss figures!!! Congrats.

@InfoSecInTheCitysoooo close now. It must feel great!

I have a long way to go still and thinking I maybe should have joined the 9 stone to loose club after all but I like it here… and now, have 5 stone to loose so it's fine.

Started 7.5mg yesterday
SW Jan 136kg
CW June 111kg
25kg down- yay me!
Another 0.5kg and then will be my 4 stone milestone.

I can't imagine another 5 stone TBH.
This week I have noticed saggy upper arms. Not sure if it is loose skin or the fat getting more squidgy as it does before you loose some.

Any bingo arms advise? Feeling a bit ‘flappy’

Sam187 · 09/06/2025 08:17

W1D7 - weighing this morning before my next jab this evening.

SW Solo: 119.9kg (18st 12lbs)
SW MJ: 117.6kg (18st 7lbs)
CW: 114.9kg (18st 1lbs)
Lost so far: 6lbs (MJ) 11lbs (overall).

Very pleased. Took me 4wks to lose 5lbs on my own (which is why I included it above) and I've lost 6lbs in my first week on MJ. Have felt good all week, other than being really bloody cold 😂.

Here's to week 2! 🎉

@MooBaggage Glad you're on the mend! Your loss is amazing 😍

Weights, weights, weights! Whilst my arms are slightly flappy still, I am sure they would be worse had I not used weights throughout (I started MJ 30th of Jan). I’m not anywhere near where I want to be scales-wise yet but I can’t recommend getting into a good weights routine enough. It helps with so many aspects of losing weight.

MooBaggage · 09/06/2025 08:42

@Reginaphalangeeeee Yes definitely hand weights - honestly is making such a difference to my arms in particular - but now also my legs due to kitchen squatting!

I started with 3kgs - bought from Decathlon - and do 10 minutes maybe 4 - 5 times a week. Nothing too crazy and can be done at home whilst watching telly 😀 If you

I've got 5kgs now - got them once the 3kgs felt 'easy' and I wasn't as out of breath when doing stuff. They're ace and my muscles feel warm after I've done 10 minutes! My arms have definition for the first time in my life - when I flex, I can see things under the skin 😮 I follow a few people on Instagram to give me lifting ideas - once you watch one, you'll get loads on your feed. I follow julesfitfromladder and simplyfit.bylauren and a few others. I like danielfrstretch - makes me laugh.

The 3kgs are in the kitchen so I can do squats with weights when I make coffee - there is no escape from hand weights now!

GiveMeWordGames · 09/06/2025 09:47

Joining in the hand weights chorus. Years ago I bought some 1, 3 and 5 kgs off ebay, then never really used them and hid them away in shame. Dug the 1 and 3s out first and DH just fished the 5s out from the garage. I probably do about 20 minutes, 3-4 times a week but that also includes squats holding a weight. The rest is all arm work.

Brilliant losses @MooBaggage and glad you're feeling better. And excellent start, @Sam187 That first whoosh is great.

12th Jab day and also visit pharmacy for next pen day too. I'm exactly 2 stone down at 15st 4 so that's a nice place to be at 11 weeks. I'm still debating whether to move up to 7.5 or not. I shall see what the pharmacist thinks. Not sure. Dither, dither....😁

MabelSpan · 09/06/2025 10:29

Glad you are feeling better @MooBaggage

@Reginaphalangeeeee I thought my arms were doing ok, until I caught sight of myself leaning forward! They look dreadful. Gravity and weight loss are an awful combination. I have hand weights but I have also got a set of bands which I now prefer. I clearly need to use them a lot more.

@Sam187 Congrats on a fab start! Long may it continue. Shivery goosepimples drive me mad!

RobinEllacotStrike · 09/06/2025 10:40

I swung by the doctors surgery with DD this morning & weighed myself while I was there - wearing the same dress I always wear to weigh there (though I haven't used their scales for a few months now)

The machine measured me 2 cm taller - improved posture from all the yoga I guess. these machines often measure me taller.

This is important as according to my new height I am now BMI OVERWEIGHT!!!!! BMI is 29.4 & "overweight" - my starting BMI was 41.5 "morbidly obese".

SW 124kg
CW 90.2 kg
LTD 33.8kg

Starting height 173cm 5'8"
Current height 175cm 5'9"

In other news, I don't really walk very much. I cycle, but not much walking. Last night I walked down to local pub for a drink with a friend - 15 minute walk down there & I walked really quickly feeling strong. Coming home its all uphill and I live on top of a very steep hill. Walking home I powered up that hill so fast I couldn't believe it. Not only am I lighter I am stronger. It was a magnificent feeling having these strong legs carrying me uphill all the way home in the same time it took me to walk down there.

I'm 57 and I'm feeling as physically fit & strong as I have ever been. I am so thankfuk for this.

I'm starting to think about doing C25K again.

RobinEllacotStrike · 09/06/2025 10:44

I have loose wrinkly skin on my ams too.
Sometimes at yoga when the light catches my arms when I'm in plank or similar I take fright - who's are those & why are they so shrivelled?

I also have some loose skin on my neck, thighs & belly. In the scheme of things its not too bad.

I keep forgetting to take my collagen, but I am skin brushing regularly & moisturising and taking flaxseed oil supplements. The skinbrush/moisturinging/Flaxseed oil got me through 2 PG's without stretch marks so I am hoping it will help with WL skin too.

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 09/06/2025 10:52

Heading into week 24 on my 3rd and final 7.5mg pen - one more dose left. I have ordered a 10mg pen because I didn't feel like I have had much suppression in the last couple of weeks.

Admittedly I had my period last week so was actively hunting food, but I have also had a busy week and weekend. I ate cake Friday and Saturday and had a full on roast yesterday.

So was very surprised when I hopped on the scale this morning to see what the damage was and it flashed up 16st 4lbs - a loss of 3lbs!

Maybe it was all the dancing on Friday night - at one point my watch asked if I wanted to record my workout 😂

Darlinghag · 09/06/2025 11:00

Congrats to @RobinEllacotStrike @MooBaggage @InfoSecInTheCity !!

I’m going to move my weigh in logs here to to Sundays as its jab day, but as I am officially back in the game today, will do yesterday’s today!!

I am now 14st 0.2lbs!!! So close to get into the 13s!!! I’m not sure really what the loss is, given I am all over the place, but I think its clear my gains over holiday was water! I last weighed on here at 14st 3, back on the 24th I think!

The notable target here is that I am now class 1 obese!! My BMI is 34.8!!!

Some things to note:

  • I need to think about targets for the next few months, as I’ve gone through all the significant dates in my calendar for the year haha!
  • The 8mg dose still works well, when I am in routine. I don’t get total suppression for long, which is suiting me, and food noise is gone most of the week - maybe 5/6 days. Once I’m out of routine though, its much harder for me to stay on track.
  • I’m noticing a touch of loose skin on my neck/chin area - really hope that goes!! Loose skin on inner thighs remains hideous 😭
  • I’ve developed a ridiculous aversion to any slightly ‘not right’ tasting dairy, can taste it even in coffee and cooked foods. Milk that is definitely not off can taste horrid a couple of days after opening!!
InfoSecInTheCity · 09/06/2025 11:13

My midsection and thighs look like I’ve melted @Darlinghagi have noticed my neck skin is getting better though, weirdly the thing that seems to be making the biggest improvement is over the last couple of weeks I’ve been using the clearasil pads twice a day because I was getting a spotty chin like a teenager and my skin looks fab. They’re the ‘visible results in 4 hrs’ ones with salicylic acid (I think I’ve spelled that right’ not sure it would be workable to scrub my whole body with them though so might look to see if there’s any body cream or wash with similar ingredients.

RobinEllacotStrike · 09/06/2025 11:16

congrats @CanIGoHomeNowPlease

I also went dancing on Friday night - sober dancing!! It seems to be a thing now and I love it. Our local one is called "Ecstatic Dance" and I think there are similar groups all over the country.

We danced for 1.5 hours - no talking, no phones, just dancing. There is a fab DJ, and we had a guest drummer this session adding some beats. Its very freeing to dance like this, and I really love having space to wildly wave my arms around! Many people come on their own. Its very liberating & I'm making new friends through it too.

Its like a really fab fun exercise class - together alone dancing, lots of space and freedom & I feel fantastic afterwards. Home by 9pm. yeah!
