Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Have brief access to WiFi , so quick hello 👋 and well done 🥳 to all - huge congrats to you @Mounraine what an achievement. Also @GherkinsOnToast - love the user name, though maybe not that food combo ..

Hope I’m doing ok, there are various scales available but don’t know how trustworthy they are.
Also having more red meat than I would even in pre-MJ days, which I don’t especially like but difficult when you’re not in control of the catering.
Suspect I’ll be “onwards and upwards “ until mid-July ….

ElsieJay · 13/06/2025 09:44

@Fatrosrhun - very envious of your theatre trip, am a big fan of that book also.
Far superior to The Kite Runner IMO.

Hi all. W6D1 here. I stretched the last interval between jabs to 9 days and have decided to only inject 2.5 mg ( a half dose of the 5mg pen) as suppression still super high. Have lost 7kg since starting early June which is great. The shotsy app is saying I'm averaging 1.33kg per week which I reckon is more than fast enough. I started on a relatively low BMI due to arthritis so am mindful that it's a relatively high percentage and want to avoid a rapid loss.

Delighted with it all so far. It takes effort and a lot of planning to eat properly and enough nutrients but so worth it. Well done us. ❤️

Mounjaronew · 13/06/2025 10:11

6 weeks since starting and I am 1 stone lighter. I am very pleased. It has changed how I eat. I think that those changes will be permanent. I can’t see me going back on Pizza’s and take aways once I stop the injections. I have around 1 more stone to lose so hopefully in 2 months I can wean myself off the drugs! Using this method to improve lifestyle is crucial I think. Instilling good habits with eating and exercise and enjoying those changes will mean that i don’t relapse hopefully.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/06/2025 10:25

Jab day today and I'm scared. Someone hold my hand and tell me 5mg won't bite me in the arse? I should have done it last week but I did Criminal Activity and got the golden dose instead 😎
I also really want to order some size 14 trousers, in case I get back to that size. I was a size 10-12 for so long that now being an 18-20 is alien to me. These are the trousers. I can buy them in my current size but I don't want to. Am I silly?

Week 6 weigh in this morning and I've lost 1.4kg this week (3lbs). I've had a bit of a whoosh after TOTM last week. Total weight loss is now 9.6kg (1.5 stones)!!! Absolutely unbelievable to me.

Only NSV so far is that I think the upper part of my B belly is smaller; at least I don't think it bulges over my waistband so much.

I have many, many kgs/stones left to lose but I'm more than half way to my first interim goal 🎉

PersonaNonFatta · 13/06/2025 10:49

Hi losers,
I've probably missed this being explained multiple times, but how do I get any of that extra dose out? I spilt some last time, so I did a second, small dose to make up for it, thinking it was fine because there's lots left.
But today was 4th dose and it wouldn't go all the way so I've not even had a complete dose! The pen 'knows' what you do!!
I'm not looking to always misuse pen, but I'd at least like to have my full dose today 😬

TIA

ETA I have a spare needle

Merluzzo · 13/06/2025 10:55

@DidILeaveTheGasOn I took my first 5mg 10 minutes ago. All good so far, you can do it. Go for the size 14 trousers, it’s good to have an incentive in your wardrobe. I have all my smaller clothes stored away and can’t wait to look through them to see what now fits.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/06/2025 12:02

@PersonaNonFatta 'The pen knows what you do' 😂😂😂ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY PEN

I've heard sone people talk about forcing the pension to twist with pliers, I've not tried that. Last week I used an insulin syringe to get the last bit out . I bought a pack of ten single use ones from an online pharmacy

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/06/2025 12:03

@Merluzzo You're right, I think I will. I have all my old 10-12 clothes in plastic boxes, it'll be like Christmas taking the lids off and looking through them. I can't wait, and also can't really see myself getting back there, but need to keep the faith.

@AlicesMum2025 I am so, so chuffed for you, what a great result.

They are lovely. I think get them in the 14. Gives a nice pleasant aim. I might do similar and get them in the size I hope to be in a months time!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/06/2025 12:37

Darn it, the size 14 has sold out! Ah well.

BrienneMonroe · 13/06/2025 13:37

Week 6 weigh in and jab 7 tonight

Another 1.4lbs off so 16.6lbs in total. Current weight is 191.8lbs. Almost in the overweight BMI finally!

I am getting impatient which I feel silly about! I haven’t been this light since 2022. Daft isnt it 🥸

Thanks @Weightlossprincess I've ordered some!

Mounraine · 13/06/2025 15:57

Thank you @ElsieJay! How's the salad/vegetable option where you are?

kiwiane · 13/06/2025 16:15

Week 4 and I’ve lost 4lbs in the first 3 weeks - I’m pleased I’ve lost weight at last - I’m now just under 15 stone so that feels like a major win.
I’m just more tired than usual and have decided to move up to 5mg next week.

Phat2fin · 13/06/2025 16:17

I’ve lost track of what week I’m on but I’ve just done my 7th jab. I’ve lost 9kg in total - I’m pleased with that.

Lovecycling · 13/06/2025 16:35

Weigh in at end of week 6 was 2.8lbs down after a measly 0.4lb loss last week, giving total of 15lbs down. Took second 3.75mg dose from 5mg pen as suppression was ok, not overwhelming and still able to eat ok. I’m getting impatient too but trying to relax and trust the process. I have another 38 lbs to lose to get out of obese category and hoping I’ll get there for end of October. Seems a long way away for an interim goal 😩

Apprenante · 13/06/2025 17:07

I did jab number 7 this morning. Sticking with 3.75 as side effects are OK - just a bit of constipation .

BUT I've been away from home so no bathroom scales so I have no idea about my weight, which I find really scary.
I'm being cautious with menu choices in cafés and I'm planning the food I make and counting calories and protein.

The most difficult thing is DH who is really lovely. He is a skinny bloke who likes to eat a lot. When we are out and I don't, for example, want yet another coffee he gets all disgruntled. Generally I'm just letting him enjoy his disgruntlement but it’s casting a gloom.

Any suggestions? LTB is really not the answer and telling him to grow up (he's 74) would just cause more gruntling. Help!

Mounraine · 13/06/2025 17:26

@Apprenante have you told him how his behaviour feels to you? Have you checked out how he’s really feeling and thinking behind his behaviour?

tostaky · 13/06/2025 17:33

whilst i am bery pleased with the start of this journey, i have just made the huge mistake of counting how many kilos i need to lose until im in the “normal” BMI range… a depressing 25kg! And to be in the middle of the normal range (as it makes for a good goal but ill see how it feels) 34kg!!! 😭😭 this is huge… i will lose a third, A THIRD of my current weight!!!! I d love to have a drink to help me process this ubut unfortunately im too nauseous for one!!

RoaryMouth · 13/06/2025 18:58

End of week 4 and and 13lbs down. I’ve had a couple of folk at work ask if I’ve lost weight so that was pleasing. I have a 5mg pen ready to go but think I’ll try 3.75. No side effects so far other than tiredness but have noticed suppression wain slightly.
Great to hear how good folk are feeling with their losses.

Mounraine · 13/06/2025 19:19

Jabbed last night and despite feeling sooo tired I’ve also had lots of energy. I am definitely doing more DIY, gardening and housework than I have in years. As I was cutting the hedge tonight (having been to the gym after work) I was thinking that before I’d been carrying another 2stone. Going to see what that is in kg and lift it next time I’m in the gym.

FlorenceNightshade · 13/06/2025 19:26

@Mounraine today I was doing a wee at home dumbbell workout and as I was putting them away I realised that combined they were 6kg and I’ve lost 7kg!!! Definitely helps with perspective to visualise it!
