Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Such an interesting post @Fatrosrhun - so glad your GP is supportive. Mine is not (despite telling me everything that's wrong with is down to my weight for the past 5 years!)

Really interesting to hear about the effects of MJ // weight loss on periods as well. She sounds like a gem!

Can I ask...what foods did she recommend avoiding?

@TimeForTeaAndMeit makes a lot of difference to have a good GP! My surgery just sent me a text saying they will not take any responsibility for the SE…. Not that im asking them to, but i wish they phrased their text differently…

4th jans for me (every 9 days) and i have lost 5kg. Very happy 😃 i will try to get the golden dose next week
DP is also very pleased with his weightloss and he is moving tomorrow to 5mg. I said lots of people do a 3.5mg dose to scaffold the higher dose but he isnt convinced!

What is SE?

@SussexLass87 I think you are wanting to tag the person I was replying to, not me?

Oh of course it is! Duh, silly me!

How awful of your surgery! Would they treat a smoking related issue, or someone who fell off their bike/horse??

Seahorsesplendour · 11/06/2025 22:22

Just done my 6th jab and done 3.75 and strangely (like others have said) I now feel like a rule breaker 😂

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 11/06/2025 23:22

@TimeForTeaAndMeyour GP sounds incredible!!

Fedupoftheshits · 12/06/2025 08:25

Week 3 update - 2lbs off this week which I’m pleased about. Minimal side effects which are mainly feeling very full after eating and having to keep topped up on the rennie, currently buying bumper packs from Amazon!

I’m intrigued to see how things go as the weeks progress as I’ve decided to stay on 2.5mg for month 2.

SW: 13st 7lb
W1: -4lb
W2: -3lb
W3: -2lb
CW: 12st 12lb

@TimeForTeaAndMeyour GP sounds brilliant and really supportive!

Morning everyone,

Just killing some time before a hospital appointment this morning.

It sounds like everyone is doing well with all these updates.

My weight has started to shift slightly this week, only by 0.2kg but better then nothing!
I'm usually used to it dropping more initially but my body seems to be stubborn at the moment and not wanting to let go. Most likely because of the stress I'm under. I honestly don't know how I'm coping, I think I'm just running on fumes.

I do have a lot of down time to relax but find myself just doom scrolling on my phone which isn't productive. I need to start cracking on with the wedding planning.

I might make a to do list later of things I need to sort.

I'm struggling with my mood at the moment which isn't a surprise after everything we've been through this year. I have bipolar disorder and have asked for a medication review and the mental health team have messed up my appointment- so bad that I've put a complaint in, so I'll wait to hear back from them.

What type of foods is everyone eating to get enough protein in? I'm struggling because I don't like fish, eggs, a lot of vegetables etc. I'm wondering if they are any wonder snacks out there lol.

My plan is to do my fourth jab tomorrow night but I'll be doing 3.75mg as I have tolerated this well this week.

I'm now at exactly 111kg. I think I'm going to set a new interim goal of 105kg.

I want to get back into the routine of cooking fresh homemade meals as it's been put on the back burner. I'm also mindful of small changes at a time.

After my appointment, I've got work for the day and I'm just on "duty". I've managed to get myself caught up for the most part with things. It's a work from home day which isn't too bad.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day. I best be off!

SussexLass87 · 12/06/2025 09:22

Nothing useful to add @OhPolly but hope you get your appointment sorted soon & a squeeze for your Ddog.

I'd love to have some idea for what others are eating...I've been making a big pan of chicken and vegetable soup every few days. Means I can heat it up if I'm feeling peckish.

Chicken breasts
Carrots
Onions
Courgettes
Garlic
Ginger
Seasoning
Stock
Lots of parsley once it's off the heat.

Blend half of it or leave it as is. My DH has been adding noodles to his, but I haven't fancied the carbs.

But would love to hear what others are eating! ❤️

@SussexLass87 I tend to eat 0% fage Greek yoghurt with extra protein power mixed in and a spoon of fruit compote/strawberries etc with a little granola sprinkled on top for crunch. I have that most mornings.

I tend to have some mixed beans with pickled beetroot chopped up and mixed in with a bit extra of the vinegar to make a bean salad and then have a bit of tinned tuna or some turkey bacon rashers to try and up the protein. Or I have some diet shakes and soups from new you plan that I use too. I tend to blend the shakes with half a banana and some extra protein powder to get some fruit and extra protein in.

Then supper salmon with plenty of broccoli and carrots, I would usually not have the noodles/rice/potatoes that I cook for the others or a very small amount. I do vary it but those are probably my staples. The bean salad in particular I tend to just have a pot in the fridge at all times.

Kipperandarthur · 12/06/2025 10:24

Have lost another 1kg this week which I'm happy with.

An odd week as I may have taken too much Movicol to sort the constipation thing and now have the opposite. Am really hoping that I misjudged how much movicol and not gone from a SE of constipation to the complete opposite.

It's all a bit of a learning curve but tummy is definitely gurgling and not as happy as normal.

Hoping that it's down to a sachet of Movicol plus x 2 psyllium husk capsules being too powerful a combination.

Fatrosrhun · 12/06/2025 12:24

I have full fat Greek yogurt with blueberries, strawberries, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds for breakfast. A flat white mid morning. Lunch is either a big salad with toms, peppers and seeds with either feta, halloumi or mozzarella balls and balsamic vinegar dressing plus one slice of seeded whole meal bread or home made veg soup and a slice of bread. A banana or handful of grapes mid afternoon. Dinner is usually veg/mixed bean chilli or chickpea curry or a mixed Mediterranean veg pasta. Then I have grapes in Greek yogurt every evening as a treat. (I’m veggie). I’m loving what I’ve eaten so far and getting good losses.

PinkScot · 12/06/2025 12:33

Loving the daily menus for inspiration so I’ll add mine. For breakfast I usually have a protein pudding or yogurt, I was alternating with a couple of poached eggs but I had an egg experience that put me off 🤮. For lunch always salad but with various toppings chicken, ham, a wee bit of cheese or tuna. I use v low cal dressing as I like the taste. Sometimes a little fruit or couple of breadsticks at about four pm if I feel snackish. I make dinner for everyone so I’ll try to have some of that if possible less carbs version. Tonight is lasagne so I’ll just have a v small portion with some salad. Drinks tea water and my treat one can of Coke Zero a day. Sometimes I have a small treat at nine like a single scoop of sorbet or a rice cake. My calorie count is always under 1000 and I track everything! Seems to be working so far thanks for all the support. Love this group!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 12/06/2025 13:36

Breakfast gone to heck this week as I'm on a deadline and it's been shite but then

Lunch/brunch:

American Breakfast sorta: Protein pancakes (egg whites, protein powder, flour, greek yoghurt), scrambled eggs, turkey rashers, chopped tomatoes and a drizzle of maple syrup - low cal and sky high protein!

Smoked mackeral pate made with quark and a red onion and tomato salad with a slutty amount of coriander (I love that stuff)

If we're feeling fancy, just replace a veg with asparagus, ooh

Dinner: More of the same but no carb in the evening, so salmon and broccoli, chicken and asparagus, salad and something. Last night my DP made me pork and broccoli in mustard jus. It was fit.

I'm going to steal meal ideas from this thread. There's also a 'What I ate on Mounjaro' thread going which is great.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 12/06/2025 13:59

NSW: I just pulled on a clean t-shirt that I haven't worn for a month. It fits so much better.

Not a win: I can't go to the loo. i've been working til 10-11 every night and I need to get some exercise. Ugh.

SignedUpAgain · 12/06/2025 14:18

6 weeks done - going quickly
Just taken 3rd dose of 5g pen.

Total loss is 8kg (just over 17lb)

Definitely slow results compared to some but I'm ok with it.

Literally no one has noticed anything yet. I think I can feel my jeans are a bit looser and maybe losing a bit of my pot belly.

But still a long way to go for me.

I just tried getting the 'golden dose' from my first pen. I managed to force the mechanism with some pliers, but then the plunger wouldn't work. Ah well, it was worth a try!

Ahhh gutted mine worked a treat. But was worried I'd snap it while forcing it lol. I may not be as lucky next time 🤦🏻‍♀️

Fatrosrhun · 12/06/2025 16:28

For those that have syringed the golden dose, what needle did you use? I know people have used tiny ones, and I want tiny!

32g 6mm 1ml, sterile disposable, no issues

Anonymousmember25 · 12/06/2025 18:09

@tostaky my GP also sent me the text that they take no responsibility for anyone that has decided to MJ and then ended it with but we can help you with other ways on your weight loss journey!! Like FFS, if that was successful, I wouldn't be on it would I!?!

Been so busy not had a chance to pop on here but lovely to see everyone's progress! I am W5D3 on 5mg and have lost 12 lb. Slow compared to some but am good with that.

It was my first 5mg dose on Sunday and feel it's the first time it's really had an effect. The food noise has just gone and it's really weird. I'm strangely full after not much. Also weird. Work has been so busy and stressful I haven't thought about it but on reflection I think this is what I'm meant to feel! Feel bad that I should get some exercise but I struggle to fit in around work although appreciate this is an excuse that I don't enjoy it!

Loving the food ideas. I'm eating loads of cucumber salad..... Sliced with soft cheese and herbs and chopped crab sticks and avocado. Check out logan cucumber salad on tiktok he makes loads of variations on it!!!
