Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

I also had a nsv today too. I found the measurements that I took the day before I started. I hid them because they were so awful, then forgot where I hid them! I’ve lost 1” off my upper arms, boobs and calves, 1.5” off my hips and spare tyre under my boobs. Strangely my waist is the same, and that’s usually the first place I lose. But anyway that’s made me smile after only three weeks. It’s really worth doing measurements!

ElsieJay · 10/06/2025 20:31

👋 Hello , and thanks for all the lovely messages overnight .
Arrived safely, many hugs, slept, currently drinking a cuppa and soon to sleep again I think !
Managed to decline airline food (not too difficult ) so just one piece of toast and a tube of sugar-free mints all day. Far from ideal but better than nothing.
And we have WiFi ! (At the moment, anyways ….).
Onwards and downwards ! xx

SussexLass87 · 10/06/2025 21:27

Hello lovely losers...love reading all your news ❤️

My DH is a week into MJ and it's been so nice having him along on the ride.

Watching him a order a salad at lunch today, then not being able to finish it was quite funny! 😁

Fascinating to see his ADHD brain fog lift, his focus increase, a belt buckle down and his face slimmer already!

And he's stopped snoring...I am over the moon 🤣🤣

W3D6 This week is a total stall. I’ve not budged weight wise but it looks like measurements might have creeped down. Tomorrow is weigh in/jab day and I’m travelling away for work for 2 nights and eating with colleagues etc so need to see how I manage that without making it awkward.
Im eating a bit more this week, because I was scraping 600-800 calories for the last two weeks. And I’m worried that is completely unsustainable once I come back down and weight will fly back on.
Anyway, I’m getting all excited about nice hotel breakfasts then remembering I can’t physically eat breakfast right now. What a waste 😆

An update on my step up to 5mg. I was going to report no SE after Saturday‘s short until last night… massive cramps in the night kept waking me up then I woke at 6 to a surprise couple of 💩💩. Luckily I made the loo! Slight nausea afterwards not too bad, just felt then tired all day and (grown up) kids annoyed me so I actually went back to bed in the afternoon to hide. Good news is I am now 13 lb down after I jettisoned that excess ‘baggage’ so every cloud 😂. This evening back to fine and ate my tea and even a bit of raspberry sorbet my treat for the day at 75 cal. So far 5mg is working well.

AAAARHH...got the dreaded sulphur burps at 3am, 4am, 5am...you get the picture!! Bloody hell...you were all right: they are hideous.

Luckily DH is away so it was just the Ddog who got treated to them.

At 4am she hopped off my bed with her little nose in the air, a little judgy glare and decamped to the kid's rooms.

Morning everyone, just finished my 4th week on 2.5mg and I’ve done my weekly weight check. Delighted that I’m now down 12.5 lbs since I started. So close to a whole stone! Ive ordered a measuring tape as I know I’ve lost inches because trousers are looser and my bra is on the smallest fastening now.

Starting off my next pen with 3.75mg tonight as I’m nervous about doubling the dose straight away.
Have a good day everyone!

BluNavy · 11/06/2025 07:56

Start of week 7 today! Almost 2 months l, where has the time gone? Still on 2.5. lost 1.6kg which is great as I had a work strategy day that ended with a very long meal with tons of starters. I ate a lot of padron peppers 😆But a slice of cheesecake so was worried.

Bring my total to 12.1kg/ 26.5lbs! Really hoping to break into the 2 stone category next week.

I've also not gotten sick since I started, not picked up any of the colds young kids bring home. Wondering if it's all the vitamins I've been taking daily?

keeponplodding7 · 11/06/2025 08:22

So I weighed this morning and officially 8lb down in 5 weeks. Bearing in mind I had 1 week off as was away I am happy with this. I’m still eating my calories every day and no big side effects so staying on 2.5. I’m also actually 2 stone and 4lb down since January as was doing it on my own at first. I feel like a different person. I haven’t been this weight since 2018! Off to the gym this morning feeling motivated x

GherkinsOnToast · 11/06/2025 08:57

Morning all, my teen walked into my room this morning and said, 'Whoa madre, you're looking good! You seem to have lost weight, and it looks good on you!

I decided to stick to 2.5mg for a second month as I was getting good suppression, week 6, and I'm slowly feeling more hungry but nothing huge but I can eat 2 small meals a day, but still can't eat chips or sweet stuff. I had a few days of sulfur burps after a buffet breakfast on holiday - I blame the American chocolate milk, which I could usually mainline!

I am 6kg down, nice and slow, which is what I wanted as I don't want to attract attention with rapid weight loss.

I'll move up to 5mg when I next order.

selfesteemsearcher · 11/06/2025 09:34

Checkin for accountability, I’ve had a bad week generally this week with some scary health updates and investigations going on. But, otherwise I actually felt completely normal, no SE which is odd for me as had them violent for the other weeks 🫠 but, also felt no different, definitely had a few treats this week and not moved as much. So Weight is static, no loss or gain which I guess is good still (still on 2.5ml) so decided will try 3.75 next just to see how cope with any SE.
My 5th injection is due this evening <3
I’m still on a 2.5ml pen, how will I know where 3.75 is, has anyone done this? Tia xx

Morning all
7th jab done and had my 6 week weigh in.
im 20.5lbs down in 6 weeks and delighted with how that makes me feel. My clothes all look so much better.
i have just taken the 2nd dose from my 2nd 2.5mg pen (I took the bonus dose from first). 3 more to go and I am thinking is this continues it will be a 3rd 2.5 for me. No SE (bar no 💩 issues) and steady losses. Still feel hungry and feel I’m using willpower, which is no bad thing

stripesdotsdashes · 11/06/2025 11:12

Checking in with a skip in my step today as a sneaky early weigh in confirms another kg off since last Fridays weigh in, bringing me to 5kg/10lbs off in 6 weeks! I thought id really slowed down, but went for the 3.75mh eith 2nd pen and it's working great. Still able to exercise, only SE is ongoing constipation which I'm tackling in various ways (extra water, stool softener tablets, dates) and if that doesn't work then I have suppositories (😳) which I'm scared to use! 🤣
Sorry tmi but hey we're all in this together!
Feeling bloody great. Really liked the tip in the thread earlier to set mini goals so have drafted mine.
Funnily enough my midriff isn't shrinking as much as hoped, it's everywhere else the weight is coming off, wish id measured more areas to track.
Onwards and downwards!

MollyHollyDollyPolly · 11/06/2025 12:13

Hi everyone!

I hope it's ok for me to jump in, having just found this thread whilst doing some googling.

I started MJ on 28th April, recently moved up to 5mg and have been quite lucky in terms of side effects. Since doing my second job though, my body is aching, like flu like aches where your body feels sensitive to touch. No other symptoms to indicate I'm actually unwell, has anyone else had this?

I swore I'd up my exercise this week but I just don't feel up to it at all!

Fatrosrhun · 11/06/2025 12:14

I was the same when I measured my midriff too. Everything else was significantly smaller. And my waist is usually where it comes off first.

Can anyone remind me what needles/syringes I need for the golden dose? I really must have a try next week (royal I - my husband is chief jabber!)

keeponplodding7 · 11/06/2025 14:49

One thing I’m noticing this week is that I haven’t lots of energy first thing, go to the gym, start work, then as soon as I’ve had lunch I am soooo tired - I could quite easily take a nap! It wears off as the afternoon progresses though….

Newnameoldme01 · 11/06/2025 16:55

I thought I had updated this but realised I hadn’t.
im now on W3D5, SE are not too bad, now again have to run to loo but that might be the amount of veg and things I am eating rather than junk.
i have one more 2.5 then need to decide whether to go up or stick, ideally I would do 2.5 twice weekly as I feel at the end of the week I have more food noise but not a huge appetite so not doing too bad.
Ive discovered a lot of my eating is through boredom though, after dinner if I “feel hungry” I can distract myself doing something and realise I wasn’t actually hungry just bored, I used to have loads of treats while watching tv in the evening but I am trying to change my mindset that food is not a treat, it is a fuel to keep my body healthy and full of energy. So I need to come up with new treats for myself, I did think about setting out things like getting nails done, hair done etc but I feel guilty spending on myself, even for self care - mad I know!
i was weighing daily and it annoyed me that the numbers sometimes went up so I am trying to stick to weekly weighing, I haven’t noticed clothes feeling looser but I am constantly in leggings or stretchy trousers so won’t notice much I don’t think.
I do seem to have more energy in the evenings though, usually I would go for a nap after work as so shattered but the last week and a half I haven’t felt the need.

Mounraine · 11/06/2025 17:27

I'm feeling pretty fatigued, but that might be my other condition that I'm battling with. (Just found out that the consultant put me on the 18-week, non-urgent waiting list). But the weird thing is that I'm staying up past 10pm, sometimes as late as 11pm when I've been a lifelong lover of bed by 9pm.

Has anyone else's bedtime moved?

Sallycinnamum · 11/06/2025 17:45

Weight has completed stalled this week so last 2.5mg jab on Friday then moving up next week.

Was going to try 3.75mg but might do 3.50 just to be on the safe side. That table is very useful @dc82.

Despite losing a stone, not one bugger at work has noticed!

I was intending to stop after three months as I really didn't want to bother with it when I'm on holiday in August but I'll see how things go for the next 6 weeks.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 11/06/2025 18:01

My bedtime has adjusted @Mounraine but I'm heading up to bed at 10ish now instead of much later. I wake up around 7 and I find that my early morning fatigue has really lessened. This morning I got up, worked for an hour, tidied and played a bit of my favourite computer game before work.
I worked til 11:30pm last night so I was surprised I had any energy today.

TimeForTeaAndMe · 11/06/2025 18:16

Hi all, little update. I seen my doctor this morning (bloody wonderful woman) will definitely make sure to ask for her next time lol.

So after I had the bad side effects the other week and decided to stay on lower dose. Unfortunately the suppression wasn't as good. (But not So terrible that I started gorging on snacks)

Holiday I came on too early. It really was heavy I think I mentioned this in my last post. But I've only been home a week and have come on again.

First thing this morning I was extremely sick and vomiting. I honestly thought oh no here we go again as I taken 3.75 yesterday in the hopes it would sort the suppression out.

However after having a good conversation with the doctor she's not worried about the periods as long as it doesn't keep on happening. Where to keep an eye on it it is more than likely down to the MJ. Or stress of the body losing weight so fast. And thankfully I've not felt sick at all for the rest of the day. Also explaining what kind of foods can sit heavy overnight, as well as getting a horrible period it could have just been a combination of everything.

Best part is she explained a lot of people do get past the initial side effects if you just push through. And she told me that quite a few people do actually tolerate 7.5 really well as by that point your body has become used to it. She said considering I've already lost a stone in such a short time I will more than likely losing another stone. Stick to the dose that I'm on until it plateaus. The move up to the next dose.

She really has made me feel so much better about the whole thing because I did say to my husband. If the side effects will come back the way that they were I don't think I will be able to carry on. To be honest that made me feel quite low. It feels like I'm only just at the start of this journey.

I do think that I probably should be on the five milligram at this point. As I would have full suppression this time last week on the 2.5. even on the 3.5 I'm feeling quite hungry at the moment. I'm going to see what the next week brings and then make my decision. But definitely not quitting. 🤞

She also gave me a prescription for some really good anti sickness and antacids. So thankfully if I do start feeling as bad as I did before I'll have something to fall back on to help this time.

She told me a few foods to maybe stay clear of because they can sit quite heavy even if they seem to be quite healthy. Bananas being one of them lol.

Hope everyone is well this evening and of course to anyone still really suffering I'll do hope it passes soon. Sending virtual hugs 🤗

Of course being me I forgot to mention, we are also redoing my bloods. I do suffer from anemia. And I'm overdue my b12 injections. (As well as prediabetes) She checked my last lot of blood results and said that there are a few things that were too low so it is definitely best to have done checked again to make sure there's nothing else going on to make me feel unwell.

So off to book the bloods I go yay (I'm really hoping when this next live results come through they say there is no free diabetes anymore) 🤞

Fatrosrhun · 11/06/2025 18:27

That’s very interesting @TimeForTeaAndMe. I had a chat with a GP that visits my cafe before I started, and he said he thought a lot of side effects he’s seen were from either eating the wrong things or letting the stomach get too empty (which is also what they say to my husband if he has problems with his stoma incidentally).
