Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

@SaintAgatha thank you for sharing! Reassuring to know it’s works for someone else!!

I might just aim for a month but weigh in a fortnight if I wobble!! 😂mentally that is a will definitely still be wobbly physically in a Months time - although hopefully not forever now!!! 🤭

OhPolly · 08/06/2025 13:59

Hello!

I hope everyone is well. Only 1/2lb loss here this week which I was a bit disappointed with but I don't think I'm drinking anywhere near as much as I could be/should. I'm going to set myself a target this week of 3l per day at least!

DDog is still in the animal hospital. She had her op on Friday and her heart stopped for 5 minutes and they have to perform CPR. Thankfully they got her back and she's been recovering well since. We are going to see her this evening. It's a 90 min journey from where we live but it will be so worth it.

On the subject of food.. a past time of mine was enjoying going out for food and socialising with friends. Although lately I've been looking at the quality of food and how much it's been costing. It seems to have all of a sudden gone really expensive, especially when you add in the cost of a soft drink too (I don't drink alcohol).

It's kind of making me a bit sad about eating out really as it's a big part of my life/maybe I'd class it as a hobby?

Although I've not been socialising much lately with everything going on.

This morning we've been to watch DS play his tennis matches of which he won both his doubles and singles.

And then we've just come home and I made us all halloumi and chorizo bagels, which were perfect and so tasty! I'd definately recommend.

I think what I might do now is maybe just go out for hot drinks socially and leave food unless it's somewhere really special, not just the pub. And save up my money and spend it on good quality food I can cook at home!

Anyhow, me and DH are off to the gym to use the sauna for some chill out time, if it's quiet.

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend :)

Cocotok · 08/06/2025 14:08

Hi all, I hope I'm okay to join? I started on 22nd May and have been lurking since then.

I did my 3rd injection on Friday.

I've lost 11lb in total during the first 2 weeks which I'm really pleased with. Haven't really had any side effects up until the last few days. Struggling with bloating and constipation which is zapping my energy! Any tips on managing this?

ElsieJay · 08/06/2025 14:09

@OhPolly - well done for sticking to plan this week , with everything that’s been going on. That must have been a terrifying time with DDog, thank goodness the surgeons were able to bring her back and wonderful to hear she’s recovering well . She’ll be very excited to see you later! 🐶
Congrats to DS on his tennis successes, and hope you and DH have some much-needed relaxing time at the gym, you certainly deserve it.
Onwards and downwards!

SaintAgatha · 08/06/2025 14:30

@OhPolly I’m so glad to hear your DDog is ok!

dc82 · 08/06/2025 14:57

Same as everyone else - so so glad DDog is now recovering well @OhPolly ❤️ Your heart must have been in your mouth this week.

Well done to all you losers 😁

When I did jag 4, I did it in my tummy for the first time. I’m definitely feeling increased suppression and slight nausea. Not sure if that’s just week 4 or switching off my thighs. 🤔

Seahorsesplendour · 08/06/2025 15:41

@OhPolly i’m so sorry it’s been such a difficult week but relieved to hear ddog is improving!!! Enjoy cuddles & licks later!!! And well done on loosing anything with all that going on!!

@Cocotok welcome !! Been a few discussions on constipation I think general consensus is more water & veg and prunes!! I haven’t had a problem but have been taking psyllium husk capsule or 2 most mornings with a pint of water just to increase fibre intake & help my long suffering good gut bacteria!!

might be worth a try! Full husksSupplement 750mg Whole... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RMXFZWY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Psyllium husks

these are the ones I use if that helps!

SaintAgatha · 08/06/2025 16:46

@Cocotok Psyllium husks were the only things that worked for me re: constipation. I got them from Holland & Barrett. They weren’t cheap but I was at the stage where I could’ve bitten through the doorframe when using the toilet, so was happy to throw money at the situation!

ElsieJay · 08/06/2025 17:21

@Cocotok : Hello and welcome !
Kiwi fruit , 🥝, recommended on here , did the trick for me.
I did leave the skin on (not sure if I should have done or not ) , which was ….different!

DBatteryBand · 08/06/2025 17:23

I'm a big fan of dried fruit. A few dried apricots, a few prunes and a very small handful of raisins seem to do the trick, along with lots of water.

Apprenante · 08/06/2025 18:33

Sending best wishes to Ddog @OhPolly

SussexLass87 · 08/06/2025 18:52

Sending gentle hugs to your Ddog @OhPolly

I love hearing about everyone's weekends - we're such a chatty bunch!

Yes, lovely to read a positive update on DDog.

I am stalling slightly again. Last time was 12st 7, this time 12st 2. On a weekly basis it feels like I don't get anywhere, but I have to remember that over time there is definite improvement.

I've treated myself to another night away. The hotel has a pool and once again I realised that there is no uncomfortable chaffing between damp thighs. It's one of the best NSVs. I've also decided to take a bit of a break from the dieting. Had a lovely Sunday roast at a pub on the way here and will enjoy a Full English at breakfast tomorrow. Then back on it to hit 12st.

Samuraipizzacat · 08/06/2025 20:45

@ElsieJayoh that’s interesting. I have a friend who is a bikini/body builder model and she says similar. She also ignores the scales (her muscles skew the measurements) and focus on measurements and she takes weekly pics for comparison. I might start doing the pics as it helps to see the physical change. You forget otherwise!

What does NSW mean?

@AccidentalPrawnYouFool non scale win! Or sometimes NSV for non scale victory. The things like being less short of breath, clothes feeling looser etc that the number on the scale may not reflect!

Have a lovely break. A roast dinner and a full English are both good balanced meals anyway. You’re not going to do much damage there anyway. Especially with a swim thrown in. You’ll get there.

Fatrosrhun · 08/06/2025 23:16

My husband had a Chinese takeaway tonight and it didn’t bother me at all (we usually have one every Sunday after a busy weekend working). I had a home made chickpea curry. I’m strange on MJ. I can still eat spices, large portions etc. I still get plenty of food noise. But I do feel that I find it easier to say no to things.

DBatteryBand · 09/06/2025 06:28

Wondering if moving up to 5mg was a mistake. Struggling to eat my usual breakfast this morning, and it's only a small pot of Greek yoghurt and some berries. Nauseated for much of the day yesterday. Hopefully things will settle down.

ElsieJay · 09/06/2025 06:46

@DBatteryBand - sending sympathy, the constant feeling of nausea is really miserable.
I felt the same when I jabbed one day early, though I’m only on 2.5mg.
Could you try a protein shot ( Lidl do a nice peach one) for breakfast for a day or two, I found that easier than yoghurt for the queasiness.
Also maybe counting clicks so dosing 3.75 to make the transition easier ? Plenty of advice on this upthread.
Hoping you feel better soon 💐.

DBatteryBand · 09/06/2025 07:17

@ElsieJay Thanks for that. Will give the protein shots a whirl. I am just feeling sorry for myself!

Merluzzo · 09/06/2025 07:48

I’ve just had the weirdest couple of days. I took my 4th jab on Friday and almost immediately had awful diarrhoea for an hour or so, the first ever SE since I started. Then despite Shotsy showing I had a really high level of MJ in my system, I had zero suppression. As a PP said, I’ve been face down in a packet of sausage rolls for 2 days.

All seems to be back to normal today. I’m 1.2lbs up but it could have been much worse I guess. How our bodies all react differently is fascinating.

Monday is a new week and new start. Onwards and downwards.

I hope you all have a good week ahead.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 09/06/2025 07:51

@DBatteryBand My pharmacy recommended Buccostem to help with nausea on Mj, you can get it over the counter - might be worth a go? I despise nausea, I get really anxious with it which makes it worse. You have all my sympathy!

Cocotok · 09/06/2025 08:14

Thanks all, I will take a trip to Holland and Barrett and try the husks.

I made the mistake of weighing today (Friday is weigh day) I'm 2lb up compared to Friday 😢. Realistically I know it must be due to the constipation as I have definitely been in a calorie deficit. Still disheartening though.

I've seen quite a few of you mention week 3 is a strange one so hopefully it's just that.

I also have to say reading your losses and journeys is so reassuring as there's no one in rl to discuss it with.
