Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Because I don't want to pay for Shotsy, I've created a very inelegant spreadsheet for working out how much of the drug remains in your system. It's very up & down. I'm considering taking smaller doses more frequently to smooth it all out a bit; I felt quite rough yesterday.
Does anyone else play about with the dosage/frequency?

tostaky · 05/06/2025 15:52

@SutekhsEars yes i take my shot every 9 days. The suppression is pretty intense for me anyway most of the time so for now it is ok. But it means i have to lie to my provider and it makes me uneasy. Today i have a check in call and i should have my 4th jab but my 4th jab will be next wednesday eve.
i am also planning to take as little as possible for as long as i can. Just wondering how i am going to manage this with my provider if the expectation is the full dose every 7 days
of course next week might be a different story and i may want to go for the 5mg dose or for 7 days instead of 9, lets see

Sallycinnamum · 05/06/2025 16:18

How are people getting on with 3.75mg or 5mg jabs in terms of side effects?

Received the 5mg pen from ME today so that sitting in the fridge for the next 2 weeks. Really pleased they accepted me as I was not prepared to pay an extra £100 from Voy!

Hello. Have been lurking for a while and finding your journeys all very helpful and encouraging. I am approaching the end of week 5 and still on 2.5.
My stats: age 54, SW 91kg, CW 84.3kg.
I've been losing about a kg evey week, sometimes a bit more. I'm pretty pleased with this steady progress, hence staying on 2.5 but am considering a 5mg pen for the 3rd month.

I am menopausal and on HRT but haven't noticed anything different, but do have a coil and use estrogen gel, so not taking pills.
I'm also hypothyroid and was worried about this before starting, but haven't noticed any difference either. Will get blood tested next month I think.
SEs I have had include being very cold and not biting my fingers as much as I used to (the skin around the nails...I know, gross!), which I a bonus.
I had headaches and some mild nausea at the beginning but possibly due to dehydration.
I'm so pleased to be doing it with you all.
Onwards and downwards!

I made the most delish fake ice cream. I mixed two scoops of vanilla protein shake with prob 250ml -300ml of semi skimmed milk and about a 1/4 packet of strawberry angel delight (no added sugar) and a banana (half would be fine) mixed and frozen it and then blended it with my ninja creami. Just had some for pudding after supper. Haven’t worked out the calories very accurately but think it has just around 450 calories for the whole tub and at least 4 portions. I’m going to try with some other diet shakes I have for different flavours. I’m so impressed with it. It’s really creamy and smooth but not much fat in it at all. Obviously has some sugar but also has some protein too. I’m so pleased with myself. I’ve tried making other low fat ice creams before but never quite worked, the protein powder and banana was a game changer.

I’ve been reading this thread daily since first injecting at the start of May. I thought it might help others to share my experience.

I’m now in week 5 and increased to 5mg last week. My starting weight was 12st 1 and my current weight is 11st 5, so a loss of 10lb in 5 weeks! I’m thrilled!

Going up to 5mg was fine for me, so far anyway. I was a bit tired the next day but that’s all.

I’m 54 and on HRT. 2st has crept on me since I turned 50 and I’ve tried everything to shift it. I run regularly and walk daily at least 3 miles. I cut out carbs but couldn’t survive on less than 1400 calories a day (professional full time stressful job) despite trying. 1200 is my weight loss amount and this is what Mounjaro has helped me with. I don’t feel ravenous between meals so don’t snack. I’m eating mostly protein, veg and fruit which may have helped with not having many side effects? Who knows!

I feel so much happier already. I’m really glad I did it (nearly didn’t as was terrified of the side effects and hate needles!). My waist is returning and I’m running faster and further. It’s fabulous to start to feel like me again.

Fatrosrhun · 05/06/2025 18:47

Just back from a lovely day at Bramham horse trials. Did loads of walking. Thankfully the weather wasn’t half as bad as forecast. I did the picnic so added loads of strawberries and grapes etc. I took a bottle of Prosecco but only had one glass. I felt fuller today than I have in the entire 2.5 weeks, and am not hungry even now.

Would you believe that we’d only been there five minutes and my friend managed to drop her phone into the rank portaloo toilet! 🤢

Seahorsesplendour · 05/06/2025 19:32

@SecretSquirrel703 that was me last week did have very slight suppression first couple of days but nothing day 3-6 so I injected a day early as just awful! Bit gobsmacked that I used to feel like that all the time!!! Just hoping once I’ve done this for longer will all change!!

had 3.3mg (5th dose) and all is good it’s worked beautifully so don’t panic!! Going to do 3.75 ne t week now I’m reassured that a small increase still has a positive effect!

Seahorsesplendour · 05/06/2025 19:35

@DidILeaveTheGasOn hope you have a good day out .& your leg behaves!!! You’ve certainly earned some fun!!!

@Fatrosrhun sounds like a lovely day! Other than your poor friends phone!!! Was it rescued is the big question 😬

She actually got it out herself. Had to throw the case and screensaver away, but after an hour in a bag of tissues it started working again!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/06/2025 19:58

Thank you @seahorsesplendour! Fingers crossed.

@lifetheuniverseandeverything42 that ice cream sounds gorgeous. Genius.

Has anyone tried any protein coffee? There are a few out there. I'd quite like an iced protein coffee in the morning but I'm unsure on what to try - any recommendations?

26dX · 05/06/2025 20:11

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Aldi do nice ones for 99p!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/06/2025 20:37

Ooh, thank you @26dX !

She's got a stronger stomach than me!

Mounraine · 05/06/2025 20:55

I am actually considering the fifth dose (or the "dregs" as I've been thinking of it). Does anyone have a recommendation for syringe and needle where we can replace the extracting needle with one of our normal tiny ones?

Thank you 😊. Yes, hunting through the cupboard for 'snacks' last night was an unwelcome reminder of old behaviour!

I woke up really hungry this morning, my snack of gingernut biscuits last night probably to blame, but weirdly suppression returned by lunchtime & quickly full after tonight's main meal. So all good again, thankfully!

It's definitely not a linear thing this, bit of a learning curve, but carry on we go 😊

Me too!!! 😅 glad all ended well!!

Seahorsesplendour · 05/06/2025 21:27

@Mounraine I got some of the fixed needles ones . The needle was about same size and only felt it slightly more than normal it didn’t hurt.

if I hadn’t already brought them I think I would have brought those plungers someone recommended up thread!!

hottubsundays · 05/06/2025 21:39

w4d4 and suppression much better than last week which is weird but could have been because I was off work last week half term and we were out and about a lot more.
I went to the hairdressers today and out on a face of makeup as can’t stand looking at myself in the mirror for 2 hours otherwise. And I came out with an overwhelming feeling that I was slowly returning to my former self - hadn’t realised how unwell and unconfident I have felt the last few years. I’ve been working at home for the last month too and have another month at home before returning to the office after some building work has been going on there and I feel like I’m going to rock up as a totally different woman to the one everyone last saw! I’m currently 12lb down

Hope everyone has a good weekend - I’m going up to 5mg on Sunday. And also the cat is just back from the weight loss clinic today she has lost 0.25kg in 7 days after commencing a diet so we are all celebrating today 🤣

Mounraine · 05/06/2025 21:43

I loved your hairdressers story @hottubsundays!

@Seahorsesplendour thank you - I'd forgotten about that post.

Samuraipizzacat · 05/06/2025 21:49

W3D2
down 4.2kg
Ive had proper food noise today. Thankfully when I start eating I hit a wall pretty quick, but its weird feeling hungry and jonesing for crisps and chocolate again.

Hopefully it’s a blip. I just got next order confirmed and have gone up a dose. I wasn’t sure I was going to but I’m so glad I did seeing how nibbly I am today!

Apprenante · 05/06/2025 21:54

Just about to use 6th injection. I went up to 3.75 last week and didn't have any additional side effects - just a bit of constipation. So I'll stick with 3.75

Starting weight ---14 st 8
Current weight --- 13 st 6.25
Average weight loss - just over 3lb per week . I'm very happy with that.
BMI down from 38 to 34.4

No one has noticed any change in my appearance yet but my clothes are certainly more comfortable

We're a great load of losers!

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 05/06/2025 22:42

Has anyone else noticed that as they’re losing weight they’re less sweaty? I didn’t realise this would be a thing. I’m definitely less hot in all my, er, crevices. 😳

SignedUpAgain · 06/06/2025 00:10

Week 6 day 1
Lost just under 7lg so far (15lb)

Slow and steady here.

Not that dramatic results some are getting

Pretty good appetite suppression - but still requires a degree of willpower.

BerfyTigot · 06/06/2025 00:16

Had hardly any time to read thread this week but did find a couple of great YouTubers. Both medical doctors who are taking MJ and been successful.

Dr Kevin Joseph
Dr Emma Anders

Lots of good info, particularly about microdosing, changing number of days between doses.

Hope they're useful to someone. 😀
