Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Apparently it's a thing to want crunchy things when on mounjaro! My friend who is on about month 8 (and over 6 stone down!!) is talking about craving crunchy broccoli....I'm not there yet! It was also mentioned in the article someone shared of two women's experiences.

That's really interesting as I have been eating boiled mint sweets the past couple of weeks which would not normally even be on my radar. 50 calories for 4 so not too unhealthy!

Newnameoldme01 · 05/06/2025 02:18

So I am on w2d5 but I brought my dose forward a couple of days from Tue to Sat as
i am on holiday and didn’t want to bring the pen with me and didn’t want to leave it until I was back - omg I have had such an upset stomach, D&V, D was really bad, cleared now though.
Suppression is good and food noise minimal, on Monday I had a cup of tea in the morning then was travelling and around 5pm when we got here I was unpacking and felt dizzy, realised I hadn’t actually eaten anything all day so made myself something.

not got scales so can’t weigh in, eating has been okay, as I am on holiday I have had a few biscuits and lattes when out but not went mad, next dose on Saturday so hopefully won’t have the stomach issues as the proper time will have elapsed but it has made me a bit concerned about going up to the 5mg in a couple of weeks

w1 loss - 6.9lb

Fedupoftheshits · 05/06/2025 07:15

Morning folks, checking in for my end of Week 2 weigh in. 3lbs down which I’m pleased about so that’s half a stone gone in 2 weeks. I’m tempted to stick at 2.5mg if my loss continues like this, I’d be happy with a couple of pounds a week.

I think I’ll need to make a decision pretty sharpish as my next pen gets delivered on the 13th. Any advice from those who have had a similar conundrum?

When DH moved from 2.5 to 5mg his side effects got a lot worse so it’s making me very nervous to make that leap!

SW: 13st 7lb
W1: -4lbs
W2: -3lbs
CW: 13st

Kipperandarthur · 05/06/2025 07:18

I started my 5mg pen this week on Tuesday. Pleased to report no side effects.
Weighing day showed a loss of 2.75 lbs.

WeaselTrap · 05/06/2025 07:35

Started on 5mg on Friday, changed my dose from evening to morning (as we were going away for the weekend and I couldn’t work out how to transport the pen/ sort out the sharps etc and thought sod it, I’ll just do it before I go).
Suppression has been HIGH and constipation is kicking my butt. More nausea around feeling full. Other than that, very similar to 2.5mg with SE.
I had weight loss of 9lbs on the 2.5mg and ordered the 5mg after week 3 where the scales didn’t move at all. I’m imagining a similar weight loss of 3lbs this week, don’t think it will be bigger than on the 2.5.

Stephenkingsbiggestfan · 05/06/2025 08:23

Week 5 already!

SW 13st 6lb
W1 12st 13lbs
W2 12st 12lbs
W3 12st 10lbs
W4 12st 8lbs
W5 12st 6lbs

i have never ever lost so much weight in such a short time. A stone gone in just 5 weeks. Monjouro is amazing!!!

SecretSquirrel703 · 05/06/2025 08:54

Is anyone using Zava? Changed to them for my 2nd pen, ordered Tues lunchtime & still waiting to be reviewed. Had an email yesterday saying no need to chase & they are reviewing within 3-4 days due to high volumes, BUT just had a look for any recent comments on X & it looks like they are being taken over by another company, announced yesterday. So getting a bit concerned now!

4th dose of 2.5mg is literally doing nothing, after good results for first 3 weeks, typical!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/06/2025 08:55

@Fatrosrhun Bottom of a budgie's cage 😂😂 Proper giggled at that.

Had a dream last night that I went to a party and I looked down at my outfit and felt good and slim (yay!), but when I looked in the mirror my face was like it was before I stopped daily drinking - really bloated and looked swollen! Everyone else was drinking heavily and I ended up being the designated driver! That would never have happened in real life. So nice to wake up this morning and see my normal face in the mirror. The bloat was pretty bad.

I think i'm going for 5mg today but just really crossing my fingers that I don't get any SE. We're away tomorrow in London for a concert at the stadium. How I'm going to navigate that with a wonky leg, I don't know. Sheer bloody mindedness.

Have a good day, budgies!

Mounraine · 05/06/2025 09:01

@Fedupoftheshits I have stayed on 2.5 mg and wish I’d bought a 5mg pen to take 3.75mg shots. My weight loss has been 1lb per week recently.

tostaky · 05/06/2025 09:14

@StephenkingsbiggestfanThis is amazing! Well done you!

I did a spreadsheet of weight loss predictions, hoping for a 1kg loss a week (about 2lbs)
results: I am 2 stones away from the overwight category (hooefully reached by end of august) and 4.5 stones away from the normal range (end of november).
normal weight would be 69kg and it seems such a small number i almost sounds like underweight at the moment!!! (Underweight would be 57kg so far away from that).
i cant wait to reach the overwight category and fit into my cupboard full of smaller sizes clothes!
last night i went out and found a jumper that i had not worn for ages due to my spare tyre.. but it fitted nicely and it felt good to be able to wear it without worrying too much about my belly!

1 lb a week is still great. I will be delighted if I can achieve more or less that each week or so over an 18 month period.

Weightlossprincess · 05/06/2025 09:25

Week 4 day 7
I've lost a total of 10 pounds.
Just took the bonus dose from my 2.5 pen. I got 0.7mls out which means a dose of 2.9mg. Will take 3.75 from my 5mg pen next week.

tostaky · 05/06/2025 09:38

@Weightlossprincessdo you multiply by 4.2 to know how many mg of MJ for the amount of ml in the 5th dose?

planesick · 05/06/2025 09:54

What is the aim of increasing the dose?
Does it improve food noise suppression? So you lose more weight because the body doesn't absorb so much fat?
I have lost 9lbs in my first month. I would be happy with that each month, but is there a point where you plateau? I need to increase my exercise, but my life is so busy going from one job to the next that I don't have time to walk anywhere 🤦😢
I know that no-one can tell me what to do, but can someone tell me what to do please. I am keeping to 1200 calories and really focusing on more protein, less sugar and carbs. Nutracheck is really keeping me on task.
Any advice gratefully received.
@OhPolly how is your lovely pooch?

Measure how many mls you get out, divide that by 0.6. That then multiplied by the pension strength will tell ypu what dose its given you.
Hope that makes sense. If not, let me know what measurement you get out and I will calculate it for you x

We must be similar heights. I'm aiming for the mid-point of the healthy BMI range, but I know I'd look awful at that weight. Even when I couldn't eat for 6 weeks due to illness I wasn't that light! Maybe halfway between the mid-point and the top of the healthy range would be more realistic for me.
It's okay to be a skinny bitch but I don't want to look scrawny!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/06/2025 10:31

@planesick I don't think I'm getting as much suppression or peace as I was when I started 2.5. I have some really healthy habits now but the help I was getting from MJ has tapered off. I'll be increasing to get some suppression and peace from drink/food noise back, as at the end of WK4 I'm now running on 80% willpower and knowledge about protein, portion sizes and a strong dislike for beer (huzzah). I'd quite like a few glasses of wine tonight though.

It sounds like you're doing really well with the nutrition side of things and working two jobs? You are doing really well by the sounds of it. I feel like I need a bit more help so moving up, but I have seen a lot of people on reddit and on mumsnet talking about being on 5mg for ages, 7.5 for ages, etc, and only moving up when needing to.

Yeah, in the big scheme of things I’m happy. I lost a stone before MJ and now I’m another 12lb on MJ. I’d like the odd week where the loss is a bit better though.

Fedupoftheshits · 05/06/2025 11:32

After some deliberation I’ve asked to stay on 2.5mg for another month. Who knows whether or not it’s the right decision but only time will tell!

At the moment I’m happy with how things are going and even if I drop down to a couple of lbs a week loss I think I’m ok with that.

It’s tricky as ideally I would have wanted to wait another week to make decision.

If you don't feel you're getting enough suppression, you could just give yourself a dose and a half each week. It's obviously an expensive way of doing it, but it would give you some flexibility.

Dutchhouse14 · 05/06/2025 13:11

Just started week 3
A bit disappointed with weigh loss last week as just under 2lb.
First week was over 4lb.
Still it is moving in the right direction.
I still feel hungry thou so can't really relate to those that say they can't face eating anything!
But food noise has dampened, particularly on days 3-5.
Think I will go up to 5mg next.
I'm with voy and just had first coaching call, I thought calls were fortnightly but she's just said she will be messaging and if any time I feel a call would be more helpful than a message we can book one in.
Bit disappointed by that as I thought it was an actual coaching call fortnightly not app messaging!
I paid extra because of coaching, however she does sound supportive and approachable.
Is anyone else on voy and can I how find the coaching and how it's done?
Second question anyone else on HRT and had more hot flushes since starting mounjaro?

I've just had my second month of 2.5 delivered too. I don't want to go up in dose for the good sake of it. I feel like 2.5mg has already changed my life, so will stay on this dose as long as it is working which it still is :)

26dX · 05/06/2025 13:49

@SilkCottonTree. I’m doing the same x

Me too. I eventually want to come off mounjaro without putting the weight back on, so I think a low dose is more sustainable. I expect I'll need to use actual willpower at some point, so might as well start working on that now, with mounjaro just taking the edge off it.

Kipperandarthur · 05/06/2025 14:57

I feel like I need a bit more help so moving up, but I have seen a lot of people on reddit and on mumsnet talking about being on 5mg for ages, 7.5 for ages, etc, and only moving up when needing to.

I've also read lots of those posts and my current aim is to stay on 5mg for as long as possible before a move to 7.5mg for as long as possible. I don't intend to do the monthly moves upwards at all from this point onwards.

I know that currently it's difficult to predict how it will all pan out at this point though.
