Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Only 1 day until next jab!!

My aim today is stop stressing over it all & stop writing ridiculously long rambling posts!!

I'm working so that should help!!

Redsparklybucket · 03/06/2025 08:13

Checking in - I'm on w3d4 and although I lost 5lbs in my first week my bathroom scales have not shifted downwards since - in fact they have gone up! I'm not sure if the scales are knackered or this isn't working for me! I get my pens from the local pharmacy who weighed me at the first appointment so I know my starting weight, when I go for my next open I will get weighed again and see how much I have lost.

However I am eating much less - and feel although I am hungry (not all the time) I stop when I am full and am not snacking so something must be working! I will see how much I have lost when I weigh in on the 12th at the pharmacy and go from there, I am not getting any real side effects, slightly constipated and a bit of indigestion, but nothing terrible, maybe I need to go up to 5mg - going to take golden dose on my next jab (Saturday) and see how that goes! Sending downwards thoughts to all!

MounjaronOnMyMind · 03/06/2025 08:40

I was rudely awakened at 5.30am with sweat dripping off me and an urgency to run to the loo.

Feeling absolutely drained now. I hope the diarrhoea is linked to my cake eating yesterday, as I've learned my lesson and won't do that again. If it's going to be like this through eating well then I'll need to reconsider.

Luckily I have some diarolyte and I'm sipping some now, hoping I'll be OK at work.

Fatrosrhun · 03/06/2025 09:17

End of the second week for me and another 3lbs gone, which takes me to an amazing 9lbs loss. It will most likely slow down a bit mow, I expect. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve been eating. I should have a bit more time to add in more exercise this week (hopeless last week, I didn’t have a spare minute. Although I’ve got to decorate two rooms!).

notgonnafail · 03/06/2025 09:28

Congratulations to those with losses, and gentle hugs of support for those going through side effects and tough times.

Jab 3 this morning for me, am down a bit over 6lbs in two weeks, which was a surprise as until this morning hadn't lost anything this week! Have switched to splitting my dose this week to try and avoid SEs as really don't want a repeat of the vomiting last week! So far so good.

Keep up the good work everyone and remember that 2.5mg isn't supposed to be a therapeutic dose, so if you aren't losing much yet don't despair! Just keep going and try and trust the process xx

HKG · 03/06/2025 09:30

Hi all!

hope you don’t mind my jumping on this thread, I’ve been lurking for a few days here and so inspired by the honesty and progress here!

I started mounjaro two weeks ago, terrible terrible SE the first three days which have now settled down. Lost 6lbs the first week and so far this week only 1lb.

my question is though, is there an ideal day after jab for weighing in? I haven’t really settled in a day yet so would love some advice.

thank you so much in advance! 🤗

Fatrosrhun · 03/06/2025 09:36

Hi and welcome HKG. I just weigh in first thing in the morning and do the jab before I go to bed (or my husband does, as in a wuss and he’s great at injecting, he’s done our horses a lot!)

ElsieJay · 03/06/2025 09:46

Morning all , congrats to all the great losers and a shout out to @BerfyTigot , how fab is that after those horrible SEs at the beginning!
Your perseverance was rewarded 👍.
And welcome to all the new starters too .

@OhPolly, hope all is well xx

Still feeling tired, but having a busy couple of weeks preparing to go away for five weeks.
I’ve decided not to take the MJ with me - the logistics of flights, moving between bases and keeping it from DH and family were frying my brain .
Bit worried at the stop/start approach, and I haven’t weighed since restarting last Weds so Friday’s moment on the scales will be interesting .
@Seahorsesplendour - thanks for posting the exercise video link! Someone else had recommended that lady to me and I stupidly hadn’t made a note of her name. Looks like we’re in for a rainy day here, so plan to try it out later.
Onwards and downwards !

BerfyTigot · 03/06/2025 09:53

@ElsieJay thanks, I'm so glad I continued. Tbh I still have very loose bowels for a couple of days a week, day 2-4 but I make sure I have immodium in the cupboard

You’re well prepared now!
The SE’s are so variable , can’t remember feeling so tired for so long last time - but luckily had no major tummy issues.

Iggy35 · 03/06/2025 10:24

@HKG
I do weight in and jab on the same day in the morning. I don't think there is right or wrong, it's whatever suits you around your schedule.

Well done on your first 2 weeks.

Threestonetolose · 03/06/2025 10:29

Morning all, I'm on my 3rd injection today and I've lost 6lbs in the last two weeks so really pleased with that. No side effects still which is also great. If I can keep that loss rate up hopefully I'll be where I want to be by end of Sept, fingers crossed!

My urge to have a drink has definitely been suppressed (only had beers a couple of times instead of nearly every night), and I'm feeling full quite quickly when eating. Had a rice pot for lunch yesterday which made me bloated all afternoon so I won't be having that again while on MJ.

Completed my refill questionnaire so just waiting now to see what my second pen prescription will be. I'm with SheMed so guessing it will be 5mg.

I love this that he does the horses!! 😂

thank you!

FlorenceNightshade · 03/06/2025 10:57

Fourth 2.5mg jab done this morning.

Week 1 loss 2.4kg
Week 2 loss 1.2kg
Week 3 loss 2.9kg

5.7kg total loss not bad considering I’ve done two sets of Nightshifts in there! No real side effects so going to do golden dose next week - I was genuinely shocked at how much is left in the pen! Then probably 3.75mg after that.

Loving hearing everyone’s experiences, so much good advice and support on this thread! Onwards and downwards ✌️

Me too. Are you moving up to 5mg tomorrow too?

PersonaNonFatta · 03/06/2025 11:14

Morning, losers.

Just checking in. W2 D4 . Have lost 8lbs now. Not sure I'll need to go up to next dose if it keeps working as well as it does on 2.5!

Feeling a bit worn out, though. Sleeping fine, but weird and vivid dreams.
Bought a jolly Joanie jumpsuit for summer in my usual size and it's too big! Yay! Not used to things being too big for me!

Seahorsesplendour · 03/06/2025 11:38

I’m going for the golden dose as an incremental step! Really do t want to waste the amount that’s left!!

are you going up to 5mg?

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 03/06/2025 11:42

Two weeks in. I’m finding the side effects of indigestion a bit much so I’ve lowered my dose a bit this week to 1.7g (this will stretch my pen to three more doses instead of two - still within the 30 days so happy with that). The suppression I’ve had at 2.5g is more than enough for me. I’ve struggled to eat 1000 calories and more like 800 each day so struggling to get enough protein in. I’m in it for the long haul and would prefer to aim for 1kg a week loss going forward rather than 2 that is happening at the moment. I love my smart scales though. It’s so nice seeing weight and fat dropping down. I weigh far too often.

Start weight: 98.40kg
Goal weight: 67.00kg
Current weight: 93.75kg

Week 1: 2.65kg / 5.5lb
Week 2: 2kg / 4.5lb

Woodywig · 03/06/2025 11:46

@Pimms123 I moved up to 5mg last week.

For the first time I had some SE - slight nausea in the afternoon on days 2 & 3. But drinking lots of water and having a piece of fruit seemed to get rid of it.

suppression has increased which is good as I had very little / almost none at 2.5.

managing slightly smaller portions than last week - but have an appetite and having three meals a day.

5mg feels great to me right now. It feels like it’s doing what it should be - without feeling too strong. Looking forward to seeing what the scales say on weigh day / Thursday.

good luck with whatever you decide xx

Kipperandarthur · 03/06/2025 11:54

I've just moved up to 5mg today first jab.

I also notified Staysure travel insurance and had to list obesity as a condition which I hadn't actually done before. It cost an additional £69 to update my multi trip insurance policy that will only cover my Summer holiday before requiring renewal in December. (Accepting that obviously the policy would cover me for further trips if I was making them.)

Kipperandarthur · 03/06/2025 11:55

@ Woodywig
I'm also a weigh day Thursday as well and have just purchased some new scales as the old ones are not giving reliable readings.

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 03/06/2025 13:05

Update - I called admiral travel insurance and I did have to add on that i was taking them, cost an additional £77 - DH will be cross that I’ve cost us extra money with my fat jabs! 🤣🤣

WhynotJanet · 03/06/2025 13:38

I’ve just seen this article regarding weight loss injections and travel insurance. Thought it might be useful. Bottom line is we need to tell our insurers!
https://www.itv.com/news/2025-05-23/how-skinny-jabs-could-invalidate-your-holiday-insurance

Mounraine · 03/06/2025 13:41

Astounded at that travel premium! What if we are no longer obese I wonder?

@HKG i think the important thing is to be consistent. I weigh myself every morning after my first trip to the loo.

dc82 · 03/06/2025 13:45

Well done you bunch of losers! 🥳 Hugs to those not seeing the loss they would like just yet - it will come ❤️‍🩹

Thank you again to everyone who answered my question on the 2.5/5 debate I was having for second pen. I’ve ordered another 2.5. I’m still feeling suppression in week 3 and I struggle to eat enough some days so I think it’s the right choice for me. Also figure if it really ebbs off I can practice a bit of maintenance 😅

Edit to add another tag for @OhPolly. Thinking of you!
