Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Ps I’ve been battling the constipation but since I had a delivery of Starpowa gut friendly bacteria gummies last week I am now back to normal so might be worth a try for anyone struggling

tostaky · 02/06/2025 16:50

Tonight i will do my 3rd injection. Im doing it every 9 days as i find the suppression is still good.
what i am really noticing is how much i used to eat before! Im not sure if i stay on MJ for a year if i will be able to eat as i eat now or will i torture myself with food again.
im finding that half portion are enough and no i dont need to eat extra to have more vitamin/be in good health… there is some serious unconstructing (if thats a word) to do!!!
im losing about 1kg a week which is not amazing but it suits me. Also i figure in 10 weeks, i’ll be 10kgs lighter and that is going to feel amazing already!!

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 02/06/2025 17:10

Anyone else found they’ve stopped biting their nails. I didn’t even realise to start with. I’ve had to file them as they are getting long.

tostaky · 02/06/2025 17:49

I just did a wee and lost 400grs! (Or 0.8lbs) Grin Grin Grin

MounjaronOnMyMind · 02/06/2025 18:45

Today I've realised I need to plan three small meals in advance.

Yesterday, I didn't eat much as I felt stuffed after breakfast and lunch. And this morning I ate a croissant and a cake!!

It was partly birthday celebrations, so it won't be a regular habit but I think I would have made better choices today if I'd eaten better yesterday.

I think I'll eat something small but on plan (better quickly make a plan!!) soon so I don't repeat the same this evening/tomorrow morning.

So nice to get your updates on this fast moving thread! I’m now on W5 D1. Did the golden dose this morning which stung a little, but still glad I did it. Managed to draw out over 0.7. Also weighed myself this morning and so far so good, slow and steady and all that.
Wk 1 lost 6lbs
Wk 2 lost 1lb
Wk 3 gained 3lbs
Wk 4 lost 5 lbs
So 8lb lost in my first month and actually I’m happy with that. I’ve also got lots of NSV. So my jeans feel loser, back exercising, drinking a lot less booze than I have in years and just feeling calmer overall.
My 5mg dose has also arrived ready for next week. Decided to go up a dose because my side effects have been bearable, mainly feeling cold and I’m now on top of the constipation.

Pimms123 · 02/06/2025 19:35

Hi all. Has anyone here moved up to 5mg? I have ordered 5mg and due to be delivered either tomorrow or Wednesday and I'm due to inject on Friday. All of a sudden I'm feeling so anxious as I have read people having horrible SE on it.
I feel more nervous than I did with the 2.5mg as I injected as soon as it was delivered lol. Just after some experiences from people who are on that dose. I know it depends on how your body responds and the only reason I have decided to go up is b cause I'm not really having much suppression on 2.5....although I have lost weight (15lbs since May 10th)mainly due to planning healthy meals Intermittent fasting and lots of walking

Fatrosrhun · 02/06/2025 19:49

I’m a bit worried that we haven’t heard from OhPolly. Hope her gorgeous doggie is doing okay.
And @DidILeaveTheGasOn how are you going on? Happy hopping? Hope you’re being looked after.

So i went up to 5mg on Friday night. Saturday and Sunday felt really quite nauseous more than at any time on 2.5mg, and had to force myself to eat, calorie intake was quite low. Today not feeling as nauseous, managed to have 3 meals, suppression feels quite high right now. I can just about cope with 2 days feeling like that but if i had not felt better today I would have dropped the dose down to 3.75mg this week.

Mounraine · 02/06/2025 20:36

I have had a NSV in yoga this evening, actually saw hints of a figure in the massive mirror and face is gaining some definition. (I never really look in a mirror at home). Also put some XXL gym legging for recycling as they were too baggy.

Agree, it would be lovely to hear from @OhPolly.

That’s brilliant. I was feeling quite good about how dedicated I’ve been for these first two weeks and the results I’ve been getting- until I took a pic of myself in a full length mirror last night! But I guess these pics are necessary for progress reminders in the future. Such a long way to go.

Mounraine · 02/06/2025 20:49

I think I must have been in a good posture stretch when I caught my reflection 😁. The camera never has such luck! I’m feeling a bit more positive than at the back end of last week. Firstly my period started yesterday which explains 50% of my mood at least. Secondly, although the scales look static, the general trend is down. I need to keep perspective.

Finally, I have been invited to a party at the end of July with quite a few old frenemies in attendance. That’s quite motivating too.

Fatrosrhun · 02/06/2025 20:58

That’s something to aim for! Make them do a double take at how fabulous you look.

I think I have just avoided pictures for years. And this will be a before photo, so I wasn’t looking for a good angle or light. So it was awful! Hopefully the next one will be an improvement.

Seahorsesplendour · 02/06/2025 21:20

Yes I’ve been thinking of @OhPolly too & sending best wishes their way!

glad you’re feeling more positive @Mounraine That is a great NSV!!

i felt great after my workout this morning but then had a bit of a sweet incident this afternoon!! Very cross at myself but the food noise is back with a vengeance so really looking forward to my next jab now & hoping the golden dose increase works if not will def be going to 5mg the following week!

As much as I want to take it slowly and I’m trying to trust the process, today was all too reminiscent of many past failure's and added to the weekend’s internal battle it has freaked me out a little!!!

I really really need this to work!!!

Yes. First jab yesterday. No side effects so far! Have you had any with the 2.5?

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 02/06/2025 21:46

I’ve got a weird dilemma. Just booked some travel insurance for a big family holiday next year and was just going through the documents. I’ve clicked no for this question:
Have you or anyone in your party been prescribed medication, received treatment or had a consultation
with a medical professional for any medical condition in the past 2 years?

does that mean have you been prescribed medication for any medical condition?

does MJ count and is obesity a medical condition?!

I think I need to ring them tomorrow and check.

also does that include stuff like antibiotics, acyclovir -!: whatnot?!

Pimms123 · 02/06/2025 22:02

@Mytagalongs thank you for your reply. Good to hear you have suppression as that's what I'm hoping for....but obviously not too much lol. Hopefully I will get on with it ok

friendlycat · 02/06/2025 22:02

@AccidentalPrawnYouFool
I am going to log it on my multi trip insurance prior to holiday next month.

Pimms123 · 02/06/2025 22:05

@AccidentalPrawnYouFool I haven't really had major side effects on 2.5mg. just loose stools in wk1day2/3 and nothing since. I hope 5mg won't be too high and start having severe SE 🤞

Mounraine · 02/06/2025 22:07

Interesting question about the insurance. I'd be interested to hear if it puts your premium up.

(The thread moves so fast and there are so many strands of conversation I feel bad when I don't acknowledge everyone. I hope I've never made anyone feel snubbed or ignored - it's so easily done).

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 02/06/2025 22:15

I’ll call them tomorrow and ask, will keep you posted!!

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 02/06/2025 22:16

@Mounraineabsolutely not - it is a fast paced thread I find it so hard to keep up! X

BerfyTigot · 03/06/2025 07:03

3 weeks on MJ - progress update.

SW 102.2kg
CW 96.4 kg

I've lost 5.8kg! So pleased. It's been a bumpy ride with side effects and sometimes my tummy has been so sore that I have no desire to eat. But I'm so glad I've stayed with it.

My life is difficult at the moment (illness, parent with Alzheimers) and i don't have much energy/time left for me, so this is such an achievement.

I do actually feel slimmer 😁

keeponplodding7 · 03/06/2025 07:14

Wk d2 after a week break and my first bad night. I wonder if I ate too late or too much as it was my standard dinner of chicken /salad….felt like it was sitting on my chest. I took a shot of pepto bismol and did eventually get back to sleep but feeling exhausted this morning. I need to up my water too. Half term and being out of the house has got me out of the habit!
