Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Week 3 weigh-in for me today. 1.65kg (3lbs) down, which is perfectly acceptable for a long weekend away. I'm re-ordering 2.5mg for next month as it appears to be working and I'd prefer a slow loss.

Anonymousmember25 · 02/06/2025 07:51

Well..... First it has taken me ages to find the new thread 🤣 love reading all your stories

I'm W4 D1 now and 8 lb down. Slightly disappointed to be honest but it is what it is. 5mg pen next week which I am oddly excited for. To cut a long story short, took last does of 2.5 from the pen, had read about the 5th dose but didn't necessarily want this as wanted to move up to 5 next week but felt annoyed seeing how much was left. Hadnt really planned or thought about using it but decided I would have a go at hard twist of the pen....

Anyone wanting to do this, it's hard, had to hold the end in my mouth and twist the actual pen with both hands. It did work however and I jaabbed most of this into my belly 🤣. In hindsight pliers would have been better......so in essence, not really any idea how much this was bonus dose .... It didn't all go in as it was difficult to get the plunger going again but used as much as I could. I am not recommending this and know it isn't the best idea but it is what it is. Hopefully, it's made someone smile anyway 🤣. Will see if I've any more suppression with a bit more dose however much that may be.

Also usually jab at night. This was mid afternoon, could not stop needing a wee. Dunno if this is a side effect or what. Very strong metallic taste when I woke up...

Onwards and downwards!

Merluzzo · 02/06/2025 07:54

Just weighed in and my BMI is under 30, I can’t believe how happy this had made me. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t obese. MJ really is a godsend.

TreesOfGreen99 · 02/06/2025 08:33

I am on W2D2, so far feeling great.

2kg weight loss after first week - did struggle to manage 2L water each day, and made myself go to gym x2 and swimming x2 first time doing either in months, so I’m hoping there might be some fledgling muscles trying to fight their way through 😂

notgonnafail · 02/06/2025 09:16

@Anonymousmember25 8lbs over 4 weeks is great, a steady 1-2lbs a week is a really good weightloss, and much more sustainable than a massive water loss (which is all the big early week losses you may see on the threads are). I'm on target for slightly less than you at the moment, but my scales are telling me that my muscle is increasing and my fat decreasing, so you're probably the same.

Good luck on heading up to 5mg and well done on bonus dose wrangling - think I'm going to go insulin syringe route to be sure how much I'm getting as SEs over first 36-48hrs haven't been much fun so far!

hottubsundays · 02/06/2025 09:18

Morning! W4D1 for me.

SW 15
w1 6lb
w2 2lb
w3 1lb
CW 14.5lb

definitely noticed the suppression and weight loss depleting last week. Nurse has arranged the 5mg pen for next week. Haven’t really suffered too badly with side effects long may this continue into 5mg!

Ive lost 7cm around my waist and my husband says my belly doesn’t hang any more whoop 🤣 big win yesterday was that I have been eyeing up a dress for a couple of months and decided to try on the large yesterday which was like a sack so I tried on the medium and bought it! Haven’t worn a medium anything for about a decade. So I’m focusing on these positives over the weight loss

JunklessTrunk · 02/06/2025 10:11

Morning everyone, so lovely to see so many positive stories! Well done everyone!

I did my second jab last night. Feeling a bit spaced out today. Wondered if that was a low blood sugar thing but I’ve been eating fine. Just feel a bit fuzzy in the head. Anyone else had that?

I’m over the moon happy with the side effects I didn’t know about. I’ve posted on the side effects thread but I’m so happy I’m going to say it again - MY ANKLES ARE BACK! After one week! I’ve had achilles tendinitis/bursitis and various other shit feet/ankle issues for over a year now. Walking has been really painful to the point where I haven’t even wanted to stand up and go to the kitchen because it hurt. The inflammation has gone down massively. I have some ankle definition again!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 02/06/2025 10:38

Good morning!

WK4D2 and it's weigh-in day:

SW: 240lbs
WK1 loss: 6lbs
WK2 loss: 5lbs
WK3 loss: 0

So still at 229lbs, or 16 stone 5lbs. I started my period this morning so I'm pretty chuffed to not see a gain.

Serious cabin fever has set in. Been doing a bit of online shopping for sandals and ordered an Elizabeth Scarlett handbag, which I'm ludicrously excited about. There's a slight risk that the boredom will bubble over into booking a holiday somewhere...

I'm having real trouble sleeping, I get about 3 hrs sleep then wake up at 6 and I'm up for the day, but I'm knackered and awake, not springing into action. I ended up having some drowsy antihistamines on Saturday night and slept through most of Sunday.

I am W3D5 and 9lbs down from the start, so super slow it feels. I don't feel any different, but what I have noticed is that my t-shirt is slightly looser. So onwards and downwards we go! Still can't decide whether to stay on 2.5 or move up...
Well done everyone for doing so well. Sending positive thoughts to those who are struggling with SE or motivation.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 02/06/2025 11:40

NSV - my jawline is back. My under eye area is bugging me, I think it'll get worse as i lose more. I think I need filler but I'd like to try something less... scary? I've booked in for Lumi eyes this week. Has anyone had this? Sorry, bit off topic.

Seahorsesplendour · 02/06/2025 11:50

@DidILeaveTheGasOn how is your knee doing? Sorry you’re having trouble sleeping!! Can’t help not being able to get out & about much! Hope you’re healing!

Well done everyone on all your updates this morning. 🌅 🥳

@DidILeaveTheGasOn i bet you see a loss once period goes! I don’t know what Lumi eyes are? I’m away to google now though 😁
@Seahorsesplendour thanks for the links. Im bookmarking lots of workouts and then picking what jumps out at me.
@JunklessTrunk Im on week 3 and every time the day after injecting I’m a bit light headed too, so I’m trying to make sure I nag myself to eat and drink plenty. I find protein powder made up with water good for this when I can’t stomach much if nothing else.

I really need to pull my finger out and order next pen asap. But I’m genuinely not sure what size to get. I’m 90% for 2.5 again as it is helping with suppression so I don’t feel a rush to change it. However, I know it will possibly wear off over time.

Please can I ask those of you further along (if you did stick with 2.5 for your second pen) if you wish you’d gone with the 5 in the end?

SussexLass87 · 02/06/2025 13:37

To be honest, I'm wishing I'd gone up to the 5mg for my second month. The suppression and feeling fuller for longer have definitely waned.

Can't go back and change things now, but I'm having to use a lot more will power this week!

OP posts:
SecretSquirrel703 · 02/06/2025 13:45

Tomorrow is 4th jab & I'll be doing extra dose next week. I'd planned on stopping at 2.5mg as long as possible as responded from day 1 with mild SE, but i can definitely feel reduction in effects from day 4 after jab now. Decided I'm risking 5mg next, but plan on doing 3.75mg/45 clicks for at least first 2 weeks.

dc82 · 02/06/2025 13:50

@SussexLass87 It’s impossible to second guess how you’ll feel in advance isn’t it?! I’ve been dithering all week on it.

@SecretSquirrel703 interesting! If do go with the 5mg I would do the same too. I’m worried suddenly doubling up would throw me completely off food, so I’d try and stagger.

im sure I’ve seen mentioned somewhere a website that tells you how many clicks for different doses. I can’t remember what it was called. Anyone remember? Or have I dreamt that up 🫣

it helps

Do you know, I'm a way I think that's a good thing, it's harder for sure but it's the start of good habit forming isn't it. I do worry about coming off them (whenever that happens) and if I'll have formed healthier habits!

Fatrosrhun · 02/06/2025 14:14

I agree. I’ve not had much suppression these first two weeks and have had to go off eating properly and using some will power too. I’d like a little bit more suppression with the next pen, but I’d rather have slightly less suppression than be where I can’t eat properly. I think/hope it wil be easier at the other end if I have done a lot of it myself and dealt with some hunger. Not that I’ll be anywhere near the end for a long time!

Crazycatknitter92 · 02/06/2025 14:37

Im on my second month of 2.5mg and still doing well on it. I still have 2 weeks of injections left but unsure if I should stay on 2.5 or move up to 5.
Has anyone else done more than 2 months on 2.5 and still lost weight?

GeraniumRoseblush · 02/06/2025 14:42

@dc82 I've had the opposite! I ordered a 5mg pen a bit in advance and am now slightly regretting it. My golden dose was 2.9mg on Friday and since then I've not wanted to eat much at all. And I don't like it! I had decent suppression on 2.5 so I'm thinking of reverting to that dose again. May get hungrier as the week goes on so will decide later in the week. Like you say, it's tricky to know exactly how we're going to feel over the next weeks.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 02/06/2025 15:17

I'll be on 5mg next time. I've been taking my doses every 6 days, which has brought the level in my body up to 3 each week. I'm more hungry now but I think that's possibly because I can't do anything.

You know what? You're right, and that's a really lovely, positive spin on how I'm feeling.

I did have a small ice cream at the weekend, and I think you'll all understand that that would normally mean it would kind of ignite this frenzy for chocolate for the rest of the week...but I had my small ice cream...and...that was it.

I enjoyed it and cracked on with my life. That's never happened before 😅

I have been sleeping terribly but then I said to my husband that I didn’t think the blackout curtains were blacking out anymore and he hangs up blankets over the curtain poles now and I’ve slept better ever since!

Me too I enjoyed a single scoop of Tirimisu ice cream at the beach and thoroughly enjoyed it and didn’t want any more!
